But, I agree, it's highly unlikely a 10-year-old - of any gender - would (because even if they're really into football, I think at that age most would just watch the games, not the pre-game shows -- hell, I don't watch the pre-game shows at five times that age). This commercial with Matt Leinart and other college superstar draft busts was hilarious, though: Edited December 8 by Bastet Link to comment

jcbrown December 12 Share December 12 I don't know which osteoporosis drug this commercial is for but the one ostensibly narrated by a dog for a drug that "builds new bone!" is beyond creepy. The dog is all excited about his person being able to be more active, but then there is a squeaky toy sound and the dog gets ecstatic about the creation of bone. Dog--it's not for you! 4 Link to comment
KWalkerInc December 12 Share December 12 Today I saw a Taco Bell commercial where people were eating the Cantina Chicken Burrito at Christmas dinner because they thought the chicken that "Gam-Gam" made was "flavorless" (which they tell her). When another family member points out that it could be their last Christmas with her, they are totally dismissive and other people start eating the burritos too. The grandma looks devastated. If they hate the food that much they could make an excuse to not show up (at least for dinner), or eat light and sneak out to Taco Bell or something later. At least that wouldn't be so openly rude. I wonder if these people sleep on a mattress from Mattress Firm, as it seems like the same people could have written the commercials for the two companies! 6 1 2 1 1 Link to comment

Bastet December 15 Share December 15 Advertising perfume is an interesting proposition; it's all about how it smells, and obviously we don't have Smell-o-Vision on our TVs. But, while advertisers can't let viewers taste a food product, either, it's easier to specifically describe what makes that product taste better than its competitors (more this, less that) and, most importantly, they get to show images. But you can't entice someone by describing a smell, and images of the product don't do anything because they all look alike (an unusually cool bottle is only going to get you so far), so perfume/cologne commercials are largely off in a world of their own. Unfortunately, someone decided that world should be obnoxious. 7 1 Link to comment
