There’s very much a narrative in our society that the more “open” a woman is sexually the more attractive she is to men and the more likely is she to lock down a man to fulfill her emotional needs and provide financial support. Us sensible people know that’s total hogwash, but the narrative is there. That’s why women (girls) like Briana and Kailyn get so upset, somewhere in their head they “put out” and now the guy is supposed to “put out”.

In a lot of conservative heteronormative circles sex is only successful if the man falls in love with you afterward.....despite being the most obviously heteronormative of the group, Chelsea was the only one who always took responsibility for her hookups with Adam and never made it seem like she was being manipulated, despite his abuse towards her. Probably because Chelsea KNEW Adam wasn’t into being with her and it just took her way too long to accept it. Compared to a Kailyn type fucking a random dude from school bareback, knowing he’s not available to you emotionally, physically or financially and then crying he’s with “another girlfriend”..... the man was never yours!!

I just can't get past what Briana posts when it comes to her sex life. It isn't her job to have to post such descriptive tweets. She isn't Dr. Ruth! I don't think even Jenna Jameson or some other porn start tweets such details.

I also think Briana comes across as especially gross because she's clearly a try hard. If she was just posting about her own sexual preferences it would be way TMI and gross, but something about her feels sleazier than that. It always seems like she's a 15 year old girl trying to come across as "grown" and "sExY" to potential baby daddies, or trying to make her exes jealous. It never even seems like she's just slutty and that's her thing or whatever. It seems way worse than that, like she's always faking or the most desperate, insecure girl in the 9th grade. Which is understandable in 9th grade but not in your mid 20s with two children.

I'm not shocked Briana (and Javi) bought their dog from a pet store. Lots of pet adoption agencies want to be able to verify that your lifestyle is dog-friendly (they ask if you're a student, if you travel for work, etc), make sure that your landlord allows pets (meaning you've got to pay a pet deposit as well in most cases), and follow up to make sure you've taken the puppy/dog to a vet if they make you list your vet on the forms.

One of the former renters in our rental property (who is also a good friend) tried to adopt through one of our local animal rescue groups (that runs the local animal shelter) and they called us to make sure as landlords that we'd be okay with him having the dog and asked us if we knew if his lifestyle would be a good fit for a dog. We said yes and yes....however, they called him back and told him he wasn't qualified to adopt because he was working 40 hours a week and in nursing school, so they weren't sure he'd have adequate time for the dog.  They did invite him to re-apply if he wanted to adopt a dog in the future when he finished nursing school.  Ten plus years ago, my college roommate and I tried to adopt a cat our senior year of college and were denied by one cat adoption agency because we were students as well (although another agency did allow us to adopt a cat). Adopting an animal in many places is almost like applying for a loan or job that requires a background check! Ha!

Animal rescue groups also generally either have already had the dogs spayed/neutered or require that they be spayed/neutered. (You know, all things good pet owners would do/take care of....and we know most of these girls/guys don't get their dogs fixed...although I think Kail *maybe* has).  Something tells me that due to the requirements/checks by animal rescue organizations these days in many places, Briana (& Javi) wouldn't necessarily qualify to adopt from a reputable animal rescue.  

However, I'm probably giving them too much credit in thinking they may have even tried to get a rescue dog. It probably didn't even cross their minds. They probably saw that TM check direct deposit in their bank accounts and were like "OOOOH! I wanna buy a puppy!"

I can't imagine why all these girls decide to get puppies at the worst possible time!!! Puppies are a LOT of work, and I can't think of a worse time to get one than living with your four relatives in a small apartment, new baby, and new long-distance relationship. Leah got a new puppy after a divorce and rehab, with three small children and an addiction problem, while she was frequently moving from place to place. Jenelle's life is ALWAYS unstable, and she gets pets like they're going out of style. At least Chelsea waited until she had a home and some stability before she got Pete, but I don't even think I would have gotten her animals if I'd been Randy during the couch-sitting, trying-to-get GED phase. I would have said, "i'm already paying for all your expenses for you and your child. You can get your own dog when you finish beauty school!" I thiiiiiiink Kail waited until getting with javi to have a dog...at least she didn't have one while getting kicked back and forth between Jo's house, her mom's house, welfare house, etc. Idiot Briana would have found that to be the perfect time to get a dog!

You see folks, holding out for a solid 6 months of dating before having a baby is the smart thing to do (in the TEEN MOM world - in OUR world you want to be with someone more than 6 months to plan for a baby) due to the revolving door of relationships these people have. I was seriously expecting some pregnancy news by now. I shocked and impressed that no babies or weddings came out of this 4 month relationship. Impressed. Sacrcasm.

I wonder if there's any way Briana realizes how hard having one baby is, and smartly decided that two was too many! I think most of these girls idealize having a baby, since they all had a rough first experience as teens. They all want to have babies as adults and think it will be a cake walk, but It never is. For instance, I wonder if Chelsea has decided having a baby is harder than she expected. She's in the best situation, and with her babyyyyyyyy fever for little Coleys, not being able to wait until the wedding, etc, I expected her to be pregnant again within the year. Since she lost all that weight for her second wedding, I wouldn't be surprised if she wants to enjoy her body for now and hold off on the WORK of having more, even with a supportive family. Kail talked so much about being "cute pregnant," and I think she relished the thought of having this baby in her McMansion. Even though she tried to trap Chris, I'm sure there is a part of her that is fine with doing it alone, and actually prefers it that way. I mean, she gets 100% of the control! Yet, she seems to harbor guilt (writing that"letter to her boys") and has seemed on the verge of a breakdown since the baby was born (well, when has she not?). Plus she had all that stress about whether Chris would attend the birth, etc. Maybe Briana is smart enough to realize that having two back-to-back babies isn't a good idea for everybody, even good moms like Chelsea (for all we know, Chelsea may be trying, but I'm surprised she hasn't announced by now).

I’m not so surprised Chelsea isn’t pregnant yet. She is only 26.....she and Cole have another decade of baby making ahead at least. She most likely won’t want another huge gap between her kids, she will probably have 1-2 more in the next few years. 

 

I think you hit the nail on the head- two children is always 3x as much work as one. Briana had just gotten to the point where Nova was more independent and starting school full time, now back to the baby stage. She’s tired! (She should be.)

The plastic surgery debate is another example of Javi's controlling ways. Briana is an idiot and total trash. But that's not the reason they broke up...it's that she wouldn't change all of her future plans (stupid or not) for him within weeks/months of dating. 

News flash, Javi: if you want an uber submissive woman willing to mold her life to yours immediately, find some local religious girl with no kids or just one, or a young military widow. Not Kail and Briana! They both pride themselves on "not needing a man." 

But I suspect that's part of the draw for him. He's turned on by it on some level. He dated a few nice, normal girls and it didn't work for him. He wants to feel like he can conquer someone who's mouthy or a challenge. No different from Jenelle with her bad boy fetish. 

His love life isn't going to end well unless he gets it together. He has about one last chance, or one last reality show stint, before any girl who would actually be compatible with him in terms of desired power dynamics wouldn't even be interested.

The reason about the plastic surgery doesn't make sense to me. Briana isn't always fully honest. Perhaps Javi was encouraging her not to go through with the surgery because she is fine just the way she is (well, she isn't, but you know what I mean). Sort of how like Keefah told Jenelle to not have breast implant surgery.

I could see that, and then her lying about it. Or maybe she has some future "plans" (like for a porn career) that she isn't telling?

Alternatively, I could *definitely* see Javi as the type to say things like "you shouldn't change your body if that's the way *I* want it" or "why do you want plastic surgery? do you want other guys looking at you? DO YOU DO YOU DO YOU?!?!?!" 

Or both. Probably both.
