MaryMitch February 22, 2019 Share February 22, 2019 I'm glad Will was as horrified to find out that the guy he was flirting with was married with a baby. He was disgusting. iMonrey February 22, 2019 Share February 22, 2019 I love Andrea Martin so I enjoyed ZuSanna. And it was a nice callback to Zondra. Eileen Brennan really did pass away recently. I wonder how she would have felt to know her character "was cleaning her gun when she fell out of a window. Then six months later had a heart attack and died." Did anyone else feel like there was something cut from this episode? When it came back from commercial to Karen and Malcolm in Grace's office it seemed like they were in mid-conversation, or that there had been a prior scene with Grace arranging for them to meet. I'm also a little confused about the trajectory of Karen and Malcolm's relationship since so much of the last few seasons of the original show have been retconned. Did Stanley fake his own death in this new timeline? That's how Karen and Malcolm wound up together in the first place. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90142-will-grace/page/2/#findComment-5075027

Blakeston March 1, 2019 Share March 1, 2019 Jack was completely unbearable in the first half of this episode. I mean, I'm used to him being obnoxious, but this level of sadism was just over the top. That's been my least favorite thing about the new seasons. They'd already made the characters unlikeable enough during the original series, but now they're making me hate most of them. I also think they reached a point of diminishing returns with Molly Shannon's character a long, long time ago. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90142-will-grace/page/2/#findComment-5093230

Earlier in the season, they were showing episodes out of order to try to highlight David Schwimmer, thinking (incorrectly it turned out) that this would give a ratings boost; now it's like they're avoiding his episodes, saving them for after sweeps! 11 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90142-will-grace/page/2/#findComment-5111107

willowk March 8, 2019 Share March 8, 2019 good episode, but couldn't get over the Valentine theme. I love these episodes that tailor to holidays, but only when they are shown near the holiday. I thought Grace knocking down RBG and the resultant outrage to be really funny, and liked the supposed RBG radio address absolved the person (Grace) who pushed her. Was a good comedic take on the unusual interest people take in RBG's wellness and the NY state of mind vis a vis cabs. (I guess a shipment was on the way?) Was it an emergency or not? That very situation would not even happen. Blood comes from an accreditied blood bank. There is more to testing than the a, b, o typing. They also check for diseases, antibodies the receiver has that would fight the blood. The only situation a direct donation would occur today, would be during a large scale disaster. Especially since they live in NY, they would be able to find a donor. I know they wanted a way to show Grace's dad as homophobic, but this was a realistic way of portraying it. 8 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90142-will-grace/page/2/#findComment-5134273
JasmineFlower March 18, 2019 Share March 18, 2019 I didn't mind the blood storyline at all in a general sense of what I thought it was trying to accomplish where blood was concerned. I wasn't a fan of what it does to how the audience views Grace's dad though. But I thought the show was just calling back to a time when there was a perception that blood from gay men was tainted in some way. That men who had sex with men, which is how the FDA refers to it, were given a lifetime ban for donating blood until a recent change. That they have improved the law in this area, but that it is still highly prejudicial and subjects them to a one-year deferral from giving blood. So this may not have been the most well written and executed storyline the show has had, but I wasn't questioning why they did it. As for them being in NYC and there being a donor around? New York has blood donation shortages just like everywhere else does. And for a rare blood type? Even more so. Nothing about that is unrealistic. They were asking for donations on the local news a few weeks ago when I was visiting my sister. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/90142-will-grace/page/2/#findComment-5135589

It is just an honest question about the tone of posts regarding this episode. Grace's father has never (that I recall) showed any homophobic behavior towards Will or Jack. He is elderly, and there was a time when it was taught that gay men were often infected with (sorry, Idk the correct term) HIV/AIDS. Maybe he just never got newer information. Finding out while he was in pain, likely nervous, and not in control of his health wasn't the best time to process this new information. Also, it was not explained to him in the same detail as Will explained it on the balcony. Grace went immediately to losing it. My mother says things because she just doesn't know better. She does not have a mean or hateful bone in her body. It really is "the times." Even when presented with current information, it takes her a bit of time to change her decades-old way of thinking (dear god, the utter personal hell and regret I went through before, during, and most of all after getting her to switch to a smartphone). Once out of the workforce, social circles often get smaller and not much new information comes in. I just don't think he was really being homophobic, unless I do not have a clear understanding of the word. This was specific to what/how he was educated on male homosexual blood.
