Heck, I'm, lying on my unmade bed in front of my laptop and eating baked beans cold (not right out of the can; I did at least put them in a bowl) for lunch.

But now you have to wash the bowl! You need to think long term, JT.  Actions have consequences, y'know?

Do we know if Derrick has any kind of job other than the substitute teacher gig (that was only one day, IIRC)?

LOL....it WAS a long-term decision! See, it was a big can, and  had I not split it up I'd have been too likely to scarf down the whole thing. Trust me, I've eaten them right out of the can on  many occasions, too :)

I don't think the Dullards are going back for months and months, if at all.

Plus, Jessa is giving birth in February and that would be a good story line if Jill could use her AMAZING SKILLS to help deliver the baby.

Derick might be catching on to the Duugars Way Of Life. The show pays bills, Derick.  Wake up and smell the coffee.

The Duggars have  been lucky that every birth, unattended, hospital, C-sections to, poor Josie came out with positive endings.

I hope it ends well for Jessa, but odds are runnin out for these people.

I think she needs to work on her fucking contentment.

I love this comment.  It made me laugh and its true!

There is a way out of this hellhole Jill.  Read something other than a book with psalms in it, tell your father and molester brother to go fuck themselves, tell your headship to bathe and you want to move, take Michelle's stash of happy pills (just for the fuck of it), and leave hidden notes for your younger siblings on how to get out of dodge.  Contentment comes from within so try something new since this old shit ain't workin'.

So easy to say. Doing it's a whole different matter, though.

I'll bet that 75 percent of the population -- at least -- wouldn't have the wherewithal to leave Jill's situation. There's a reason no Duggar kid has left. And only part of it is that they;'re kind of dumb. An equally big part of it, in my opinion, is that they're just like most people, pretty darned normal really.

And normal people? I know a lot of them. And I'd bet on hardly any to actually leave a situation like that, if they were in it. Even though they all tell me that that of course they would. I'm massively massively eccentric. And it's my eccentricities that helped me leave. Without them, I'd be stuck just like the rest of my family. We're still waiting for the eccentric Duggar to appear.

It is very easy to say someone  should  do something  . Not everyone  has the wits, strength  and energy  to change their life. To leave everything you have known and to possibly  be an outcast  from your family  is not a simple  thing. Churchhoney, you know this more than most and I like the  way  you defend the Dugger kids. You more than any of us could  be saying  if I could do it then they should  be able to, but you do not.

It's a very English thing to do. I like my baked beans warmed up, but those Heinz vegetarian beans from England still taste good cold.

Jill needs to let actual medically trained people attend to Jessa. Jill lost any credibility with her "slight meconium staining" for hours. If you see meconium, your baby is in distress and needs to get out stat. I'm squeamish at the sight of blood so I am not a medical professional nor do I play one on the internet. But I do know basic shit about birthing a baby... enough to know that I need highly skilled doctors and nurses at my bedside, not my mother in law, cause you know, she's had babies and shit.

I can't fix the boxes.

I seriously wonder if Jessa will give birth at a hospital or will rely on Jill's vast amount of knowledge.

Hopefully Ben got the shit scared out of him and will attempt to put his foot down with this circus.

I can't get rid of that quote box.

I don't watch these shows anymore, I only keep up by reading the forums here. I apologize if this has been discussed and I hope I dont offend anybody with my comment.  I've noticed people talking about how bad Derrick looks now, the dark circles and being so thin.  After all of the dental work and oral surgeries he's had, could he possibly have  an addiction to pain medicine now?

I take pain medicine and am so scared of developing an addiction that I have an NA sponsor to keep me on the straight and narrow.  I've heard stories and I see how very easy it is to fall down the addiction hole when you take pain medicine. Praying won't help you once those things get ahold of you.

If she decides to birth at home again after hemorrhaging the first time, I won't have the tiniest shred of sympathy if things go badly. Michelle and JB are shitty in all sort of ways, but they always prioritized quality medical care for Michelle and the j'fetuses. Even during the first specials when they had trouble finding an OB who would take Michelle on when she was pregnant with Jackson, they persisted until they found one instead of just deciding to go for another home birth. Jessa and Jill don't even have the excuse of poor examples set by their mother and yet they continue to take stupid chances because homebirth is trendy. To hell with them.

She posted it was fluids and antibiotics so probably an infection and dehydration.  She is a nice woman, hope she gets well soon.

She's too young to be getting infections and dehydration. Those sound like secondary symptoms to something more serious. My dad had NHL and was in remission several times before his final illness.

I hope I'm wrong. Despite her hateful beliefs, I don't wish cancer on anyone.

And what on earth is Derick doing in my neck of the woods, needing a stress pig, unless Cathy is possibly being treated at Stanford? They are pretty cutting edge. Cathy's last round of really aggressive treatments were in Omaha, IIRC.

If Cathy *is* sick again, it may explain why the Dullards didn't return Danger America.

I'm with you.  This does not look good. My mom fought a 4 year long battle with cancer and once you start needing "fluid, antibiotics" and all that jazz, something is lurking.  I hope NOT.  She had very aggressive cancer...I hope she beat it and that evil cancer stays away from her and all of us.

Could explain a lot about Derick and I have said before, I think Derick has an eating disorder. He has had a lot of bad shit happen to him with his father's death and his mother's cancer...Jill's situation in the public.  I don't like Derick but I do feel for the guy.

Anyway, hope Cathy is well...

Cathy does not look well at all in that photograph. On a completely serious, non-snarky note, I'm hoping she makes it. I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but my father died of cancer, and that's pretty much how he looked towards the end. I pray I'm wrong about Cathy.

I admit I do not care for Derick, but I hope his mom is not sick again. Cancer is not fun to fight. I remembered last year when the specialist I see for my thyroid told me the medication I was on for my Graves Disease was dangerous. He said it is like chemotherapy-treatment can put you in remission, but the side effects can be dangerous and life threatening. Her autoimmune system is probably weaken because of her cancer treatment. My husband autoimmune system is weak to the point of him being at a higher risk for skin and even breast cancer due to his transplant and anti-rejection meds. Of course my auto-immune system attacked me via my thyroid so I also have a weaker immune system.

Bin may not be able to afford to "put his foot down". If they have no health insurance, Jilly Muffin is the only delivery option they have.

Yeah, I wonder how many of them came and for what reason. There can't be anything here that's remotely tempting to them.

Or Derick and Jill are having a second honeymoon in HI and this is just a layover stop for them? TLC needs more material to deflect from the fact that they aren't going back to Danger America anytime soon.

Of course, that's just pure speculation; Cathy may be more sick than she's letting on, which would be a LEGITIMATE reason for them to stay (but not to film)

No, she's not. Even a UTI at her age can throw you for a loop. That being said - she was never "cancer free" - she didn't make it 5 years of remission if the cancer has returned.

I wonder how she invited the devil in this time. I wonder if she regrets crowing about it now? I'm sure prayer is just as good as IV fluids, Cath.

I'll be at the nurse's station, having coffee with Dr. Jill.

Oh...and I'm sure ol Nance at TLC saw the tweet and thought *plotline - and finally a legit reason for Jill and Derrick to extend their stay.

Yeah, you're never "cancer free" with Lymphoma. You're merely in remission. That said, she had really aggressive treatment in Omaha that wasn't even available when my dad got sick in the early aughts. The disease took my DAllad; I guess that this Godfearing man just didn't love Jesus quite enough /s I hope that Cathy isn't hiding something. Why post that pic at all? All of a sudden, Derick's flight looks super suspicious. They've already done Ma and Pa Duggar do the Haight.

And interestingly, my 85 year old MIL had a UTI over Thanksgiving weekend, and the backup doctor on call never responded to calls from her Assisted Living facility that takes care of her meds. She went DAYS without the antibiotics she needed, but never required IV fluids for dehydration, and she really doesn't drink much water at all. Now, she's never had cancer, so even being 30-ish years Cathy's senior, may actually be healthier.

Cathy's proven to be an asshole but damn, I hope she's ok.

Though I wonder where IV fluids and antibiotics fit in with  her "Jesus cured me because I'm better than you" mantra.

The folly of thinking that God's your special friend. Who saves you from stuff that takes down other people. You're very likely to be bitterly disappointed. And I expect the disappointment's especially hard to take when you force yourself to wonder why God doesn't like you so much now. I would have thought that at her age, she'd have seen enough of life to not fall for that dumb idea. But I guess when it's being spouted all around you, it begins to seem true.

I didn't want to open Pandora's Box, but since everyone else did...  :)   that old post of Cathy's that she was very special because she was beating cancer was VERY insensitive to those who lost people to cancer.

I wonder, God forbid, if she is sick again, what the heck does that mean to her now?

I just had this talk with my teen son today.   I was lecturing him on being very, very careful on what you say (as a Christian). I actually gave Cathy's post as an example and then here it is...  :(

I can tell you it really offended me. I lost both of my devoutly Christian parents to cancer. Did Jesus not like them as much he likes Cathy? My sister, whom I also lost to cancer,  must have been super far down the totem poll: she was an atheist.

That's why I called her viewpoints "hateful" in the post with the picture. I can't be objective about her anymore, but I certainly don't wish a relapse on her either.

I'm sorry Cathy appears to be ill but I am tired of the Duggars and their family members insisting they are Special because Jesus. It's a slap in the face to those who actually live by their beliefs without benefit of God bothering others.

I'm looking at you, Triple D and Jilly Muffin. And take down your friggin' DONATE button that can be seen from space if you are not intending on continuing your missioncating anytime soon.

I came to that same realization over the years. It's painful to see it play out in your own life and in those close to you, and have this reality dawn on you and try to make sense of it. I feel for what they all may be wrestling with if she is sick again.

Heck, in my dad's final illness, which lasted a whole two weeks, he had a book about dying on his hospital rolling table. I forget the title, but I remember looking it up (it's been almost 10 years now, so those memories are a blur) and confirmed that it was a Christian book. He knew it was the end. The lymphoma attacked his kidneys and out of nowhere grew an edema in his abdomen that made him look like Jilly Muffin at 42 weeks gestation. He consented to one fluid drain, but the risk was that it would further damage the kidneys. We took the risk, but lost the war. At no time did he talk about the devil invading his body, and he appreciated every moment he spent with us without invoking Jesus/God in every other sentence. He lived his faith by example, not by tooting his horn every five seconds.

Okay, my parents DID go through an annoying period when I was in high school, and they were trying to impress members of their new church. I also had to lecture them about AIDS and the LGBT community, the latter so my brother felt safe coming out to them....that happened, but much later.

Back to the Dullards, it's been radio silence from the entire clan today. Jessa posted a pic of Spurge smiling in a highchair, but since I'm banned, I was lucky to see the post at all, and I think it was from a day or two ago. I really, really hope they're not doing another Duggars Do.... trip. JB/Mechelle have already been to a San Francisco head shop, and drove through the Castro on Halloween (sadly, it was pouring that night, and the parties were forced inside) on their way out to Lodi for a speaking engagement. I can't imagine them taking the entire family here; people from their area come here in summer to cool off! LOL Now, it's rainy season, and it's actually raining!

All I can think of is a TLC plot of a second honeymoon in Hawaii for the Dullards, minus Izzy. Jana can water the tree in their absence. I just can't see Derick traveling more than 10 miles without Jilly going into panic mode. The rest of the family can still leave for the missioncation trip on Friday; Jana or Mechelle, or both, stay home with the littles. The show can splice this to show both trips, but give a fuzzy timeline. And not shoot in Danger America, just show them packing, that way the absence of the Dullards won't be noticed. I doubt the Dullards fly to DA from whereever they were headed today...that would require tons of luggage. And Izzy, since he's not allowed to be with the missioncation group.

People are often so insensitive.

I don't think Cathy meant any harm. I really don't.  She was so excited to be healed that in her own joy, she posted about her miracle.  She forgot that thousands of other people asked for that same miracle and didn't get it.

It pisses me off when people don't think about how they sound to other people, especially other people with cancer.  How did she not think????

Well, might explain a few things about Derick.  he is freaking delusional and Cathy seems to be out of touch herself.

The problem is, with NHL, you are never cured. They just got her into remission after she had been attacked very severely. We don't know how many cycles of remission (if any) she'd been through before we "met" her in the midst of the Nepal Welcoming Committee. That as in January, and she was nearly dead by June. As I said before, it can it fast and furious, but I don't know if the first instance is like that. I might have been? Or maybe Cathy was in a remission state that they kept quiet when she visited Derick in Nepal? I'm just hyper curious since my dad had the same cancer, just 10 years earlier.

I'm pretty sure this is where Cathy went after the Dullard wedding. I also note that she had a downturn after Dan's wedding, as if she was just willing herself to be there. So sad, really.

Sad to hear Cathy may be sick again. I really hope she's not got cancer again, poor lady.  Many people in Texas have had really bad allergies this year so I would not be surprised if she ended up with pneumonia due to secondary infections. People who gave never had allergies in their life are presenting them along with asthma.

I'm curious to who posted the pic of Miss Cathy and how the post was captioned.

Along with most of you I find it very offensive when folks assign blame for an illness and then give God the credit for wellness. How would Miss Cathy explain the many children who do not beat cancer, or the longevity of someone like, say, Charles Manson?

Anyway, wishing Miss Cathy a short lived illness and many years of wellness.
