I can't blame the farm. The article said the symptoms come on rapidly and that sometimes, death is the only symptom. Sort of like swine flu? (I'm not making light of Piggy's death, BTW).

There is a vaccine for this disease.

Edit: Sorry, posted before reading whole thread!

No dignity in this whole crew of barnacles or Twit's family either.  Twit sold out long ago with that icky  video with the rapper--not the rapper, but Twit's actions in the video and the song.

Help, please? What video did Whit do with the rapper? Thanks!

Is there such a thing as a rape kit for kitties? Because I honestly think Henchi needs one after witnessing that vet's office makeout scene. Twit is so thirsty and so inappropriate that I don't put beastiality past her. Someone call Greensboro Animal Control!

Well, that video no doubt appeals to those with fat fetishes.....I was waiting for the porn to begin.

I have no idea who else the audience would be for that.

Gross.

International fitness expert and Rapstar Fitty Smallz and Co-Star Whitney Way Thore of TLC's "My Big Fat Fabulous Life" deliver a hard hitting message that breaks down the barriers of body image and celebrates body acceptance with Muffin Top. This is the second original song for Fitty Smallz that follows up his smash hit Hamburger Fries & Shake (http://youtu.be/_9LAyCJgD-Y). From one extreme to another, Hamburger Fries & Shake featured UFC and MMA champion Chuck “The IceMan” Liddell, while Muffin Top features media superstar Whitney Way Thore, whose viral video “A Fat Girl Dancing” and her “No Body Shame Campaign” has taken the Internet by storm. What better way to celebrate female empowerment and a platform that embraces all body types than the acceptance of the Muffin Top?

But... but... it's for us weak widdle wimmins... we need to be empowered doncha know...

So obviously she is going to run with the chub rub until her "meal" ticket gets punched. We can see she has no reason or desire to diet as she is making bank off her weight. Listen, I am all about embracing what you have and trying to at least try to live healthy, but the derogatory lyrics of calling someone a whale doesn't that defeat her No body shame campaign ?    Can I also say she needs to find better extensions too.

After watching that video I’m convinced Whitney has done obesity porn or whatever it’s called, or she has or had webcams in her room before TLC. Let’s not be shocked when something like that comes up in the news. The hypocrisy though, I thought she hated men with a fat fetish. And girl, that video is all but No Body Shame. What a joke.

Somewhere there exists a clip of her dancing (rather senshusly [sic] and inappropriately) for Hunter in his room.

If I knew Babs would never find out from anyone else, I wouldn't tell her the pig died.  I don't think it's a matter of "right to know"--why inflict such pain when there's nothing anyone can do about it?

I have a real problem with this reasoning.  Babs is a grown adult. She's not a baby who needs to be sheltered. It was her pig. He died.  Pets get sick, they die.  She has been through that enough with their personal zoo that she knows it can happen.  My mother in law's family was all about "not breaking news" of health problems to other family members.  It was not a good idea with humans, and it's not with pets.  Let Babs deal with it however she needs to. Don't try to hide it from her.

I'm inclined to agree. I can understand the temptation of keeping it to yourself so that the person you'd be telling doesn't get hurt, and it does seem like a kindness at the time, so I wouldn't judge someone for keeping this information from the person. But when that person ultimately finds out, and they always do, they have to grieve the animal/person and deal with the betrayal of this secret-keeping at the same time, and that's a lot to handle. I can understand postponing bad news--say, the health crisis shouldn't be disclosed until the emergency has passed so that they avoid unnecessary worry, or not relaying bad news at a time when the recipient is going through some other kind of hardship, but not telling her at all? At best it's just not feasible to keep that sort of secret for a long time. As they say, a secret can only be kept by one person--once more than one person knows, it's not a secret anymore.

I do think we can all agree, though, that having the cameras there when they offered to hang back was pretty reprehensible, unless it was a reenactment they all agreed to. It didn't look that way to me though.

There's a big difference between not disclosing health news, which could have an impact leading to constructive action, and concealing the death of a pet from someone who dies not need to know about it.  What harm can it possibly do to keep Babs in the dark?  Telling her can have only unhappy consequences, and there is nothing she can do to help the situation.  It has nothing to do with her being an adult; it has everything to do with inflicting pain needlessly.

To me there is no question that Babs should have been told about the pig, because they discussed the fact that they were going to visit the pig soon. That was part of the deal, that they'd be able to visit the pig. I wasn't sure why this was debatable. But obviously doing it on camera when they were given an out was tacky (everything Whit does is).

See now this is bullshit.  Shaking your ass and calling women “belugas” isn’t anywhere near empowering.....and they sure weren’t empowering the skinny chicks....according to them, they cant dance worth shit.  Whatever.  Just gross.

And who TF or what TF is a Fitty Smallz?  Star?  Please.

She really does have about 5 “dance” moves in her repertoire doesn’t she?

Did anyone else find her reunion with Henchi to be rather...orgasmic for her?  I was very uncomfortable watching her practically engage in some type of fetish play with her cat.

And Buddy...you cheated on Heather? I hope you told her to get tested for STDs.

Again, what is the purpose of *not* telling Babs? She's not delicate; she has gone through deaths of pets before. As mentioned above, it's likely she would eventually find out anyway (as I recall, Whitney mentioned planning outings to see the pig at some point), Babs would also have to deal with Whitney hiding it from her, which could easily be interpreted as a betrayal. Whitney already takes on an occasional parental role with Babs which is unhealthy. She's not Babs' mother and it's not her place to protect her as if she's infantile. And, it was Babs' pet!

As for the delivery- it was totally inappropriate. But we all know it's about Whit and her drama, not what's best for her mother.

Next week, I see that Buddy confesses to "dating some" while supposedly still in a relationship with Heather. What a surprise. He's just more despicable every week, despite his AA platitudes.  And I hope that Heather really understands that the meaning of "dating" here is "being a coke whore while I was stoned out of my mind."

Please excuse any typos because I had to bleach my eyeballs after watching that video and my touch-typing aint so great.

Anyone else notice she has shape wear under her spandex leggings that pops out above the leggings several times in the video? Does that even work to hold things in more? And why try to hold anything in if you're embracing your body as it is? Rhetorical questions, I know.

I keep seeing this question pop up, and I'm going to go ahead and answer it, because I live with someone who likes to not tell me things like this, and it's not always deaths. First of all, you cannot avoid someone discovering things like this, especially in this information age. Even without technology, someone always knows and someone always tells. Stuff comes out in weird and unexpected ways, or it just pops up in someone's face.

Example: I went over to my sister in law's house for Christmas I think about four years ago and there was a little blond baby in the house (they all have dark hair). I asked who it was. Didn't you know? We adopted her! My husband hadn't told me, just like he hadn't told me about her three prior pregnancies because he was afraid it would somehow upset me because we've never had children.

Babies don't upset me. You know what upsets me? Being blindsided and treated like a mentally stunted infant. Kind of the way that Whitney treats Babs. It's an insult as a human being, to a person's intelligence, and it's disrespectful. So I ended up sitting there having to absorb the news that I had not been told something again (we've been doing this since 1990) on Christmas afternoon while this kid is peeing in my lap and I have to try to make nice with his family, who have never really liked me and the whole situation was just really tense.

Now in relation to the death of the pig, Babs would also have choice taken away from her in mourning for his death, because she would never know. Eventually she would wonder if he had died and want to know where he was. She's not stupid. It's kind of important for some people in the grieving process to know where they are. This is obviously important to Babs with the way she has markers for all of her pets in their back yard. For her not to get that for the pig would be emotionally traumatic for her.

Not telling people things like this inflicts pain. You trample their humanity and you take away their choices.

I could foresee what would happen if they hadn't told Babs about the pig.

Next season (if, God forbid, there is one), they'll be looking for script ideas.  Some idiot associate producer will come up with the idea of telling Babs, "Okay, we're going to film you going to the farm to visit the pig.  Can you call them to find out when the visiting hours are?"  Then there would be a camera crew there filming her being told the news by some innocent person who answers the phone at the farm.

I wouldn't put it past them.  Even though the pig's death was exploited in the name of ratings, at least she found out when there were family members there with her.  I agree with @LordOfLotion.  Adults deserve the respect of being treated like adults.

Maybe this belongs in the ‘unpopular’ forum but I don’t know why it matters that Buddy isn’t a great catch when it comes to Heather’s behavior. She’s acting like a 15 year old. If Buddy was a great guy with a fabulous job it wouldn’t make it any less stupid. Sure it would be nice if all relationships could end amicably with a nice little sit down postmortem and everyone leaves saying they are better for having known each other.  But life doesn’t work that way. They broke up. There isn’t any ambiguity on that so I’m not sure why Buddy owes her anything or there is anything left that Buddy should have to say to her. If during his recovery he decides he needs to make amends with her then he, and he alone, should call her and ask if she’s willing to hear him out. But Heather shouldn’t expect anything from him anymore. The relationship is over. The breakup is the closure.

Just needed to see this said again :)

Um, I had not heard of that video. I looked it up and got halfway though it. I feel embarrassed for all involved, except Twit, who deserves every humiliating thing that happens to her at this point. That was one of the lamest things I have ever seen, and I regularly watch those "are you popular" type videos from the 1940s for kicks. I can't wait for my husband to get home so I can make him watch too!

Haha I watch commercials from the 1970s for fun - now I've got something new to look up :)

Oh good heavens!  I am dying here.  I even had to jot down some "lyrics" to remember:

"a freak in the back but a lady up front" - Does "up front" refer to her sports bra and belly that are on constant display, or the fact that she drapes herself (in underpants and previously mentioned sports bra) across the sofa in the front room of a wedding gown store?

"honey I picked you like a big red juicy booger" - please tell me I heard that wrong!

"I have the sweetest muff that you've been dreaming of" - this part was when "Whitney" started caterwauling along to the "song"

For the record, I do not enjoy "rap" nor do I respect it as "art", which may be why I at least expected "Fitty Smallz" to be a foolish young man in his early 20s.  WTF?  This is just too too hilarious!  Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

This is an old video, one of two taken on the same day in 2012 when she was in the middle of her famous 100 lb weight loss effort with Will. The videos were taken in Hunter's room, but I don't think he was there. On one of the two videos you can see her turning the camera off herself at the end. Both videos are still in her video library on Facebook.

I agree. They both suck. Buddy is a loser but what does that say about Heather pining for him so much? She has children to think about, and all she cares about is My Closure. Me me me. How about being horrified with yourself for having a drug addict and alcoholic around your children? Agree that the breakup IS the closure. And he told her many times what the deal was. I don't know WTF she wants from him anymore. The fact that this breakup has apparently taken a full year is just beyond fucking ridiculous and everyone involved should be humiliated.

I agree with all of this but did Buddy actually break up with Heather? Perhaps I missed it (I don't always have the patience or wine to deal with a full episode) but I have no tolerance for this ghosting BS. If we have been dating exclusively for months and all of a sudden you stop returning my calls you better believe that I will want and deserve an explanation. I am all about the clean break and moving on, ghosting is cowardly and as someone mentioned rehab is all about facing your past and making amends. Buddy has learned nothing.

While I agree that you would want and should deserve an explanation - this question is, at what point do you wise up and realize that you aren't getting what you want or deserve?  He didn't actually break up with her, but he did make it obvious that he was done with her.  She needs to accept that life's not fair and move on.

Totally agree it got super pathetic (who the hell keeps a box and still pines after months, after 3 unreturned calls and knowing the person is safe I would move on) and Heather needs to be horrified she allowed an addict around her kids and move on, I just think that while Heather is kinda sad and pathetic Buddy is a sociopath with anger and addiction issues not wanting to take any responsibility for his behaviour.

I think I've caused the confusion by conflating Twit's FB mutterings with MBFFL episodes.

There is only ONE Steve Purrwin. She talked about him last year on FB. She was also filming segments for THIS year's season. So, it's the same cat.

I don't understand why TLC permits her to give away much of a season's plot arcs on her FB page about year before airing. We knew about Avi. About Nada's visit. About Ashley's baby. About the HI visit. About Steve Purrwin.

And yet she kept mum about the pig dying. She waited ALL the way through the airing of the episode! Boy, that must've taken some restraint! Ugh. This B*tch!

What a spoiled little brat having a massive melt down when he called her out on her crap (and what has it...half cookie or muffin on the floor?) She kept wanting to show proof of how strong she was because she did not eat the whole thing. Then the picture of her food. So So Damn Rude and Childish to send maybe one pic out of what should have been 30 and I am sure it was not her dinner. ) He should not have given in and taken her back as a client. She went back to maybe  one session, and then I bet she fired him, so she would always remember having the perceived upper hand.

These are the  reasons I think she is a POS. She would most likely read this and believe I am not being fair because she is fat.
