Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out

Regarding the Cody and Christine thing, I agree that both may find some sort of comfort in all the cuddling and hugging and Christine is probably getting a kick out of getting so much attention from a pretty boy but I think it's "strategy" on both of their parts.

I can see where flirting could be a smart strategy, but a married woman constantly having her hands all over a single guy to the point of hurting her husband is not game play.  Christine has gone beyond what I consider appropriate behavior.

Seeing Christine's anger about small things in the house, I could see her throwing an absolute fit over it and tearing into the woman for trying to steal her man.

She's already shown her jealousy with her statement about Amber and Brit wanting Cody.

By the way, I've been reading that Christine thanked Cody's parents for raising a wonderful guy in her HOH blog, but didn't even mention Tim in it.  I can't seem to find her blog; is there somewhere I can read it and also the three tweets she did?

Valkyrie has said this to Zach before regarding his behavior (Zach's, not Cody's) toward her.  Step it up, Valdosta!

This boring season has only had one bright star - the V nicknames you all have been coming up with for Valiporaso on the boards.  Each and every one of you has a special place in my heart.

ICAM. I'm now reading this thread just to see the latest names for Vicks VapoRub. Poor girl.

Odds are she's not going to win so her behavior maybe sets her and her husband up to go on one of those marriage boot camp shows.

In my opinion, Tim doesn't realize it now, but the best thing for him would be for the marriage to break up. Christine has nothing going for her. She's not pretty, smart, nice, or funny. What a dud of a person she is.

Based on what I've seen of him on Twitter, he isn't much of a catch either...I think they both deserve each other.

So I'm pretty much done with this season, but I'm going to continue following this thread because of all the hilarious names y'all are using for Verandah.

To me, the thing with Verbena and Derrick is that her fixation on him doesn't come across as being anything to do with a sexual attraction.  I think she finds him comforting, because he is older, he's married, he's a father, he keeps his wits and temper about him, he's polite, he's kind to her.  She seems to me like a girl who runs to her daddy ...

I agree. Which makes his creepiness towards her even more gross.

Christine and Clueless' (I mean, if we're gonna do nicknames for Victoria, we should for Cody too, since he's even more of a non-entity than she is) touching is so skeevy. That last bit with him hugging her from behind is just too gross. Whoever said someone should ask him what his dad thinks is on the right track. LOL. I'll never forget Cabbage's dad telling Tim to follow him on Twitter so he can DM about the Christine stuff. So hilarious.

Yes. He'd be a fool to have kids with her. When things get hard she'd cheat on him. She has no character.

JMO, but this has gone past strategy. Her feelings for Cody are genuine. Cody is using her. Christine is so happy to have a cute guy give her attention and be part of the cool kids, she is throwing her game away. She can kiss her ring all she wants, it's just a joke.

As an observer, I find this all a fascinating social experiment.

I would like to second this! Who at the start of this season would have thought that Vladisvostok would be the source of so much entertainment?

I wonder if the Cody/Christine showmance will ever be mentioned on the broadcast show. As far as I recall, there hasn't been a hint of it, although it seems to be more real (at least to Christine) than Zankie or the Nicole/Hayden thing (if it doesn't even have a portmanteau name, it can't really be a showmance, can it?)

How about Chruddy? I know I'm taking liberties with the "u" but it just seems appropriate.

That wedgie scene is hilarious. I love Zach. But it wasn't Christine's cackle that almost ruined it for me - it was Frankie's "SHE'S America's Favorite Player!" Every fucking thing somehow brings the spotlight back to him, even in a tangential way. I hate that sparkly turd.

I think you're right about Victrollia but I also think Derrick is attracted to her. He's taking her to the end because she's the perfect goat but his creepy comments about her body and virginity are out of line and unrelated to the game.

Wait, Valentine is a virgin?

I honestly don't think Christine cares how she's coming across.  I think she probably married her husband because they were together since teens and probably didn't have very many options as far as men.  Then she goes on here and is laughing at anything any cute boy would say. I think now she thinks she gets to cuddle with this guy she has a crush on while looking like one of the cute girls from seasons past who cuddle up to the cute boys.  She's disregarding the guy who has been there for her all this time because she's blinded by a crush on someone who wouldn't give her 2 shits outside the house.

If it was a friendly cuddle, she'd be doing it with the other guys too.  Funny it's only Cody she cuddles with.

Watching last night & hearing Christine say she & her husband have no credit & can't even get a credit card. How old is she? Sounds like a great catch. No wonder she wants to win. Sounds like sista needs some dough.

LGGirl, when asked what she'd do with the money, Christine said she'd/they'd adopt babies.  Doesn't she realize that adoption agencies use Google?  SMH

I would love it only if Donny said in his nomination speech "These are the people Derrick wanted me to put on the block and I told him I would do it since he saved me" and maybe finally causing people to freak the fuck out re: Derrick.

This is pure gold!

I mean, really? Where did they find Christine? Last night on BBAD, she said she and her husband have "no credit." She is just not admirable on any level. She betrayed Nicole and flirts with a guy and she is married... and to me it is like she is happy for the first time in her life to be "in with the in crowd" and she is drunk on her own perception of her power in the game.

And as this show goes... she will probably win. My anger level will be through the roof on finale night.

Christine always bums me out when she talks about money. She talked about saving up for a 32 inch TV with Tim for their xmas present to each other and also borrowing 300 dollars from her parents all the time. She really needs to start building a credit history though, not sure what her reasons against it are.

All of you are spot on. Christine is so shocked and happy at the prospect of being a cool kid and ppl "needing" her. Her desperation to feel included is what highlights truly what a loser she really is. She started out being ok with being an "outcast" with nicole but then she got invited to the bomb squad and her allegiance to Nicole went out the door so quick. She also ran to the boys and told them Amber was trying to get all the boys out with a big grin strapped across her face. Now that all this C/C bizness has come to light, I wonder if christine was just super excited at the prospect of getting rid of the "competition." Cosy may be pretty but that's all he is. Amber and Nicole had done so much more in the house than he has... as an "all powerful male". Unfortunately, no matter what happens, Christine will never truly get it, and she will think she played the game the best. It's really just a travesty. Girls never work together and it's because of girls like Christine. Women who are so desperate for men's attention and approval that they will sell their fellow women down the river in a heartbeat.

Seriously. How the heck hasn't one of these flakes said something (even jokingly) about her husband watching her fawn all over this guy? I def would have by now.

Valkyrie has said this to Zach before regarding his behavior (Zach's, not Cody's) toward her.  Step it up, Valdosta!

I expect Vestal Virgin and the rest figure Chrody's constant PDAs massively increase the targets on both their backs, and the occasional observation of "HEY, GET A ROOM!!!" might defuse that somewhat.

In case you haven't seen it already, here's a link to a pretty funny scene from yesterday when Nicole gave Zach a wedgie:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ug2LBQQALE4

ETA: I had missed that duskyliterati had already mentioned this scene.

I can die a happy man now.

Or Chrody. Sounds like grody.

Dang it, @Ananayel - you beat me to it!!! :)

On jokers, they were saying that Christine, Cody and Derrick were talking about the BOB and how it was making the game much harder and that they hated it. I thought that was interesting since they seemed to have benefited the most from this twist.

Christine's husband seems like a pretty good guy on twitter. He's clear that he doesn't like the cuddling, but quite dignified about it saying that it is his marriage, his issue, and something to be talked about between them later. He's not being all macho about it. I think she might be surprised when she looks at the video. Clearly Christine is very attracted to Cody, but Cody doesn't seem to have any interest beyond cuddling, so I don't think it will go further. I think it's silly because it makes her seem to be closely aligned with Cody and makes her a target.

Basically, I don't like Christine not because of the cuddling, but because of the things she has said about Donny. She's labeled him a creep and a weirdo from the first,

Hey guys! Delurking to ask about the Christine and Cody situation.

For those of you that have watched previous seasons and feeds (I'll admit that I can only tolerate this show every other year or so) has something like this happened before and did the broadcast show air it? Someone way up thread mentioned this happening on a previous season and ultimately the married woman left her husband and got into porn. Was her flirting shown on the show?

I'm curious if the show editors put this into a category where airing or making mention of it could be so detrimental to Christine's life outside of the house that they'll avoid airing it. Kind of how some of the more abhorrent things said last year weren't aired (but still led to people losing or getting reprimanded by their jobs).

There's only one other thing that I can think of at the moment, which happened during BB2. I'm pretty sure nothing about it was ever shown on a broadcast. From various sites:

- Nicole and Will were in the hot tub drunk on wine and it was widely reported that Nicole gave Dr. Will a '"foot job" under the water.  Yes, you read that correctly.  Now, both of them denied it later (Will even made a coded statement to that effect on the show.)  but something happened---they played footsie for sure.

- During an HOH competition, overhead an airplane trails a banner reading "N & W in hotub Im betrayed & hurt. J," sent by Nicole's husband Jeff.

- Nicole is still greatly upset by the airplane banner she saw, insinuating that her husband was upset over Internet rumors. She cries in her bed, saying repeatedly that she wants to leave the House to be with her husband, but Will tries to talk her out of it, saying later that he needs her around for his strategy. Later, another banner from Nicole's husband flies overhead, saying "[HEART] U N Stay Torment WL 4 Me - CSI" (Translation: "Love you Nicole. Stay and torment Will for me." The CSI reference is a code from her husband to indicate the banner is really from him.)

I don't mean to be a buzzkill, but if everyone starts changing players names randomly I'm totally going to get lost trying to follow this thread.  Can we stick to mangling Victoria and if there are name changes for other players, at least keep them consistent?  I am only asking for my own sanity in trying to keep things straight here.

I think there's a chance this does eventually make it to broadcast just because 1) the house is so boring 2) it could make for an awkward interview with Christine's husband 3) it gives Cody a scene that isn't about Zac Efron or just saying "yes" to Derrick.

It's on the BB FB page. Most are commenting about her inappropriate relationship with Cody. Edited by Runningwild

Totally agree. From a gameplay perspective, it's foolish. Most HGs actively avoid doing anything which presents the perception of a "power couple" or "power pair" - so why go out of your way to present such a image when you're not?

Basically, I don't like Christine not because of the cuddling, but because of the things she has said about Donny. She's labeled him a creep and a weirdo from the first,

YES. Crustine got all bent out of shape when Donny questioned her loyalty to Nicole during Nicole's first HOH. I understand this, and appreciate why she felt the need for a reactive response. Throwing the "pervert" label at Donny with no justification, however, was a TOTALLY disproportionate response, and stepped WAY across societal bounds. That was akin to being mad at the gym coach for giving you a 'C', and making up a retribution story of the coach coming on to you in the locker room. Some lines you just don't cross, even in a game, because that label could stick around LONG after the game is over.

Christine is like an unpopular Plain Jane in a cool boys' candy shop. She cannot resist behaving in physically flirtatious ways because probably this opportunity never presented itself before. She's having the time of her life. Being on BB and having good looking guys around who give her validation and attention and a feeling of power is her "champagne wish and caviar dream." It's all OK if she was single but she is married, so it is viewed differently.

She probably thinks she will mend this when the show is over and call it "game strategy."

I don't think CBS concerns itself with such a category - they're hamsters, after all; it's not like they're real people. :P More than likely the decision to air/not air would be based on whether it would pull more viewers to rubberneck at the scene of the crash vs. how many viewers they would lose from folks taking offense.

{This is said under the assumption that Derrick hasn't verbalized anything to Cody about what he's been doing with Christine}

This C/C thing just goes to prove how gross Derrick can be as well, in the house.  He knows Cody listens to him.  He should pull him aside and tell him; "Yo, I know I said to play your strengths, ie flirting; but dude, she's married.  Back it off to more appropriate actions, man."   But no, he's letting it go on without a peep (to them).

I mean, it's not really any of Derrick's business outside of a game standpoint. It's truly between Christine and Cody. If she wants to risk her marriage, and he wants to impinge on her marriage to Tim, and they both want to do this on national television, what's it to Derrick? I mean, yea, he sucks too, but not because of this.

You're right.

I guess its a bit tough to compartmentalize all the talk about his own wife and child, but letting others [potentially] ruin their own marriage/family or letting someone do it just to advance.  But I realize it is a game, and the lure of $500K can put the blinders on just about everything.

As an outside viewer, its just hard to wear my own blinders.

Yes they showed it. It was shown one-sided since Jeff and Russell did not really flirt back. I think the only time Michelle cuddled with Jeff was when they were have-nots and Jordan was on the other side of him.  It was also mentioned in one of the final HOH competitions Natalie tried to throw it in Jordans face to psych her out. That Michelle would be in the Jury house flirting with Jeff and be all over him. Jordan in her DR said "Natalie is just trying to pysch me out Michelle is happily married and Jeff likes me."

I'm actually happy to be confused.  I get the feeling that things aren't going to turn out the way we expect.  Maybe it will be a final two with Zach and Vanity 6 or something else totally bizarre now that people are going to start playing hard.

Oh, from your keyboard to God's Inbox. I would love to see that. Also, there are many seasons where the person who was dominating at the beginning of jury time didn't win.

She started out being ok with being an "outcast" with nicole but then she got invited to the bomb squad and her allegiance to Nicole went out the door so quick.

Back when she joined up with the Bomb Squad, I wondered if she's one of those people who think friendships with men are more important or cooler than friendships with women, and looks down a bit at "girly" girls.
