Whatshername who play Paulina is the WORST actress on Show these days, bar none.  She huffs, she puffs, she sputters and stutters and does everything but inflate like a birthday balloon.

Someone put a pin in her, she's done.

She is always terrible. But yesterday's show was the worst. What kind of governor will she be, or will the big secret take care of that. Hopefully it will and she leaves.

She still acts like she is on a sitcom that's the problem

Soap timelines are so wacky. How are Brady and Kirsten being played by actors who could have gone to high school together? (Assuming Haiduk is being honest about her 1968 birth year because I swear to god it used to be 1966.)

Oh, I love Paulina lol. I think she should read Stephanie for filth at least once a week.

I love Jackée, she's a legend and I give her a lot of slack for her performance.  Paulina chewing out Stephanie was hilarious.

Not looking forward to this lame triangle between Chad/Stephanie/Alex. The actress doesn't click with either of her co-stars. And why are they writing her so helpless and incompetent?

Yea, the character is a dud and this love triangle is an even bigger dud. They should just cut her/it before it gets worse lol.

If she was going to lie about her age why not take more years off.

I was shocked at how poorly John Aniston was on the ep. The house is huge and Sarah and Xander have plenty of space and don’t have to even see Victor.

Alex did a nice save by putting the file in to Maggie’s bag and giving Holly the candy. It is odd to find an apartment building that opens to kids on Halloween.

Charlotte, cousin Stephanie lived across the country. So no, you may not have met her since you were a baby.

Ava, imagining Charlie is not good for your mental health. LOL at Susan Banks trying to get the spirits to talk to her. Charlie did give some good advice to his mom about Xander needing a job.

Show was a no-go for me the minute Susan Banks showed up.  I just couldn't take another micro-second of her screeching lunacy.  Earlier, there'd been more of Sloane's imitation of Bugs Bunny as a cross-dresser, Alex's imitation of an adult man operating without an actual brain and Maggie trick or treating with Holly in some random apartment building for no apparent reason, as well as Victor being a prick for, again, no reason.

I think when my Peacock month is up I'm going to cancel.  Yeah, it's cheap but paying for this crap seems ridiculous.  The whole show is like making Weekend at Bernie's a series.

You'd think, with people PAYING for this shit, that Ron would at least TRY to make the show watchable...but no.

Well, he is likely a huge reason this crapfest is no longer on broadcast to begin with, but still.

Usually the Halloween episode is campy and at least tries to be fun.  This episode was just so flat and boring.  Other than Ava seeing her undead son, there was nothing to indicate it was even Halloween.

The ONLY saving grace was using the classic line from "Psycho" - "A boy's best friend is his mother."  Maybe if they had spent the episode seeing how many classic lines they could insert it would have at least been somewhat amusing.

Because we are Comcast subscribers, we get Peacock for "free". But otherwise, based on the comments here, doubtful I would have signed up for Peacock as a separate streaming service.

Maggie should have a little more backbone to Victor.  Her daughter was kidnapped and missing a year, then brain damaged, she finally gets her under the same roof and Victor treats them like that. He didn't think of Maggie and how she'd feel at all.  She should have flipped out at him.

And HERE is where the angle that makes sense would be Sarah and Xander - NOT GWEN - moving to the Horton household. Unlike Gwen, Sarah IS a Horton, adopted or not. Alice and Tom were HER grandparents.

THEY should go there. Gwen should sleep on a fucking park bench or in a sewer.

Maggie should not be writing Sarah a cheque. Surely Victor owns some apartments that he could give to Sarah and Xander. But that means a new set.

Yeah, the Hotel Hideaway is a great place with Sarah looking for roaches. Uh, check for bedbugs too! Maggie has no Rubbermaid or Tupperware containers to bring her lemon bars?

Ava looked good in her wig. I enjoyed the Xander Downtown Abbey comment. I have never seen the show but I also called it Downtown. EJ, Xander is like looking in a mirror. You goaded the guy to seriously take Ava up on her offer.

Paulina is a wishy washy flake. Very few assistants would last with her. I would get tired of being bulldozed like that. Stephanie will be glad when Paulina pays her bills and then she won’t have to deal with that difficult client.

Alex, Stephanie may never want you. But this is Salem, and pickings are slim and the town is good at recycling.

Chanel, you have a short term houseguest who you take to task because she is friendly with and working with your ex husband of a few weeks? Maybe you are not into Allie as much. Nice of Johnny to fix Wendy’s sweater for her.

What I don't get is all this recycled Eric/Nicole crap. Cover models? As soon as they get together again and destroy other people, they will break up again. Of course, Jada will be pregnant, but I would rather see her have the kid with Rafe.

It is hard to even read summaries again. As soon as I see Kristen's name, I skip over that section.

People are seriously still shipping Brady and Kristen.. what part of letting 3 women die unless I get to play at being a family do People think is romantic?

It worked  for Abby and the show had her to take a month with her grandmother to be healed and she was able to move on to marry a few more times and  raise 2 children. Instead of Kayla , it was Vivian who almost died along with Kate and Marlena.

Johnny is the worst, he's hating his dad for what he did to Ava and Chad? What about what Chad did to EJ? Or what Ava did to "favorite stepdad Rafe".  I guess what she does to grandma will be justified too.

Nicole can't message/call Eric they need to go into Titan? She had to go in person.

Eric put his phone to silent so he didn’t get any calls or texts. Maybe Roman is on his honeymoon so he couldn’t knock on Eric’s door.

I can see Bella using an older Nicole for a cover.

Yeah, Rafe, so what if Nicole took some photos.

Nice save, Wendy. Some IT folks do drop a phone. You are on to something.

Kristen - finding Chloe a new job at DiMera?

Who will take photos if smoldering Eric is to be the model with Nicole?

  • Love 3

I think the guy playing Li gets better with every scene.  Sort of the reverse of how SH as Kristen gets worse with every scene.

And then there's RSW who's just a bad smell no matter what he does.

No offense to AZ, but she and Eric, as good-looking as they both are, belong far more on the cover of AARP monthly or one of those annoying ads for Activia with people dancing than trying to revitalize a fashion magazine.

Question - isn't Basic Black owned by DiMera?  Why is Alex telling them what to do?

Boes, we'd be lost without you.

@boes, I agree with @DisneyBoy--this forum wouldn't be the same without your hilarious comments. But I also couldn't blame you for checking out of this show.  I have Peacock as part of my cable package so I'm not even paying for it, and I can't muster the enthusiasm to tune in.  I've seen maybe a half dozen episodes to date and three of those were yesterday while taking down Halloween decorations.  I realized that absence from this show did not make the heart grow fonder.  All I saw was lackluster storylines, couples with no chemistry, and grown ass adults who can't find their own place to live.   Sarah seems to have become even more insufferable. Queen Kristin looked like an old hag. Forty-something Nicole with her thin hair and the worst color/root job both sides of the Mississippi would have been laughable as a lingerie cover model if it wasn't so lame.  And while killer clowns peeping into EJ's windows had potential, it ultimately turned out to be a letdown.

I have been out of town, visiting Grandkids, so I'm trying to catch up.  I did enjoy the scenes with Xander & Ava having a 'secret" convo in the Town Square, Ava being very 'alluring spy" in her blond wig.  Downtown Abby made me laugh, and the angry dust-up between Xander & EJ made me laugh too.  Ari Zucker is an attractive woman, but she needs to be on the cover of AARP or Good Housekeeping not some sexy fashion magazine.  Nicole has turned into such a sap.  I am happy the show acknowledged Johnny & Rafe's relationship, I loved when Johnny was little & wanted to be an FBI guy like Rafe & Rafe gave him a special jacket to wear.  Susan Banks makes me laugh, she is so over the top!  Having everybody running around in the same creepy clown costume was funny.   I like that we had some different groupings of people, like the Town Square scene with Johnny & Gabi & Gabi questioning Wendy.  I am really enjoying the Wendy character.

Oh Brisby...I shouted "Shut Up Ben!" repeatedly at the screen. And I knew full well he was Alex.

...this new character really brings into focus just how utterly lousy an actor he is. His performance is unchanged. The dialogue is just worse. Can we all agree now that he's terrible? Please?

Also terrible? Gabi in pink.

Her conversation with Smirky Stefan (knock it off, BB!) only served to remind me of how much I hated their original pairing. Yes, he DID obsess over (and rape!) Abigail, send you to prison and inadvertently cause you to get beaten to the point of infertility. That's....hard to type out. I cannot ship this couple. Thanks for reminding me why, Show. He is awful.

Nice to see Susan again and with both her boys, even if she seemed thrown in arbitrarily. This was actually the most calm performance SH has given as Susan.

Sigh.

I love me some Ericole but cooooooommmme oooooooonnnnnnn. 🙄The hell is this shit....?  They're "perfect" for the cover? How so?

And that ugly green nightgown....

And Benalex fake snapping photos from a foot away going "oh yeah baby beautiful that's it awww yeah" like some amateur pornographer from the 70s.

...such a crappy, tired way to reunite them.

Most of the time I don't actually "watch" the show (I'm usually doing something else while listening to it) but I did see this episode.  All I could think was, could her hair get any more lank and lackluster?  There is no way that would ever even be in a magazine (much less on the cover) unless it was for a medical journal article on hair thinning.

Agreed, 300%  I had some residual goodwill left over from when he first appeared on the online reboot of All My Children many moons ago, but I'd thought that had all been drained away during his stint as the world's most loved serial killer.

But now he's even WORSE.  He's an utter moron and a lounge lizard throwback to some time so far back I can't even remember.  The man is slimy to everyone and you can practically see him ooze his own self-regard all over the set.

There's not enough Orange Glow or Febreze in the world to make this stain go away.

So I marathoned this week's episodes last night/this morning. Overall not a bad week.

1. I like Wendy. I like Wendy and Johnny together. I still don't like Johnny as an individual character. I'm not quite certain why they care so much about Stefan's brainwashing. When Wendy asked Johnny "which grandma?" It took me several seconds to remember Marlena was his grandma. That should be reprehensible on my part, but I can't remember the two sharing scenes since the Devil possession.

2. Sarah has to be the most inconsistently written/acted character on the show. She dramatically changes based on her scene partner and not in a way that feels natural. She goes from comedic relief, to competent doctor, to woman wronged, but they don't feel like complicated emotions/personalities/motivations all in the same person. They feel like different characters. I'm also confused why the show is writing her as destitute. She's a doctor, Maggie is wealthy from two different marriages (Mickey and Victor), Mickey was a lawyer for decades, so it seems implausible that he wouldn't have a trust set up for Sarah. Am I really supposed to believe Sarah/Xander can't even afford the Salem Inn, and that Sarah HORTON would live in a roach infested motel in Salem. The Sarah/Rachel scenes did tug on my heart as much as I wanted. Also, where was Marlena? They literally live with a doctor, and this wasn't mentioned at all. I think the actress is seriously miscast as a Horton. There's just nothing about her that feels similar to Julie, Jennifer, Hope, Ciara, Abby. All of whom are different characters, but there is something that feels "Horton" about them.

3.I like the Stefan/Chloe scenes in a platonic way. My issue with them is the same one I had several years ago. Stefan doesn't seem himself around Chloe. He seems like he's trying to be a better man, and that could be interesting if the show explored that. The show doesn't, so I wonder why he feels the need to be good for Chloe. He feels like his true nasty self with Gabi/Gabby. He also seems to constantly try to make some grand gesture for Chloe instead of trying to connect with her. Chloe doesn't seem romantically interested in Stefan. I don't think the "bad boy" type has ever really been Chloe's style. I guess there's Philip, but I don't think Philip was ever really a "bad boy" around Chloe, especially once out of high school. Chloe is in the same vulnerable emotional state she was in last time these two were together. Last time El Fideo's men were trying to kill her, the Lucas breakup was still fresh, and Holly "died" while in Chloe's custody. Stefan was a hero to Chloe not a man. We see this same dynamic with Chloe's emotional pain regarding Kristen. Stefan is a hero, not a man. But since Stefan is no hero, it's hard to say that she's falling in love with him. These two simply don't know each other. I don't mean they're not spending time with eachother. They are. They aren't truly getting to know the other person however.

4.I think the show needs to ask itself how important a character is if you need to constantly bring offscreen characters into the narrative. The show feels the need to bring in Rex for Sarah because outside of Xander, she's not particularly close to anyone. I am including Maggie in this. For Ava, the show has to bring in ghost son, Charlie, since she's not particularly close to anyone. Then we have to get several annoying texts from Tripp. The show has to bring in Tony for EJ. If there's no one who is regularly on canvas for a character to connect with, it's time for that character to go.

5. I actually liked seeing the A and B casts intermingle. It feels like some type of umbrella storyline is beginning to brew.

EJ needs a love interest. And not just wait around for Sami to appear one week out of the year. They are wasting him.

This is why they should've committed to EJ/Nicole or EJ/Belle long term if they aren't going to do anything with him they might as well have had him and Sami live HEA offscreen.

Not to point fingers but..I would prefer not to crap on Ari's looks. She's a beautiful woman who lasted years on this show because of her looks and talent.

Is this spontaneous cover model stuff BS? Of course...but photo comparisons? She's still a babe.

Now...I missed a bit this week: why is Xandy kidnapping Susie? Wasn't he flying straight?

For some reason, him and Sarah, who is a doctor, can't afford anywhere to live so he needed to get a job. Ava said she'd pay him to kidnap Susan (as part of Ava's revenge plan for EJ).

Seriously....

....just to pay some rent...??

Was Sarah fired over her hallucinations of something?

No, apparently she is only part time at the hospital during her probationary period, due to her mental health issues.  Supposedly the probationary period ends soon.

Before I rant about the absurdity of this plot. I will say the only thing realistic is the "probationary " aspect.

So we are pretending a "part time" doctor can't afford an apartment in Salem? Sure Jan. Also Sarah mentioned that she was gone for a year so she has no savings.  What? What happened to the savings she had when kidnapped?

Also let's not pretend that the Kiriakis mansion isn't big enough for Xander and Victor to avoid each other.
