Just watched the end of the European honeymoon episode.  I wouldn't want somebody else decorating my house, but the real entertainment was watching JBoob try to do math.  We have 19 kids, then 3 more by marriage.  That makes..................22, add me and mama and that's, um.............24, and 4 grandkids?  28?  Ok, I need a couple of ya'll to take your shoes off, now.

Boob explaining, "their honeymoon was like Michelle and I's".  Then Jessa says, "Ben and I's house."  So math AND grammar skills are both lacking.  But we had that lesson about bankruptcy, and we all can say "perpendicular", so we're good.

Hope the new show with the 12 kids (Willis family) knocks them right off TLC.  I watched them last season on "America's Got Talent."  Nice family.

The Josie clip was really disturbing. Everyone's already gone in on Michelle and Jim Boob, but I have to add that I don't think much of TLC either for happily going along with that sort of exploitation. I suppose I'm not terribly surprised, though.

TLC's job is to make money...and drama brings viewers. It's unfortunate that Josie has no say in this, because I'm not sure she will love having this episode on display once she is older. Someone has to draw the line, you know? It's too bad her asshole parents don't know well enough to do it.

I just wanted to applaud a woman who is so concerned about her own modesty that she had her knee caps blurred out while water skiing on national tv. Yet, she's so unconcerned about her children's modesty that she allows the airing of a blurred out Josie seizing in her underwear, and unconscious and naked from the waist up.

*slow claps* Well done my lady, well done.

And TLC really played it up before this episode & even during the episode at commercial breaks- showing Jana crying in the kitchen & the ambulance pulling away, lights flashing.

All they care about is exploiting the kids and fucking making money off it.

Not just the kids. Sorry to say, but I truly believe if Boob had a heart attack with cameras present, TLC would show air it. Within weeks or months of its actual occurrence however. For some reason, it takes these bozos weeks and weeks to badly-edit just about anything. I have more and more respect for the broadcast news divisions - they can get things on with minutes.

And the oh so concerned producer Scott Enlow and cameraman Jim.   Such concern for Josie, but they turned those camera's on first.

What wonderful people that crew, they go from watching Kate Gosselin abuse her kids to the Duggars with sealed lips.   Yes, I am aware they are sworn to silence, but  seemingly not a conscience to be found. Decent people do not remain silent.

I'm still pretty stunned that I'm so fascinated watching this show bc I'm turned off by much of what they do. Although, I admit it's far more fun to talk about the show on here than watch the episodes themselves.

My husband HATES that I watch this show. He is so opposed to their political views and conservative beliefs, and thinks watching - even just for snark value - validates them.

No, she's quite calm but seems almost "removed" from the situation. She doesn't see what others see, doesn't sense the seriousness. She is, IMO, clearly emotionally-disturbed to some extent. Except for actually gestating, giving birth and nursing, as a mother she's less than useless.

I believe she's on antidepressants/anti anxieties - but maybe not the right one(s). She's so one note all the time. I know it can take time and patience for doctors to find the right medication - it's such an individual thing.

Just rewatched both wedding episodes and I have realized the reason why Clown Car got so emotional was she realized that she just lost 2 Sister-Moms.

Eh, I tend to think that it was because Jim Bob was genuinely emotional, and she would look bad by comparison if she didn't at least dab at some fake tears ;) ("I said to myself, 'I'll cry later! I'll cry later!'"--suuure you will, Michelle!)

Their job is to film the Duggars, not ask questions and demand the family act differently. I think you're making assumptions based on the scenes shown on TV, and those scenes would either be re-shot or deleted if they included the crew trying to impose their own morals into the show. They seemingly don't have a conscience because our only exposure to them is doing their job in a semi-scripted TV show. Wait for a tell-all book and we'll know where they really stand.

Revisionist history moment.  Its TBT for the Duggars on TLC and MEchelle just said that they decided on allowing God to determine their family size right after Josh.  No mention of JCaleb.  Fabulous frumpers and hairdos abound.  Oh why do I watch this?  Just watched them move out of the church house and Michelle could not even unload the damn refrigerator.  She had to tell JB to tell the "ladies" to unload it.  She is the laziest bitch ever.

I think this is where their insane ideology of life really comes into play. They isolate and insulate themselves from the outside world. They're convinced that their way is the right way and won't be told differently. So it's really no wonder that Jill does idiotic things that most mainstream people have the sense not to.

At least its not that stupid Mother's Best Friend nursing ring (?name) that Michelle walked around with that was meant for sitting only. Thank goodness Josie is lactose intolerant or we would have had a whole season of Josie's legs dandling from beneath Michelle's "tastefully" caped breasts. [snip]

Anyway, I'm becoming so disappointed in Jill and Derrick because I had hopes that they would be a smarter couple.

I think she was allergic to the tater tot casserole and Venti Starbucks  MEchelle was ingesting every day.  Babies are rarely allergic to a mothers milk.  I know I might get beat up for this ( I know it can happen) - but sometimes it is what the mother is having to eat or drink.

No beating. That's true; my mother had to be on a restricted diet when she was nursing me (and still resents it. It happened in 1966...) And I think that's a much more likely explanation than the baby being allergic to mother's milk, but we know our Mechelle -- she believes whatever is most convenient for her.

I thought she said she produced "skim milk" and then the Dr. who was also a specialist in that area gave her a bit of a side eye. I'd have loved a thought bubble over his head...

I remember they said Josie was allergic to breast milk, I can't remember the exact reason.  Josie had digestive problems that the Duggars never fully addressed. Remember the whole floating intestines thing? There was an episode that aired this week where Josie had to go to the hospital because of an intestinal blockage.  It was when Jill was with Michelle in Little Rock and they had to call an ambulance to take her back to Children's Hospital in the middle of the night.  Even with Michelle present, Jill had to take charge of the situation and explain to the emergency response that Josie had low oxygen and I think low blood pressure (despite already being on oxygen). At the end of the episode it said that Josie may have had to have bowel surgery when she got older to correct any issues. What was interesting to me is that at the end of the episode, Jill was rocking Josie while Michelle was walking around and talking to different people. I think it was that Michelle wanted updates, but Jill was the one looking like the mother.

Just goes to show how incredibly stupid MEchelle is.  Breast milk looks like skim milk.  It's not whole milk from over the freaking counter or baby formula.  Anyone that has ever breastfed or pumped milk knows it looks more like skim milk.

Wish I had a slapper to come out and slap her every time she says something stupid.

Iz doesn't have a feeding problem it looks like. It may be angles, it just looks like he is a three month old or a giant.  Hopefully, Jill can just listen to others about the baby sling and not double down.

Unless she had one of a few, rare diseases such as  maple syrup disease or galactosemia she is not allergic to breast milk. Nearly all babies with digestive problems actually do better on breastmilk than formula because it's easier to digest. That said, nursing a micro-premie isn't easy because they don't feed "normally" for a long time and so much pumping must be done just to keep milk up. If Michele just said she was unable to nurse because of her prematurity I could respect that. But to say she is allergic to breastmilk is most likely a crock.

So, I just watched an episode where Michelle takes a 7 month old Josie to the dr for a check up before going to the TTH for the first time. It's the same one where the other kids have chicken pox I believe. In that episode, Michelle said Josie was lactose intolerant and after going off the breast milk her digestive issues were better. Is that possible or is she full of it? I could see her covering Josie's more severe digestive issues this way but doesn't really make sense.

Probably not although it's common for moms to assume a baby is lactose intolerant if they have problems with dairy. But Josie was likely reacting to the milk proteins from Michele's diet. Instead of weaning she could have taken dairy out of her diet. To be fair to Michele (ugh I hate even thinking about that) lots of moms wean when they have to start altering their diet but with Josie being so premature I would think she would have wanted to keep her on breastmilk for antibodies and easier digestion.

While watching Say Yes To The Dress at the very end they had a preview of the next epi, baby dilly's delivery, and MEchelle was talking to Josie and her krazy really showed not only in her facial expressions but her baby voice. *shudder*

She was asking Josie if they could give RickJames her crib. They find the used crib with teeth marks and it's dusty and Josie starts to practically lick the dust off the crib. YUCK! Of course MEchelle thought it was great/funny. Ewwwww

Is this the clip you're talking about?

I watched it this morning, and Michelle's voice has never bothered me until now. Ugh.

edit sorry weird double post.

wow, it looks like she got some fundie botox (meaning injected by someone with no education and qualified) which makes her eyeballs look like they are going to explode.

I thought the very same thing, Fuzzysox ! I was saying in my head "Good Lord, please wipe that down, please wipe that down..."

And of course it was one of the little Duggar girls going to town with Pledge and a cloth to clean it up while Michelle muggs for the camera and makes the face that reminds me of the evil clown from "Poltergeist". Jeez, those ping-pong ball eyes give me the willies !!!

While I'm at it - in the same clip...FEET ON THE COUNTER ! AGAIN ! BARE FEET !  Was I raised in some kind of alternate universe where parents don't allow kids to run all over the counter with filthy shoes or feet !?  I can just hear my dad rolling in his grave, saying over and over, "Counters are for glasses, not for asses...!"  (Or feet, I assume !)

Thank you for posting the clip allonsyalice. That is the exact clip I was talking about. MEchelle I just don't know what is wrong with that woman. Seemed scripted when she was talking to JosieGrossie. And why did they bother the lady at the baby store if they had no intentions of buying a baby crib? Are they keeping it at the TTH so when the grandbabies get dropped off for their "daycare?"

Reality tv families seem to do this. I also see it on RHBH. And it's odd to me because I rarely have seen it before. My children when they were little (much younger than Josie) climbed up a few times to reach into upper cabinets. But that was quickly stopped. Strangely we were afraid they would fall and be hurt.

What I really hated was when Boobs dad died and paraded him around on a office chair.

That was the worst moment ever.

I always wondered what the big deal about grandpa in an office chair was - my grandfather, when he got to the point where it was hard for him to walk, picked an office chair (that looked a lot like the Duggar's, actually) because it had wheels and he could scoot around the kitchen. (My grandparents house wasn't very big and their kitchen was the social epicenter.) It was what he wanted. It was always under his own power (we never dragged him around). He really liked his chair because it was useful and made him still feel independent. (My grandfather would still walk to and from his bedroom and the bathroom, albeit with a cane and very, very slowly. In his later years he had limited mobility but he was still very sharp and very mentally present.)

Watching that clip, though ... it's not that they're dragging grandpa around in a chair. It's that grandpa looks almost comatose, or like they're really wheeling around his corpse. That is awful and nothing like how my grandfather used his office chair.

It was the first and so far last time I ever wrote to a person on tv.     I told him he was below a piece of shit for doing that to his father.    They sent me back some cheery message.

We see so many horrible things they do, the hate filled things they say, which means they are 100 times worse in private.

Oh yeah, the crazy baby/uptalk was out in full force in that clip! "I was THINKin'? JOS? Your baby bed? We probably oughta ask JILL and DErick? If they would like for US? To share your baby bed for THEIR baby? Wouldn't that be so SPEcial?" <gasp> <goggle> crazyeyes.jpg

If this means Michelle has closure that Josie is no longer a baby, then I can live with the ridiculous baby talk and giving away of 5 year old's old crib. It's not like she sleeps in it now, or like it's a special blankie or something she's really attached too.

Also - the old 15, 16, etc. Kids and Counting specials have been airing. Michelle's hair HERE, is 25 years out of date, it looks much, much better than the weird halo mullet and huge poof in the back. She must have been cutting her own hair then.

About the wheelchair - I can't think of any reason JimBob's dad wouldn't have access to a wheelchair, unless he didn't want to be filmed in one, or they didn't bring one to Jim Bob's house. If he had been low income and need one, Medicaid/care his age and income would've qualified him for a basic wheelchair, if they didn't want to purchase one outright.
