Popular Post VioletNevermind August 8, 2017 Popular Post Share August 8, 2017 80% of Teen Mom 2 episodes these days start with: *insert child's name here* is staying with *insert family caregiver here* so *insert boyfriend here* and I can get away and enjoy *insert leisurely, adults-only activity here*. Just once, I'd like to see 50% of the moms in one episode focusing on their children or something to better themselves somehow (and not selling lipsticks on the Internet, LEAH). 32 Link to comment

Briana is having important conversations with her mom and sister about Nova, but they need to *stop having them in front of her*!! She does not need to hear the unfiltered version of any of this and they can't and shouldn't expect her to be able to filter through it herself as a young child. Popular Post Scarlett45 August 8, 2017 Author Popular Post Share August 8, 2017 This episode has inspired me to believe that Briana is really similar to Leah actually (minus the marriages). I say this because I think Briana has a natural affection and maternal interest in Nova, but is not incredibly bright OR good at long term planning/decision making. She was probably a very good mother to Nova when she was an infant but now that she is older and requires more intellectual stimulation and guidance she's a little lost (like Leah). I think both Leah and Briana want what's best for their girls but 1. Don't know how to go about doing that, 2. Lack the self awareness to figure out what they don't know or what resources could help them. Dang the segments are so short now. 25 Link to comment

Popular Post Brooklynista August 8, 2017 Popular Post Share August 8, 2017 I am really anti-Briana but I appreciated her talking to her daughter about loving herself as a brown girl. The pressure for us to conform starts so very early and its easy for a little brown girl (ok all girls) to feel less than if she isnt constantly reassured she is perfect and precious as she is. Nova's hair is beautiful and the coven was right, it does not need to be straightened. Also, fuck Devoin for saying his sisters hair was "worse" than Nova's. My guess is their hair is exactly the same textureas his. Dumb ass. 37 Link to comment

Popular Post Linny August 8, 2017 Popular Post Share August 8, 2017 It's incredibly worrisome that Jace hit Barb and didn't feel bad about it. I have to wonder how much he's being influenced by Jenelle and David, who scream at Barb and call her horrible names right in front of him. How's he supposed to learn to respect Barb when Jenelle doesn't? It can't be healthy for Jace to be bounced back and forth between the two of them and so often be exposed to volatile situations. Jace's behavior should be a wake-up call for Jenelle. She needs to put the petty bullshit behind her, swallow her anger and her pride, and work together with Barb to make sure Jace's emotional needs are being met. She won't do that, though, because she's got a wedding to plan and a daughter to show off, and Jace is low on her list of priorities. Adam is worthless, but what else is new? Chelsea will make sure Aubree is protected from him, I'm certain of that, and Aubree is well loved and happy with Cole as her primary father figure. It's so refreshing to watch Chelsea and Cole, because they're the only ones on the show who act like real adults who have their priorities straight. They hold down jobs, put their kids first, and communicate in a healthy manner. Chelsea has grown up so much, I'm really proud of her. Briana is so damn passive. She doesn't ask anything of Devoin, she doesn't expect anything from him, she just waits for him to float back into their lives. Has he ever paid child support? After five years, there's no formal custody arrangement? I want her to realize this is her life and her kid, and she needs to set boundaries with Devoin. It's not fair for Nova to go through life never knowing when she'll see her dad. Leah signing up for some flash in the pan lipstick venture is such a Leah thing to do. How many more episodes will she pretend to study? I feel for Ali, wanting to be involved in an activity but finding it beyond her physical capabilities. I hope they get her interested in an intellectual or artistic hobby that she can enjoy and feel confident in. "Kail's a real piece of shit, is what she is." That's right, Javi, keep spreading those facts. I really feel that Javi's escalated behavior is caused by Kail insisting that everything be on her terms. She refuses to listen to anyone's complaints, she refuses to explain herself or acknowledge any wrongdoing, she thinks everything she does is justified and shuts down when she's called out. If she'd just TALK to Javi, have a real, honest conversation, I think a lot of problems could be avoided. But she's incapable of being sympathetic to him or admitting she's made mistakes, so she plays the victim in the storm of bullshit she created. 41 Link to comment

WhosThatGirl August 8, 2017 Share August 8, 2017 So now Leah is doing one of those makeup beauty things that I happen to see on Facebook from time to time where people talk about products and then talk about how you need to start selling said products and "join their team". That's what it sounded like. I think her stint with MK was like this too probably but I don't know.. that scene at the gym with her friend really felt like it was a "join my team and sell this never washing lip stain". Leah seemed okay tonight. I liked her scene explaining to Grace that Ali can't do everything she says she wants to do and that she tries. And I know Grace can sound like abrat but it's probably confusing to her, her sister complains that she wants to do things and then she gets tried and doesn't want to anymore. Anyways. I don't care about Brianna. Nothing about her is compelling to me. Nor is anything in her story. Kail is awful. Its scary that Jace hit Barb enough to break her nose and feels no remorse. Before when Janelle asked Jace about it, I just thought he Barb a bruise, to hear he broke it was scary. Watching Chelsea now compared to earlier years is astonishing. 15 Link to comment

TeeMo August 8, 2017 Share August 8, 2017 I noticed Leah threw in a little plug about her lipstick in one of last week's episodes when at the start of a scene she made a point to ask her friend/cousin/whatever if she "liked this shade." The friend/cousin/whatever was basically like "Huh? Why are we discussing your lipstick?" and I wondered if Leah would mention the whole endeavor even more in later weeks. Guess I have my answer. Ugh. Makes me a little angry when MTV allows these girls to use their screen time to promote their "businesses" which are all just BS ways to get their fans to hand over their money. 4 Link to comment
Popular Post ghoulina August 8, 2017 Popular Post Share August 8, 2017 Well, Adumb is back to being a colossal fuck up, so MTV can stop searching for "drama" within the DeBoer household. How typical - he sets up a hearing to reduce child support, then cancels it, aaaaaaand....now he's doing meth. FUN! I kind of wish they'd have made it to the hearing. I would have told that douche canoe that I'd lower child support to NOTHING if he'd sign away his rights and kick rocks for good. Even his 6-year-old realizes he's not an important presence in her life. And how cute was Aubree's birthday card for Cole? His response - "She makes me feel good all the time" - just killed me. Oh, and there was a moment of Watson sleeping where he looked JUST like Aubree. To that girl pushing Leah to get involved in that stupid MLM - FUCK. YOU. So Leah's college experience is going to set her up for hawking lipstick to all her SM followers? Bahahaha, okay. I will actually say, I thought Leah handled the conversation with Gracie, about why Addie quit tumbling, very well. I'm sure it's hard for Gracie sometimes, to see that her twin sister isn't held to the same standards as she is. But she needs to realize we're all different and can't all do the same stuff. I know, I know....why was she in tumbling in the first place. I know Leah and Cory need to do a LOT better when it comes to managing Ali's limitations. But, at the same time, I try not to judge because I have no experience having a child in that situation. If Ali is begging to try tumbling like her sister, it must be hard to tell her no. To tell her no to everything. But I like that Leah said there are bunch of other activities out there. I hope she wasn't just paying lip service, and will give Ali opportunities for some non-physical hobbies. Brianna can lose me with her "white girls can't even keep hair in a braid" comment. Um, yes we can. How about making your daughter feel better about her race without insulting others? Also, did anyone else think it was kind of shitty that Nova was begging to have her hair straightened, was shot down, and then the NEXT scene Briana straightens HERS??? So....Isaac is always trying to get rid of Lincoln. So funny! And Kail seriously went to trial over 10 texts. She's a real piece of work. I noticed Jo could barely hid his DGAF attitude when she was going over the whole thing on the phone with her. He's been there, done that. I really hope it's not too late for little Jace. Hearing that he hits Barb, and expresses no remorse over it, bothers me. Sigh....sometimes he just seems so sweet and innocent. But he's a growing boy, and this could get scary. Sigh.... I just really need to know why Jenelle feels she needs a formal living room? And SHE was the one wearing sunglasses inside this time. I think that bitch has been high-high-ya-both-high ever since she gave birth. Fuck you, Nathan, with your "WTF kind of name is Ensley?" - your son's name is KAISER. Memento Vivere August 8, 2017 Share August 8, 2017 Oh, the tweets. Randy is always right there to put his two cents in when no one asked for it and Leah needs to stop with the passive aggressiveness. Maybe if the original quad were appreciative of this easy ass job they have, the producers wouldn't have had to bring in another mom to make a point. If you want to complain about abbreviated segments, direct your ire at Kail and Jenelle who refused to film with certain people, threw fits on a daily, and deliberately obfuscated part of their lives in order to pull the diva card. While adding a fifth storyline does clip the segments a bit, I am glad the producers made a power move to show who's in control of the show. It's about time. 19 Link to comment

I don't get the point. We are Italian and have all kinds of hair. In our family we start out as blonde and it darkens in grade school. Some have fine hair, some have curly or even nappy hair. No one is allowed perms until after puberty as it is a health standard. We allow girls to get perms at 16 and no dying of hair until 18 and I would not even recommend that. I was gray in my 20s and have had to color my hair for 30 years. It's a procedure/hair destroyer I would not want anyone to go through. I encouraged young adults in the family to get a high gloss instead of dying their hair. In Nova's household all the women seem to have different hair. Hair is hair and you don't get to pick what you get. That would be the discussion I would have with Nova. As my sister would tell her daughter, "When you get your own place and pay your own bills, you can do what you want". 5 Link to comment

They're saying, "Embrace your natural hair, it's lovely just the way it is!" And then Brianna comes in the next day and has clearly straightened her curly hair. CaughtOnTape August 8, 2017 Share August 8, 2017 Jenelle's inability to see how she's contributed to Jace's propensity for hitting is upsetting, to say the least. And for all the talk about David being full of rage, Nathan is downright fucking scary. David at least seems capable of some introspection and self-awareness. Nathan just straight up looks like he'd have a roid fueled explosion and not realize he'd beaten someone to a pulp. He's also going to end up at a Physical Therapist if he doesn't learn how to lift weights correctly. Just watching him made my neck hurt. I did appreciate Leah's discussion with Gracie about her insensitivity regarding her sister's condition. Gracie is a sweet kid but she needs to learn to keep her mouth shut. What I don't understand is that if Chelsea knows Adam is on meth why doesn't she tell the courts that and remove any contact with Aubree at that point? I get that Aubree loves her dad but....yikes. I'm puzzled by Briana. What does she do all day? Does she have a job? Go to school? She's so Eeyore about everything in her life. She doesn't seem to have any spine whatsoever when it comes to her baby daddy or her mother or her sister. I applauded her discussion with Luis about adoption, but she's just so blah with everything. 8 Link to comment
AirQuotes August 8, 2017 Share August 8, 2017 In regards to Nova's hair, if that issue was being addressed by anyone other than the coven I would give it credibility. The coven is so intensely dramatic/borderline psychotic that I give them zero credibility for being able to accurately perceive the reality of what prompted Nova to say she wants straight hair. Especially when they jump to mocking white people hair. They are so angry and hostile about everything and passing those issues on down to poor little Nova. I have very little doubt that in 10 years we will be watching Teen Mom: The Next Generation starring Nova and her baby. The coven will continue to grow. Leah and that stupid Senegence Lip Sense bullshit. Maybe it was on the Leah thread, but I told about my experience with a neighbor peddling that crap. It was big around here about 3-4 years ago, but now everyone has moved on to Younique. That Senegence is expensive, heavy, and harshly gaudy. Leah has been slathering that shit on her face and lips since the first episode of this season. That friend at the gym wasn't showing her anything new or selling Leah on anything. That was just some weirdness cooked up by the producers. It wouldn't surprise me if Senegence is straight up paying Leah to promote for them. See Chelsea below. Kail is absolute garbage. I'm glad Lincoln colored all over her walls and Isaac didn't say anything! Chelsea has to be working an endorsement deal with Carhartt. The logo is just too prominently displayed on her hat and Cole's. Carhartt probably just didn't expect her to wear their hat weirdly and make it look phallic. Jace hitting Barb in the face is disturbing and I'm glad she has him in therapy. When they were in Jenyell's new house, he was hitting the other kids. I wonder if this is a new issue since the baby was born or if it has been ongoing and we are just now seeing it. 8 Link to comment
CaughtOnTape August 8, 2017 Share August 8, 2017 5 minutes ago, ghoulina said: My point was - they're not telling Nova, "You're too young to straighten your hair. You can make that decision when you're older." (Which I agree with.) They're saying, "Embrace your natural hair, it's lovely just the way it is!" And then Brianna comes in the next day and has clearly straightened her curly hair. It felt a bit hypocritical, to me. How do we know it was the next day? It was just her next segment. Doesn't mean it was the next day. I'm also kind of done with this whole idea that we have to be hyper aware of how a kid views something these days. I doubt Nova even noticed. Link to comment
