The Honeymoon Special is still available (I have Comcast: The Evil Empire) and I am watching it now. I am blown away by how Robyn looks and sounds like a completely different person. It’s shocking. She also appears to be wearing a giant Rolex in the zip lining scene but I assume it’s one of Kody’s which I also assume are total knockoffs. But regardless, they were so syrupy with each other and then they’d pan to the wives at home. There was some serious resentment going on and it was just the beginning. Not at all saying it wasn’t warranted.

And Robyn’s demeanor when she was finishing getting ready and Kody was calling home to Meri and telling her he loved her. It was clearly an act but he was playing it so well and Robyn was pissed.

I'm not sure what that was supposed to accomplish. 

Nobody cares about a proper plyg wife other than Kootie and I think that whole modesty ship (along with any religious affiliations) sailed long ago.  The other wives don't give a rat's ass either.  And certainly those watching this crap know she's just a lying manipulator.  So why even bother?

I think it was to point out that she's remaining faithful to their religion and could be judgemental based on the religion.  She was, in an awful, not subtle way, trying to say Christine gave up not only Kody but her religious beliefs.   She wanted to look "sweet" and pious.

Robyn turns 44 this year and her inability to make tears suggests she is all dried up inside. So her chances of snagging a better and richer plyg hubby who would make her his queen are small.

I don’t know what kind of desperate AUB man would be willing to take on twice divorced Robyn, her five children by two different men, and her sallow, frumpy, miserable self.  And who would want to deal with Kody as an ex? She has to know that’s she done.

I have been wondering about that. The last 10 or 12 years have been K&R against the wives and OG kids. Christine has left, Meri is basically a non-entity for them, Janelle won't rock the boat, and yet, doesn't seem to have much use for Robyn besides the big family get-togethers. Almost all of the OG kids are grown and flown.
 
If they have no one left to feel superior to, or to bond in their irritation or hatred over, what happens then?

I don't believe when they are not getting on I think it's just for show and to take the back lash off them. Janelle will be the next target, her and Robyn don't get along at all.  

Robyn has said if Meri leaves she will leave and that's why she is kept around. 

This next season I feel will be the last. It will be very boring without Christine and she wont want to be involved once her new show kicks off.

I just hope they don't start doing heaps of spin offs like all the 90 day fiance stuff 😐

I actually feel bad for Robyn in a way. It must be awful to be so hated by the public. She's brought a lot of it on herself, if she'd just stopped fake crying and instead said she would deeply miss Christine and Truely but respects her decision, she could have improved her standing among the audience. People might have even started to have some sympathy for her being stuck with her godawful excuse for a husband.

ETA I realize that would have required her to act like an adult who cares about others' feelings.... a big ask in this case

You are much kinder than I am.  Robyn and Kootie are rotten to the core, and the more they try to fake kindness and empathy, the worse they get.  Narcissistic, histrionic, and awful are the worst I can say about them, without swearing!  😁

Like many of you, I am watching old eps again.  Birthing the latest one who cannot remember her siblings, REALLY took a toll on Robyn's countenance, goiter, physique (no shame there) and style.  Went hurtling right into Grammy style.  It is a mystery yet fascinating how much she changed in a bad way.

I get the look that she was going for, but how did she manage to do her wardrobe shopping from the JC Penney catalog circa 1974?  Do stores even make those shiny flammable polyester blouses anymore?  That's some seriously talented Goodwill scavenging right there - gotta hand it to her, she looked the worst of all four of the women and that includes Meri in her LLR sweater, skinny jeans and clodhopper shoes.

Also THIS.  From the moment the two of them tried to sneak away from the camera to kiss in season one - not only gross because Christine was in labor but mostly because Kody supposedly doesn't kiss his wimminz until marriage because it's disrespectful to his wives - they were lying from the very start.  I see nothing redeeming in either one of them.

Someone on Reddit actually found that awful blouse and it came from Dillard's.  And it came in multiple colors.  I hate LLR but if I had to choose between Meri's wardrobe or Robyn's, I would choose Meri 100%.  At least LLR is attempting to be fashionable?

Have you seen Meri’s outfits? They do not complement her—jackets that are too small, jeans that look painted on and tops that get wedged between fat rolls. It’s as if LLR wants women to look fat, frumpy and clashy. The only people who look good in those clothes are a size 2.

I think Robyn was ok looking when she first came on the show.  She looked better with lighter hair and her face/jaw didn’t look like Quagmire from Family Guy yet.   Now she looks like Nellie Olsen and the witch from the Wizard of OZ had a child. If I’m judging in their primes I feel like Janelle was the prettiest.  Christine looks better now than when she was younger.  Meri has always been the most unattractive to me.  She has harsh features, now she’s just harsher and wider, but with a spray tan/ IG filter.  Kody besides his hair and crazy eyes is about the same.  He looks trimmer but his hair (what’s left) and eyes are more wild.  They’re all about slightly below average to average to me.
