SmithW6079 February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 (edited) I like NPH. I think he is very talented, but he's misfiring here. Grest speech by the writers of "Glory." But, oops, politics again. Edited February 23, 2015 by SmithW6079 2 Link to comment

Umbelina February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 NPH finally landed a joke! Really? That's the good one to you? Not really, none of them have worked for me. It worked for the audience though. I think he's sucked, but the producers have sucked even more. Link to comment
Rick Kitchen February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 Wait, I'm confused. Did Lady Gaga perform yet? What's the point if they already won best original song? She's going to be doing a tribute to The Sound of Music, from what I understand. No, really. Link to comment
ParadoxLost February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 Not sure you should say "Woo!" to the comment that the U.S. has the highest percentage of incarcerations. Agree. Especially when there are countries that just kill offenders to keep the prison population down. Link to comment
mtlchick February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 News of the night: I did not realize that John Legend's last name was not Legend. I still can't get with the song, but DAMN Common needs to become a speech writer. "we live in the most incarcerated country in the world." "Woo!" "There are there more black men under correctional control today than there was in slavery." "Woo!" SERIOUSLY?! 2 Link to comment

iwasish February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 They wouldn't dare play these guys off, since it's the only award the film will win. I was waiting for Kanye to run on stage and say that Beyonce deserved the award. 14 Link to comment
Scott February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 So when you win an Oscar, it goes to your given names, but didn't Barbra Streisand once proclaim "the Oscar goes to Eminem for "Lose Yourself"? Plenty of stage names have won. I wonder if Legend and Common write their music under their real names, since the award goes to the writers, not the performers. I'm actually kinda curious about this now. Link to comment
Rina99 February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 And it doesn't help that his toup is much too full and luxurious. There's a part of me that appreciates that John Travolta has gone full-on "Yep, it's a lace-front, deal with it" in regards to his hair, and goes for the most ridiculous pompadour he can. Nope, it went to Marshall Mathers. She said "Lose Yourself" by Eminem, written and produced by Marshall Mathers and Luis Resto. Link to comment

thuganomics85 February 23, 2015 Author Share February 23, 2015 Sound of Music tribute? With Lady Gaga? I thought NBC taught me that the only person who could replace Julie Andrews was Carrie Underwoo.... hahahha! Sorry, couldn't even finish that. 16 Link to comment
McManda February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 When she's not trying to shock, Lady Gaga is actually a great singer and performer. I just don't understand why they're doing a SOM tribute ... ? 14 Link to comment
bmoore4026 February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 .......Is that what Lady Gaga looks like without all the over-the-top makeup and clothing? She's actually really nice looking. Also, she has a nice voice. Yes, she does. 5 Link to comment
CherryMalotte February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 Gawd help me, I'm diggin' what ScarJo has on. It's a good color for her. I'm sorry but SoM is a movie I hate. Detest. Can't watch under any circumstances, even for the hot Christopher Plummer, who still is kinda hot at his 80 plus years. It's like 2001 - A Space Bore, watched it once, want my time back. I wonder if I can file a complaint with the Academy? 1 Link to comment

mojoween February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 Next to having "Maria" from "West Side Story" sung to me all day and night, the runner-up was "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria" and it really didn't get old AT ALL. Hot damn...Lady Gaga sounds pretty good. I know how she made her money, but it's nice to remember that she actually has talent when you strip down all the folderol. 5 Link to comment

aradia22 February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 I think there's a part of her that still sounds like she's faking it but I think she's managing the classical soprano/belt reasonably well. Thanks for taking it seriously, Gaga. 1 Link to comment
