Whether people want to admit it or not. The absolute humiliation and degradation and the complete joy and jollies people are having over this could also say something about the "so called" people of tolerance. Dental work, holding a baby, weight, food placement, clothing, friends, etc.. etc.. sigh and etc.. All things that have nothing to do with their beliefs are dissected and frothed over like rabid dogs at a kitten farm. For pages and pages of derps..  What the hell do people expect to happen to children raised the way they were? We open our arms to ahemm.. well.. other people not so accepted by society and are the loudest in saying how they deserve a chance, and look at where they came from.. Josh is a prick, for sure. I still blame his parents. Dollars to fucking doughnuts if it were a a young man or woman raised just as fucked up, but under a different umm belief system. The reactions would be much different. 

 

You know what?  If it was any other person with a similar background, no, most people wouldn't care.  But because Josh Duggar and his parents have set themselves up as Moral Arbiters of What Is Right and have been obnoxious about it, it's freaking hysterical.  If these people had just quietly lived their lives, believing what they believe and doing what they do, no one would give a damn.  But, since they decided that basic cable programming constituted a Quiverful ministry, and their family has proven time and again not to live up to spiritual hype they've created for themselves, guess what?  Fair.  Freaking.  Game.  There are hundreds of good, God-fearing Christians who cheat on their spouses on the reg and quite frankly, I don't care.  (I wouldn't want to sleep with them, but hey, it's their relationship so what do I care?)  But this douchecanoe?  With his contract marriage and ridiculous headship rules?  And his former position at the FRC?  Nope.  It's just like when Bill Cosby's sealed deposition got released.  Once you make yourself a Moral Arbiter, you lose the right to privacy for your dumbassery.

I was thinking the same thing, and then remembered something from the "Sin in the Camp" posts on TWOP.  There were allegations that Josh, while working on Holt's campaign, apparently did nothing but sit in the campaign office all freaking day looking at porn.

While it wouldn't surprise me if Josh did this, I need to see more proof. This is too easy a thing to fake as a joke or to stick it to him. Credit cards are too easy to get in someone else's name. Unless he admits it or they prove it, I'm not going to condemn him for this particular scandal. The other scandal is still all his own molesting fault.

Lets say someone got a card under his name -not easy- and had it sent to the old Duggar house in AR, why would this person be looking for women in DC?  They would be searching in AR.  And if someone were trying to set him up, they spent over a year doing it and just so happened to shut it down right around the time that the Josh scandal broke.  A little too suspicious.  I'd place my Vegas bet on it being true and that at least a couple of women will come out in DC for the money. 

 

Why two accounts? I have two theories. 1)Anna learned about the first account. There is a gap between the two accounts, so he worked hard to be a faithful husband during that time. Eventually his craving for vagina (the boy likes to go to ChowTown!) caught up to him and he made the second account incase Anna ever logged into the first one to check up on him. 2)The second account was made because he realized he was dangerously dumb using his first name in his ID (JOSH_THE_MAN).

Maybe a combination of the two ideas expressed above.

I feel for Anna. My guess--only a guess--is that THIS fuckarow is one she knew nothing about. It's extremely common in a cheating situation for the betrayed partner to have a first reaction of "Am I not enough? Not sexy enough, not adventurous enough, not pretty enough, not available enough?" Even if the rational mind knows better, the broken heart reels.

Anna played the part that her church and her parents told her was the foolproof way to righteousness, and here she is: married to a cheating, hypocritical sack of shit, no education, no job skills, no prospects and four tiny children counting on her to make their world okay. Worst of all, she has to face this fresh emotional insult with the whole world watching. It truly sucks to be her this morning.

There are many women in DC who look for no-strings attached affairs that work in government or for other high profile industries. In response to some posts here, stating that most of her are "licking our chops" with smug happiness over this new Josh situation: I, for one, took no pleasure in reading this new information, if it is true. If it isn't true, and someone out there is determined to "get this Duggar family", that is disgusting too. I think that most of us posters and readers were and are genuinely shocked at this coming out. If it is true, WOW, then...this family is screwed up and are the poster children for hypocrisy, liars, and frauds in "plain English". I would like for Josh to step forward and soon, publicly to address these accusations against him...are they true or not? His silence on this one, would make people believe that it is true, IMO. Anna needs to grow up already and realize that popping out 4 children in 6 years doesn't make her grown up or mature, or a woman at all.. she's merely a physically mature child with a child's mind...that is NOT SWEET, but IGNORANT...ignorance in anyone when information and education is readily available to them is not attractive. In theory, yes.  But if someone, say InTouch or Star game you a six figure check once the dust settled from your divorce, I'm pretty sure more than a couple of women would take that deal.  Or, we could get a Linda Tripp, where someone knows her friend made the beast with two back with Joshy Boy, gets them to admit it on text or on the phone, and sells *THAT* story.  If Josh did more than just shop for a hook up, it'll come out.

While Ashley Madison does market to cheaters, the site could appeal to anyone who's looking for some (purportedly) super-discreet sexytime, married or not. There was someone on reddit (so take with a grain of salt) who was freaking out about the Ashley Madison leak because he was gay in a country where being gay could get him killed, and he had used Ashley Madison because he figured the site was secure and they promised discretion.

I'm actually not shocked, because I trust these "traditional family values" activists about as far as I can throw 'em. My default setting is to assume that they're moral hypocrites in some way, shape, or form.

 

I guess the only thing I'm mildly surprised about is that he used Ashley Madison. I don't know why that surprises me. It all just seems so fortuitous.

Just when you thought it couldn't get worse for Anna Duggar, it does. I can only have so much pity for her since she went into this "marriage" with eyes wide open, fully aware of what kind of nasty jackass she was marrying, but I still feel sorry for her. However, that pity has a time limit. If she doesn't divorce this fool, she has effectively accepted her lot. I realize that she has four kids and zero marketable job skills, but she can make it work as countless women before her have. When life gets tough, you have get a little tougher.

I wondered that last night as well. If you keep her phone away from her, how would she know? The Duggars seem like the type to withhold information. I wouldn't be surprised if his parents have effectively washed their hands of him and told him he's on his own to deal with this.  Can't say I would blame them either. Helping cover things that happened as a 15 year old is at least somewhat understandable from a certain point of view, but now? I also think they probably are going to blame the "worldly temptations" of DC life.

Anna has an Instagram account and comments about the leak began coming in as soon as the news broke yesterday.  I think she definitely knows, and last night had to be one of the most difficult nights of her life.

 

I don't for one second believe Anna went into this with her eyes fully open.  She was raised in a patriarchal environment, had zero life experience before she married him, and she was told that Josh's molestation was no big deal.  She is entirely a product of how she was raised and I have nothing but sympathy for her and the kids.

She could become a surrogate mother.  My friend's sister did it several times, including twice for a gay couple who are in show business and flew her entire family to London to attend a Harry Potter film event.  She's also done it for hetero couples.  It's pretty lucrative.  In addition to paying for the use of her womb, the couples paid for medical care, maternity clothes, and groceries to ensure she ate well and healthily.  Of course I doubt Anna would do such a thing, but in the absence of other, marketable skills, it's an option.

Side note - Anna's been to Doctors for the pregnancy's but she more sticks to Midwives and people who share her beliefs; she's not a complete dummy but I've been wondering if she really knows what STD's are, the different kinds and the different risks.  Sincerely hope she does or finds out soon and has the nerve to demand being tested.  We don't know if Josh went through with any affairs but any women in Anna's place would be going the better safe than sorry route right now.

And, really? Even if a guy paid $250 for that "guarantee," who's going to demand his money back? Like, challenge it on his credit card bill, where as a consumer you can do that IF you provide some details of why the merchant should refund your money. Uh huh. Don't see that one happening, at least not with Josh. And IIRC that "guarantee" may not have been to refund the member's money, but to provide that amount of additional membership perks, etc.

Reading this news (and assuming it is true) shocked me at first, but then upon further consideration, it's really not that surprising.  I think Josh is an entitled, egomaniac raised in an extremely patriarchal environment.  Based on what we have seen of the Duggars on TV and other media and certainly confirmed when we all learned how the Duggars' reacted to Josh's molesting of others, I truly believe that there has never been any adverse consequences TO JOSH from his behavior.  Consequences to others, yes, but not to him.  Josh probably thought he would never get caught.

 

There is another part of me that also wonders whether these accounts are also related to the repressive environment regarding sex that Josh and Anna come from.  Both are told that you can't even KISS someone before you are married, then once you are married, boom, not only can you kiss, but you can have sex, etc.  I don't think either of them have the tools to have a healthy conversation about sex, what they like and don't like, how to communicate with each other about trying new things, etc., all of which are part of creating a healthy, happy, and satisfying sex life for both partners.  To be clear, I am not excusing Josh's behavior at all and I know people have affairs for lots of reasons, but just my two cents....

I agree that she'll have to get tough, completely. But toughness is usually something we have to grow into as we go through hell. With 4 tiny children including a nursing newborn, and a life under severe publc scrutiny, this all has to be a little slice of hell, heartbreaking and scary.
