Dating on a week night. Doesn't he have homework? Isn't Friday usually a test day?

He would have material to read to prepare for his classes, but he may have already done it.

Fridays aren't "test days" in law school. Generally speaking, the only "tests" in law school are the end of term final exams. However, I went to law school back when dirt was young and mastodons roamed the earth. For all I know, things have changed in the eons since then, and 1Ls are given some kind of interim or practice exams so they are better prepared for final exams. We just had to suck it up and deal. Oh, the brutality. *snicker*

Aw, sorry, I was just thinking of undergrad time (and kidding). Nursing school was - well, there's six tests this week, three quizzes, don't get a B on any of them or you're out of the program! Jill's pea brain would explode.

It's cool. I'm reading this very early in the morning before the coffee has kicked my brain into gear. 😴 Probably should just read and not post yet.

And, nurses are awesome. ❤️  I don't have a pea brain - usually - but nursing school would have exploded my brain for sure!

I think I'll just sit here and play with emojis until the caffeine kicks in. 🤣

Oh, you're fine. Anyone can do nursing school if they'e good at reading and time management. I could never be a lawyer!

I wonder what those students who were eyeball deep reading legal rulings, writing out assignments, missin their kids and spouses etc. think about Derick taking a mental middle schooler out for sushi and to talk about mens rea*.

*I only know what this is because of Legally Blonde.

Ummmm, I’m wondering why she didn’t bother to put on a clean shirt for “date night”.   Especially after she posted about her hot dog debacle earlier.   So hot! 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️🙄🤦🏼‍♀️

The way I understood it (don't have the ambition to even scroll up to double check right now) was that she loved this sort of print because of the aforementioned hot-dog story, not that she had spilled ketchup and mustard on this particular shirt. Which probably says as much about her communication skills than anything else. The shirt is pretty ugly in any case. Maybe she's hoping to add some more food stains to this one to embellish it further as well.

I can just feel the starchy, cheapness of that thin fabric!  I bet it pills, too, after a few washes.

About comments, Jill thanked someone who said her long hair is beautiful.  She also said that yes, they ALWAYS sit side by side in restaurants since the table is so much space between them!

I can't imagine Jill has any context to follow what's going on in Derick's classes. Sitting there must be terribly boring. She probably uses the time to update her lifestyle blogs

The only two classes I think she could somewhat follow are crim law and maybe torts.  She would definitely be lost in the property class with its springing interests and the Rule against Perpetuities.   She would certainly be bored out of her mind in Civil Procedure and Federal Jurisdiction.  Or my all time favorites--Contracts and Equity.

Is she actually going to all his classes everyday?   I think if she did that and I taught one of those classes, I would eventually call on her to answer a hypothetical;  I am not sure the School of the Dining Room Table prepared her for the Socratic method used in most law schools.  I  seem to recall Josh talking about going to law school in the days before he got married and was still the golden child.

I'm 5'1". That would make a nightshirt on me. If I really, really wanted a poly blend floral nightshirt, Primark probably has one for eight dollars.

Jill's hotdog story is written in her own voice. In other words, it probably sounds exactly the way she talks when she's not on camera. I wonder how Derick puts up with her yammering about the special events of her day--hotdogs, mustard, spills and such. Not that I really care how Derick feels about any of the consequences resulting from his marriage.

I missed the backstory about the dress and how it would blend with spilled food.  The pattern looks like it would be more at home in an upholstery fabric shop.

I wonder how JB feels toward Derrick now.   First,  Josh and the senior Duggars are persona non grata on the show.  Then Derrick gets himself and Jill booted off.  This cannot make JB happy since his main goal is keeping his family dynasty on the air forever and ever.

Doesn't she get neck cramps?  I know I do when I talk to someone sitting next to me.

And there is too much space between them! Get a life sweetie.

Can anything be done to move Derick's upper jaw over so that his teeth are more centered in his face?

I know surgery can adjust the position of a lower jaw - my son will be getting it sometime in the next 4-5 years - but what happens with the upper jaw? Because Derick's teeth look really strange being so far over to the side.

People willing to spend 42 dollars on a shapeless, low quality T shirt will not be swayed to buy it with the ' hides the mess' marketing done by Jill, lol.

She really just can't get it together. Everything she does is a hot mess. I'd feel bad for her but she has the ability to fix it. Or hide it better.

Yes, but the surgery is super painful, expensive and risky.  I would hope that they are at least trying some non-surgical techniques (night mouthpiece or headgear) to try and fix it.

This is one area I feel bad for Derick. I believe surgery to widen and align his palate is what made Derick's misalignment worse. The surgery or the aftercare. I'm guessing he has rubber bands and headgear to make corrections as he is still wearing braces. He had the surgery very soon after Izzy was born so he is 3 years out of the surgery.

He's almost 4 years post-surgery. Izzy will be 4 in early April. Derelict had his surgery when Izzy was just a few weeks old.

February 2019 Pictures and Videos

Mar 16, 2019 | Family Blog, Photos | 0

Here is our compilation of fun pictures and videos from the month of February. Israel mastered riding his bike with training wheels “really fast”…and more importantly, he also learned how to effectively stop. He also really started to enjoy reading now that he has found there are several books he can read all by himself! Sam started actually trying to use words instead of grunts to communicate now. lol This month we enjoyed birthday parties, Jax’s (our nephew’s) baby dedication, time with family and a few warm days to play outside. February wasn’t complete without several sick days for the boys, including a trip to the local Children’s hospital for tummy trouble with Israel. Derick has been studying like crazy and had his first midterm this month. He has also been looking into some summer job opportunities.

Anyone catch her comment about Derick “looking” at summer job opportunities?   Are we taking bets on his actually “working” this summer?

Law students during the summer usually work as a law clerk in a law firm to give them an idea of what working in a law firm would consist of.   I work in a law firm, so that's what I think about.  I'm sure there are other options, maybe in the DA's office or PD's office.

I would feel sorry for any secretary or paralegal that had to work with Derick.  He would probably think he's so much smarter because he's a first-year law student than someone who has been a secretary or paralegal for over 15 years.

Also, law firms usually have a few parties during the summer for the law clerks. I'm in Atlanta, so there's usually a Braves game and then one or two after-hours gatherings at a local bar.  I cannot imagine Jill fitting in in a situation like that.  Travis Story's law firm would be a better fit for Derick (and Jill).
