I just want to say thank you Whoopi for saying what I was thinking when there was that audible sound at the beginning of hot topics.  The first thing my mind went to was that Whoopi's last egg had dropped on the stage.  This woman...I mean seriously, she is like Barbara Walters in needing to bring the attention back to her no matter what.  Yes the sound interrupted RP's comment about being fat, but there was no reason for Whoopi to derail the conversation for some stupid joke that had no relevance at all in todays hot topics.  Plus we got that damn valley girl accent again.  Please ABC don't renew her contract.

Ugh, I really thought they would just ignore the Elisabeth Hasselbeck mysterious surgery or whatever she has going on considering that her leave of absence from Faux News was weeks ago.

Wow, that Barry Manilow duet was....it was something indeed.  I don't mind all the plastic surgery he has had, celebrities need to look good these days to stay in the business, and being a gay celebrity with all the pressure to look youthful and hot....well women know what that's like so whatever.  His voice was pitchy and just bad today.  I don't know if he was coming off a cold or something but that was amateur singing and was horrible.  When he told Whitney to sing it, that was just cringeworthy.  I'm really getting tired of all these duet albums w/dead singers, and yes Barbara Streisand you are guilty as well.  Just b/c we have the technology now to do this somewhat seamlessly doesn't mean it should be done.  What is to come next, mixing two dead singers and manipulating their songs/words to form an album.....Let's see Judy Garland and Amy Winehouse the Christmas album, coming next holiday season 2015?  Seriously?!

After expressing my utter shock and anger about how Rosie O'Donnell treated and spoke about the events that happened in Ottawa, I felt compelled to tweet her. I will admit calling her a loud mouth moron was not diplomatic but I was so angry at how she acted like it was no big deal - this is what I tweeted:

@cnbbutterflygal: @Rosie ur a ignorant loud mouth moron the world doesnt begin&end w/USA how can u b so callous selfish & stupid ‪#‎CanadaStrong‬ ‪#‎ignorance‬ then( because tweets are just so short!)

@cnbbutterflygal: @Rosie damn right whole country mourning b/c WE STAND TOGETHER & mourn our fallen as we should! its patriotism & respect which U seem 2 lack

Her response???? My hashtag was #canadastrong and her response was this:

@Rosie: @cnbbutterflygal - is fuck u too strong ?

Seriously??? I despise the fact that she is SO ignorant that not only did she dismiss Canada and what happened but then she says that as a dig at the Canada strong hashtag and my opinion?!?! You should be ashamed to pay this woman to spout her arrogance and ignorance on TV. She is a disgrace to your country and to all of those who fight for our freedom.

This was a post on The View's Facebook today.  Hilarious!!!

Is that who she sent out the get well wishes to at the beginning.  It was so fast, I missed the name, but I thought she said someone from the ABC family.

I watched live today so didn't save the recording to go back & check, but I could have sworn that Whoopi said EH.  It was pretty fast.

What happened? Did they talk about Bitsy???

Bitsy is on an extended vacation from Faux News due to some illness, surgery, or something....the general consensus has been having the stick removed from her ass.... ;-)  Bitsy isn't saying what it is exactly that has her on leave, which is her right.  The thing is she took leave like a week or two ago, so the View is a little behind on wishing her condolences unless they know something that we don't.

Or Elisabeth (or her people) called up ABC and asked why the View hadn't sent get well wishes to her.  EH gets whiny when she thinks people aren't showing her the attention and respect she thinks she deserves.  Remember when some piggish online site put her on some list of women men would want to hate fuck?  She had a fit that NOW wouldn't issue a statement condemning the site because of  her placement on it.

I thought I heard something about the fact that they were extending the "bargain basement" sale from Monday.  If that is so, perhaps it wasn't such a success yesterday  and now they need to dump the overage?

I wonder why she (Whoopi) suddenly started to do it this season. Maybe to feel like she's maintaining control over the conversation somehow?

Hmmm.  All I could think about when Nicole said Whoopi kisses each of them backstage, was Michael Corleone kissing Fredo.  (Just kidding).

I thought that was hilarious!  It was extended until Thursday by popular demand, except  quantities are limited.  Haha!  I hated that flash sale and the prices weren't really any great deals anyway.

CMH1981, I think you nailed it. This may be the new View but Whoopi is becoming the new Babs minus the broadcasting skills.

I find it disturbing, too. The worst I've ever seen was that hologram performance of Michael Jackson at some awards show to promote his "new" album... It's like they signed away their existence to become products for music corporations. They can't escape, even in death.

I'm thinking that ABC/Disney made Whoopi an offer she couldn't refuse.(Thanks, Morgalisa!)  Stock options or something.

She's literally sitting in the hot seat.  She runs the show and nobody is calling her on her "Uh-huh's & Mmm-Hmm's" or her OTTop reactions.  Babs isn't there to annoy her like before, so the rolling eyes have disappeared - for the most part.

I'm just waiting for Whoopi to end the show with, "Take a little time to enjoy MY View."

I suspect Elisabeth has breast cancer, and the show found out the seriousness of her leave of absence from Fox.  I thought it was nice of them, but I hate when people say "I miss your face," it's such a weird saying.  And then the co-hosts starting murmuring about her face, "She's beautiful!".

Another pet peeve is Rosie always saying delicious.  It's just so creepy, like she is about to eat people.

I looked up the Bluetooth speaker that was promoted in the flash sale yesterday on Amazon because I was somewhat interested. The price on Amazon is $99 but the rnegative reviews are enough to make me stay away. I always wonder if things included in "sales" like these are ways to get rid of stuff with the occasional item or two thrown in to get a brand name out there.

Whoopi is driving me crazy too as is the communication problems the control room seems to keep having with some of the hosts.

Very creepy.  But the creepiest part to me, is that was not Whitney in the video.  Someone was lip synching to Whitney's voice.  I wonder if Whitney's family is okay with that.

My thought when they mentioned Bitsy, was that it's something serious and they didn't want to appear petty when the news comes out. The "we miss your face" also makes it sound less serious. Or I'm completely wrong.

Color me creeped as well.  I also wondered why Manilow could use the rights to Whitney's voice but not her image. Now it just gets creepier - the Barry Manilow's "Watch Me Sing Duets With Only Dead People" tour will feature all the dead artists (lookalikes) on video catered to look like they're interacting with Manilow onstage. Ick.

I don't know if any of ^^that^^ is true, but it wouldn't surprise me..

Barry Manilow singing with dead people while his face is so botoxed he looks like a wax figure is just creepy! I've always liked him, and I think he's talented , but why would he go that extreme ? He literally looks like he had no expression at one except one.

Neil Diamond was on Today, and he has aged, but I give him credit for not turning into a plastic Botox face with a tan like Barry!

I don't wish Elisabeth any bad illness, but I never miss her annoying face or voice! Hopefully she'll be ok and return to faux news and stay there.

Speaking of former cohosts, WTF is Sherri on GMA talking about her screwed up life.

It's so nice not having Dumb and Dumber in the View anymore ! Both are two ignorant, not bright people who got lucky. Whenever I get annoyed with annoyed with any of the current panel, I just have to think back to Elisabeth screeching and Sherri saying dumb, embarrassing things like she didnt know if the world was round, I find new so privatizing for the current panel.

Oh . . . this can't be a good sign that both yesterday & today (more, today) I was yelling at my t.v. "shut up" a lot of times. Rosie P. is really getting on my nerves the more time that goes on (and, no I can't really explain it), Nicole's wide-eyed amazement at celebrities, Whoopie's endless unh, unh, mmm, mmms -- I'm afraid my days are numbered & I had such high hopes when it first debuted. Hopefully, just needs some more "tweaking," but it's not looking good for me to continue (not that they really care).

I wasn't feeling good today and watched the show through closed eyes...so I guess I listened to the show--lying down.  Try that and those unh, unh, mmm, mmms will really drive you ka-razy!   The show is nicey-nice enough, but no longer interesting.  Do I like chaos?  Do I like disagreements?  I sure didn't think so, so what's my problem?

The muzzling of Rosie O continues to baffle.

I'm not even noticing "the muzzling," Fisher King, maybe because I think she's overbearing.  The lipstick is what continues to baffle.  She has an odd little mouth--and moves it in odd little ways.  Today (yesterday?) her lipstick was creeping into fine wrinkles above her lips.  I think she'd be better with some natural look...maybe just a moisturizing balm.  I should talk!

I think Whoopi has some kind of actor's Peter Pan syndrome in that she believes she is a compilation of the characters she's played. The wise sage, the tough chick and the seer. Add in her ego and it's becoming unbearable. It's tough for me, as a fan, to see more of her real personality all these years. I am starting to not even want to watch because of her. If anything, shutting up the uh huhs would be a good start.

Hate, HATE, HATE "we miss your face".  And any other variations on it.  I think people say it (someone like Whoopi) when they want to say something nice and it's a challenge.  So they say that.  To me, it comes off as insincere.

Of course no one wishes anything bad for Bits health wise and I know we all hope she's okay.  But hey, come on.  We all heard of her leave weeks ago, and if The View was going to wait at least two weeks to say something, why not yesterday?  Why not tomorrow?  Why today - Barry Manilow finally agreed to appear on the show (saw broken fragments of the show today - but I so wanted to see it - houseguests keep getting in my way! - leaving tomorrow though, hopefully before the show, lol).  It's not just a rumor, I think he did say and it was quoted that he wouldn't be on the show if he was required to sit on a couch with her.  I love Barry Manilow for his many talents, his writing, his songs, his performing, his love for his fans.  I think the mentioning of her today was disrespectful to him - why even mention her today of all days?  Like I said, they could have mentioned her any day this week or last week, it's not like there were no other days they could have said that.  But no one ever said that those behind The View were not vindictive.

I think Whoop's last egg dropped at least a decade ago.  But ain't it fun, kids, when she keeps playing the same jokes about herself over and over and over just to keep the attention on herself?

That is such a hilarious post on The View's Facebook, Medicine Crow.  Thank you for sharing that!  I loved Rosie's response, and have to admit I'm a little embarrassed by the Canadian comments - but we know most of us are not like that - thank goodness.

Love Sen. Elizabeth Warren.  I hope she runs, not walks, to her calling with wild abandonment, because she sure does appear destined to.  That's a candidate I'd certainly want on my side.  All good wishes to her.  This is someone to support.

Have to say I love not seeing so many women tottering around on 5/6" heels this season. On lots of shows, actually.

Or especially strutting 5/6" heels in the tightest of leggings, and covered by a "tunic" which was not really a tunic.  And it was not a dress of any kind.  It was an ill-fitting short blouse that did not fit in with the shoes, the tight leggings and the short top.  Don't know the name for that outfit, but do know that the outfit was not appropriate for The View, or for anything one may wish to appear on, properly dressed.

I really notice it when the camera is just on the person speaking and she does it from off camera so I bet it's really glaring when only mostly listening.

I'm not missing anything from last year, or as it's better known The Year of Barbara by Barbara Walters.   But I do think there are too many topics lately and a lot of them have been either rather lame or when they are interesting Whoopi rarely lets anyone else speak and by anyone else I  mean RO.  I know you aren't a fan Former Nun but she's why I tune in and I'm tired of Whoopi's bloviating all the time.

All the silence and mystery about her leave/surgery makes me think this is the case, didn't her mother have breast cancer?  As much as I cannot abide her, I hope we're wrong and it isn't anything that serious, and no matter what it is, healing thoughts to her.  Back to hating when she's well. ;)

Are Whoopi's interruptions just call back?  I started thinking about it today whilst I was annoyed with her doing it; you know like at church, when someone says something you wholeheartedly endorse and you call back, Uh-Huh, Oh Yeah!  I don't know, maybe I'm just making excuses.  I just wish she'd stop.

Wow at that Twitter exchange!  Thanks for the share.

Speaking of being creeped out, I give you Mike Tyson.  ::shudder::

Finally, I really want Elizabeth Warren to run, even if it's just to join Bernie Sanders in pushing Hillary back to the left.  That said, (of course I'd vote for her if she were the nominee) I do have some of the same concerns about her that I had about Obama - that have proven true, with regard to inexperience.

Oh Nicolle, you did NOT just endorse pig castrating, 2nd amendment nut Joni Ernst, did you?

I have to admit, it is odd that they chose today of all days to give a shout out to Elisabeth. The news broke of her mysterious health issue back on October 15th. Why not on Monday when they were already doing the other acknowledgments?

Mike Tyson - I have no use for him whatsoever and I'm sick of him popping up on my television and in random films etc. I don't understand the entertainment industry's obsession with that guy.

Okay, I've given the new set a week and a half and I'm just not feeling it. I'm really hating the overabundance of orange. It's fine as an accent color in small doses but the way they're doing it is too much and too harsh. It actually hurts my eyes. Half the time it clashes with their outfits and it's particularly unflattering for poor Nicolle from certain camera angles. She just fades away. Stick with the blues and then warm it up a bit with more accents like the wine color of the new chairs. Speaking of chairs, I think they look much more comfortable with the new table and chairs, but the table isn't really the right color. It's slightly darker than the flooring but not enough to be a clear and complementary contrast. It ends up looking like they meant it to match and missed the mark.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is a national treasure. Love her.

I have been hoping Bernie would get some traction and have been putting his name out whenever anyone talks about Hillary.  Elizabeth would be excellent too.

I cringed when Nicole put Barbara Comstocks name out in the wind for Virginia. Ad clips show her speaking all the rightwing platform points that women and families with need of stem cell research should avoid voting into office.

I can see why people were creeped out by the Manilow/Houston duet, but I was just listening, not watching, and it sounded fantastic.  I may look into getting the cd  if the other tracks sound as wonderful as this one.

I adore Elizabeth Warren and would love to see her run for president.  She is the only politician I can think of who was 1) reluctant to run and 2) truly has the best interests of the citizens of this country in mind rather than her own.

I wish the producers wouldn't jam so much into a half hour.  What an odd combination; Mike Tyson, Elizabeth Warren, Barry Manilow, and DwtS.  Knock off two guests (*cough*TysonDwtS*cough*) and spend more than 5 minutes talking with the others.

Sorry to hear about Elisabeth H's illness, especially if it is breast cancer.  Hope she does well with treatment.

Honestly I dont see how "war is the answer".... we have been engaged for over 10 years.... killing and maiming.... waging war.... but still ISIS exists.... still our people are being killed.... after 10+ years of war.... what problem has it answered??

Remember why Syria and Iraq exists right now.... It was an agreement between the UK and France...... not the people in the areas..... but outside forces..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sykes%E2%80%93Picot_Agreement

How would Rosie propose dealing with a terror group who is lining the roads with heads of innocent victims and taping girls tied to trees in between beheadings ? How should Hilter have been dealt with.

I have no problem with Rosie having an armed security guard and bring against war, but sadly at times there is not much of a choice.

To say war is never an answer is unrealistic. I think most war is not necssary, but should we gave let Hitter continue to gas Jews, or anyone he felt disbt fit in his world? I agree, we made new problems going to Iraq and IMO Bush and Cheney were criminal in lying and pushing for this war. I was never for it. But we created an environment for ISIS, and to let them terrorize without intervening seems wrong.

I actually like Risie and agree with most of her opinions, but I do think she escaped reality from a horrible childhood with an obsession for fantasy sitcoms and celebrities , which is understandable. And at times she still is simplistic and in the 79's sitcom fantasy world.

This is my biggest grievance with all of these types of shows.  I have heard the powers that be blame it on the short attention spans of the viewers.  Which is a big pile of horse shit.  Even worse than daytime talk / entertainment shows are the morning shows; especially Today.  I gave up watching those things years ago because they were literally stressing me out so bad because the hosts are always rushing-rushing-rushing!!!  I can't handle that shit because I pick up on their nervous energy; I have enough trouble not being neurotic on my own.

The only show that doesn't seem to pack 5 guests into one show and actually has somewhat substantial interviews is Live with Kelly and Michael.  But I can't watch that either because of Kelly Ripa.  So I seem to be stuck with The View.

This stance always amazes me.... I hear it in our media and from politicians too often. The simple response to this type of comment (which we never hear) is the country is Iraq and it belongs to the Iraqi people. The reason ISIS grew is not because of America but because of the leaders of Iraq..... we left because Maliki (and Iran) wanted us gone..... and when we left his political policies caused more unrest.

The time has come for the Middle East countries to handle their own problems..... that is why we stayed out of the Syrian Civil War.... it is their fight.... they stepped over the line when they used chemical weapons.... and we handled that... by removing chemical weapons from Syria... but we stayed out of their civil war

Pat Buchanan, is that you? ;) Just kidding, Roger, you know I love you, but I have to say history shows isolation is often no more of a solution than intervention (and that's all I'll say about that because this is a View board and not Intro to International Relations 101). With respect to Rosie's commentary that "killing is always wrong/war is never the answer," while being shadowed by armed bodyguards, the woman would do well to not speak in absolutes when reality is actually grey, ash grey, slate grey, gunmetal grey, metallic grey and even Seattle grey. Justin Beiber is mocked because of his behavior, not his musical abilities.

Taylor Swift uses her personal life as inspiration for her songs.  Jason Derullo currently has a song that is supposedly inspired by his personal life. Most artists use their own experiences when creating their art.  But I do find it a little sexist that Taylor Swift is written off as being less talented because of it.
