Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

I don't see Josh having a hard time finding a job if it's one that requires no face-to-face contact with the public.

There's an evil part of me that hopes Josh's future will involve an eternity of shitty commission-based telemarketing gigs. It would be like going to the Special Hell while still being alive, which to this atheist would be a fitting punishment for his sins.

I can see the Duggar empire expanding beyond Tontitown.  Josh could head up a crew of 10-16 year old flippers the next town over.  I think that will have to be the primary income for this crew after TLC hits the road.  Ain't gonna support dozens of people flipping a few cars.

If Josh were trustworthy he could take a crew up to D.C. where flipping is really profitable.  But he would needs lots of accountability partners all the time.

Sounds sort of like the gypsy driveway paving scams. Buy leftover and inferior crap, toss it at the project and disappear.

I would like to see Josh working at Burger King,  flipping burgers for a living (since that's all he's qualified for).  His boss will be a woman and an atheist.

LOL, I was just watching Bill Maher's show where he did a segment saying goodbye to all the loser Republican candidates.  In one shot he showed most of the candidates posed for a photo with Josh Duggar.  Josh with Huckabee, Josh with Scott Walker, Josh with Ben Carson, and so on.  Josh got around!  I wish I could do screen shots!

Josh has multiple challenges when it comes to securing employment.  He has almost no education.  He has almost no job experience.  He is a known, toxic commodity in whom the press is still interested.  Hire him at your own risk.  And he is a smug, sanctimonious asshole who thinks he is better than everyone else, so he is unlikely to take any job he is actually qualified for.  Unless someone can convince him that pretending to be humbled and trying to work his way up will allow him to regain his former glory, I have a hard time imagining Joshley being willing to take a low level job.

imo

Josh has 2 options to make money and fame reappear.

1) Redemption

2) Exposé

If he is not interesting in $ and publicity, bahahah, he can work for his dad in construction, rental properties, car flipping etc.  The only way I can see him taking a job like call centre or burger flipping, is if he leaves the public eye and JB.

Hmmm... I cannot picture Josh flipping burgers especially when people were not happy to see him at the one mini-golf course. Families may not be happy with a business having a known child molester and adultery/porn watcher serving them. I could picture him being a telemarketer. Someone would recognize his voice or who he is and might give him a piece of their mind. I would pay good money to hear that conversation.

What makes this even worse is that it was a mini-golf course in an extremely conservative part of the country. It's not like they were in a big, evil, liberal city. They were at a place known to be "family friendly," for crying out loud.

I also saw the montage on Real Time. Died laughing...that Smuggar sure got the photo ops with all of the most abhorrent politicians around during his stint at the FRC. And look at where all those guys are now (losers, all).

The Duggar Curse lives!

This reminds me, when I was reading that article I kept thinking to myself "what mini golf courses aren't family friendly?"  I mean isn't that kind of a given?  I'd expect them to make a big deal about it if it was some sort of XXX mini golf (which I'd only even possibly expect to see in Las Vegas anyway), but otherwise I thought it was really funny that they pointed it out.

I asked the same question when the story broke. It's something that the DUGGARS would be wont to point out, but the cashier or waitress (can't remember the deets now) who sold the pic and story to InTouch *possibly* (see caveat below) defined it that way, I suppose to make the families leaving more shocking. However, to me, that bit is understood, so I would have understood families leaving; that information wasn't really necessary. Who knows? Maybe InTouch added it.

If JimBoob and his pelvic thrustimg are liable to make an appearance, "family-friendly" goes straight down the drain.

Bzzzzzzzzzzz!!! In addition to fame, $ and leghumpers dabbing their eyes, door #1 comes with a lifetime of surveillance and domination.

Let's see what you didn't choose -- behind #2 was a key to your free will, a slightly faded and tattered ribbon for first to spill the beans and every $ earned was yours to keep.

I live in Vegas and as far as I know, there are no XXX mini golf courses.  It's not a common occurence to see people dry humping each other on putt putt courses either.  I think that happens on the "special" Duggar courses.

Oh dear. I hope this doesn't initiate an internetz f-u culminating in a VSE of the families on the putt-putt links.

Cute baby but she looks kind of startled. I know I was.

Ha ha!  I hate to say it, I'm so tenderhearted, but I think that look is actually "fighting back the urge to cry".  (And who could blame her??)

He's going to get some kind of RW think-tank gig. Seriously. They always take care of their own, and in this case, he's been photographed with so many of them that they can't hide the association. Sooooo, I think he'll be working behind the scenes doing something -- supervising GOTV efforts, collecting donations, etcetera. He's going to get a paycheck and he'll be around people who are more than willing to ignore what he did. After all, Jesus.

Where is that picture of Meredith in her unfortunate.. hat. thing. taken? It's not the Duggar house I think; the decor looks unfamiliar and I don't remember them having any carpeting. Or art, however hideous. Did the Duggars 2.0 move into their own house?

Looks as if it could be the lobby of some big Amish restaurant or other. Maybe it was taken when the Girls Hit the Road? And Anna somehow thought she was dressing the child up in that mismatched tumorous head explosion? (reminds me of a dress somebody once made on Project Runway that was supposed to look like cancerous tumors (and did))

I have posted this link before, but I think it's appropriate here again, for those who didn't see it. http://fiddlrts.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-duggars-how-fundamentalisms.html

Thank you for that link...I can't think of a more articulate and accurate write up on Smuggar....if I could like it a million times I would.

That craze comes and goes with the baby bows...they only just started calling them fascinators after fascinators took off in England and Duchess Kate really likes them.  I don't see her sticking one on Charlotte any time soon.

i christened these abominations "sputniks" over a decade ago.  I don't mind a baby headband with a proportionally sized bow or rosette,  but when they get to be the size of the baby's head, I draw the line.

All I could think of is what a waste of a trip to a cantina if you can't have a margarita (or several). Looks like Josh wished he could have a few.

Josh looks like he's in desperate need of alcohol. Can't say I blame him. From cushy D.C. lobbyist job to shlepping around on the Stink Bus, that's one hell of a come down.

Not only that, he thought he'd escaped the orbit of his crazy-ass family and here he was, stuck back at a table full of annoying little kids (granted some of whom are his own), elbow to elbow with a load of shouting cretins and ill-behaved gremlins and having to answer to his slimy politician father and creepy mother.  Seriously, dude should have packed up the RV with Anna and the kids and just headed west instead of going to rehab, and started denying he was Josh Duggar.  Too bad for him you simply can't do that anymore, also, he seemingly doesn't have the cajones to pull it off.

Imbln my phone and can't blow it up but the article mentions he has a cell phone? Really?

from the article

“But while everyone was clearly at ease, Josh kept that phone up to his ear,” the source says. “He definitely did not seem to be having fun.”

he looks like he has an iphone, one with the white stripe on the back (but i DEFINITELY COULD 100% BE WRONG because I should wear glasses but i refuse to so my sight is bad) in the first photo. He's definitely on a phone.

Smuggs is screwed for the rest of his life. His trip to rehab granted him some respite from the Duggar Circus, but now he's back in reality and a pariah inside and outside the Fundy world.

He's probably wishing he'd been able to run away with Anna and the kids to start life over fresh somewhere far away where he could make a living...but Boob owns him lock, stock, and barrel.

Lol, I agree he'd like to run away, but I'm not so sure he wants Anna and the kids tagging along...
