Summer and Faith were born into the show about three years apart IIRC. While o love current Faith who has largely aged without SORASing, there was a lot of untapped potential had they remained closer in age considering neither one would exist if not for Cassie's death.

Which makes it all the more silly that Mariah and Summer are now regarded as around the same age. Summer should be 15 or so years younger than Mariah, essentially still a teenager. Yeah, the gift from JFP that has kept on giving. 😑

You know, I hadn't even considered that until just now, but....yeah, in that context making Mariah Cassie's twin makes no sense. I'm glad Camryn Grimes got to return to the show but there had to have been a better way to right that wrong.

I know, she could have showed up claiming  she's an attorney and that John Abbott's will had been forged and he really left Jabot, the Manor and all his other assets to Cane! It would be brilliant!

I still can't buy Theo being Dina's grandson. Great-grandson? Sure. The math doesn't add up for me.

Dina would have been ~65 when Theo was born, just like my grandma. Seems normal to me.  My mother was 73 when her first grandchild was born; but my family is into higher education and working before procreating.

The sand appears to be leaking out of the hourglass.

TVLine has learned exclusively that the producers of Days of Our Lives have released the entire cast from their contracts, with the venerable soap set to go on an indefinite hiatus at month’s end. While the NBC sudser has not been cancelled, the unprecedented — and decidedly ominous — move comes at a precarious time for ratings-challenged Days and the vanishing soap genre as a whole. It also comes as Sony Pictures Television and NBC are in negotiations to renew series.

Reps for NBC and Sony declined to comment for this story. A Sony source, meanwhile, tells TVLine that the studio is not involved in the contract negotiations with the cast. “The actor deals are through Corday Productions,” explains the insider, referring to Days‘ production company. A spokesperson for Corday Productions, meanwhile, did not reply to TVLine’s request for a comment.

An insider cautions that because Days shoots eight months in advance, the show will have enough episodes in the can when it stops production at the end of November to last through Summer 2020. If NBC does renew Days, production is expected to resume in March. But by releasing the contracted cast members from from their commitment to the show, producers have no guarantee who — if anyone — will return.

“It’s actually a shrewd — if cynical — business move,” sniffs one insider. “If Days gets picked up, [Corday] can offer the actors new contacts at a reduced rate and with a ‘take-it-or-leave’ it attitude. Worst case scenario, they lose half their cast. Best case scenario [for Corday], everyone agrees to return at a lower salary.”

The triangle of Bill/Mickey/Laura with normal-looking (non-model) people who  could act.

Mid 70s...that's when I started watching Days, although I admit it was only because of Wesley Eure :). I stuck with it for a few years and then gave up. But I still have a soft spot for Doug and Julie!

😲😧

So one more soap down.  😲😧  I haven't watched Days in years but I hate to see any more of the remaining soaps been cancelled.and although they haven't actually said that, I think that's what's happened. I was trying to remember when I stopped watching DOOL and I couldn't do it. It's been that long. Feel bad for all the actors who just lost their jobs. And for all the fans who will miss the show.

ETA: I can't get rid of those two emojis at the top of my post so I'm just going to leave them there.

Tried to delete something. Couldn't do it. So I'm giving up.

And then there were three? Maybe.

I feel bad for the DOOL fans. This reminds me of when AMC suddenly moved from its original NYC home out to LA. Supposedly it was a cost-savings measure but it really turned out to be a move into the fast lane toward cancellation. At least the Days actors are free to seek other work.

😕

With the DOOL current looooong lag time between shooting and airing? My first thought was NBC is expecting to have weeks intercepted with Impeachment Hearings and 2020 election stuff coming up.....they don't want to pay salaries while they are only using what is already shot and in the can while they "catch up" through the rest of 2019/first quarter of 2020. . Likely, they start filming again with a stripped-down, lower-paid cast next Spring.....or not. 😞

KA is being positive. But, we also all know how positive to the press the AMC cast was those final two years too.

Unfortunately, I can't help thinking the same thing that happened to AMC will happen to DOOL. This hiatus buys the show some time, but probably not much.

Okay his comments were a bit tone deaf.. But how about we judge him on his acting skills and not his personal views? Remember that before Twitter, we never would have known any of this. He’s entitled to his opinions just as we all are.  We may not agree but that’s life.

JMHO and YMMV of course. And now back to our regularly scheduled programming. So very sorry for Mishael. I lost my dad just about 25 years ago. It’s never easy. 😢

Nope, he chose to put his personal opinions out on social media for everyone to see so I am entitled to have an opinion about them and him. Besides if he cared what anyone thought he wouldn't have made those comments in the first place.

Blah, blah... Dude, you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. Thank goodness there are fewer Cane fans or that they are poorer these days.

A note to Josh Griffith: Hold your nerve! Don't cave and bring him back. He had a shot at a story to stay employed and threw it away.

I watch Stumptown so I will look out for Robert Adramson.

If SON's plan was to drum up sympathy for DG's dismissal by printing that article it didn't work. It didn't give any actual details pertaining to why he was let go either. I haven't really been watching the show since the preying mantis returned. Hopefully Josh and the others who control the show won't cave in and reverse their decision no matter how much DG and the fans he has left whine/complain/pout/attack others.

I know it's tough to lose your job, especially one you've had for a long time. DG probably has a family to support and bills to pay too. But how tone deaf is he in light of what just happened to the entire D00L cast? Geez. he is not the first person in the history of soaps, TV, the entertainment industry, or even the world to become suddenly employed. Life goes on, one way or another. Have some grace, guy. And maybe learn how not to be such a choosing beggar.
