Aside from that, it's a messed up move.  There was NO hint toward him quitting.

I think there were some hints that he was done.  I think the difference with him is that he probably could have played another year.  Unlike Drew Brees and Ben, who were pretty broken in their last years.

I'm guessing he informed the Bucs that he was done and that's where the leak came from. The official press conference will either be next week, a rather quiet week before the Super Bowl or after the SB.

TB hasn't made an official statement but apparently enough credible sources close to him said he was, so all of the news organizations ran with it.  His agent is saying the nothing is happening until TB says it himself, so hold your horses.

If I had to guess I'd say he was planning to make the announcement sometime next week - that would prevent the news from overshadowing the championship games but leave enough time for everyone to react and get over it prior to the Super Bowl.  So much for that.  And it's going to be bizarre if he says he's coming back next year.  That will result in a whole bunch of people getting on their high horse and spouting off about the media jumping the gun.

Well, they have been speculating on his retirement for a while now. We've heard it by a lot of announcers during the games, as in "will this be his last time to play on this field....." and on and on and on!!

Yes!  Someone did this!

So, throughout this week, I was thinking about (running) a very difficult-to-impossible trivia contest related to Tom Brady.  It was great, it was perfect.  The only thing is do I have someone list all 20 players or certain NFL players still in the league.

What am I talking about?  Well, it's simple!

Here are the 20 people drafted 199th overall in the NFL Drafts that followed the 2000 one, including some guy named Adrian Peterson

Man, I did a search hoping someone had done this, and I guess I'm glad they did, as it would've taken 24 hours to complete it

Is Brady petty enough to play one more year than he intended just to make ESPN look bad?

He's been saying that he'd play until he's 45, and that doesn't happen until August, so I figured he'd try for one more season.  If he retires, so be it.  As a Buc's fan we enjoyed it while it lasted.  I hope we don't go backwards and become the SOBs again (Same Old Bucs).  Hopefully they can rebuild and have success.

I know there are a lot of people who absolutely hate the guy, but for us and many fans, it's more about the team.  Yeah, he was great to have, but we want our team to be okay, no matter who the QB is.

I was just referring to the post (not yours) that called him an "unwashed Covid ignoramus" and how I think it's offensive to label people as such just because they chose not to get vaccinated.

I'm the one who said it.  I called him unwashed because despite being a multimillionaire, he appears to be in dire need of basic grooming, and on the subject of a deadly yet mostly preventable disease, yes, indeedy, he is an ignoramus.

As far as Rodgers goes he is a covid ignoramus for reasons beyond not getting vaccinated.  When Joe Rogan is your scientific source, you try to lie about being vaccinated based on your own non validated medical opinions and you refuse to listen to actual scientific evidence, it's accurate.

Unwashed....just look at him.

I figured it's his hair products.  Just look at a lot of the young movie stars walking around with that greasy look.  At least they say it's their product!!  I guess the "grunge" look is still in.  FWIW, I hate greasy hair because I see that with patients who sit in my dental chair.  It's really gross when you're up close and personal with it.

I can't speak to any of that.  I don't listen to Joe Rogan, so I have no clue as to what he's putting out there.  No matter what Aaron's reason is, it's still his choice.  Maybe he did talk to his doctor about it.  Who knows?  I'll just leave it at that.  I'm much more concerned with what's happening to my Bucs!!  We knew Brady wouldn't be there very long, but I was really hoping for one more year with him and Gronk.  I'm sure Gronk will go if he does.   Arrgh!  Back to the drawing board.  At least we have Coach Arians.  He's better than some of them we've had.

I’m going to go with Cincinnati for the win.  Maybe it’s a petty hedge, and I’m likely to be wrong, but I’m going with the Bengals for the win since the events that occurred the week before benefit Cincy more than KC.

There may be nothing the Bengals can do to prevent another 9-sack disaster.  They’ll have the offseason to fix their line (something they should’ve started in 2019-2020).  Burrow is a no-excuses kinda guy.  Kansas City is a better team than Tennessee.  However, Cincy did beat them.  It was a home game but the time and way they won is no joke.  The Chiefs finished a late game in OT, and that spots Cincinnati a day and then some.

Probably an easy pick that I’m zagging on while everyone’s zigging.  Of course, I picked the Chiefs and Bengals to each win both of their first two games, and I was correct.  So I may or may not be right, but it’s not like ignoring them as a contender sorta like I did with the 49ers.

Speaking of San Francisco, I’m picking them to win.  Unlike the AFC Title Game, I have more company here.  The Niners have had LA’s number for quite a long time.  That even includes that awful year in 2020, but it also includes a down year for the Rams in 2019 when the SF went 13-3 and was the top seed on the way to the Super Bowl.  This year, the Niners blew out Los Angeles, and when the opposite was about to occur, SF rallied and won.  That was the last time I picked San Francisco to win the game.  As for Los Angles, I don’t think I’ve picked them to win a game either.  Definitely a reversal of the AFC side, but it goes into the regular season where the only time I picked them to win, they lost (save for Week 18).  That’s for the most part.

I guess I’m betting on Stafford to turn into the turnover version of him.  Unless that happens, Los Angeles will have a shot.  As mentioned, the D line for SF is top notch to the Rams O Line.  However, there are some legit people on the defense for the Rams.  If they can cause misery for the Niners offense, the Rams are going to be the first team to play at home for both their conference game & the Super Bowl, with a chance to win their second title, and second in as many cities

What the hell is going on during the Star-Spangled Banner in Kansas City?  Why is there so much noise?  I’m so confused.

I think people in the stands were singing along.

I better not see any PI calls on the Chiefs receivers today since they aren’t calling any on the Bengals receivers. The Chiefs defenders are getting away with a lot of jersey grabbing already so this is going to be a long game.

Mahomes is probably a lovely person, but I always think he should be playing a seedy pimp in an episode of Starsky and Hutch.

Absolutely not a Bengals fan here, and I need to watch Mike Brown suffer. I currently have the sound off to avoid Romo’s rage inducing voice. Why don’t they hire announcers with better voices?

I can’t manage to work up a feeling about Rams/Niners. Matt Stafford gets my pity for all those sad years in Detroit. Jimmy G is swarthy cute.

Jimmy has a more awesome last name.  Matt pretty much would be a future lock for Canton if there was a button to turn him into an Ultra version of him.  Maybe we get that next season since it should be his second year with the team

Sorry, twoods.  Though they probably had to call that

Is it just me or is Romo extra shouty and nonsensical today?

He actually sang one of comments.  Sang.  I had to change the channel.

Ditto.  Moved to a swap between The Weather Channel and an encore presentation of Niners/Rams Week 18

Right? I did have to begrudgingly give him credit for the Jurassic Park reference, though.

No matter what happens I’m very impressed with the Bengals’ resilience. They could have given up but the defense has stepped up and made this a game.
And oh my goodness I jinxed them. Shutting up now.

Romo always seems over-caffeinated, stumbling on his words, and yelling out comments.  I think he must get paid by the word so he has to get as many out as he can as fast as he can.  I have to give a lot of credit to Jim Nantz for never telling him to SHUT UP for a minute.  I would crack after about 2 minutes in the booth with Romo.

Maybe the NFL should trade Collinsworth and Romo!

Well I was wrong saying that Mahomes wouldn't touch the ball again before OT started, but right in terms of what might have played out if Burrow controlled things.

Cincy remains perfect in conference title games

Oh my god Romo is so dumb.  NO CHALLENGES IN OVERTIME DOOFUS.

I guess he didn't listen to the refs explain the overtime rules. (I typed "refs" and my phone kindly changed it to "refreshments").
