Yeah, definitely a matter of degree.  Bethenny's calling him a cokehead on national TV was an attempt to destroy his reputation and his business.  That was a kill shot, and the fact that it didn't work doesn't change the intent or the sheer maliciousness.  Carole just wanted to humiliate him.  (Calling someone a "pedafile" when you don't even know how to spell the word--or maybe even know what it means--is probably just stupid and sloppy.  And it's clearly not true, so who knows where that one falls?)  All of them pretty damn nasty, though.

Well she's internalized misogynist ideas about women and aging so I'd call it sad rather than just stupid. Women didn't create those standards but it's very understandable why they're susceptible to internalizing and reinforcing them. All but B and LuAnn seem caught up in that.

A correction, and only because someone reported in the Botched forum, after seeing a patient do it on the show, that sticking straws up your nostrils does make it easier to breathe, and I therefore believe PTV can be a great source of unintended education...a living will is the one that says whether you want to be kept alive via artificial means; it has nothing to do with a last will and testament.  I now kind of wonder if Bethenny understood the difference when she fell apart at the mere mention--if she thought it had to do with her money instead of life-and-death decisions.

Carole has said this "friendly w/o friends' business but then refuses to go on a trip if Lu is invited and also never RSVP'd  to some party Lu was having.  Carole needs to stop being so "insulted" and move on.  She really is a big baby. Carole acted all aloof and untouchable by the common piss-fights the other women were having in the beginning but in reality she takes herself Waaay seriously than even the others do! (and they are all pretty damned self-important so that's saying something.)  What Lu said wasn't the end of the world. Both Bethenny and Kyle say they are friends, long time friends and I just don't see Kyle doing anything that could hurt a friend this publicly. Kyle and Erika were not/are not close and Bethenny didn't say that Kyle didn't want Luann invited so she didn't use Kyle as an excuse. IMO, Kyle would never do something to hurt an old friend and would make sure they were Ok with whatever she was going to do first. Oh, and I am sure that this Sonja/TG tasting was planned weeks, if not months ago, before Kyle went on her vacation.

It has appeared to me that during the scenes in which LuAnn comes up and Carol is talking about what has gone on between them, we see snippets of the conversation and Carole isn't the one bringing it up.  Basically, she just reiterates that she thinks Lu is full of it and that her apology wasn't genuine or sincere. (I tend to agree, because Lu is about Lu, and everything she does is strategic.  I think she realized that this issue with Carole was going to affect her relationships with everyone else, including Queen B - so she bit the bullet and apologized repeatedly) 

In my opinion, Carole's not the one bringing up, but it's brought up by the meddler du jour.  I think she's annoyed about being pushed to discuss it over and over.  I thought she was pretty cool to Lu at dinner, too - and LuAnn certainly seemed appreciative.  I'm watching the dinner scene again right now to see if I missed something that would make me think otherwise....

What I'd really love is to see is Lu stand up at one of these bullshit gatherings & start screaming at Bethenny -- "Look, bitch, while you're off judging me & my sexual behavior, just what in the fuckety fuck is going on with you & that man you're banging, eh, hun?  I'd love to hear more deets on this relationship.  Sounds real, real juicey to me.  Now, if everyone else weren't so terrified of Bethenny, maybe someone other than Lu (like Moaner) could get to the bottom of what's going on with Bethenny & this guy.  But Lu is the only one willing (& able) to stand up to Bethenny.  Moaner is making me nauseous the way she's smooching up to her (even more than Carole -- and that's saying something).  Anyhoo, I'd rather get the lowdown on what's going on with this relationship of Bethenny's than this over-blown stuff on her fibroids or a SkinnyGirl event I couldn't care less about.

Bethenny goes on and on about her bleeding-what does she want these women to do for her?  She cancelled her surgery she can't be too sick.  She is out promoting her Skinnygirl crap, vacationing in Vermont, filming, how much does she want to talk about her fibroids?  Why does anyone want to talk about gynecological issues at the dinner table or over drinks?  Why would anyone text her daily for the soaked pad update?   Jules situation was an injury she answered it appropriately-I am 95%.  I don't really think Dorinda and Luann are all that comfortable with the crotch talk.  Dorinda is definitely not comfortable with the sex between partners talk, nor is Ramona which leaves Sonja, Jules and Bethenny who want to talk about the others sex lives.  Luann can be colorful but keep the uterine bleeding talk to a minimum.  It doesn't take a self-described etiquette expert to stick by that simple rule.

The reason Beth stepped out with that hideous clutch purse/art project thingie is because she hires girls whose main job is to agree with her, and listen to her monologue. No one dares to speak up with anything constructive.

Bethenny had the IUD Mirena I'm sure of it. The Mirena releases contact progesterone to your uterine lining which keeps the lining thin to non existent. At first when you get one you bleed, irregularly . Anytime the uterus builds up lining it thinks to release it, so you spot constantly even for up to a year. It's unnerving because you never know when it is coming and its light usually, and annoying. Some women get Mirena not for BC but to lessen heavy periods, or wacky pre menopausal bleeding (Bethenny).  you get a Mirena out there is a well documented crash and bleeding. Bethenny needs to shut it. She had her Mirena out, they found fibroids, she's almost to menopause. She went ten seconds to launch that Brynn would have to live with her dad forever. She has so many issues. She needs serious help or that kid is doomed.

Am I the only one who thinks part of the reason why Carole is so annoyed at LuAnn is because deep down inside the age difference between her and Adam really does bother her?  I know that *she* knows the relationship will have a short timeframe b/c of their ages, but on some level mybe she feels embarrassed in a sense that Adam is kind of her trophy wife?

Thanks for the info. Never used an IUD or had health issues like that.

I read something interesting about Bethenny's Skinnygirl Margarita:

Is Carole sorta embarassed by this relationship with Adam because he's so much younger?  Deep down, maybe that's possible.  But she was acting somewhat braggy to the world about this relationship, wasn't she?  I mean by riding on the handle bars of his bicyle like a silly teen girl.  Who knows what that was about?  Was she posing for the cams or just being silly in the moment?  Carole is so full of crap lately Idk what to believe about her.

I do believe her surprise & shock the relationship has lasted this long & is still going on.  She already has shown to the cams her annoyance & impatience with him when he dared to infringe on her supposed expertise as a writer (oh heaven forbid anyone do that to Writergirl) by making suggestions (which she clearly didn't care for) about their book that'll never happen.

So why are these 2 still together?  I suspect she woulda dumped him ages ago if he wasn't so young.  His being so much younger is a nice ego boost for her.  I've seen Carole in person recently.  She dresses nicely & she has a nice body, but she looks her age & is really only moderately attractive.  Gosh, there are tons of exquisitely pretty young women around here, who a tall attractive young guy like Adam could hook up with in a second.

My question is, what the heck is he still doing with her?  Is he extremely passive or lazy or throwing girls away or cheating on her or using Carole for her money or is he with her to be on TV?  Who knows, but her claims of surprise at the relationship lasting this long show her insecuity to me -- that he hasn't left her by now for a younger & better looking woman.  And maybe he won't.  Maybe he's just too passive or he's too much of an opportunist.  

I'm rememberng Carole's stankface reaction to Bethenny's throwing out how she & Adam are having tons of sex & I'm wondering the actual reason for Carole's stankface.  Was she merely reacting to Bethenny cruelly & thoughtlessly & oh-so-casually revealing a private confidence?  Or was it that Bethenny said out loud (and to the cams) the real reason she's still hangin' with Adam?  Hmmmm.

Bethenny contends they should not be happy for Luann because when she first came on the show she claimed she was happy and her marriage wasn't as happy as she claimed and that is somehow behaving like a Countess.  So because Luann's first marriage dissolved Luann isn't allowed to be happy because she wasn't always happy in her first marriage.  So in essence if Bethenny, the grudge holder, deems that at some point in your life you feigned happiness or were unwilling to admit you weren't happy, you are never allowed to be happy because to claim such a thing raises questions for Bethenny and it also renders you self-absorbed.  

Ramona can't be happy for Tom and Luann because Tom was with someone he had been dating for three months (according to Ramona's previous claims of her ownership of Tom during the same period of time she was with Tom) and when he and Luann met up they clicked and should not be allowed to be happy because of how they met.

Dorinda can't be happy for Luann even though she is and was instrumental in introducing the two because Bethenny doesn't like John.  She also can't be happy because Luann puts her relationship with Tom over her non-relationship with Carole. 

Jules can't be happy for Luann because Jules is in the throes of denial about her eating disorder and had a more interesting gynecological situation than Bethenny.

Carole can't be happy because Luann isn't agonizing over the fact that Carole doesn't like her and has stopped the apology train.  For purposes of the dinner she would rather listen to Luann and encourage her happiness than have Bethenny discuss she and Adam's sex life.

Sonja can be happy for Luann because her claims on Tom give Bethenny material.

I have to admit, the romance Lu's in doesn't feel right to me.  I feel like both of them are in a storyline showmance.  It's either that or she subliminally is trying to recreate the whirlwind romance she had with The Count.  Or her money ran out so she doesn't seem to care if he might be a Housewives groupie.

Or just like all of these shows, Lu is really in love with Tom but figures acting somewhat shady and over the top about it would make for a great storyline.  

Whatever the case, I do love watching Lu get under the skin of others.  Watching this show through the years, she has really mastered that.  Bethenny loves to talk about giving zero fucks all over social media, but to me, she's the most easily wounded out of all of them.  Lu truly gives zero fucks.  Or less fucks than them all!

I think he's both a feather in her cap and a thorn in her side because while she's proud of getting this young man, I'm sure just like the wealthy older man with the trophy wife people will think he's there only for her connections.

Now, I think Carole is attractive.  She's witty, interesting, and ask you said, great body.  I could see a younger guy being enamored by her.  But I just don't think that this relationship has the legs she is starting to convince herself it has.  I think she knows full well that she'll probably get him to where he needs to be financially and then some pretty younger woman will come his way and they'll marry and have kids.  I would bet she finds herself conflicted -- she's let herself care more than she expected even though she knows he'll want something different that she can't give him. 

On Bethenny's "having sex all this time" -- maybe it was her first time realizing that the person who claims to give zero fucks really does give zero fucks about sharing things in confidence.

Great info on the Mirena. I had an IUD placed at planned parenthood 6 years ago and this is basically what they told me. There are 2 kinds, the Mirena is perpetual spotting with hormones, the paraguard is heavier periods with no hormones. I chose the paraguard and have never been happier.  Beth is acting like she was going to die from a simple KNOWN by product of a common medical device.  

One thing to note--I know someone up thread posted how dangerous IUDs are--this was true in the seventies when the dalkon shield wreaked havoc on women's bodies. It is NOT TRUE today. IUDs are the number one contraception choice of women who are medical professionals.  They are incredibly safe, and as effective as tubal ligation without the surgery or permanence.
