It’s been a long time since I saw that episode, but I think the original poster meant that if those two characters are based on Dorinda and her first husband, they show us two very angry individuals who yell at one another constantly and seem to hate one another and have no respect for one another. So if I were Dorinda, I would be appalled; especially if my friends recognized that those characters were based on my first husband and me. To the point where I might try to get that episode canned. But the producers seem to have gotten away with broadcasting it with no consequences.

Funny, I still see an angry screaming Dorinda-art and reality are not too far apart. Two husbands later Dorinda treats John the same way and most of her friends. Writers are allowed to draw on personal relationships.  This would have been filmed twenty years ago-after Dorinda had Hannah.  I guess is was the cashmere connection that was the big reveal?  I just remember the episode as Carrie being subjected to the husband's tirade, suggesting Sharon move on and worried for her friend.  The couple got back together and ended up with a dog Charlotte could not handle.  How bad were Dorinda and her first husband that people would draw the connection?

Again there are no consequences from drawing on personal experiences, there was no getting away with anything.  This particular show throughout its run used many a compilation of real life people for story lines.  It got me to wondering if Sonja might have been drawn on for character inspiration.  Not a main character but an episode character.  I will have to re-watch some of the episodes to see if there is a Sonja like reference from her hostessing days.  Dorinda seemed to have zero issues with Candace Bushnell. Luann's friend.

Dorinda better be very careful when she starts talking about  polite society. Her drunken rages and rude shout downs leave much to be desired.

When it comes to Doris and Lulu it's pot meet kettle.

No, you’re right. Real life Dorinda is still very angry and yells a lot. I don’t approve of the way she treated John the first couple of seasons.

I have to say, for a woman in her 50's, who would appear to consume copious amounts of alcohol, D looks pretty damn good.  Now I know, cosmetics, dermatological enhancements, etc., but still.  Not sure how I feel about the hair extensions.  This was her Tony Awards look.

I heard her on Jeff Lewis Sirius Radio show, it was entertaining and interesting.  I have always thought I could hang with her, in real life she seems very chill.  She did let us know that she is selling her NYC apartment and wants to find another neighborhood to experience and that she has a storage unit for all of her clothes that don't fit in her apartment.

Dorinda has such cute eyes.

And the platinum blonde looks so fake, but it totally works for her.

Sshe looks good for her age but what's the deal with her chest? Looks like she was in an accident and was bruised by the seatbelt.

It looks like she was wearing a T-shirt when the makeup was being applied, no blending whatsoever. The magic abruptly stops at the base of her neck.

Dorinda's latest Instagram post.  Aaand now I need a shower.

All 3 of these brands are strong enough that I doubt that Dorinda got paid anything to post these items. Even if they are paying celebrities to post their products on Instagram, these 3 brands wouldn't waste their dollars on Dorinda who has only 577K Instagram followers. They'd spend it on someone like Gigi Hadid who has almost 42 million Instagram followers. Furthermore, Real Housewives have a reputation for being trashy and of dubious wealth. Comping a Real Housewife or paying them to endorse an established luxury brand actually cheapens the brand.

This may not be a popular opinion but I've always thought the ugly brown Louis Vuitton pattern is awful.    I wouldn't buy an LV and I wouldn't carry one if I got it as a gift.    Why would I want a bag with someone else's initials plastered all over it?   I'm a classic Coach gal.  Every bag I own is an unadorned leather Coach.

Not to mention nowadays you have to label sponsored posts in some way. She didn’t even tag the items, she just think it makes her cool.

I would actually respect it more if she were being paid, lol.  If it's just bragging?  Even ickier.

I so agree with you but with a caveat I would sport brands that have my initial or initials.

Cole Hahn, my first and last name and got loafers with CH on them

Calvin Klein, first and middle and just got some cute CK initial sandals at TJMax

Coach watch has a big "C" on it.

and finally Channel, well just because... ;^)

I like that.

My initials are AA so unless I want to carry around the 12 steps, I'm on my own. LOL

With only one "n", for the brand :) With two, it's not the same, lol ! (#autcorrectFailiguess)

If it has 2 "n's", you probably got it on Canal Street.

I'm a diehard Longchamp woman. I think they have some of the least obtrusive labeling and they're very good about repairs (a decent number of them are free and ship free if bring it to a retailer). I've never broken the $1000 price point on a bag.

Canal Street?    I used to go on Sunday afternoons but haven't been there in years.

Aren't those Channel bags right next to the Cucci bags? LOL

I got a very good Louis Vuitton Alma fake years ago. I actually suspect that body of the bag is real (smuggled out of a real Louis Vuitton factory) because it's very very good, but the handles and zippers are shitty.

Wow!    I didn't think that happened.  Good for you!    Then again a bag with a shitty handle isn't good. LOL

Theyre making the Alma bags in colors now and the LV is etched into the leather making it more subtle.   I think that huge improvement.

I don't really carry it because I'm not so into the logos now. I bought it when I younger and more into that kind of thing. I think I paid $50 for it. Handles and zipper are serviceable, but NOT the same quality as the rest of the bag.

I don't think repeating LV monogram pattern is all that great looking. It's not even like it's the Goyard chevron. I think the single best thing that ever happened to that LV monogram was Marc Jacobs covering it up with Stephen Sprouse and Murakami.

$50?    Good deal!

Hmm?    IMHO I can't honestly say that adding pink roses to the brown LV pattern is an improvement.

I'm not familiar with Murakami.

That's the Multicolore Murakami. It was truly a horror show. They discontinued it 3 years ago. Thank god. I thought the cherry blossoms and some of the character designs were fine, but the Multicolore LV logo was absolutely terrible.

Oops!   Did I mistake cherry blossoms for roses?   If so, I blame it on my lack of interest in LV since I have a cherry blossom tree on the side of my driveway LOL

Dorinda posted a photo of her packing for a trip to LA, it wasn't a post about designer purses/hand bags or even a post promoting things for people to buy. It was showing what she was taking with her. LOL

Right - wasn't someone paid by a company to NOT wear their brand?  Or was that a Kardashian

No no - the earlier Stephen Sprouse collabs were graffiti and the orange/pink roses.  Some of the Takashi Murakami collabs were the little characters, cherries and pink cherry blossoms.

Coco Canal :)

I came into a small chunk of money a few years back and bought a Birkin from a legitimate reseller.  I almost fell over when the bag arrived because it had it's original dustcover, accessories and the original receipt tucked into one of the pockets.  To this day I still can't believe it came with everything intact.  I wanted one SO BADLY and I was never going to have a disposable (that is, unexpected) sum of money again, so I bit the bullet and did it.  And I've never once regretted it.

Sidebar/OT: A word of caution however, not all legitimate resellers are equal and you have to be careful with the ones that carry a huge amount of inventory because the people they hire to inspect the items and write the descriptions aren't always 100% accurate.  I initially bought a Birkin from another reseller and what they sent me was a horrifically used and abused bag that did not match the description and looked nothing like the photos online.  Thankfully they accepted my immediate return and refunded my money.

I'm from the Midwest and have never cared for labels.  Why pay good money for a product and then provide free advertisement.  My only exceptions:

An A&F coat because I was dragged into the store, and it was on the clearance rack.

Two LC purses that I received as gifts.

Two LC tennies that I got on clearance for $15.

I often find the most desired and expensive designer purses are some of the ugliest things out there.

It's a really nice place and IMHO Atlantic City is a dump.  Some people like to go to Atlantic City for the beach.   The Jersey Shore has beautiful beaches but Atlantic City isn't one of them.    I'm spoiled by the beaches of Long Island.

On rewatch of the Vermont spa day I noticed Dorindas white sweater looked jacked up. It was all ratty and had holes. I don't even like the stuff that has the cut outs on purpose. Her sweater looked WORN HARD! Step it up. You are on television.

I forget the brand but I believe it as mentioned that the sweater was designer either here or on FB and that is how it was supposed to look. It was the Mayflower Spa in Ct not Vermont.

Hahaha, I have that brand but slightly different neckline.  Same ivory color, same distressed edges.  I like it.  It’s so soft and comfy.  But I get what you’re saying.  Not sure I would pack it as a spa ensemble.  I actually like pretending that I don’t know it’s ‘ripped’.
