Sage47 April 28, 2015 Share April 28, 2015 Good point Duke2801. They must have been living together as Kathryn was desperate to leave the plantation. If they really did that reflects even more poorly on Thomas, that he was always going off to events without Kathryn-I don't care how long it took her to get ready. Remember the dinner where he announced his run for Senate? He showed up there after her as well. Odd. It just shows how shaky their relationship was at that time. Poor Kensie. Her parents weren't even together a few months before they were completely derailed. 1 Link to comment
cooksdelight April 28, 2015 Author Share April 28, 2015 I believe Thomas and K might be living apart now, but not when filming was taking place. Otherwise, why would she have been pitching such a fit for them to move from the island to downtown? As for the eating out of boxes... it looks like they just got takeout? I mean, we have plenty of food here but still order out at least once/week. Check the Spoilers and Speculation thread if you want to delve into this more. :) Remember the dinner where he announced his run for Senate? He showed up there after her as well. Odd. As well as the housewarming party at Shep & Whitney's. He came solo, with the same driver in the same black Lincoln Town Car. Link to comment
Chicklet April 28, 2015 Share April 28, 2015 Which person was so delusional to say that they would "fall back in love after the election", Trav or Kathryn? They were never in love, they hooked up and had an oops. Well Kensie was an on purpose for Kathryn and Trav couldn't be bothered to use protection so yea she was an on purpose for both parties. Dumbasses. Whitney is as terrible a producer as most other things he does. He paints himself as juvenile and clueless, I really don't get it. If I was producing this I'd make myself look great. Oh god drunk Landon who is pretending after the fact that she was sober, people who argue at a public event, dogs at a ball, Whitney in general. This is all kinds of sad but I still love this show. 3 Link to comment
hoosier80 April 28, 2015 Share April 28, 2015 (edited) Because of all of their Bravo's lies, (this is supposed to be reality) I only filmed 2 months on season 2 even though there were 3 months of filming. I've let a lot slide. Going forward I hereby refuse to do anymore interviews or appear again on the Andy Cohen show." How would he know how Bravo was editing as they were filming? If they filmed every time he went home and Kathryn wasn't ready, then she could have been getting the "bad edit". Now, he's just pissed on how he came across. I guess he just did this show so voters would fall in love with him and vote for him, forgetting all about that pesky conviction and time served. He really thinks he can talk or schmooze his way out of anything. And the whole, we can fall in love again after the election. Give me a break. I also find him annoying in saying that it's Kathryn's job to take care of the baby. I get it that you're busy with your campaign to nowhere, but what if Kathryn had a career or was in school - where she was just as busy as you outside of the home? I bet he'd still think it was her "job" to be primary caregiver for the baby. Kathryn had a totally different idea of how this would play out, certainly not with her being home 24/7. I think she's so moody because she knows she made a terrible move in hooking up with Thomas, as much as she loves her daughter. As a side note, I thought she looked very nice at that stupid ball. A huge improvement how she looked at other events. Edited April 28, 2015 by hoosier80 3 Link to comment
featherhead April 29, 2015 Share April 29, 2015 So Craig is dismissed from his job at the law firm for failing to appear at the office during regular work hours. For Cereals April 29, 2015 Share April 29, 2015 Patricia needs to stop wearing her hair pulled back. It does not give the illusion of younger, more taught skin, it makes her look like Gary Oldman as old Dracula. I feel better that Cameran brought at least one token person of color....I too just get a little more than uncomfortable when they start talking about the heyday of the South and their history...skipping over the not so pleasant parts, or just going about their lives in the lap of luxury as it's always been, oblivious to the struggles of others. But what a nice ball! Must suppress just like all those Derbys past. Mint juleps anyone? 2 Link to comment
iloveit April 29, 2015 Share April 29, 2015 Eating out of boxes in their kitchen. If you're living there full-time, you've got food handy. Not necessarily - does Kathryn really seem like the type to do grocery shopping on a regular basis? I loved that they were eating ribs. LOL!!! The whole Kathryn is being a bad partner to Thomas while he is campaigning is confusing because they don’t really show any evidence to that on the show (with I guess the exception of Kathryn’s ill-advised outfit at the BBQ). It is certainly believable that she isn’t being supportive but we don’t really see that so it is hard to sympathize with Thomas. He just comes off as a jerk. Amy does not seem to be a good campaign manager. If she wanted to pacify Kathryn, she should give her some low-level, non-visible task to take care of so that Kathryn feels involved and connected but is actually staying out of their way. DAMN THAT’S COLD if that is how Craig really got fired. This is reality tv so I’ll assume that is not how things really went down but if it was a total set-up, Craig’s acting was pretty good because he seemed embarrassed and upset. Wtf is up with Jennifer? Kathryn is friends with her now? Is Kathryn really that desperate for friends? I totally think Jennifer and TRav hooked up while Kathryn was pregnant. More importantly - someone needs to help her with clothes and make up. Loved Cameran’s “I’m not a notable person.” I think it’s nice that Landon kind of defends and relates to Kathryn. Her drunken convo with Kathryn and Thomas was sooo awkward and great tv! Shep’s date Jackie is gorgeous and seems fun!! 1 Link to comment
imjagain April 29, 2015 Share April 29, 2015 (edited) I don't know if he's making this up to save face (what with all the various reports that they are apart, they fight when they are together, etc), so take it with a grain of salt. From Thomas' Facebook page regarding last night's episode. "The story line about me making Kathryn wait to take her to the Founders Ball in tonight's episode is a complete lie. I went to pick her up quite punctually and she was nowhere near ready. The second time I went to pick her up she still was not ready and I waited at least 30 minutes. Then her makeup artist wanted to take pictures. Kathryn and I both said we were late. At this, the hairdresser, collapsed on the floor whining that she couldn't take pics of her hard work. In all fairness, she did do a good job. Because of all of their Bravo's lies, (this is supposed to be reality) I only filmed 2 months on season 2 even though there were 3 months of filming. I've let a lot slide. Going forward I hereby refuse to do anymore interviews or appear again on the Andy Cohen show." So am I to assume Thomas will not be back if there is another season? Didn't Thomas go off on Andy during WWHL? I seem to remember he was pissed and very drunk but can't remember why? I like Cooper he is good for a reality show, I just wish he had not insisted that everyone come with someone of the opposite sex. So if 2 men are married would they really not be able to just attend together? Landon voice OUCH! Katherine is miserable all the time, yes Thomas is horrible but lord have mercy girl. She walks in the room and her gloomy attitude radiates off her. I would avoid her, just to save my good time. Edited April 29, 2015 by imjagain 5 Link to comment

He just looked so, as you say, as an uncouth frat boy. Yep, I noticed that too. Yet another reason to love Shep - - at least his momma raised him right. She is super cute, BTW. I'm not surprised Craig was fired, I'm surprised it took this long. I work in the legal field and his attendance (or lack thereof) as well as his partying lifestyle would never be tolerated. I doubt he did "clerical" work. He might have done law clerk work - - legal research, drafting letters and motions. Things like that. You can do that from home but you had still better be in the office more than at home. Shep looks like the most awesome date ever. He just has fun no matter what. I flove him. He and Jackie were cute together. Kathryn's dress was majorly gorg but I wish she would realize that she can wear her hair down for formal events too. See Cameran. Kathryn and Thomas at the ball were uncomfortable to watch. He was clearly intoxicated which is apparently okay to showcase to your voters (while it's not okay to showcase your baby's momma.) Between that, their icy cold body language and Thomas' propensity to act like a tween girl on Facebook and Twitter, they are doomed. Jennifer reminds me of Jennifer Tilly, although not as talented. I did notice that when Kathryn flounced away from the table at the ball, Whitney stood up like a gentleman. (I don't need anyone to do this for me, but I do notice it when it happens.) Whoever was next to him - it was Shep or Thomas - did not. I did not realize until part of the way in to the episode that the Founders Ball is a brand-new thing. Thomas must be hard to be around especially because he puts her at such a low priority in his life, and she knows that. She is not his first priority, has to hurt. She would be so hard to be around the sour look on her face the nonstop complaints. I don't even think him being around more would make her happy. She wants something I don't think he wants to give. Thomas is old enough to know that a marriage will not change things that much for them. She needs to figure out what she really wants and move on. The 2 of them staying together will end in tons of resentment from her down the road. She is still young she can learn to Co parent with Thomas and still have a life with happiness. pasdetrois April 30, 2015 Share April 30, 2015 (edited) I really hated watching and listening to her on the last episode. It was so unpleasant. I understand how disappointed she is. But she's placing responsibility for her happiness with a guy who's only going to disappoint her. She's avoiding the realization that her plan didn't work. Plus she's playing to her TV audience. I don't think either of them is madly in love - they tried to use each other and place unrealistic demands on each other. I keep wondering whether Thomas actually believed he had a chance in the election. If not, then what was his purpose for the sham campaign? (I know others have speculated in this forum.) Somehow I think he began to believe in his chances, and I can see him wandering around the plantation now in a drunken petulant funk. Edited April 30, 2015 by pasdetrois 8 Link to comment

wovenloaf April 30, 2015 Share April 30, 2015 I really hated watching and listening to her on the last episode. It was so unpleasant. I agree. The way Kathryn was acting at the Founder's Ball was seriously unpleasant to watch. I get that she was mad and that Thomas is probably terrible to deal with, but the moping and pouting in public, then trying to pick a fight (excuse me - "talk about their problems") in a corner of the room in the middle of the ball, was so obnoxious. Then when drunky Landon was babbling at them, Kathryn's talking head is all like "I don't see why we have to act happy when we aren't." Um. You don't. But the answer is to break up or solve it in private, not to paste your misery all over your face and scowl at innocent bystanders. I hate the attitude that in order to be "real" (or something...I don't really know) you have to air your dirty laundry to everyone around you. It's also awfully self-important - get over yourself people! 5 Link to comment

SweetCaroline April 30, 2015 Share April 30, 2015 Yes, like "Carolina Day" it seems to have been created mostly for the show. It's clearly not an old money/old family event. Carolina Day is actually real....it's been observed since 1777 and commemorates a Revolutionary War battle on Sullivans Island. I don't recall, at least in my lifetime, anyone ever celebrating with a formal dinner or ball though. It's usually more like reenactments and educational programs. The Founders Day thing? Yeah, total load of shite.....as was that ridiculous "ball". Cooper appeared to have taken a mish-mash of what he thinks are southern traditions and tossed them into the cauldron. Not to be a complete snot (wait, yes I do) but technically the Charleston Social Season doesn't start until after Christmas....that is when most balls and dinners would have happened. balshureen April 30, 2015 Share April 30, 2015 I think Kathryn actually does love Thomas, and is genuinely hurt by the way he treats her, so much so that she can't even put on a front anymore in public that everything is OK. He knew she was pissed off and should have addressed it rather than ignore what she was trying to say to him at the Founder's Ball. I definitely think she is immature, and should put on a happy face in public, especially given Thomas's political ambitions. I just think she's out of her gold-digging depths with Thomas. She is naive and doesn't seem to have the wherewithal or emotional resolve to pretend to be someone she isn't in order to be what Thomas needs her to be. The other problem she has is that Thomas isn't interested in providing what she needs from him. They seem to bring out the worst in each other, and they are both starting to realize it isn't going to work. I am curious to see what happens in the rest of the interview with Craig. He had this douche bag smirk on his face when his boss said that he was talking to him like he was his son, and his face just dropped when he said he was going to terminate him. It seemed a very genuine reaction. 4 Link to comment
