mtlchick February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 An hour later and...NPH needs to stick with his Tony and Emmy wheelhouses. This is pretty damn painful and I like the guy. I almost want Seth McFarland to show up to save him. Yes I wrote that and I hate myself for it. At least "Show Off Your Boobs" created some buzz. So far I am not down with the NPH. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/33299-the-annual-academy-awards-general-discussion/page/11/#findComment-854838

loriro February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 The How to Train Your Dragon 2 joke was totally fine. The crowd is just NOT having any of it. You are actors, people. ACT like you are enjoying this. My god yes. I don't think it's that NPH's jokes are THAT much better when he hosts the Tonys. I just think the audience members have a sense of humor, fun, and self-deprecation. The Oscars audience members are just... blah. WHY SO SERIOUS???!! If this is how they are gonna be, just screw it and go back to giving them out at a luncheon in the Beverly Hilton hotel. 9 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/33299-the-annual-academy-awards-general-discussion/page/11/#findComment-854855

CPP83 February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 I feel as if Neil isn't having a total train wreck of a night to be entertaining in that "good god I just can't look away" sort of thing, but he's also just not good or funny so it's a very middle of the road performance that's just very very "meh" for me. Ffs show you give these people awards for a reason, that's the whole goddamn purpose of your stupid awful show and you barely give them a whole 30 minutes total over the course of four bloody hours to actually accept them, the rest is filler, really shitty filler. I'll never forget how they played off DDL when he won for best Actor a few years go. WendyCR72 February 23, 2015 Share February 23, 2015 Maureen O'Hara and Hayao Miyazaki finally get some recognition. Sad as I know she has been in many, many films. But I'll always associate Maureen O'Hara with the original Parent Trap. I loved it as a kid and liked that she didn't play some meek '50s/'60s housewife type. I thought that was something considering the era in which the movie was made. 9 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/33299-the-annual-academy-awards-general-discussion/page/11/#findComment-854928
