If I had to pick which one was crazier and/or more evil between SyPhyllis and Diane- it’s SyPhyllis. No question.

More evil - Victor or Ashland? Victor. Again- no question.

I can tell you who is more stupid. Doughboy explaining to Victor how not to treat Victoria, if he didn't want his daughter to get back in their gaslite relationship, was meta level ridiculous.

Rodan the Unhinged should have taken Jack one of her decedent picnics today to apologize. Today is National Donut Day 😇

You would thing with all of Olives money she could afford a better letter opener. The idea is to slice the envelope open not tear it apart.  That’s what fingers are for.

I stand corrected, the Grand Albatross is higher than  5 floors. Poppin Fresh is on the 6th floor unless the Grand Albatross’ manager is so screwed up, there are 500 and 600 room numbers on the same floor.

Two things are not mentioned is buying Marchetti. Is it actually for sale and at what price. If I was a board member, I would want to know the price before I approve the purchase. Also, Jack is being a little disingenuous because it is about family because how can he know if it’s a financially sound company without knowing a purchase price. Oh, one other thing, how did Jack get access to Marchetti’s books?  When Dina was selling her company she took bids.  Why wouldn’t Angelina take bids?  What if Angelina will only sell if Marchetti stays in Milan?  What if Angelina wants a lot more money than the company is worth?  What if Angelina wants a guaranteed salary plus a shit load of perks?  Going to the board is premature until these questions are answered.  If the board just approves the purchase, than they give Jack Carte Blanche on spending whatever he wants to bring Kyle and Summer back no matter what he says.

Come on Rodan the Unhinged, the old habits are coming back?  Seriously Rodan the Unhinged, old habits new habits I fail to see any difference.  No no no, it’s not Diane, it’s you Rodan the Unhinged. Diane shouldn’t be able to make you do anything. Rodan the Unhinged lives for bedlam and mayhem. Olive, Sally, Abby have been put aside, for now, to concentrate on Diane.

Wearing a belt around the waist absolutely makes no difference to Olive. Nothing gets accentuate because she’s a stick figure.

I have a question. Is the Grinning Soul actually Nostrils, or someone who just uses Chancellor’s platform?

Ehh, I don't know about Summer and Kyle being so all up in their parents' sex lives. Jack needs to find a guy friend he can talk to, and Phyllis needs to seek professional help.

Why is the CEO of a major international company opening her own mail? Victoria must have someone who can do that task for her. It's expensive clerical work.

Not sure what to make of those sleeves on Nikki's pantsuit. I'd be constantly getting those things caught in closing doors. 🥴

Pshht, it was way more than PDA, Phyllis. You tried to turn Jack's peen into a hostage situation. Unfortunately for you, Diane knows better than to negotiate with terrorists.

I think a good lawyer should know when they're out of their depth. Amanda should not be giving Phyllis romantic advice because she knows Phyllis has been deliberately vague about her history. The last thing Phyllis needs to do is to escalate her battle with Diane over Jack.

Diane seemed rather concerned about Allie getting tighter with the Abbotts. She definitely pulled a face at the idea of Allie possibly going to work at Jabot. Hmm.

Noah doesn't know the dirt on Diane? That's odd given what a huge impact she had on his father and grandparents back in the day. Guess no one bothered to warn him.

Aw, Allie and Noah are already having cute little disagreements. "Opposites attract" is a tried and true romance trope. Yay. 🥰

Well, Victor, I think it could be argued one of the reasons Victoria got with Ashland is because she wanted to expand the Newman empire by absorbing Locke Communications. She just wasn't planning on having to keep dealing with him because he was supposed to be dying. Face it, your daughter got duped and all you Newmans got played. "Rules for thee and not for me" is fine until you meet someone like Ashland who operates the same way.

Is Ashland finally giving up and getting out of Dodge? Please, please, pretty please!

Re the previews: Victoria in a bathrobe in Ashland's room? Nooooo!!!! It must be a dream sequence. 🤨🤨🤨🤨

When did those wide belts come back into style? I haven’t worn one or even seen one since the early 80s and now almost every woman on Y&R is wearing them.  And not wearing them well 😝

This Marchetti nonsense is beyond stupid. Surely the MWTs can come up with a slightly less stupid way to bring Kyle and Dummer back to GC.

Is Marchetti even for sale?   I don't think Jabot has even contacted Marchetti about a deal.  From what I recall, Summer admitted poking around Marchetti's financials and realized it was in bad shape financially.  Since she is a marketing person, I wouldn't make her conclusion the basis of my due diligence.

Waldo13 calls Victoria, Olive, in reference to Olive Oyl. I call her mop. She's a mess of hair on a stick. And she is frightening to look at.

I don't know what's up with the wardrobe people. They seem to hate all of the women on the show.

Olive = Victoria because as Swee Pea said she’s like Popeye’s Olive Oyl

Rodan = Phylis because she flaps her arms like wings and screams Caw Caw

Nostrils = Billy because his nostrils are bigger than his eyes

Nick = Banana Breath because he bares his teeth and walks like a Gorilla.

Which sneaking around couple had those Hear No Evil & See No Evil monkey statues a few years back? Was Nick one of them? Sharon stole one during her Kleptomania period.

I was wondering if Elvis' costume maker was still alive to make Nikki's pink bell-sleeved outfit.

I think Susan W is the best-dressed woman on the show; at least in the style of her clothes. They are not distracting, hideous and/or tacky. The black can get old but there are no body parts sticking out - or sleeves that make her look like she could take flight. And most of all, she doesn’t slink, look like a street walker or madam. And no wide belts! Actually, we don’t see much of her from the shoulders down.

Point well taken. That said, she always looks like she’s wearing a dress for the wintertime in long sleeves. Maybe, it’s part of her story arc where she sheds the black and embraces color when Jack realizes that Diane is the one. LOL!!!!

If Summer’s heart’s desire was to “come home,” just quit Marchetti. You don’t need your father-in-law to buy it. You could have a job at Newman or Jabot.
Diana making Phyllis act her true self is so gratifying. Jack NEVER should have given that brother-f*cker another chance, but now he’s reminded what a psycho she really is

Does anyone else think that Diane was resurrected not for Kyle but for Rodan the Unhinged.  Rodan the Unhinged needed another advisory to make sure that TIIC can chew up more airtime.  I’m quite sure that Rodan the Unhinged has the most airtime of any other character since the arrival of Diane.

Sally, one of Rodan the Unhinged’s many adversary, is owed a major thank you for sending Summer to Milan.  Summer went to Milan a immature selfish child and came back a mature woman. In addition, Summer has returned triumphant with a major coo with the purchase of Marchetti.  From one of them, in Marchetti, to running a major Paris fashion house from the Dairyland of America.

I also think that Jack I should be beholden to Diane for reminding him how toxic Rodan the Unhinged is.

Ashland = Poppin Fresh first and foremost because there was a quite a bit of pudge when he wore the 3 piece suit. Lately, he’s looking a little svelte minus the suit.  Little know to the viewers is the other reason I call Ashland Poppin Fresh. When Olive makes love to him, she likes to stick her finger in his belly button because she loves hear him giggle.

I have seen several stories the last couple of days where Michelle S has gone to social media to explain that she is playing a character; that she is acting out what the writers are writing.  Sorry, I didn't explain that very well.  Apparently there is a lot of blowback and anger towards her from many Y&R fans; maybe confusing her, the actress/person with the character she is playing. Has anyone else seen this?  And should I have put this in Small Talk?

The thing is, "Phyllis" is/could be an interesting, nuanced character. I know we speak of Phyllis/MS as if they are one and the same; and maybe a credit to the actress that she has  "gone all into" her role.  She has done it that well.  A role like  "Phyllis" could be such a meaty, fantastic part to play. But the over-the-top, mustache-twirling, googly-eye, shrieking banshee that MS sometimes chooses to portray the character is off-putting and makes her look like an over-emoting ham.

I don't follow her on SM but preferred Phyllis/MS in the early days (1990s) - her scheming was subtle and devious and targeted characters who were full of themselves, like Pristine, so I enjoyed MS's acting then.  Phyllis today may be on the verge of a mental breakdown, but MS's over-acting is simply terrible and one-note.

That's what I was thinking. So that may be why Waldo calls him "Banana Breath".  I had no idea who/what Rodan is; google tells me a winged monster, which does fit Phyllis, but reading "Rodan" always brought to mind Auguste Rodin, "The Thinker" sculptor, which doesn't fit Phyllis at all!

I legitimately can't tell where this story is supposed to go because I haven't read spoilers, and cannot tell when the character of Phyllis is supposed to be acting a certain way and when MS is just doing acting tics that actually don't say anything.

I don't even mean that as a slight against MS this time, but it's been a reality for a while now.  She's not at all untalented and as I've said before, I think she even has a charisma about her that a lot of other actors don't. But when the portrayal of the character is off the walls for months on end (being generous here), you can't really be surprised when fans don't "get" that suddenly the character is supposed to be having a breakdown.  And I STILL don't even think we know that.

Banana Breath is for Nick having the mannerisms of a Gorilla.

Rodan comes from when Phillis was trying to imitate a Phoenix rising from the ashes after regaining control of the hotel. Phillis was flapping her arms profusely and screaming Caw Caw.  Just then, Phillis looked more like the monster Rodan than the bird she was trying to imitate.  Caw Caw.

^^^All of this. I definitely think this current storyline with her and PB and SW is an attempted Emmy grab. It's a shame she has to resort to such pathetic overacting, as if the Emmy voters won't notice if she doesn't come on like a coke-covered wrecking ball. (The nose candy kind of coke, not the pause that refreshes. 😏)

If this doesn't end up with Phyllis either in an asylum or another coma, I'll be calling so much b.s. No way should she just be able to wake up one day and go "Bygones" and carry on like nothing happened.

Yes. And I have thought that even before I came to terms with the fact that she's not Patty - after they showed us Diane having Diane's memories. As soon as I saw Mulva, I knew that although they may pretend that the story is about the pursuit of Jackiness, with some abandoned baby Kyle thrown in, it's all gonna be all SyPhyllis day and night, night and day, ad nauseam, wild-eyed and flapping and screeching non-stop. This Mulva version of Diane was all about her feud with SyPh. That's one of the reasons why OG Diane was the better Diane.

We know that the coming attractions are going to be hear shortly with Olive actually siding with Poppin Fresh over her father by deducing that Victor must have done something for Poppin Fresh to seek him out.  Olive Olive Olive, your ego just won’t let you believe that Poppin Fresh doesn’t love you. Olive you are being played by falling for Poppin Fresh’s seemingly heartfelt speech. Even more than taking Victor’s beloved company from him, taking Victor’s even more beloved daughter away from Victor would be the ultimate gratification.

MS was complaining about how social media was “mean” to her about how she was portraying Rodan the Unhinged. MS said she was just using the dialog that was given to her by the monkeys with a keyboard. The dialog is one thing, but MS is way over the top in her facial expressions and overly animated gestures.   Aggressive behavior can be displayed without face talking where you can smell whatever Rodan the Unhinged had for lunch and need a handkerchief to wipe the spray off your face.

I got news for you Jack, Rodan the Unhinged’s issues with everyone she feels threatened by is in her DNA.  Rodan the Unhinged was threatened by Sally because she was getting close to Jack not as much as being instrumental in sending Summer to Milan because Summer really didn’t have to go to Milan but went mostly because she didn’t not want to be a step mom and share Harrison with Kyle.

Poppin Fresh gets a restraining order to stay away from Harrison. So I guess TIIC will keep Tara in jail to stay away from Harrison. If Tara serves her sentence, she would be entitled to see Harrison.

Kyle don’t be a wuss. You can’t defend Diane to me but Summer can defend her mother to Kyle without a word of condemnation.

I call BS on Staff Infection just using the words they give her. She has bragged about playing games with Whatshisface who plays Nick about adlibbing and saying certain random words. I know I've brought MS being a Scientologist up more than once in this thread but her current behavior on the show and online made me want to post about it again. Well that and seeing Tom Cruise's butt being kissed over the new Top Gun in some places. That cult seems to make it's members especially the celeb ones think they are above all others. MS just oozes that same attitude Tom Cruise does in regards to coming across that way. I've read that MS is also a house flipper which made me think she may have bunches of Sea Org members working on those houses for free.

I wish Y&R would decide to do a cult related storyline similar to what  GH did. Hopefully it wouldn't last as long though. That was rumored to be what prompted MS to leave GH. I wonder if a story like that would make SC think about leaving too......

Sharon Case and MS have both been long time Scientologists. SC doesn't seem to give off the kind of arrogance that bleeds into her acting like MS does though at least to me. Now I'm also wondering if Mark Grossman is a Scientologist and if not would he voluntarily join that cult due to his relationship with SC.

Ashland is effing relentless. I almost recoiled in disgust when he sent that text to Victoria. Stalking much?

That said, I wonder how much Victoria still actually cares for Ashland versus how much she simply wants to defy Victor and Nikki.

Phyllis said she had matured and enlightened. Gotta wonder in what universe that happened because it sure wasn't this one.

The Gory Pole is supposed to be a leading boutique hotel and they don't do virtual checkout? If they have Ashland's credit card on file, he should be able to sign off on the bill electronically. The only reason he'd have to go to the front desk is if he disputes any of the charges.

When Phyllis started saying she could change I thought, gee, TPTB should have bought the rights to play Bittersweet Symphony under this scene. Using Jack to try to show up Diane was definitely a display of cruel intentions on her part.

Diane is getting quite comfortable hanging out in the Abbott manse again. I think she's just bidding her time until Jack gets vulnerable enough to reach out to her for comfort. Comfort between the sheets, lol.

I still can't with Ashland and his crocodile tears and and his cracking voice. He plays on Victoria's emotions like a piano virtuoso.

Meanwhile, was Jack crying over Phyllis when Traci hugged him? Oy, my guy, you ought to be plumb out of tears for that psycho firecrotch. Let it go before you get dehydrated. 😭

Bleh, Victoria, AFAIC you deserve everything Ashland does to you now since you've pretty much given him permission. It'll be a real life portrayal of the parable of the lady and the snake because for sure he'll betray your trust again.

Interesting mention of Daniel. Dare we hope he'll come back for a visit? Phyllis' granddaughter Lucy is about Connor's age now so those two could get into bratty kid stuff.

Sharon Case, as far as I can see, has kept her personal beliefs to herself and I've never heard of her letting it interfere with either her storylines or her relationships with other cast members.  SC seems to have a deft hand at managing her public image, more power to her.

On the other hand, there was plenty of scuttle at the time Michelle Stafford exited Y&R and joined GH that one of the reasons she left was her unwillingness to work with Michael Fairman - the actor who played Katherine's husband, Murphy - because after being a Scientologist, he had left and was a vocal critic of it.  I don't know if there was any truth to it and I don't remember the two of them sharing scenes very often.  There were also rumors that she left GH and returned to Y&R because she was unhappy with some cult storyline that GH was doing that was too similar to Scientology's public image.

Sometimes the Behind the Scenes machinations are MUCH more interesting than the stuff we end up sitting through all week.

Michael Fairman said he had basically been “threatened” by another actor on Y&R after leaving Scientology. A kind of “ We’ll be keep an eye on you” sort of thing.

AFAIK, SC went to a few meetings years ago but isn’t a member. However, the cult tends to hang onto names as a way of influencing others.
