S06.E17: Lymes In The Sand

Great episode!

My family and I went to Dubai last March, so it was great reminiscing on the mutual places encountered!

Good thing that they dined in after they settled in...because Rinna, Katherine, and Eileen would have had to change again. No bare shoulders or short hemlines.

All fun and games for Katherine to not want to conform to the group/be rebellious, until she winds up being detained for indecency. *sideeye* #dummy

I GUARANTEE they didn't pay full rate for any of their accommodations.

 

 

On and off Dubai actively courts things like this show when they suffer any downturns as a whole in terms of being a destination.  There was a write up several weeks before about it in the Wall Street Journal on how the unrest across the Middle East and ISIS in particular had led to many to avoid the whole area for almost two years.  As well, Dubai and Abu Dhabi doing much better but both took a huge hit in the global recession following 2008.  I wonder how many suites of such beauty and opulence are sitting empty too many nights a year? 

 

Nice to see Yoolander in full glory.  That fake award ceremony annoys me to no end.  The only consolation is that Yoolander appears among friends of a like mind.   Yet all are bent on out Lyming the rest of them.  The minute Yoolander truly stumbles in her tall tales via social media, the rest will go for her throat to save themselves.

 

For that matter, so will the rest of these women.  Like them, love, loathe them, none of them are going to be willing to go down with her.  And she will go down I suspect.  Granted I think she will go to her grave simply out of arrogance, entitlement and a heavy dose of fixable ignorance.  But the perception of her being a fake can only grow since she has to expand her "journey" and seems addicted to social media.  It has tripped up bigger egos with smarter brains.  It does get me that her children are all so social media savvy and yet lack complete awareness.  It makes me a little sad because she is their mother and she raised them in good part to rely on nothing but their looks and apparently have taken their mother's life view and attitude.  But the two older children have to be aware of what is being said online as well since they live and die by google alerts I suspect.  So it remains to be seen if it simple arrogance, stupidity or determined avoidance of the issue.  Because more and more I suspect that Gigi avoided getting collared by the lies simply because she was too busy too early; not because she had the sense to get out from under the web of deceit and falsehood her mother keeps spinning.

 

And I so vote leaky boob as her problems from the start.  I remember someone on TWOP said something and had a link about right when Lyme took the stage and Yoolander discounted it. 

 

Brandi.  At some point her face is just going to split like an over ripe melon she keeps it so tight and full.  And yet it still looks haggard as hell.  I wonder how many months of this will it take before she can't completely close her mouth.  Because that is some cheap ass surgery she is getting.

If Yo is no longer participating in the show by interacting with the other women (except on her terms, at her events), then she needs to get off the show. I'm so done. Rinna was politely trying to say what 99% of viewers think, that While Yo may very well be sick she uses it strategically as both a weapon and a pass. I'm tired of her journey. But I  did love that she kept fake food in her fridge (thank you David for pointing that out). Yes, the King is done. I know they like to edit teh crap out the film, but it looked like David turned his back on Yo and walked away while she was talking to him. Wow, just wow. 

 

As long as I separate my knowlege about the repression of women in that country, I can enjoy the hotel porn. 

 

I was lol at what they were all wearing for a 20 hour flight. Rinna was kind of making fun of Erica, but I'd be dressed just like her for a long haul. Who wears tight jeans on an overnight? They are all crazy. And when they had to change planes in ATL, oh LVP, yes, it's such a bother to have to slog thru the airport, you need to have a Porsche pick you up. That was just stupid. THey had to climb up and down stairs. It actually would have been easier for them to get picked up at the gate inside and driven on a golf cart. But I guess Delta needed some advertising. I was really hoping they would fly Emirates with the beds and showers. 

 

As much as I can't stand Erica with her glam squad/paid gays, I loved it when she was saying that the women are always arguing over this and that, why can't we just have fun?? I second that. 

 

I think Rinna has wigs. I think her hair looks the same as a wig, but I used to wear her style years ago and it takes a lot of work. My guess is that she has her natural hair and wigs done to the same style and color so if she has to go out in public and does have time to do it or get it done, she just throws on a wig. 

 

Bandi can get off my TV now. Yo is scraping the bottom of the barrel if she is reduced to filming with Brandi and Kim. A little part of me wanted Brandi to go to Dubai, where they throw you in jail for swearing. She can't control herself, so we could easily rid ourselves of her by just letting her loose to commit all kinds of crimes (swearing, drinking in public, showing her boobs). Have fun in jail Brandi!

I was listening to a piece about Aberdeen Scotland yesterday, which was teh major benificiary of oil money up until a couple of years ago. Now everyone is out of work there.

While the opulence of the room is pretty crazy, If I had the money to spend a few nights in Dubious?

I lived in Atlanta for a number of years and have flown in, out, and through ATL enough times to know the airport like the back of my hand and I'd never once seen anyone picked up at the tarmac and taken by private vehicle to their connecting flight.  For some reason that really irked me.

 

Eileen is the only one who dressed appropriately for a 14 and a half hour flight.  Comfort and ease should be the key, not stilettos and perfect makeup.

I have nothing really to say about Yo's Lymes gala...except, I thought it was wonderful of the notoriously negative Wednesday Addams to show up. Oh wait....that was Kyle?

 

I also continue to find Yo's declarations of not being able to do "x,y,z" for ____ amount of time hilarious. No makeup in 11 months. (Well, except when you were at that restaurant to see Andrea Bocelli a few weeks ago.) Been in a robe for 14 months. (Well, except for literally every outing this season, and all of your Instagram adventures.) What's most impressive is that her Lyme-addled brain is able to remember such specific timelines. She never says anything like, "Wow, it's been so long since I've put on a full face of makeup and attended a big event like this". It's always, "It's been 19.5 months since I wore a high heel". Maybe if she wasn't keeping track of all these milestones, she'd actually be able to use her brain for other things - like remembering actual conversations. 

 

Off to Dubai! I loved, loved, loved their little THs about who they'd want to be arrested with. Rinna is so skinny she could squeeze through the bars. Kathryn would just beat the guards up. LVP would spin a web to trap them. Erika would have Tom all over it and get them out. Eileen would be a good time behind bars. Poor Kyle, no one wanted to go to jail with her. I'll go to jail with you, Kyle!!!

 

That hotel was magnificent. Holy shit. Those suites. They were like hotels themselves. I'd totally stay in the underwater room. That looked so fun. 

 

How awkward was Kathryn standing there in her leopard shirt dress while the rest of the women were rocking their long, flowing gowns? Thank goodness Kyle brought everyone presents! I have to say, LVP rocked her mumu! She should wear those more often; with her hair up like that. She looked so refreshed and young. But Eileen, who I usually think looks fabulous, was a bit of disappointment. I did not like that off-the-shoulder style and her makeup seemed way too heavy for the dress. 

 

So, of course, they can't just relax for 5 minutes. They have to get right down to beating that dead horse. Rinna, give it up already! If Erika doesn't care that Yo didn't show, you shouldn't either. I get it, we all have our frustrations with her and her histrionics, but you are the only one acting SO put off by it. It's making you look ridiculous. Just calm the fuck down. 

 

These women are going to ruin Dubai, aren't they? I have to say, as someone who LONGS to travel outside the country, but cannot see that happening any time soon, I get really really pissed off when these women have such amazing opportunities and squander them by fighting the entire time.

I might be a sucker, but I almost teared up a little bit at the scene of Lisa and Max and her giving him a car.  He just seemed so authentically happy and it was nice seeing him in a scene that wasn't about him being irresponsible or a problem child.

 

I so agree. I have a soft spot for Max. And I liked that he was more interested in hugging and thanking his mom, instead of immediately running off to the car.

Eileen's overalls on a long haul flight? No way. Those teeny weeny airplane toilets get wet floors. Lots of people use each cubicle/you get jostled in flight/sometimes there is turbulence/men don't always aim straight. So there's pee and water from hand washing on the floor. This documentary might address some of the questions you ask about the economy of Dubai and the crown prince. Personally I think the structure is sort of ugly but not as ugly as the building that looks like a giant phallic symbol in Beijing, China.

I would love to know the financial arrangements for the hotel in Dubai- did Mo-rice pony up a little e$tra for Kyle to stay in a $40,000 per night suite? No way Bravo paid all that, and some was likely comped for promotion but still, $40,000 a night?!

Yolanda and the benefit had the good sense not to invite Kim or Brandi as the chance of Brandi acting up were too great and I assume she would have demanded a per diem shooting pay if there were cameras around.  Yolanda was being strategic in who she invited.  Say the others couldn't make it was just a way of saying-no one wants to pay for them. 

 

I have to laugh at the hypocrisy of Brandi-she and Yolanda are all about the labels, so what does Brandi do in her talking head, label Rinna with hash tags and the ridiculous assertion Rinna wears wigs.  If Rinna did, again this is going after someone for their looks.  Rinna offers plenty without going in on her looks.

I fell down a pinterest hole last Sunday and somehow winded up on a site about luxury plane travel and good Gawd, is that the way to fly if you have extra tens of thousands of dollars laying around!!

Yo is exhausting but I must say she looked great at the charity event and that is what I picture NYC elite mega galas to look like and I enjoyed the glimpse even though I side eye any org that would give Yo an award.

Normally, I would never tell anyone to be anything other than true to themselves, however, I really hope Erika's gay squad butched it up in Dubai. 

 

Dubai looked amazing and I will have to live vicariously through the BH ladies because I am too scared to go to a place where failure (whether innocent or not) to conform to culturally strict rules could land you in jail for an extensive period of time. Getting side eyes from a Parisenne in Paris for being a loud or rude American is one thing and I can deal with that, but being thrown in jail for holding hands or reporting a sexual assault... are you kidding me!

Since Mauricio had just traveled to Dubai and Kyle got the royal suite, I'd guess that Mauricio footed the bill for that suite.

I questioned whether Rinna and Erika's very clingy leggings were ok for Dubai once they landed. I thought maybe they'd throw a skirt on over them once in Dubai but nope. 

 

When Kyle handed out the gifts why did they only show the one mumu being opened? Did I miss something?

 

I had Lyme disease. It went away w/doxy. I never saw the tick nor had a bullseye rash. I had ELISA and Western Blot testing (IGG/IGM) IGM new Lyme IGG old Lyme basically. I giggle at IGG. Gigi. IGG on the bus!!! Someone needs to ask Yolanda how often she repeats blot testing and which bands are reactive just to see her non answer. 

 

Holy shit the hotel porn!  Loved it.

 

I thought Lisar had a good point about why is Yolanda hanging w/Brandi after Brandi called her daughter an alcoholic.  You get to be friends w/Yolanda on her own terms not yours. Yolanda wants attention. Brandi's attention got her on the squad and David's lack of it got him off the squad.

I think it's her hair. LisaR has always had super thick hair, even back from her soap and Melrose Place days. Well, if this was Brandi's big return - I am glad it was about a minute - 59 seconds too long for me but I did actually laugh when Brandi was on but it was how she looked in her TH - was that a wig - her hair had something going on and it wasn't good. 

 

They all look great in their caftans or mumus or whatever they were called and except for LisaR bringing up Yo once again, I enjoyed seeing the rooms and them all just hanging around chatting.

 

I am one of those people that love Kyle and LisaV together.

 

Still like Kathryn for no reason but I do and really over Erika - sometimes like start to like Erika and then she says something or does something that screams out phony/contrived and the dislike starts over.

 

I am still so sad about LisaR turning into a harpie (to me) because I liked her on Days and Soap Talk but really don't like her on this show.  Harry seems like there is something off. I also hate any scenes with her and her daughters - I don't want to dislike teens so I blame their mother.

 

Eileen and Vince seems so normal to me - that is why I still like her but am bugged as to why that she has this grudge to LisaV.  After all, she had the affair - just move on.

A little part of me wanted Brandi to go to Dubai, where they throw you in jail for swearing. She can't control herself, so we could easily rid ourselves of her by just letting her loose to commit all kinds of crimes (swearing, drinking in public, showing her boobs). I was also wondering how places where oil is the backbone of the economy have fared during the instability  and collapse of oil prices. I was listening to a piece about Aberdeen Scotland yesterday, which was teh major benificiary of oil money up until a couple of years ago. Now everyone is out of work there. 

Actually if I remember correctly Oil only accounts for about 15% of their money, most of it comes from business running an office there. They paid rent but get tax benefits. That is why all the fortune 500 companies have an office in Dubai- Tax reasons.

I lived in Atlanta for a number of years and have flown in, out, and through ATL enough times to know the airport like the back of my hand and I'd never once seen anyone picked up at the tarmac and taken by private vehicle to their connecting flight.  For some reason that really irked me.

I feel like saying some of these words/people : Lyme, Brandi, munchausen, etc... is like saying Beetle juice. I don't think the producers care whether we like something or not as long as we say the words, or are talking about it. It is like the LOA- (law of attraction), whatever you focus on persists... with that said.

 

1) Dubai is beautiful and I was making noises you shouldn't about a place, vacation porn for sure....then I read the rules about being there. I was horrified and decided I don't want to be in jail, and if I want to touch someones hand..then I will. So basically if I went there I would be killed. So take that off list of places I temporarily wanted to go to so bad. 

 

2) I loved seeing how excited Max was about getting the car, He seemed genuinely appreciative vs entitled. 

 

3) Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle make good friends in my opinion, they have good friend chemistry.

 

4)All this he said- she said is getting very confusing. I feel like it is some quiz of who hates who and why. I don't think I would pass and I have an unhealthy obsession with this show.

My family and I went to Dubai last March, so it was great reminiscing on the mutual places encountered!

Good thing that they dined in after they settled in...because Rinna, Katherine, and Eileen would have had to change again. No bare shoulders or short hemlines.

All fun and games for Katherine to not want to conform to the group/be rebellious, until she winds up being detained for indecency. *sideeye* #dummy

I GUARANTEE they didn't pay full rate for any of their accommodations.

 

I doubt they paid full price, if anything at all… but the fact still remains, that someone does pay for a suite like that.  And that is obscene.

Eileen's overalls on a long haul flight? No way. Those teeny weeny airplane toilets get wet floors. Lots of people use each cubicle/you get jostled in flight/sometimes there is turbulence/men don't always aim straight. So there's pee and water from hand washing on the floor. Good luck keeping your overall straps off the wet floor!

 

Time to "stand up" and take your place beside us men, ladies.....

I thought Lisar had a good point about why is Yolanda hanging w/Brandi after Brandi called her daughter an alcoholic.  You get to be friends w/Yolanda on her own terms not yours. Yolanda wants attention. Brandi's attention got her on the squad and David's lack of it got him off the squad.

 

I don't get this either. It's one thing to say something unkind about me but it is a whole different thing to come at my kids. Yolanda lets Brandi call Bella an alcoholic but then gets her panties in a wad when Lisa repeats what Mohamed (the kids father) tells her.
