Chris is having a day posting on facebook. He went after Jamie Otis, a youtuber, and fans. Now he just said he will not ever be on unfiltered. Darn, every week I hope he will show up and I guess now we know we will never get to see him.

Deflect, deflect, deflect....the only person making Chris look like an asshole is Chris.......every time he opens his mouth - no editing needed!

I'm glad Chris is reading all the negative stuff posted about him.  He needs to see what a POS other people think he is.

It doesn’t matter. People like him never listen. He’ll do or say anything to make himself the victim. Probably sue the show for defamation when it’s all said and done. He’s trash.

I'm not looking forward to tonight when he opens his mouth to the others about the baby, which he didn't have to do.  I'm pretty sure he'll play victim but I wish Erik and Virginia had stayed out of it and just let him twist in the wind.

Well one thing for sure.  Chris is certainly bringing a lot of publicity to MAFS!  I wonder if this will up their status in viewers?

When I checked the ratings, they were down from last season (not sure if summer vs winter makes a difference). Of course the first episode went against a major political event that held the top 50 spots for the night.  Season 11 first 3 weeks average was 1.7 million views and Season 12 was 1.1-1.2 million viewers. I do think by the amount of people talking about the show, there are many people not being counted watching on youtube or facebook live or other ways that are not counted.

Spoiler

The only one that surprises me is Virginia and Eric. This girl might be the luckiest bride on the show. They seem pretty happy in that picture.

Yeah, the fact that no one in their right mind would ever consider Chris to be "marriage material" makes this show hard to watch. Paige seems like a nice lady and it is hard to see her in this wretched marriage.

Ok first of all, Chris shouldn't have told this news to the group; this was between him and Paige.  Second, even though he did tell the group, Virginia, Erik and Clara and anyone else who commented should have just kept their mouths shut.

Nuts to that!  If he's bold enough to drop that info in a group he can be bold enough to hear what they think about it 😄

Well, in real life, sure. In tv land, where things are manipulated for maximum ratings, this is what you get.

I love that Virginia and Erik were late to the group, when they heard the baby news I really thought Virginia would have been too loud in asking the wrong question about the paternity, drunkingly asking questions and laughing about things.  Virginia always looks dirty.

Does Paige ever speak louder than a whisper?  I give her a lot of credit for holding it together and not having a crazy emotional scene upon hearing the baby news, I think she knew from the start this was not going to be a forever relationship and was not going to invest that sort of emotion in it, especially after that crap Chris pulled before they left for the honemoon.  She saw the writing on the wall the day after the wedding.

My question is about the casting of this show, was Chris aware that he was matched with someone when he did the deed with the ex?

So VA and Erik get a ring side seat at the fountains and view for their dinner and Erik seats her with her back to all of that when there were chairs that would have afforded her a view.

How did all of those couples/production show us the most boring way to do Las Vegas? I expected to see a few of them tipsy, riding the roller coaster or going on The Eye, something other than sitting around the hotel. No one gambles, I mean in a casino because clearly all of these people just gambled with their lives big time!

This is the first season that I will watching from start to finish, (I have been spotty about my watching other seasons), do the brides ever get an engagement ring and if so does the show pay for the ring like they do on The Bachelor?

I'm pretty sure that's what Virginia did. "Are you sure it's yours?" is not exactly subtle. She does look like a mess. I love that she's the one getting the footage of taking too long to get ready when she always looks the same - messy. All four other ladies got there on time and all four look more polished and put together than the one who supposedly spent more time fixing herself.

Chris is saying he just found out, but who knows what the real truth is? I'm guessing it's not this.

It might have been production who forced Erik and VA to sit with their backs to the fountains so they could be filmed. It wouldn't make great tv for them to be facing the fountains with their backs to the cameras.

I'm guessing we are only seeing a small bit of what they did on their honeymoons - it's entirely possible they did all of the things you mentioned but there wasn't time to see them when we had to have two thirds of the episode devoted to the baby drama, which is disappointing. I don't care about these two and would prefer for them to exit the show immediately. He's an asshole and she's an idiot for buying his bullshit. But of course this is THE STORY for this season.

So much of the fun stuff in Vegas was closed in August. The shows, the roller coaster the amusement park, the water rides were all closed. The show did not have as much to choose from. I bet we will see mostly outdoor stuff, ATV's, national parks, boating, and eating outside.

My guess is the got the whole floor at the hotel for a low rate or even free. Other reality shows have done this and it means they get a private pool to film at and common areas (like where Chris and Paige told the news at) and they could have kind of a mini quarantine floor ? On top of COVID and the heat, the Mandalay Bay is getting lots of free publicity from this. I hate to bring this up but after the mass shooting at the hotel in 2017 , I do not know if it fully recovered its image. My husband and son like to go see America Ninja Warrior tape, and it tapes right behind the Mandalay Bay in the exact area of the shooting. My husband who is usually not afraid of anything, said he won't go back to that area again even if it were a free hotel. i know others feel the same.

You have to remember it was at least 110 in Vegas in August, and some days closer to 120. It was horrible heat this summer. I bet any outdoor meals were at the best times for the heat which also could mean they had to be on a certain angle for the sun to film. I don not think Erik had much to do with what seat Virginia got, I bet production had a tight window to film. Until I moved to an area with the same weather as Vegas (about 2 hours away), I had no idea, that the hottest part of the day is around 8-10pm and it is still light out till almost 10. The coldest part of the day would be around 11am and the early afternoon could be under 100 till like 4pm. Then from 4pm to midnight is when it is over 100, and this summer where I was and in Phoenix I know had the hottest temps in over 50 years, I know Vegas had many record days in August.

I would have picked Chris and Paige's date in the A/C dining room over anything outdoors. Plus I assume they wore masks when walking or traveling to destinations and that was miserable in the high temps.

The brides only get rings in their husband gives them one. A few have done this on camera during D-day or reunion. Since it is on TV, who knows if the show helps pay but the rings, while nice, were nothing like the Bachelor rings.

As for Chris and the ex timeline. I think he had to be in the process of applying to the show when he slept with the ex and it is within a week of him knowing for sure he was picked, so it could go either way that he knew or not. Lets say he did not know he was picked, he would have found out with a week of sleeping with her, and he could have said no. He was not obligated tp say yes if picked. Once he says yes and signs the contract he is locked but when they call and say they have a match you can back out (or that is what has been told by past cast and production)

Okay, this is getting even better-I just read on Soap Dirt and Screen Rant (yes, I know that these are not the most reliable sites...) that it isn't Chris' ex who is pregnant, but the woman with whom Chris cheated on his ex and led to their break-up. AND, the women is a cousin of his ex.  AND there is speculation that the ex will show up this season (I can't copy on this device, so I hope that writing the site names counts as identifying the source).

Wow, if this is true Chris is a bigger piece of shit than I thought and I did not think that was possible.

I saw a picture of Chris and his new fiancee (I think it was the former fiancee but they are re-engaged) and she was very thin. So, she either didn't have a baby recently, which would lead to the above rumor, or she loses baby weight really fast. Wait - would she even have had the baby yet? When was this filmed?

I'm pretty sure the rumors going around are wrong. It is his ex-fiancee who's pregnant. The weddings were taped around the middle of August, IIRC. So likely, Mercedes is still pregnant and due in a month or so.

So (if the rumors are true), this "new" fiancee is yet ANOTHER woman he'd adding to his harem??  What do these women see in this guy?  I don't think it's his bank account because I am pretty sure (ETA: if there is any karmic justice) his true net worth is below zero.

Also ETA: I obviously don't have access to his finances, so I don't *know.*  Just positive wishful thinking on my part.

I'm curious what Chris father does for a living?   Is some big shot company owner Chris is trying to duplicate?    Is he backing Chris because I'm pretty sure to buy a franchise you would need some big up front money.  Yes he hasn't been making payments but in the beginning he would have had to have some pretty big money to purchase the franchise.

Did anyone see the short clip from next week’s episode that they aired during MAFS Australia? I’m sure some people will see Clara as sticking her nose into someone else’s business, but I can’t help feeling as though she really is coming from a good place. When we saw all the couples getting together in the last episode, she seemed to be genuinely concerned for Paige even before Chris announced his “di$turbing new$.”

I assumed he is either a pimp or a pastor. Same thing in some instances.

The latest spoiler is that Paige pulls a Zach and does NOT move in with Chris when they return from their honeymoon. There IS a God!

I read that & was relieved, but, also hoping they don't have them go through the motions with all those damn exercises the couples have to do. Chris is way worse than Zach & Paige shouldn't have to do anything. I also just want them both gone. I'm even tired of seeing way too much of Paige (in more ways than one) on Unfiltered. Enough with these two already!

Did they knock kettle bells?

Naked downward doggie style?

Or has Haley's unwillingness to let him get closer than a ten foot pole frustrates Grandpa who is trying to initiate and lean in.....

I'm really surprised they had sex. I wonder if that clip isn't spliced and diced. If you listen carefully to Jacob's voice (note that it's a voiceover, you don't see his lips moving), when he says the words "had sex" they sound completely different from the rest of his sentence.

I read critical comments about Jake due to "awkwardness", but I believe it's an edit making any awkwardness between them look worse & all his fault. I believe Haley has a lot to do with this awkwardness, but because they've painted Jake as an 80's & fitness obsessed weirdo, she's gonna skate by & encourage some people to actually feel sorry for her. Instead, I feel sorry for Jake, because Haley said from the jump her problem is shutting guys down at the start gate, which is something I believe she did with Jake as well. She's sending mixed messages, which is obvious due to his confusion. He doesn't know what to do with her, & that makes him look even worse. It's clear she's not into him, but she's not being honest. She'll try to ride this out, but eventually given the previews he'll push for answers & I don't blame him.

The other thing I don't like about her is she's making herself out to be so independent that she doesn't need him - well then why sign up for a husband ??  The reality is again, she doesn't like him so it's her way of pushing him out of her zone without being honest.

TBH I'm starting to feel Haley is a bitch.

ETA: "bitch" may be harsh, but given the info she's given about herself & the attitude I see in her I believe she's at the very least quite snooty - JMO

Methinks the editing department will turn on Haley because Jake the nerd is played out....get ready for Cold and Heartless  Haley

I hope Haley doesn't get the bitch edit, because I don't see that in her at all.  I think it's pretty simple, she's just not attracted to Jake.  It happens.  She'll probably ride it out until decision day.  And yes, she's independent but at some point, it's not at all unusual to finally want to share your life with someone, and that's what she wanted.  I just don't think it will be with Jake.

I just wanted to add that Jakes seems to be a nice guy, quirks and all.  However, he might not appeal to a lot of women.  He just needs to find the right lid for his pot, just like the rest of us.

Right, & that's why she's prepping him by saying she's used to doing what she wants when she wants etc...  If a guy said that to his bride on this show it would be questioned does he really like her or want to be married - same for Haley.

What I'm annoyed with right now is she's not being honest with him. And I have said the same of all the guys who have played this BS with their wives - it's no different for her.

Just saw your edit & agree. I've also said he's into way too specific interests to be doing this. He would be difficult to match & was a bad choice for the show.

But I'll also say again that Haley was also a bad choice for the show, given she said she doesn't give people a chance.

But it's teevee, really.

I can't fault Haley if she's just not that into him.  She gave it the ol' college try, I have to give her credit for that.  I don't know if I'd have been able to have sex with him.  Jake is an OK guy but as others have said, he's not everyone's cup of tea.  Something puts me off about him on a visceral level.  Maybe she thought that if she had sex with him her attraction would build but it turned out to be more of a turn off than anything else.

I use the "lid for every pot" expression all the time, my coworkers had never heard that expression and neither had my husband..weird, right?

I like Jake for his honest awkwardness, he does not seem to pull any punches, he might be boring but he is not mean spirited.  He concentrates on his diet and exercise a lot because for a long time it has been just him, nobody else's interest to consider.  If Haley wants to make the marriage work it will take time to bring Jacob out of his shell, some people don't have the patience to take on a human project, Jacob could be turned in a catch in time.

Say what you want about how boring and nerdy Jacob may be but I would rather be married to him than Ble$$ed the Me$$ed.

Pastor Cal from this article:

Quote

“We will not force anyone to be in a marriage when they really don’t want to be there,” he told us in 2019. “If they really feel like it’s over, it’s over. I don’t want that responsibility of forcing somebody to be in something where there are going to be emotions destroyed.”

No, they don't "force" anyone to be in such a marriage, but they certainly DO engage in coercion given the $100,000 penalty we've heard they slap on anyone that actually leaves before decision day.  What a morally despicable thing to do to someone.  How easy is it for him to use that rationale to get out of the responsibility for coercing these women to remain in situations that are mentally and emotionally destroying them.  "Oh, it was THEIR decision, not MY fault".  Asshole.  He's just as bad as any Chris, Luke or Matt.
