That house is in Walterboro, SC....it's about an hour outside Charleston. An equivalent house on the peninsula would be WAY, WAY over 1 million. Walterboro has some very nice historical homes but it's not a great place. But I thought Cameron said she only works with buyers. I'm trying to figure out exactly why Landon is so damned clueless. A quick Google of "business pitch" would have given her a starting point. Likewise with Craig....Google is your friend. You know what else I thought was interesting? Kathryn was proclaiming to be angry because Elizabeth hadn't been out to see Kensie but in the car on the way to the polo match she says to Jennifer "Oh, you haven't seen her in a while", referring to Kensie, and Jennifer replies "Not since her birthday party at Elizabeth's". So it only matters because it was Elizabeth? Or because Jennifer is Kathryn's yes man?

Kathryn's mom and dad both work (or worked, not sure if one or both are retired now) for Santee-Cooper, which is the local electric co-op in Berkeley County. Her granddaddy, Senator Dennis, was instrumental in establishing the co-op to bring electricity to remote areas of Berkeley. Granddaddy's father passed away when he was 15-16 and his mom was a teacher. And just so you know.....I didn't have to look it up and I'm not a crazy stalker....I'm a local and live in the Charleston area :-D And if y'all want to add more to this star-crossed lovers tale....it was well known that Rembert Dennis and Arthur Ravenel were not particularly fond of each other.

Yes, the entire area has grown so much in the past few years.....they even got a Chick-fil-a out there in Moncks Corner now! ;-) But....the land is owned by Grandma Dennis, not Kathryn's parents....they have a 5-10 acre spot on the property where they built their house about 20 years ago (yes, the brick house shown on the show)...as do a couple other family members. Her grandparents bought the place back in the 70's, renovated the original house, and had it listed on the National Register of Historic Places.....this may affect development. But I don't know that the family necessarily wants to develop it. Lots of it is used for timber now. She's so worried about having a home....I'm sure she could talk Grandma out of a couple of acres to build on. But I know that's not what she wants...she wants to be downtown...or as close as humanly possible.

Shep and I have the same kitchen appliances. Just a random observation.

Brookland is WAY out in the boondocks, unlike Summerville which is more suburban and similar to Mount Pleasant in it's demographics and retail make up. It's a very quick drive if traffic is moving....unlike Brookland which is about an hour from downtown and is two lane roads much of the way. And she cracked me up talking about living at her parents and "being able to get what she needs out there". Please.....there's a Walmart 5 miles from her momma and daddy's house.

So glad my guilty pleasure is back on! There are quite a few men here in Charleston who cultivate that bow-tie and bright pants looks....Craig's look is slightly more flamboyant than others, though. You'll see it a lot at garden parties and especially at horse races. Kathryn consistently shoots herself in the foot. She's desperate to be a part of the downtown socialites and has been going about it wrong since day one. Her first mistake was trying to bang her way up the social ladder. She doesn't seem to realize that it's the WOMEN who control the social scene here....she should have cultivated friendships there first and she would have eventually been introduced to some moneyed fellow who'd wife her up. She could have caught her one of these rich out-of-towners who buys a big house on the Battery and added her name to his money and, voila!...she's dressing in caftans and pushing doggy strollers down King Street. As it stands, she has no one to blame but herself and her actions for being ostracized. I wonder how close she'll remain with Jennifer when she has her baby. I don't actually recall Thomas saying "family day". He said "come to the polo match and bring Kensie and we'll go to the beach the following day". I don't understand why he doesn't buy her a house in Summerville or Moncks Corner....she could get a house comparable in size and amenities as Mount Pleasant for 1/2 to 3/4 of the price she'd pay there. Then she wouldn't have to worry about her children thinking mommy's home is a slum. And Summerville is 20 minutes to downtown and her parents home. I've got one word for Landon: Prozac. Or maybe: Job.

With the weird grimaces and facial movements, the inability to sit in one place and odd speech intonations I definitely think Kathryn was on a little something more than champagne. Her behavior was so disjointed. And the "I won't be ignored line"! Thomas better keep an eye on those polo ponies before Kathryn goes all bunny-boiler on them. And this might just be me but I think Kathryn should have come back to Charleston when Thomas asked. Yes, y'all have a drama filled and tumultous relationship but if you truly care about someone when they call and ask for your emotional support in the aftermath of something that is devastating for them I think you should be there. I can't see myself skipping out on a loved one in need for salsa and chips lessons with people who can barely tolerate me. The Facebook break-up was ridiculous.....Thomas is so eloquent, I can't believe he can't seem to communicate with her better. Seriously Landon, STFU. I cannot reiterate this enough. Shut. Your. Pie. Hole. Drunk Cameron is the best. I'd party with her, Shep and JD anyday.

Hilarious. I always knew she was high I just figured her drug of choice was of the prescription variety. She sounds like she's Xanaxed to the gills most of the time. Maybe with a side of amphetamines to keep her slim. I know a doc over in Mt. P. that passes them out like candy.

This entire episode just made me cringe from beginning to end. So much horrible. I was even put off by Shep....and I have a lot of Shep love! The bartender was my favorite. And Jekyll itself because my mommy is about 30 minutes from there. We usually went to Kiawah or Tybee when I was growing up though.

Can't wait to hear more about your trip down here! I hate that you were disappointed with Shep's place...it was pretty good when I was in there a few months ago. I had the Down Low Country dog and it was tasty! But I'm a sucker for anything with pimiento cheese on it. Also weird about the beer bottles. They serve...or at least used to serve...lots of local and craft beers and ales in bottles and cans...all of the regular 12 oz variety. It's been a while since I was there though and anything can happen in a few months time. And Amy? How awesome! You should have fabulous dirt now cause you got it first hand...all my gossip is third-hand! Dish on Kathryn and Thomas!! Who is the craziest?

Honestly starting to question whether they actually slept together. Maybe Kathryn got black-out drunk, passed out at Whitney's and he decided to use it as another opportunity to prove his heterosexuality.

Lots of those converted carriage houses are used for vacation or student rentals so they're not usually expensively renovated or decorated. There are a couple of fabulous ones downtown though.

You are correct...the humidity here is stupid and will give you big, frizzy hair. Ponytails and smoothing balm are de rigueur in the summer. Honestly, Kathryn is an oddball in the style department around here. Most girls, from ages 16-45, have more of the Cameron look....longer straight hair, Lilly P and Jack Rogers, very sorority.
