The issue wasn't him using it in court, but Carly posting online for all the world to see. Ava doesn't give a shit about it but Paul threatened to release Ava's confession tape if the sex video got out.

That would be the only good thing Paul has done.  I'm all about that sex tape getting out.  Then Morgan getting out and being like "Well ours was worse.". Then Jason hearing the recording and saying what we have all been thinking " Who cares about justice for Connie?  Sonny murdered my brother."  And Tracy can forget about baby rabies and proceed with a wrongful death lawsuit. Go Paul!  It's in the Cloud!

Aside from how infuriating that whole business was, it was stupid.  Ava should've pushed him on it.  I mean, the court has already determined that Sonny is unfit to have custody of Avery, aside from limited and court supervised visits.  Ava's sex tape and its potential to have her declared unfit doesn't change that.  If he took her to court with that video, likely Avery would go to foster care. (I'd say she should go back to Michael, but since he's all Corinthosed again, nah.)  She could've stalemated him!

Well there is always Tracy I mean she IS a legal foster parent. Would it not be hilarious if Tracy raised Avery. It would make more sense for her to want to keep Avery safe from HER parents than keeping Teddy from Princess Sobie. Plus how mad Sonny would be for Avery to raised by the Qs. heh!

Well, he was pretty mad the first time.  I wonder if he'd wear a disguise to see Avery or just send Jason in.  I did lol at Tracy caring that Sabrina left.  No you didn't.  No one did.

I am certain Port Charles is the less cool East Coast Twin Peaks.

Now that you mention it, there are similarities.

Straight-shooting lawman: Harry Truman/Mac

Rich asshole: Ben Horne/Nikolas

Bad-ass older broad: Catherine Martell/Tracy

Manic, unfunny "comic relief" woman: Nadine Hurley/Nina

A creepy dwarf who is incomprehensible without subtitles: The Man from Another Place/Sonny

I sat there watching trying to figure out if the audience is supposed to think Sonny is great for sparing Ava's life.

I really liked that she told him to go ahead and kill her, then of course he doesn't. So why have him threaten her in the first place if he won't follow through? I honestly don't know what I'm supposed to think about Sonny right there. I knew he wouldn't kill Ava, but the point of that was to show how serious he was about keeping Avery, and then he completely folds, both on not killing Ava and in keeping her away. I wish Ava had laughed in his face.

SMDH. Ava is the legal and custodial parent of Avery. Why is she having to jump through hoops for damn Sonny and Carly?

STFU Liz. You know who else lied about basically everything these last two years? YOU.

Jordan is horrible at her job. Interviewing two people at the same time in the same interrogation room and deciding she is sole judge and jury of Jason Morgan. And, Jordan, it's common sense to want a lawyer before you are interrogated, duh. Her evidence from the surveillance video that there is a seven minute time gap from when Jason got to Wyndamiere and Sam got there? Sam already told you yesterday they arrived separately, oy.

Um, why is Sam "Sam McCall" today when she's been Sam Morgan for four or five years?

I...have no words at all about what Sonny and Carly had the gall to say about AJ/Michael.

If the show wants the audience to forget Sonny killed AJ while he's railing around about how evil and bad Julian/Ava/whoever is, then they need to show AJ alive. Otherwise, it continues to looks absurd, to say the least.

On the upside, seeing posts like this warm my heart (not from this board):

99.99% of the time I side with Sonny/S&C against Mobster of the Week, but the shit they just spewed was so.fucking.gross. Especially Carly, because she's not Avery's parent. She has no rights to Avery just because she's married to Avery's father. And for the first time I am officially repulsed by Carly and S&C

Carly was awful. Her brother is in the hospital and she has time to hang around and bitch to Ava and have a conversation with Sonny. Not like it was an urgent matter that couldn't wait till after she saw her brother.

I dont know why Jordan was calling Sam "MCcall" when she has been Morgan for years.

Liez didnt seem all that upset about her bestie being missing. Only so she can one up Hayden.

ER was pretty bad in that scene with Dante at the end. Her cry face is not good.

It was written by Scott Sickles, who I am pretty sure has no particularly love of S&C if we're going by the episodes he wrote under RC, but the problem is, even if this was his way of making them look extra hypocritical/delusional/idiots, nowadays, none of the other characters are going to call them out on it, unless they're evil or married to evil Julian themselves, so it just makes it more frustrating for viewers, not less.

Is it any wonder why? This show is all but escorting me to the barge. There's a tiny part of me still shackled to the mainland, but this is the thinnest thread it's ever been. I mean, obviously I hate it because I love Ava. But when this many people who hate Ava have this reaction? You know it's just crap writing.

Haven't watched yesterday still, don't know if I plan on watching today. And although I wasn't an AJ fan, wow. This entire show needs to either be revamped or dumped unceremoniously into the harbor.

His beefs with them don't have to do with Connie/AJ exclusively, though those are his main ones. It won't erase the fact that Sonny killed AJ, but if the show isn't going to retcon that, it needs to stop having Sonny talk about it in any context except that he was gravely, gravely wrong to do it and it will haunt him forever. Which we know he'll never say.

Gross that Ava has to apologize to Carly. Ava was hardly rude. A little snarky, maybe. If anything, it's Sonny's fault for not telling Carly that Ava is taking Avery, as she is legally entitled to do.

Wow, they really have Sonny saying that AJ rewrote history?  The writers must be trolling the audience because that is some Grade A bullshit right there.

The writers need to keep in mind that their audience are not brainless morons.  Just because they say so they can't erase what has already happened and what the audience saw. This is why the soap medium is dying. The writers are killing it.

The hero of our show ladies and gentleman - trash talking the defenseless man he brutally murdered. Doesn't your heart just bleed for poor Carly? "Wah! I can't steal another person's child. Wah! We both chose to have sex we people we don't like and have to pay the consequences." Ugh, the struggle is real for Sonny and Carly....*epic eye roll*

I feel almost sick having to watch a woman grovel to spend time with the daughter she has legal custody of why - because of some stupid sex tape and the show's unwillingness to A) get rid of that stupid tape hanging over Ava's head and B)  Let Sonny have to lose in any real way. If they wanted to end the battle over Avery, they could have used Lucas' ailment to get both sides to come to some "life is too short" kind of deal and truly share custody, but again that's not enough winning for Sonny. We have to see him (and Carly) in control and watch Ava be reprimanded for daring to not speak to Carly in glowing terms.

LOL at Liz acting like she couldn't understand Hayden's perfectly accurate assessment that Liz wanted Hayden to be guilty so Liz could play hero for both Nikolas and Jason. As if Liz hasn't told lies that were far more convoluted. She has some gall berating anyone for lying or for condemning someone for the actions of their father considering who Nikolas' father is.

In other news, the return of Lulu's baby rabies (...about ten seconds after she and Dante got back together) was as unwelcome as the return of Spencer.

Not gonna lie, I would probably not hate the scenes if they hadn't had Dante act like a dipshit for months and then sweep it all under the rug and give us the laziest written scenes imaginable. But they did and not that I hated the scenes, but nothing from Dante feels sincere and I'm just like meh. I muted their alone scenes and just admired Dante's hair.

Bringing back the stavlu embryo is a bad idea for many reasons but mostly unless they bring it back as a teenager who makes trouble for them, who cares? The only slightly interesting angle with it as a child would be Lulu rejecting it, and even then, the story would be about How Lulu Learns to Love Her Embryo. snore. If they think to do homage to the original 1996 story it won't work, because like I said unless it's a teenager, Lulu didn't know about its existence and so kept no secrets from Dante, and Dante, especially on the heels on his last story, can't really afford as a character to act like an asshole about it.

The S&C scenes (which I usually always skip, because I feel like if I'm still watching this show, going on a rant about them all the time is tiresome, but today I paid attention out of curiosity) did not actually make me as ragey as I thought. This bit though made me roll my eyes

Sonny: And when Avery reaches her teenage years and starts rebelling, she'll come to us, because who knows more about rebelling more than us?

Carly: (sniffly) No one.

Those two haven't been outsiders since 2000.

And Carly lamenting how her worst mistakes came back to bite her in the ass. Yeah, this is pretty much the tiniest of ass bites.

Liz was annoying, but she thinks her best friend might be dead, so I'll cut her some slack. Today at least.

Sam's white top is nice.

Oh, yeah, I know.  But Sonny didn't know that, and I think Ava could've stalemated Sonny, before either video/audio was deployed, with the threat of Avery going to foster care (or any non-Sonny care) if Ava was declared unfit, as Sonny has already been declared unfit.

Speaking of unfit, there are no words for that Carly/Sonny A.J. conversation. That's some infinite self-delusion, right there.  And, what's this?  No mention of Sonny murdering A.J. in cold blood? Quelle surprise.

I see Kiki is back to the MC, hard at work., her style.  Still liking Kiki/Dillon.  But she should never wear her hair that way again.

It's really nice to have occasional outdoors scenes, but I'm really getting tired of that bench and that must be the scruffiest park in PC.

Oh, Diane, if not for the money, what the friggity-frack made Jason your favorite client?  Because it could not have been his scintillating personality.

Spencer certainly was eager to put Nik in the ground. If I weren't pretty sure that Nik faked his own death, I'd be thinking Spencer killed him.

Jordan is awfully smug for someone who's completely incompetent. I'm looking forward to tomorrow though when Liz tries to convince her that Hayden killed Nik based on the rock solid evidence that Liz hates Hayden. I think it will be a lot like the conversation that goldfish would have if they suddenly learned to talk.

Yes Jordan was ludicrous in her tight flashy ballgown and overworked Grecian locks (Medusa, anyone?) toting a laptop and slapping it on the table in front of her multiple witnesses. She should have taken them separately, and why didn't she have a police stenographer or a tape recorder operating? These were the first crucial statements of prime witnesses. Too bad that Diane had an opportunity to say she was Sam's counsel too. If Jordan had taken them one-by-one, Sam would not have had Diane's presence and protection.

And even today, at the Police Station, Jordan's dress was way too tight and way too low-cut.  Totally inappropriate for her position as Police Commissioner and for that workplace.  What is wrong with whoever the hell makes those decisions behind the scenes?  Sort of like when they have the women of Port Charles parading around in sleeveless mini dresses and spike heels, carrying their coats over their arms in February through the NY snow and ice.  Drives me nuts.

Well, as bad as that Sonny/Carly scene was, it would be completely out of character of them to think they had fucked over AJ and ruined his life. They will never face the fact that AJ's version of the story is the story. I mean, I don't think that Ava was particularly rude to Carly today. Sonny and Ava don't have to consult with her about what they do with Avery, she was stating a fact. She didn't insult her or call her names. The only thing that was "offended" was CarSon sense that the world spin around them.

It's just such an injustice that the poor, put-open holy hitman and his ride-or-die chick had to be {gasp} questioned about this.  I mean, it's not like they were *right there* when whatever happened happened.  It's not like Jason has a history of violence or bad blood with Nikolas.  Such a travesty that he's being railroaded this way.  And, gee, now he wants to go on the run, presumably with Sam.  What about "my sons" (said thru clenched mouth)?  God, they're both so insufferable.

And I'm still rolling my eyes that Carly was so upset about Lucas and Bobbi that she couldn't be bothered to get to the hospital sooner.  Not when there's absurd apologies from Ava to be had and hypocritical comments about how she and Sonny do things 'for all the right reasons."

Dillon and Kiki continue to be adorable.  It's gonna blow if he becomes a speed bump on the Kiki/Morgan highway to hell.

Yes!   So much this.   Like, fuck your feelings Carly and Sonny.  Also, Orange Goblin, Carly didn't keep Michael from AJ "for Michael's own good".  She did it because she was banging Dr Tony Jones and wanted to pass him off as HIS kid, you know her mom's husband, Lucas's dad.  The family she destroyed.   She then passed him off as Jason's.  Qubert, you didn't pop into his life till he was a red haired little shit and it was all meat hooks and death threats.  So whatevs.  AJ was the victim, just like when you shot him.  Because when you kill people they are the victim.  So, am I surprised that Carly didn't rush over to see the brother she claims to love?  Nah.  But she'll blame Ava.  It's not Ava's fault nor AJ's.  Instead of slathering on Aveeno and banging The Great Pumpkin, how about checking your voicemail since Lucas no showed his wedding?  Gah.  I hope AJ is alive and sues your ass.  And I hate that Ava has been neutered to bow down to Teh Orange One.  Ugh.
