And no, Kelly, being able to ride a bike has nothing to do with being good at sex.  FFS Kelly talks about her sexual prowess so much.  No one cares.  The more she says the more I think it's all bullshit.

I hate how, just....*base* she is.  I’ll admit that every once in a blue she’ll have a “broken clock is right twice a day” moment.

But she’s just...ignorant and annoying and who gave her a platform and why?!

a few bravo-related podcasts and Instagram pages that I follow have abandoned this show this season b/c they’re disgusted by her views

im not gonna go *that* far, of course, but whenever KD is on my screen I’m just thinking “ugh shut up!”

Shannon - I'm actually on her side about this. I thought her girls were snarky and disrespectful. They broke Shannon's rules which were in place to keep COVID from coming in and that's exactly what happened. Yes, Shannon is theatrical but how can you say she wasn't right?

Elizabeth - At least she admits she's a liar...

Kelly -  Rick is so uncomfortable to watch on Fox because he's trying to come off as a "serious" journalist yet apparently according to Kelly he'd be better in porn.

Emily - She did a 180 toward her sick husband. She didn't seem very relieved he was getting better and chastised him for his "dramatic" text. Very strange because she was so distraught right before he went into the hospital.

Gina - She's got a lot of baggage and an unbelievably understanding boyfriend.

Braunwyn - Sorry not sorry she dug up dirt on Elizabeth. Now she's holding Elizabeth's dark secrets about abuse. Surely this will not end well for either of them.

This is true of a lot of alcoholics. They don’t want to vomit up food.

It wouldn’t surprise me if BW says that she has an eating disorder at some point.

Regarding covid, it's so difficult to know what's real any more, at least for me. In LA county, there's no outdoor dining but shop til you drop in an indoor mall is allowed?  I don't get the logic.

Shannon could have been taking different covid tests where the timing of the results vary.  And she may have remained in her car to get the tests - it depends on where she went.  And she has mentioned many times that she has weak lungs, which you'd think she'd have breathing techniques to help her remain calm so she doesn't start hyperventilating and make things worse.

Bottom line - her girls shouldn't have snuck out to party but, once they did and tested positive, the Shannon's Rules ship had sailed. Shannon could be disappointed, angry and concerned all at the same time, which she probably was.  But she shouldn't have gone to another house to isolate with and potentially expose someone else  - I don't understand why she did that.

It almost seemed like Shannon wanted to test positive so she could bask in her victim status while blaming her daughters. I feel for them. They will likely end up attending ACA or Alanon meetings to deal with the codependency they developed living with a narcissistic, histrionic mother. I don't know how John stands her.

Yes, I definitely got the impression that she kept getting tested because she was hoping for a positive result.  She even said to her daughters that she was expecting a more emotional reaction from them.  She was clearly disappointed that they weren't hysterically crying from fear and guilt.

I do agree that they were wrong for breaking her rules and bringing the virus home for the sake of a party.  I just can't stand Shannon's emotional blackmail.  She isn't even displaying serious symptoms.  Meanwhile Emily is also positive, dealing with a severely ill (hospitalized) husband, and taking care of 3 small children without complaining.  I agree with the other poster who hoped that Shannon notices the contrast when she sees it.

I also wonder: did the other party-goers at the maskless one her daughter got busted at all also have COVID?

Did Shannon stay home the entire time of quarantine, never leaving her house for a second other than to get tested?  She was diagnosed in July with COVID.  So she never left the house from March - July?  I don't buy it.  Those dermal fillers don't fill themselves.  My guess is like a lot of people, she talked a big fucking game about quarantining from March to now, but managed to make sure she got out to get her hair cut, her nails done, dermal fillers done, and other non-essential stuff despite this lung damage that her quack probably diagnosed.

Not excusing her daughters but they are kids and kids do stupid shit because they don't have a fear of mortality.  I know people who did everything right -- stayed home, wore masks, rarely left the house other than an occasional grocery store trip where everyone around them had masks on and they still got it. I also know people who lived in the same household where one had COVID-19 and no one else tested positive or where sick at all.  It's crazy.

I will not disagree with you on any of this, I was a victim of domestic violence and I am extremely lucky I actually got out alive. Thank goodness we didn’t have children together because that would have been a living hell for said kids.

Never ever would I suggest there should not be serious consequences for Matt’s behavior, because there should be. I, too, would rather work ten jobs than have my abuser out on the street. (Well, sadly he is since I filed for divorce in 1991 - I tried to warn his family, but that was useless- the best I could do over the years has been to say a prayer for anyone of his subsequent victims).

I merely said that Kelly was being pragmatic- which she was. If Matt ends up in jail or prison and/or convicted of a felony, that has serious consequences as to how he can financially support his children going forward. That impacts Gina’s live and her livelihood. It is important for Gina to be aware of all factors prior to making a decision.

I am sorry that I didn’t do a good job of explaining my point in my previous post.

No, you did a good job, and I agree. Gina is better off with Matt being able to earn a living so he can support his kids. Leave it Kelly to always focus on the money, but she made sense. Him being in prison might be justice, but it’s not the best thing for his kids.

I thought of all the women in bathing suits, she was the least attractive. Liz has a bodacious figure, Gina looks good with extra weight, and Kelly is an example of some one who is fit and physically strong without all that definition. I think Tamra is too ripped too, but she’s strong as hell and could snap Brawler Whinny in half.

I agree!  I thought Braunwyn looked too sinewy, too...ripped.  But her stomach stuck out, even with her abs showing.  I thought she looked weird.

Too sinewy was a word I was going to use too!

I don't think Elizabeth looks bad either.  She's got some chunk on her to lose, and I think the ass is real.  I have an ass on me too w/o injections and it gets bigger or smaller depending on my weight!  I bet the thinner version of Liz  was a killer bod.  Her face is really pretty.  I mean, she landed a billionaire.

That's what I didn't get.  The minute Shannon tested positive, why didn't John leave?  Or, to put it on Shannon, why didn't she isolate?  There wasn't a 100% probability that he was already infected, so why run the risk?

It makes me wonder if he was taking it all that seriously, and hey, Shannon--a big part of protecting oneself choosing not to be around people who aren't taking it as seriously as you are.  Sure, there's tragically little one can do to influence teenagers' behavior, but John is a grown man, and is someone you're choosing to be around.

I'm convinced that if you have a face full of dermal filters, you have to wear a face full of makeup b/c otherwise, it looks even scarier without makeup.  I mean, she and other HWs could ease up on the eye makeup, but I've noticed that all those fillers seem to make their eyes look sunken so without makeup it looks really bad.

Interesting.  For years, I've thought most women look better without makeup--fresher and younger.  But certainly among these women, that's definitely not the case.  It never occurred to me that fillers were to blame, but it makes sense.

The religious 'cult' that Elizabeth claims abused her as a child was a rural Christian Pentecostal church.  She makes fun of them when in the kitchen with Kelly by laughing merrily and saying,"Those psycos who go around and stand on tables and speak in tongues" while she's running around the kitchen in her silly Amazon bikini bottoms (not recommended for Amazonian bottoms by the way Elizabeth) holding her hands up and smiling.  In fact she light heartedly tells of her grandmother asking her to speak in tongues in front of the church when she was a child and how she babbled nonsense to make them happy.  (smiling as if all a huge joke) Then she smugly states,'' That wazzz the exact day when I realized that adults were full of sh*t and I could lie to get my way."  From the looks of her family in pictures, they were attending rural churches in North Carolina-- not some 'cult'.  She is making up a STORYLINE for herself as she speaks.  You can see it coming to her.  She's been discovered to be a fake and now she has to come up with something to cause sympathy and this is her story.  Right from her lips she tells how she does it,''I could lie to get my way."  So now her pentecostal church becomes a cult she had to escape from.

I can not stand 1. Her silly body.  2. her silly constant smile 3. her laugh after every statement 4. her.  I don't know who she is after this many episodes-- but what I do know is I don't want to know who she is anymore! Boring and false.

Just because there is a larger faith tradition associated with Pentecostalism doesn't mean that the particular she belonged to wasn't a cult. There are plenty of traditional denominations that have cult-like elements to it. A cult isn't just relegated to things like Scientology, for instance.  Even within the Catholic Church, to which I belong, there are groups that meet the definition of a cult.

Elizabeth could be lying about her experience. But it's definitely not uncommon for cult-like congregations to exist within more traditional denominations and for physical abuse to be a part of it. So the mere fact that Elizabeth claimed she was part of the Pentecostal tradition does not IMO disprove her claim.

I am inclined to believe she experienced abuse as a child, whether or not it was part of a cult, because she definitely seems like a people-pleaser and very uncomfortable in her skin.

John thought it was just a matter of time before he tested positive since they were around each other so much.  So I guess that's why he took that chance with her.

On dermal fillers, i think where the women go wrong is trying to look young, not fresher.  They want lineless faces. They can get away with it up until a point and then they end up looking like a face full of silly putty with sunken eyes.  When it's done right and in small doses, it looks fantastic.

In terms of John and Shannon, they could have taken precautions while she was at his house.  They could have tried to keep more distance and worn masks if they needed to get physically closer.  He seems to have enough space that they didn't need to share a bedroom (but they likely did).  I see it as more of Shannon's selfish neediness.

I was thinking, "If I were John..." and realized that was just stupid because there is no way, no way in the world, I would be paired up with Shannon.

Some posters mentioned that Shannon kept getting tests until she got a positive result.  If I had been getting multiple tests that were all negative and then got a positive result, if I didn't have any symptoms, I'd get yet another test because false positives do happen.  But my motivation would be finding out the truth, and not confirming that my suspicions (hopes??) are correct.

I may be the only person in the Universe on Shannon's side on this. Shannon did say she has a lung-scarred tissue (not a health professional so don't know what it is or how lethal); I assume her kids know why she believes she is at high risk.  They went out, partied, and brought COVID-19 home.  As a mother I would feel betrayed.  Those girls need to live with David for a while.

Our local news starts every morning and every evening with the numbers testing positive for COVID-19 and those dying from it.  I only ask the world to pick a lane.  If it is no big deal and Shannon is just being Shannon, don't start the news with COVID cases/deaths.  If it is a big deal, don't discount Shannon's hurt at her children's actions.

I agree with you...her twins, espcially the one with highlighted blonde hair seem very entitled and smarmy to me. Her oldest daughter appears to be genuine in her concern for her mom. As someone who qualifies as being in a high risk group for complications from COVID, I share Shannon's feelings of being upset, scared and angry about what brought her to this point. I think the problem becomes the issue of the "little boy that cried wolf" syndrome. Shannon gets so emotionally fraught about so many things and can get herself so wound up about minor stuff that her kids are at the point that they just don't have a reaction to it anymore. They've become numb. Shannon needs to be in intensive therapy and maybe be taking Xanax for extreme anxiety. It's destroying her life.

The titles of these episodes elude me; what is the Submerged Secret?   Elizabeth's horrible childhood?   Gina suddenly making the most sense and becoming entertaining?   Emily's family getting and surviving Covid-19?   If it was about Elisabeth I'm pretty sure that wasn't much of a secret - didn't she already tell us her dad was a terrible alcoholic and a preacher and that she barely survived her childhood of poverty and extreme religion.  I don't think this was the first we heard of it - and I  still don't really know exactly what she was talking about except she clearly has some trauma from it all and should be in therapy not on Bravo.

Shannon is egocentric and histrionic and is running neck and neck with Brownie for most annoying HW on this franchise right now.  That said, I was also kind of annoyed that her daughters didn't seem to have any remorse for getting their mother sick, and one even went as far as to say "we all are" being careful to avoid the virus, when it seems they were out partying with friends.

Maybe it's just because I'm generally getting really tired of people saying they're taking "every precaution" when they are clearly...not.  But, I'm just saying, for the vaguest twinkle of a nanosecond, I was on Shannon's side.

I get a seriously unstable vibe from Elizabeth. She just kind of sets the hair on the back of my neck off. I spent a girls weekend with someone like her once. I couldn’t take her obvious lies half way though and just started running away from her or asking her if things really happened. Then she got upset that I was being mean to her. I was. I admit that. But it wasn’t intentional, she just set my teeth on edge with her barely contained crazy. I tried to make amends later and she wasn’t having it so I just let the whole thing go. Elizabeth is just like that. The eyes are so crazy.

However, Brauwyn is just bored and looking for something to do. She doesn’t care about anyone but herself and now that she has so much sober time on her hands she is amusing herself by creating a new kind of chaos.

Shannon, I’ve never liked you and you aren’t doing much to help your case. You were the one that wanted your teenage daughters to shelter with your new boyfriend and his kids and then kicked them out and then let the boyfriend back in because you can’t stand to be alone. You could have just as easily exposed them with your stupid decisions. So yeah, your TEENAGE daughters made a bad call. What’s your excuse?

Kelly remains vile and stupid but also the only one capable of basic tasks like cooking. Kelly is confusing to us all.

I agree that Shannon guilting her kids was over the top, although they do deserve some of it.

But I was also screaming at Emily! She KNOWS she has COVID and is hanging around her little children without wearing a mask?? Irresponsible! They may be less likely to get seriously ill but it’s still a risk. So unless they were known to be positive to, and she just didn’t mean hon it, which seems unlikely, she was endangering them.

I feel a little bit bad saying this (on the OFF CHANCE she’s telling the truth)... but when she says “I can’t talk about this anymore,” my brain completed the sentence: “...because I haven’t figured out the rest of the details in the story.”

I too am skeptical about her backstory. With all the drama she infuses into each retelling, I half-wonder if we don’t eventually find out that she grew up within a completely unremarkable context and spins tales to make herself feel better about it. I doubt that is REALLY the case, but it’s impossible at this point to tell what is true.

Or like a skilled con artist, some is true and some is lies. Something about the way she talks reminds me of a slick sales pitch. Too fast, too agreeable, a lot of contradictions.

I sort of loved it. Fanny pack with a bikini, letting it all hang out. She’s built like a brick shithouse. Looked better to me than that sinewy, dehydrated Brain whine. With the weird herniating abs.

I liked it too! I liked her putting that shit on and parading in front of a camera crew, NGAF. I wish I had that confidence.

This is what I don't get.  How does a seemingly nice, well-adjusted, handsome guy stand to be around Shannon?  He seems to be a good dad, and a stable sort of guy.  How does he put up with this?

And yes, she was hoping to test positive, just so she could whimper and whine.  Poor me, turn up the histrionics.  Jeez.

I'm Covid-positive as we speak (about a week now).  I have very mild symptoms.  All I did was cancel anything I had planned (haircut, friends, family, isolating myself, etc.), and watched movies and read snark here.  I cannot imagine behaving the way Shannon is.  My friends & family keep texting & calling to find out how I'm doing, sending food deliveries over (very kindly, as I keep telling everyone I'm fine).  I can guarantee my phone would stop ringing if I whimpered & whined a la Shannon.

100%. Outside of this show, I doubt Shannon has real friends that don’t roll their eyes or laugh at her behind her back. I have someone like this in my life—peripherally as I would never allow this person to get too close. This is an emotional vampire. Shannon’s boyfriend in the background looks like a hostage.

My son tested positive and I took care of him and didn’t freak the hell out and run out of town. We all quarantined and then life went on. What would have happened if instead of Shannon testing positive, one of the kids got sick? Would she take care of her kid? Let’s even say it was the kid that didn’t go to the party, so you know, it’s a ‘good’ kid and not the evil kid, what would happen? Would Shannon care for the kid? Bring her soup? Tea and pain meds? Change her sheets? Or would she stay at the boyfriend’s and let her child fend for herself? I know the answer. She’s vile.

I think Gina, Elizabeth and Emily are overweight. However, I don’t think Braunwyn has a good figure at all. She is thin but as others have said, so sinewy it’s not attractive. Her stomach looks odd in some scenes. I wonder if she had a tummy tuck.

IMO Luann from NY has the best body of all the women across the franchise.

The BEST. She’s my aspiration. Best body, clothes, face, everything. She’s the whole Housewives package. Delusional enough, but not infuriating, has a cabaret, not too mean too often (she had her moments, but for the most part a good egg), crazy marriages, etc. She’s nuts but harmless and a little bit relatable.

Still like Gina and Emily.

Strong agree with all!

Elizabeth is very fashion forward. Note to self: Put my big butt in a tiny bikini and accessorize with a waist high Fanny pack this summer.
Designer optional.

GOD. I kept wondering why I was being subjected to Elizabeth's ass the entire time. And none of the wives called her out on it? I will say this, though -- she has a flawless face. Wish her personality matched.

She does have a really pretty face. I think her best look is her Talking Head with the green shirt. That’s a great color on her and the simple more mature styling of that look suites her. I don’t think her implants are particularly flattering to her figure, but if they make her feel better that’s none of my concern. Her COVID19 Truther theories on the other hand are a bit more troubling.

No, you did a good job, and I agree. Gina is better off with Matt being able to earn a living so he can support his kids. Leave it Kelly to always focus on the money, but she made sense. Him being in prison might be justice, but it’s not the best thing for his kids.

But he tried to CHOKE her, didn't he? What should be the consequences? (rhetorical question, not just to you, Mu Shu!)

While financially it is better for Matt and Gina's kids if he can work and provide child support, if he is not convicted and given real consequences, the children are being taught that what he did is okay.  As far as I am concerned, he assaulted Gina and needs to face real, considerable  consequences for his actions.

In MuShu’s defense, she was responding to a previous post of mine where I didn’t feel like I did a good of explaining myself.

I am the absolute last person who would support physical violence, having lived thru that myself, including  choking me and popping a blood vessel in my eye, - that was the night I got the guts to leave and if I hadn’t I am positive that I wouldn’t be alive today.

I was agreeing with Kelly in the pragmatic sense in that if her ex goes to prison and/or has a felony on his record, that affects Gina’s ex’s ability to make a living to help support their kids. If so, the onus is totally on Gina to provide for her family (hopefully she would accept that and get rid of him).

Kelly, as usual, was inappropriate and myopically focused. I still stand by the fact that this needs to factor in any decisions made by Gina.

I was fortunate my ex and myself had no children, so I was ably to totally cut him out of my life, because he had no reason to emotionally abuse me ever again since I fled the state and went back to my maiden name of Johnson.

Nothing ever justifies one spouse who abuses his/her partner and no one has lived that hell except for the people that experienced it - almost 30 years later I still have periodic nightmares- as that will always be a part of me and last month I learned that it doesn’t matter how many years or wonderful relationships later, it will still rear its ugly head.

I actually know nothing about Gina’s past relationship with her ex, he’s a tool, so I don’t know when the abuse might has started (which doesn’t matter in that abuse is abuse).

Although my other comments could possibly feel counter to this, I more than 100% agree.

i went thru my hell almost 30 years ago - before lots of knowledge about domestic abuse, before OJ and Nicole Brown, and before the Internet.

The amount of people, including close family members and my church, who did not believe me or pretended I was being melodramatic is beyond disturbing.

Serious consequences need to be the norm if we are ever going to change as a society and world.

Gina does have young kids who are impacted by all of this. I really hope she finds additional continual streams of revenue to further negate needing support from her awful ex.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she cycles through “real friends” a lot. People like her prey on rescuers and kind souls who haven’t figured out boundaries and I could see her becoming BEST FRIENDS with someone super quickly before the friend realizes they are being sucked dry. Emotional vampire is right. I sometimes feel like my lifeblood is being stolen just through the television.

Thanks @Stats Queen for so openly sharing information about your past and your journey. I’m sorry that you still have to cope with the memories of it, but I would think that’s completely normal. I also appreciate the “conflict” in your posts (for lack of a better word). Gina’s situation is really complicated and she does have to balance the wellbeing of her kids and herself along with holding Matt accountable. That’s a lot to juggle. I take some comfort that, no matter how this shakes out legally, Matt has been outed on television for his abuse and has seen some tangible consequences from that exposure. I’m not saying that’s punishment enough, but I don’t know what is either.*

*For the record, no sympathy from me for Matt. I just hope a balance can be struck that provides enough consequence so Matt he is less likely to abuse again while also helping Gina to heal and provide a supportive environment for her kids.
