  1. This! All the emphasis about how all the friend group, including Taylor, gathered around Olivia to comfort her, and still do, because her brother died. Olivia made a point about everyone on the Jamaica trip stopping by her hotel room to check on her except Taylor (which might be explained by the fact that Olivia was constantly saying how much she never wanted to be friends with Taylor again). I had no idea Taylor’s brother died too. He was the one she reached out to when she needed to talk. I have no idea of the circumstances (of his or Olivia’s brother’s) death, but I’m sure it was just as devastating for Taylor and her family as Olivia’s brother’s death was to her and her family. Taylor looked really beaten down at the reunion; she just wanted to get it over with and out of there. I really wish she had said: “you know, I’ve been going through something too and none of you reached out to me. Maybe you are disappointed with my behavior but not one of you could have called or texted?” Now I don’t know for a fact that no one did, but Olivia said on the show that she felt bad that the state of their relationship stopped her from reaching out, and she was Taylor’s closest friend on the show, so I think it’s safe to say that none of the girls rallied around Taylor the way they did around Olivia. And for what? She kissed a toad who was never in a relationship with her friend and lied about it? I hope she goes back to her nursing career that Shep convinced her to quit and bids farewell to the show and everyone involved.
  2. I think the experts shied away from that because they were trying to protect Chris’s feelings. But he saw the footage of the wedding, how she said perfect teeth were important and production immediately zoomed in on his teeth, and how she looked dismayed and unhappy at the altar. He’s not dumb and knows it was his looks (what else could it have been since she basically called it quits that night?). Since he actually is a nice-looking guy (on the same level of attractiveness as Alyssa, IMO), I think he would have been OK with the experts pointing that out.
  3. I respectfully disagree with this assessment. She started off with “intellectual” but as she continued to speak she kept saying how intelligent she is and that most of her former boyfriends have been even smarter, which is amazing because she’s so intelligent. I think she definitely was insulting Mark’s intelligence. Also, I find it hard to imagine Lindsey having the kind of conversation you posit above (debating intelligently about complex issues, having fun with wordplay etc.). She talks over everyone who challenges anything she says, and either goes into that demonic laugh or goes off in a huff when anyone doesn’t agree with her erudite opinions. I can’t really see her as a participant at the Algonquin Round Table conversations.
  4. Not only that, but even if that unicorn man (movie star looks willing to be on MAFS) did exist, he would take one look at her and have the same reaction she had to Chris (though no doubt he would be more gracious about it, as any genuinely “good person” would). She’s not the legendary beauty she thinks she is. In fact aside from his teeth, which are fixable with a bit of cosmetic dentistry, Chris is at about the same level of attractiveness as she is.
  5. See, I and others didn’t see it that way. First of all, why did JC have all those infected scratches? Probably from being forced to live with other cats, who are as aggressive as their owner. And when she scooped JC up and away from last moments with his Dad and said “he’s purring” - well of course he is, cats purr not only when they are happy and content but also when they are fearful. The smile she gave to the camera was terrifying. I was in tears and don’t even know Mark or his cats. She does and was thrilled that she “could be there for him” rather than letting him be there for his cat that he’d had since JC’s kittenhood.
  6. Again I am responding to a topic from two years ago, but I only watch this show once it comes on Netflix. I am amazed at the people defending Lindsey. Yes, she’s damaged and needs therapy, no question. But to say in a roomful of people, “I lie about sex to my husband, meaning I pretend it’s good” is just unforgivable! She gets all upset when he calls her “hyper” in private but doesn’t understand how demeaning that public comment is? I’m surprised he didn’t walk away after that but then she doubled down with the “who would spend more money on their spouse” question, and when Mark said himself she collapsed in laughter (that horrible laugh). Then the next day he’s researching the nearest urgent care and taking her there, for her very urgent hangover, and her very urgent need to not be around the other couples who were like crickets chirping after the lying about sex comment.
  7. I know this comment is almost 2 years old, but I’m replying anyway. I think what you are saying is fine at 18 or 28, but using up one’s savings at 38, which is the time to be building up one’s savings, not using them up, is unwise. He looks young but is pushing 40, which may be his motivation for “dreaming” rather than actually getting a job. In his field, skills erode rapidly; the tech of two years ago is ancient history. Noi is not great at communication, but her concern is valid. He should get a job and a 401k if he’s serious about marriage and kids.
  8. This show is done. The entire storyline for the season is whether or not two people who were single might have "hooked up." The reason being that their exes might have feelings about it. Shep has no right to care about anything Taylor does. Olivia was never in a relationship with Austin so she's not even really an "ex." Bravo is trying to make this into the next Scandoval to reignite the show, but a) this isn't anything close to Scandoval and b) the most interesting person left on the show is Patricia and she's laid up in bed with a sprained ankle. The remaining people of the original cast are looking old and tired, particularly Shep, even more so than Whitney who probably has 10 years on him. And I really liked Shep until a couple of seasons ago when he just turned mean; he used to be the lovable layabout with mailbox money and good manners. Now he looks like he has hate in his eyes because he can't believe his life is turning out this way. Even Craig is looking gray (not his hair, his skin) and paunchy. Whenever they show that replay of the smoker debate at Shep's backyard party, I'm amazed at how much Craig has aged in just a few years (and no, Craig, Paige is never moving to Charleston, she's a Bravo girlfriend). None of the new people (except Rodrigo, I like him, but he's scarce) are the least bit interesting, and they know that, so they just create arguments to give themselves airtime and stay on the show. I realize the people who left did so for good reasons, whether by their choice or the network's. But with their departure it should have been the end of the show; this new version is just not believable.
  9. He didn’t drop the spoon in the pot, but to me it looked like he dumped what was left in it (after Tumi sipped from it) into the pot. He did can Leon in the aftermath of the kitchen fire, but he asked him to stay and cook the last dinner of the charter. Leon refused and left, leading to oysters a la grenadine and Oreo salad.
  10. Since I am commenting 2 years later just watching the show (no spoilers please!), I am randomly picking this comment to respond to because it mentions Johnny’s family get-together. Not only did he disinvite her at the last minute, but then he tore her down with them at every opportunity. Yet his own family saw through his BS: one elder told him he’s not in high school anymore “much as you might want to 😂”. So Johnny moved on to how she doesn’t do anything for him, yet saying that she does his laundry, she buys and puts away all the groceries, and she does all the meal prep and planning, but that’s not doing anything for him because he could do those things himself. WTF? Those are things she is doing for you, and what exactly are you doing for her? Other than denigrating her every minute. When he said to Pastor Cal that he wished he had been matched with literally anyone else, I’m glad that Cal said that was mean, but it was more than mean when speaking of someone you have been living and sleeping with for weeks. My only issue with Bao is that she didn’t pick up her spine and self-esteem at that moment and walk away from the man-baby she married. Actually, I take that back; my first issue in that conversation is that she didn’t say “you know, you aren’t exactly my Prince Charming either but at least I am trying.” Johnny has a really over-inflated sense of his own attractiveness. Maybe he will realize that when he sees the show with all the shots of the top of his head (does he realize that he’s a year or two tops away from being combover guy)?
  11. It was my impression that going home wasn’t her choice. I mean, why wouldn’t she have wanted to do all those things? But that would have meant another hotel room and more production staff. I may be wrong, but this show does not seem big-budget to me (just started watching it).
  12. I know this comment is 2 years old and no one will probably notice my reply, but I feel like I missed something. The only things I saw Michaela do so far (not counting the previews from the beginning of the series) are a) slamming down some Clorox wipes and taking her things and leaving the apartment when she woke up to Zack not being there, and b) texting him that she wanted to cancel the housewarming, which she ultimately didn’t. Yet every poster seems to think she is some kind of rage monster and he needs to run away immediately. Did I miss an episode or is it that her sisters’ characterization of her as a tornado is coloring everyone’s feelings, including Zack’s? He isn’t without fault either IMO, for continually leaving her alone when he knows that is a source of insecurity for her (if it was too late to watch an Apple TV movie when he got back he could still have been there, plus doesn’t Apple TV work anywhere there’s a device if you have that subscription?). IMO I think he’s checked out for some reason and he’s putting it on her “rage issues” which I personally haven’t witnessed (yet).
  13. Agreed about Izzy’s treatment of Johnnie but I also can’t forget how quickly Stacy jumped in and made it a whole mean girl situation. I have never gotten a good vibe from Stacy and while Izzy may not have been there for the right reasons, she’s no prize herself. She certainly wasn’t in any hurry to take off her wedding dress (seriously, after a failed wedding, who keeps the dress on not just for the post-fail interviews but also for the ride home?).
  14. I know this post is 2.5 years old, but I have to comment since I just started watching this show, and no one but you has said that she is not only a problem drinker, but a person who pushes others to drink when they don’t want to. Am I the only person who heard her say that her girlfriends finally told her “3 tequila shots max” and she accepted that but then did more shots when she got home? 😥
  15. Jessel doesn't bother me much either (her embarrassing story was funny), and Sai didn't do her argument any favors by focusing on the $20. But Jessel had much more valuable advantages that Sai didn't, namely a college education (paid for by her parents), a free place to stay in NYC (with her uncle), and perhaps most importantly, a safety net with both families. Even her funny story took place during Spring Break in Cabo, which isn't an experience many deeply impoverished people have. Sai didn't say it very well, but I think she was trying to make the point that Jessel isn't acknowledging that she had many advantages that Sai and Brynn didn't. That doesn't make Jessel a bad or undeserving person; Sai just wishes she would admit that she didn't have to struggle as much as they did.
