I liked the Alex dream with him, Stephanie and Chad. I laughed.

Alex may be a skank but he was decent and respectful and funny with Chanel and Allie. Both ladies were awesome and I think that Chanel had a good line about him being a bit awkward in that he is in love with both of them and then a good laugh.

Oh, is she going by Wendy?  At least they're having Li call her by her birth name.  I thought Remington Hoffman was good in those scenes with her.  One of the few times I didn't feel like I was watching him "acting".

How curious that the Show mentioned The Manchurian Candidate on the day of Lansbury's passing.  She was chilling in that film.  Probably my favorite performance of hers.  

I don't know if it was intentional but I liked how Stefan's flashback to a Gabi moment was dark and cloudy, like a real memory.  

I keep forgetting that Stefan had a more rigid personality and get slightly confused as to why I'm seeing Brandon Barash on my screen and he isn't behaving like Jake.

Unless the Show Runners were lying, I don't think they found out until right before the audience was told of the switch over.  This would have been filmed at least 6 months ago, and the scenes written even before that.  I'm assuming NBC would have edited out what They didn't like and left more to the audience's imagination.  They had been editing the Show for quite awhile, from my understanding.

So my okay-ing of Chanel/Alex/Allie isn't because they're simply young and hot. It didn't reek of competition and desperation. And the "intimacy coordinator" did a great job 🙂

Ken and Ron have said that we won't see the stuff filmed for Peacock till Jan/Feb.  I think it's far more likely NBC saw what was filmed for this Fall that was originally planned for Network, shook their heads, and made a much easier decision.

So Alex drops in at Stephanie’s place aka her mom and dad’s, finds Chad there and presumes he and Steph hooked up. He was close and it is pretty similar to him wanting to hook up with her while working for him.

What is in the blackmail file that Paulina wants to end her run for Governor? Should that not have been hidden better so nothing comes out? Who is her opponent? The story seems silly. Sloan sure is hungry for the cash. What is the motive?

Li is trying to save his hide. Probably should not have told EJ that he brought Stefan back. Gabi will be picked up by Titan or blackmail her way back.

Johnny, you don’t know Wendy but I guess both of you would make a good team.

I know I've seen Sloan Peterson in scenes before, but today I finally realized that Sloan Peterson is actually 

Jessica Rabbit.  Without, of course the subtlety and talent.

Then we were introduced to Shen's little sister, the exact opposite of J. Rabbit, except for the lack of talent.  Though, to be fair, she got better as the show went on.

It's hard to say that RSW's new character is worse than his run as the world's most romantic serial killer, but it's at least a tie.  He's obviously been living under a rock so why doesn't someone drop a really big one ON his head?

Show should think twice about having Paulina play "indignant".  I was afraid there was going to be a spanx explosion that could have taken out the whole studio.

They can show me a million and one flashbacks of Kate and Roman being in lurve and I'll still think they're as dull as dishwater.

In theory, I like the idea of mining history for current storylines but there's nothing about this Orchid Redux that feels thoughtful or introspective, especially for mature characters who could be having interesting conversations about life and death.  

Let me guess....Brady has to marry Kristen in order to save Marlena and her BFFs.

We were told that Henry is with Nicole. Since we saw Nicole this episode, Henry is either in the wash or back with Allie.

This episode had some real, real, real bad acting.

I've never been a Stayla family fan, and this episode did nothing to change my mind. I missed the heyday of Stayla in the 80s/90s, and I found every single storyline they had since 2006 to be terrible. I didn't like SH's Stephanie, and this new Stephanie is even worse. She plays Stephanie like a hormonal 15-year-old. The scene with her screaming at John and on the ground with the orchid was embarrassing. Tripp has always been terrible and time away has not given him an opportunity for improvement. This is my first time seeing this new Joey - I assume he was introduced during BS2. I didn't watch that series. However, he played every scene like he was forgetting his lines three seconds before he had to recite them.

Next, shouldn't there be some animosity between Tripp/Joey considering Joey "killed" Ava. I wouldn't expect that to be the focus since Kayla is dying, but considering the Kayla/Tripp history and the Joey/Ava history, Joey/Tripp don't seem like they should be this close. 

As much as it pains me to say this, but I hope we get an Ava/Joey scene. I think the scene would be horrible between Ava's smirking and Joey's 3 second long pauses between words, but attempted murder should have some type of repercussion. 

Lastly, Steve. While I appreciate that Days does a good job with avoiding agism. We still see the older characters be heroes, in love scenes, finding love, in careers, and they still seem like whole people. That being said, SN has got to stop playing Steve like a 22-year-old. I know DH/John will never will an acting award, but he does a much better job of showing a tough guy who has matured, is more balanced, and more controlled. Steve just seems like a 22-year-old hothead that Kayla and John are constantly trying to reel in from his latest emotional outburst. I know he's been "dead" and brainwashed for a good 20 something years of his life, but he should still at least have the emotional maturity of a 35 year old.  He and this version of Stephanie seemed to have inherited a Peter Pan complex.

Nicole/Chloe were awkwardly cut into this episode. 

I usually like Eric/Jade scenes, but Eric kept misdirecting his anger at her. Considering the circumstances, that would be understandable, but neither the acting nor the writing for Jade seem to indicate she was registering this mistreatment. Seemed out-of-character for Jada.

I can't decide if John wanting to throw the vial without even having it tested by a medical professional was out-of-character or an understandable explosion of what he's been going through lately. This kinda sums up the difference in Steve and John for me. I would expect Steve to be hotheaded and do it without a second thought. With John, I'm unsure. I know it's supposed to be a reaction to the orchid Orpheus sent, but they are at a University Hospital. Wouldn't it make more sense to just get it tested. Sarah isn't doing anything else but contemplating more haircuts I would hate.

Kristen's plan seem like it would make more sense if she forced Brady to marry her. DOOL universe characters do still seem to hate divorce even if they no longer want to or never wanted to be married to their partner. Also, Kristen/Brady have never gotten married.

With the housing crisis in Salem, I wondered if they and Rachel would live in Jake's one-bedroom studio, in the ever-expanding condo of Jarlena, or in the room were Abby was just murdered in the Dimera Mansion. It would be a good time to teach Rachel about blood splatter and the proper way to clean up a crime scene.

Stayla's original story  other than that stupid Marina retcon was awesome because they had good writers and I also hated every story they have had since 2006.  The only Stefanie that I liked was the original because the show attempted to make her a heroine that was not generic and boring.. I also thought that she had good chemistry with EJ.

I loved seeing all the Johnson kids together.  The guy playing Joey has potential. Hope he's sticking around.  Cried when Steve was feeing Kayla the pizza and Kayla was crying because her entire family was there.  MBE was good there.

I liked Stayla story in 07 when Steve was brainwashed. I also liked Ava kidnapping Stayla and Bope in 08.   Under Ron I liked Steve being blind but like all of Ron stories it never reaches its full potential.

MBE always brings it when the scene is written well.

My whole problem with the Stayla story in 2007 stemmed from Kayla being a celibate and not having a life outside of Steve.  Whereas Steve was able to have one with that odious Ava and even fathered another child.

Brady is not particularly bright and he has forgiven/fallen for Kristen multiple times in the past after she has done horrible, criminal acts against his family (stealing his son in vitro, trying to kill Marlena, kidnapping/drugging Sami, paralyzing Paul, threatening to shoot his family members at another Marlena/John wedding, stabbing Victor).  The most recent breakup has lasted longer because she tried to kill Chloe but that doesn't mean that he couldn't fall for Kristen again.

I think he will just tell them that he realizes that Rachel needs them to be together so he is doing it for her sake, not that he loves Kristen. And I am sure that Kristen will have Rolf say that the women will need an annual updated booster or something, but once they start feeling better, I am sure that someone can steal the serum and Brady can escape his hell. Or, they will get Rolf on something and he will use this as a bargaining chip and sell her out. Wouldn't it be great if Chloe announces that she is pregnant? We already anticipate that Eric and Nicole will find their way back to each other and Jada will announce her pregnancy. (SPECULATION, but come on!!)

Not going to lie, I really thought the idea for Allie and Chanel was for them to be living in lesbian domestic bliss while raising Henry a la what they did with Mariah on the Young and the Restless. That pretty much seemed to be where they were going with all this. I'm kind of baffled by what they're doing instead. Although I guess we still got a few more obstacles before the inevitable wedding that Paulina will no doubt officiate, with a broom and all.

My problem with it is that I know them as Stefan and Katherine on General Hospital and I kind of just really preferred those characters over Steve and Kayla.

I eventually warmed up to them, but eh, Stefan was hot and he had so much potential with Katherine. A part of me kind of wanted Steve to stay Stevano because it was kind of like having back a version of Stefan Cassadine.

Budgets are so limited these days that it's kinda nice when you see an entire family together. Like we could never possibly see all of Marlena and John's kids/stepkids together but they were able to do that with Kayla and with Kate. (Somewhat.)

EJ owns the DiMansion and she was mad at him for not being his attorney when she was arrested last time and sent to prison. She voted against him and for Gabi in one of the CEO Dimera votes. Eventually she is going to have to ask EJ if she could move back in once she gets sick living over the garage.

 Ron would do the jumping the broom with a lesbian interracial couple getting married in order to be "woke" just because Chanel is black.  Chanel should be single and Allie should be gone.. I may be in the minority but I preferred the original Chanel. 

I actually think the original Chanel was better in retrospect I felt like they were more willing to let her be shady longer... she also had better chemistry with LA's Allie than this one who I think clicks with Johnny above all else.

I like both Chanels. They're pretty much different characters. I definitely enjoyed Precious Way more though. I almost wish they'd bring her back but also still keep Raven Bowens as a new character. Or bring PW back as a new character that's just like her version of Chanel lol.
