The top of the head behind the very blonde possibly-Josie could be Jana or JoyAnna - it looks blondish and straight. Also, Anna's face looks rather full - pregnant?  Although in that shopping photo posted the other day, her face looked thin. Maybe that wasn't a brand-new photo.  I think I see various Howler boys, particularly one next to Jessa.

This is entirely and probably erroneously based on her admitting in that Creationist Museum episode that evolution might actually make just a little bit of sense though it's obviously wrong because the Bible says so. That's borderline irresponsible speculation, at least to me. There is plenty of disturbing crap about the Duggars to focus on without inventing new stuff. If that is bruising on her face, she could have sustained that a million different ways. When I was seven, my mom was trying to put some ointment on my foot because I stepped on a bee, and she hit a ticklish spot. I accidentally kicked her in the face HARD and she had TWO black eyes because of it. 34 years later and she still shoots me a dirty look whenever she recalls that memory.

Her lip could be a cold sore, and I think Anna actually bites her lip while thinking as well. The rest looks like shadows.

And like the rest of you - shit happens. I opened a car door into my own face/eye. I swung a duffel bag over my shoulder and knocked out one of my kids teeth (It was loose and hanging by a thread, but still). This last winter my hubby slipped on an icy curb and was bruised from scalp to shoulder.

Anna looks disturbingly like Michelle in that picture, I think it's the rictus grin and the dead eyes. As for bruises, she does look a bit banged up, but since it's an official photo posted on the Duggar FB page... they're stupid but I doubt they are THAT stupid.

Debatable. Remember Catgate? But not in this case.

It does look like a bruise. But I imagine that maybe she got an accidental sock in the eye from one of the boys or even Mere. It happens. Smuggar is many things, but I don't think he'd get away with hitting his wife, even with the most unfortunate of Fathers overseeing this operation. I am pretty confident that Boob would not tolerate that behavior, because he'd never do it. His world is black and white, but in this case, if Smuggar was smacking Anna around, she would never be out in public to arouse suspicions; as we learned with Joshgate, they handle this shit internally and hide it under a bushel.

Is it possible she got whacked while trying to restrain one of the kids during a tantrum? My niece used to flail and kick as a toddler, and my sister often took a shot while trying to pick her up or move her. There could be a hundred different explanations for Anna's injury. I agree that the magazine insulting it's a result of DV is irresponsible.

Call me cynical but I'm betting that Josh is still less than the perfectly faithful husband and that most of the adults in the family know it and they've just decided to let Josh 'be Josh' and to pay off Anna with whatever means necessary be it child care help or a house or money, just my opinion and speculation.  Josh probably isn't expected to not cheat he's just expected to not get caught, just my opinion. If that is the case, Anna is just expected to accept it and look the other way and not make waves while she has the full support of the Duggar family.  Maybe I'm wrong but then again I could be right.

It's not like he originally had a one-time fling with a co-worker. He went so far as to set up a fake profile on Ashley Madison for the express purpose of having extramarital affairs. That's not a man who will ever be satisfied with the banalities of family life.

I agree. Also, he never got proper treatment, either as a teen or as an adult. Manual labor, lectures from a child pornographer and chair-bondage-sermon therapy do not count.

I think that Josh will try a few more years to sing and dance to JB's tune (also known as cheat and not get caught), but after 5 years or so I don't think he will be able to take it any more. He's going to want his freedom away from Anna and the kids and his responsibilities, which he will never have in the TTH. So long as he lives there JB will make him at least pretend to be a dutiful husband, the pretending is just going to get harder and harder.

Par for the course, though. They've never cared about any of the kids' development. Shit schooling. And their behavior was supposed to be in lockstep for the older ones. THIS....so much this! This is a textbook case of what the end result of a union between a megalomaniac and a woman obsessed with "baby hunger" looks like.

Really hope that Smuggley Do Right stops the baby train where it is. 4 kids is more than he can afford right now, as his long term employment prospects and earning potential don't look good.  Smuggar is so repugnant that he's enough to shut down most women's ovaries.

Jilly and Jessa are obviously realizing that pumping out baby after baby won't work all that well for them. Jill thinks Israel is a handful, and though Jessa seems a better mom than Jill, she's hopefully smart enough to realize this formula of having 19 kids is not reality.  Moving away to Laredo with Jinger and Jeremy will hopefully teach them that limiting the size of one's family to what one can afford and reasonably take care of means using the good sense that God already gave most of the rest of us.

If Josh wants to continue cheating, I wonder who it would/could be with, and how it could be kept secret. He is under his family's noses now instead of off in DC. And they all have his number so I am sure they would notice any unexplained absences from home. He probably has 27 accountability partners at this point.
