Really at Tyler instructing Cate on how much weight she's supposed to gain?! Gross. And I'm so happy they showed Nick! Glad to see that he's doing well. Those cards that Butch had someone draw were really nice. I loved his shout out to Farrah and her porn. LMAO

I feel bad for Bentley. Ryan is so checked out. His own parents are fed up with it. They've been awfully patient with him.

I just don't know what to say about Amber. She puts on such a big act for Gary that she never wants to get back together, but she spent the whole episode pitying herself for not getting back together with him. I just don't like her very much.

Tyler is such a douche.  I enjoyed watching him be disappointed finding out it was a girl.

ETA: It was nice to see Butch again.  As much as Tyler doesn't want to be like him, he's getting more and more like him.  All he needs is that glorious mullet.

Amber doesn't want him but doesn't want any body else to have him.

Gary and his mother should have encouraged Leah to speak to Amber, I didn't like that only the uncle spoke to her.  At least have her call later.

I feel Gary gets pleasure from pushing Amber's buttons, he didn't have to mention that they were having a family dinner, he knows that "family" is a sore point with her.  We're getting ready to eat dinner would suffice.

Also, Leah was eating candy, right before dinner.  Great Dad!

So true. Unfortunately for her, it's just not gonna happen. If you shut him down, he'll move on. Although I do agree that he deliberately flirts with Amber. His gf probably isn't too happy as she sees this play out on national television.

Posting your pregnancy announcement on Instagram then counting the likes should disqualify you from having children. Seriously, do they have jobs, or do they just sit around all day, Googling themselves?

Speaking of jobs, why doesn't Amber get one, or do something that doesn't require sitting around on the couch all day? Her and Gary will never change.

Wow, Ryan is a total ass. I would bet money that Maci fed Bentley the line about her house being his real home, but shouldn't that bother Ryan? Shouldn't he be saying that he has two homes? He basically said he doesn't care. It's nice to see that his parents are fed up. Interesting that his dad basically said that Ryan only talks to him when the cameras are around.

Is Dawn a unicorn or something? Does she just manifest each time there's a baby from Tyler and Catelyn?

Amber is so damn miserable. She's so focused on not liking Gary's new girlfriend that she can't even be in the moment for Leah's first day of school. She's headed towards Farrah territory by reimagining a relationship that was toxic into some Disney fairytale.

Shout out to Butch for calling Tyler out on his bullshit. Butch knows the only reason Tyler wants him to come right to his house after he's released is because it would make for good tv.

I guess when you have MTV money to burn through you shop at an Art Supply store instead of Target for your kid's school supplies.  Seems a waste.

The way Bentley was looking at Ryan when he showed up for his five minute meal with the family gave me goosebumps.

Aw man.. my DVR screwed up and only got the last half of this show - which is probably a good thing anyway, but I was bummed I missed some of it. I think Tyler was always a jerk but somewhere along the line the producers or editors decided to run with it. I seriously dislike him more with every episode.

I feel bad for Amber. I think Gary messes with her as often as possible. I feel really bad because every time I see him I feel like Gary's acting like he's some hot prize and I'm always trying to figure out why he's so cocky. I guess maybe having TV cams and multiple women after you can do that to you? Seems like he's done a good job with Leah though.

Maci and even Bentley both seem to me like they're playing to the cameras from the little bit I saw of them. Sometimes I like the breaking down of the "fourth wall" with production, and sometimes I'm not a fan, I guess?

I admit that I teared up when Maci was crying after dropping Bentley off at school. I did the same thing. Its like once they start Kindergarten they don't fully belong to you anymore.

Its just too bad she didn't have anybody to share the moment with. Ryan is an ass.

Speaking of asses, Amber hasn't changed. She knew Gary had a girlfriend and that the girlfriend would be at the school but she can't swallow her wants and feelings for 5 minutes to take her daughter into her first day of school.

Nice of her to call hee daughter a brat right in to her ear on the phone. Leah was playing! Of course she didn't want to stop and talk on the phone. Most kids wouldn't.

Ass.

While I do think Ryan was an ass at the restaurant scene. Which may, or may not, be due to editing or dislike of the cameras.  His not going to Bentley's first day of school is not something to make into a huge deal, especially for Bentley. I did not get to go to my son's first day of school, or his Kindergarten 'graduation'. Neither do the vast majority of working parents. Sorry, but Maci is making a mountain out of a molehill, AGAIN.

Now for the important stuff...We got a Butch scene, and it was hilarious.

I did tear up a bit at Maci's drop off too. I wish it didn't seem so staged.

Kindergarten "graduations" are sort of a pet peeve of mine anyway so I think I'm not terribly sympathetic when it comes to those but I DO feel bad for kids who feel it's important and then have a parent not show up. It's about the kid's feelings, not the parent's, in my mind.  I was annoyed as hell the first time I got invited to a Kindergarten graduation that included a gift registry and expected gift amount, so I pretty much skip them now, but if it were my own kid I'd be there if I possibly could (sorta the school play concept, you know it's not gonna be Broadway but if it matters to your kid...).

Farrah is a tough one for me. I don't even have a problem with her porn thing in theory, but she just seems so off the wall. I can't even understand her half the time - and then her family starts talking and they are way worse.

It reminded me of the Golden Girls episode that ends with Dorothy wistful and nostalgic for the despicable Stan, of all people.

So much of what I feel has already been said.  I just wanted to chime in on some things.

Maybe it is Bentley's age or that I like Bentley but I find Maci interesting for that reason alone.  I can relate to some of what she feels because my son is pretty close in age so it makes it interesting for me.  Like in last episode where people were calling him out on his behavior and others chimed in and said that is what a 6 year old does--I agree--they can act bratty while they test boundaries even when they are good kids otherwise.  In this episode I related to him starting to really notice and feel how others act around him, and though I know Ryan hates the cameras I do get the feeling there is something behind all of this discussion with Maci, Ryan's mom and dad, and now even Bentley about him not being really in Bentley's life.  He seems so detached, and Bentley loves his dad, but he says those things to him because he wants him to know that he notices him not really being fully there for him. I also felt for Maci on the kindergarten thing as I know even I got a little teared up about my son going this year, and I didn't think I would.

C & T--I agree they are really showing how much of a jerk he is.  He doesn't really want to marry her, he really only wants a boy, he makes comments about her weight, the list goes on and on.  She deserves better.  April has been kind of fun this season, and it has been great to see how well Nick has done despite his troubled upbringing.  He seems like such a good kid.

Amber--I agree on all of the discussion about Gary.  I also don't get why she is just sitting around....go do something productive.  They have to tell them that in rehab--I can't imagine they say it is best to sit around by yourself bored out of your mind.  Gary thinks he is quite the stud, and he is just rather gross in my opinion.  I have to say I thought Amber looked great on the aftershow episode. So maybe that is a good sign?

Farrah--she is a mess.  So, now she is the down to earth one in her opinion?  I don't even know what to say.  And what friends does she have that she found that are to the level she described?  No clue.

OMG I hate them all. Its so unreasonable but they all irritate the hell out of me.  Sorry Maci, acting all high and mighty that she's calling off work for Bentley's first day of kindergarten and it would never be an option for her to miss it. I will defend Ryan here. He works out of town!! He can't just randomly not show up because he wants to watch his son walk into a new school (something that will take ten minutes) He would possibly get fired for missing work. Most people have responsibilities. My kids are in daycare and if they have a Christmas pageant in the middle of the day or a parents lunch I can't take time off work for it. I miss enough work with sick kids and doctor appointments.

Gary needs smacked in the head lol. He's so gross! Flirting with Amber. I feel terrible for his girlfriend. She should dump  his disgusting ass. That was totally disrespectful. He doesn't even want to be with Amber he just wants attention from every female. I loved Gary's friend though!! "If you wouldn't do it to a random old man in a parking lot you shouldn't be doing it to Amber" best line of the night!

I hope Tyler gets hit by a bus. He is such an ass. He was so excited about having a boy and you tell he was so disappointed he's having a girl. Tyler looks so slimy. He's abusive to Catelynn and so over her. He only hangs around for the fame.  I don't like to make fun of people for how much weight they gain but my lord, at four months (with both kids) I may have gained six pounds. And she's gained twenty already! When she was already overweight before she got pregnant.  That's very unhealthy. I'm not saying she should starve herself but exercise and eat healthy for the baby's sake. Hell she's probably still smoking, what am I talking about.

Amber needs to grow the f*ck up.  There is NO reason she couldn't walk her daughter into the school because Kristina was there. I'm glad Leah wanted Amber want to meet her. I don't think for one second Leah told Gary she wanted him and Mommy to get back together. She probably doesn't even remember her parents being together and she seems to like Kristina. Amber hasn't changed at all. The second something doesn't go her way she hulks out and flies off the handle and can't control herself.

The thing is... kids don't get it... there are times when they want to talk to their parents but when they are occupied with other "fun" things there is no way you will get them to do it. Gary should have told Amber that it wasn't a good time and that he would have Leah call her back later when she wasn't distracted.  We went through that with my nephews.  Their mom would call every.single.night.  When we were there it was not abnormal for them to say "I don't want to talk to her right now" and run off and play, no matter how hard my brother tried to get them on the phone. Half the time he would give it to my youngest nephew who couldn't even talk yet and their mom would just talk to no one - oh and then my nephew would start pushing buttons cause that's what a kid does with a phone and hang up on her.

A kid at that age just does not want to sit on the phone talking to their parent or understand that it will make them feel bad/sad.  Kudos to Gary's brother for trying to explain it to Leah though.

I guess when you have MTV money to burn through you shop at an Art Supply store instead of Target for your kid's school supplies.  Seems a waste.

Not to mention all the stuff they bought!  They had 3 bags stuffed full of stuff.

I get that Maci is worried that Ryan isn't giving Bentley enough attention but I don't get the issue of missing his first day of kindergarten.  I don't remember if my parents went with it.  Guaranteed my dad did not.  And of course Maci would automatically take the day off work to take Bentley - because she's so special.  Way to make every other parent who is unable to do that feel bad Maci.

Especially if Ryan works out of town.... it's probably a job where you can't get time off easily.

Ryan had a choice on whether to sign up for filming or not.  He could have said no, but he didn't. So suck it up butter cup and enjoy the cameras!

I did like how his dad said it was the only time they actually got to talk to Ryan lol

Gary and Amber make me want to bash my head against a wall. Repeatedly. I would say that it's great to see them co-parenting and doing things together for Leah's sake....except I don't think they're doing it for Leah. Not entirely, anyhow. No, I think it's more about them wanting to be around each other, for whatever masochistic reason. But Gary tickling Amber was just soooo inappropriate. If Kristina is still with him in real time, after seeing that and all the other things he's said about "never say never" - more power to her. Because I'd be gone.

One huge red flag should have been when Gary said the reason he wanted to stay with Kristina is because "she helps us out" - not "I love her". Mmmmhmm. Gary just used her as a caretaker while Amber was in prison. He's so gross.

And what kills me is that Amber KNOWS this relationship is not good for her. But she eats up the attention from with a spoon. Just all giggles and smiles. Damn. They must have been barred from telling jokes in prison, because she is laughing at everything that buffoon says and does like he's the funniest man alive. And he's so not.

And Amber is just incredibly immature. She needs to be in therapy, because her reactions to everything always seem so extreme and misplaced. Kristina was at the school because she HAD to be - to drop off HER kid. And it's only natural that Leah would want her mother to meet someone important in her life. But instead of making it all about Leah and this big moment in her life, it had to be about Amber. And she sulks and pouts and refuses to walk Leah to her class, and declares her ENTIRE day ruined over something so minor.

And then the phone call. I get it. That would hurt. But she should have kept her composure and not called Leah a brat right where she can hear her. She needs to learn that it's nothing personal, kids are like that. And things will work better if they establish a schedule and stick to it - not just her randomly calling and Gary randomly asking her to do things. It reminds me of when my mother divorced my step-dad. He never had any set schedule with my sisters. He would just randomly show up on a Friday and night and say, "I've got tickets to the ball game, let's go"....and they'd have plans already. So he'd stomp off in anger and not call or see them for MONTHS on end. At the end of the day, YOU are the parent. You can't act like a child. Things they do may hurt, but you have to get over it and behave like an adult.

I worry about the same type of things happening with Ryan. The way he acted towards Bentley in the restaurant was just appalling. I didn't think Bentley was trying to be mean. He's five. He actually looked like a nervous little kid who had something to say, but couldn't quite work out how to verbalize what he was feeling. Instead of being patient and trying to talk with him, Ryan acts all martyred and stomps out, barely giving the kid a hug goodbye. No, "Have a great first day at school!"....nothing. He's such a jerk.

Maci isn't perfect, but I do understand her concerns about Bentley having "daddy issues" down the road. Even Ryan's parents seem visibly upset by how he treats his son. Thankfully the kid does have a lot of love in his life, from all of his grandparents. So it's possible he will turn out just fine.

I loved how Maci cried after dropping Bentley off, after she told Jen she'd be fine. I wish she'd quit the girlfriend talk, though. The kid is five! He's going to have FRIENDS. Some may be girls. But that does not make them girlfriends....sheesh.

So it's quite clear that last week's preggo test scene was a total reenactment if they're already far enough along to find out the gender. But that's the famewhores for us. The ones who sit on Facebook comparing likes all day. Wow. No wonder they never got college degrees. Social media is their job.

Tyler's pining for a boy was really irritating me. Look, I've had three kids, I get the whole preferring one gender over another. I even get being sad about not getting the one you want - especially with parents that end up with all girls or all boys. It's not life ruining, but it can be upsetting and I am not one to judge another person's feelings. But something about the way Tyler reacted just rubbed me the wrong way. He had SUCH an attitude about it. And then summing up raising a girl as "all tampons and hairspray" just squicked me out. First of all, maybe she won't even be into makeup. Your daughter can play ball with you, you know. But also, what father is already thinking about his baby daughter's period??? That kid is just so weird.

Preach! Every fucking scene of her without Leah just looks insanely boring. All she does is sit on her couch, or bed, or chaise lounge (lol) and stare off into space. At least get cable, Amber, damn.

That was pretty telling when his dad said that. It makes it seem like Ryan isn't around much, and I wouldn't be surprised if the same goes for Bentley as well. I agree about filming - if you hate it that much, don't do it. It doesn't seem like Ryan's family is struggling, so he should be just fine without the MTV money. But if you want it that badly, than shut up and deal with the cameras.

The Gary/Amber kindergarten drop off scene was crazy.  Does Amber not drive?  Why was it necessary for Gary & Amber to go with Leah to buy school supplies? Why couldnt Amber meet Gary at the school with Leah?  The very sight of Gary's girlfriend causes Amber to not go in and walk her daughter into school? WTF.  She needs a job already cause looking out the window...is not a job.

I'm not ashamed to say that I was gleeful when it was revealed that Catelynn was having a girl.  Tyler is an ass.  All they do is google themselves.   I did get a misty when Maci dropped off Bentley but I got all teary when I dropped my own daughter off at kindergarten on her first day.  I get that Ryan cant take off work but damn he could at least said that he would have liked to be there.  He always looks like he's about to explode or is in a trance.

Maci broke my heart. I know how much she wants Ryan to be involved in Bentley’s life, but it’s his loss, if he decides not to. Ryan will always be a douche. Thank God Bentley has his parents in his life. I wonder how Ryan will explain why he’s such a douche, when Bentley eventually asks. How are these kids in kindergarten?

Amber was kind of an asshole at the school. You knew ahead of time that Gary’s girlfriend’s daughter went to the same school as Leah. Why don’t you just meet her? You’re going to have to eventually. Also, Leah doesn’t need a family to be loved. Amber needs to give herself more credit for all of the positive things she’s done in Leah’s life.

Catelynn: Thank God they didn’t have a boy. Slade is a ridiculous name. When did Nick grow up? He seemed so much older than the earlier episodes. Butch’s letter broke my heart.  I hope  they all receive therapy for what Butch has done. It has to hurt.  Butch saying that he should go into porn, and call Farrah to help, was classic.

When will they announce that  Farrah is back? Like I care. Farrahless Teen Mom OG is fine with me.

I never cried when my daughters went to school.  I LOVED school, and looked upon it as a wonderful milestone.  I read to them, worked with them - made sure they knew their alphabet, could write their names, knew their addresses and phone numbers, and could read books on their level.  I remember their first days of school as a day of celebration.  It was like "Yes!!! This is what we have been training for!!"  I was a full-time employed mom, and listening to how their day went was the highlight of my long days at work.  I treasure those memories.

And yes - Butch throwing out that dubious shout out to Farrah??  Priceless!!

Amber is turning into both Kail and Chelsea, with the "I don't have a family" and refusing to meet Kristina. Amber being nasty about Kristina is going to mess Leah up. It's going to make her think she can't be friendly with Kristina, because Mommy doesn't like her. Amber needs to suck it up and be pleasant. Chelsea never got there with Adam's ex, but Kail got there with Vee, and it made things so much better for Isaac.

On the flip side, I like how comfortable Maci and Jen are with each other. If Maci and Ryan can't get along, it's good that she can have a civil, casual conversation with someone in his family, so there isn't always tension.

Sorry, Nova Rain (I think it's Novalee Rain, but whatever) - Daddy wanted a boy. Hope you don't feel like you're a disappointment to him. You're going to have enough issues as it is.

Like most reality "stars", the more they are on television the more I grow to dislike them. I remember watching Farah's 16 and Pregnant episode and feeling really sorry for her having to deliver her baby alone, not even her mom was in the delivery room. I also liked Caitlyn and Tyler and thought they were the most level headed couple on the show, despite their chaotic lives. Now I strongly dislike them all. Sigh.

I think Gary and Amber will get back together eventually. I also don't dislike Ryan for some reason. I remember on a Teen Mom special with the horrid Dr. Drew he said he did not care for the cameras, so I think that makes him seem more aloof and jerky.

Maci remains my fave. Hopefully this show will go off the air before that changes as well.

I was all on Ryan's side at the beginning of the episode as well because of this. My kids aren't in school yet but I can pretty much guarantee that my husband would NOT take off of work for that. I'll take enough pictures when the time comes.

Ryan lost me during the restaurant scene though. Ouch. That was really cold and it hurt MY feelings, I can't imagine how Bentley must have felt. I can tell (and always have kind of felt it) that Ryan is uncomfortable around the cameras but that just doesn't give him a free pass to be a total dick to his kid. Give him a real, big hug and wish him good luck on his first day and explain to him how much he wishes he could be there.

I must have been blinded by all the abuse he took in the past but I always thought Gary was a halfway decent guy. He absolutely squicked me out this episode. The tickling was really creepy to me and his disregard for Kristina was pretty appalling too. I hope she dumps his creepy ass. The winner of the episode is her ex husband for not letting their child appear on film.

Cate and Tyler....whatever. I wanted to punch him in his face about the weight comment. I am a fairly thin person but I gain a TON when pregnant. Some people can't help it. I'm sure Cate isn't eating the healthiest meals in the world (I know she isn't but no judgments from me, I didn't either) but she is pregnant for goodness sakes. Just let the weight thing slide. What an ass. I couldn't wait to see his disappointment over the gender. I do grudgingly pat Tyler on the back for telling Nick that it would have been ok to cry when he read Butch's letter.

Butch steals the show without even showing his face on camera haha. I loved the porn/Farrah retort.

Oh my. Yet again I am left baffled after watching Teen Mom. I'm not even fully sure where to start.

Amber: Not much to say here. Because I'm an optimist, I'm really hoping she has at least a part-time job and they refuse to allow her to film there and any mentions have been just edited out. I'm enjoying the breaking of the fourth wall because I think it is also showing us a better look at who these kids are. When they were filming getting Leah's school supplies Gary and Amber made comments about how so many people were watching and then Gary said something along the lines about how everyone wants to watch "awesome" Gary film for Teen Mom. I get Amber not wanting to take Leah into school because of Kristina. Heck, even Kristina didn't want to cross paths with Amber at school. They both should have sucked it up and focused on their respective kids. Ideally, they would have met without Leah (and probably without Gary for it to go better) for maybe coffee to just at least get the awkwardness out of the way so they could be civil towards each other when they cross paths.

Speaking of breaking the fourth wall, wow! Tyler and Caitlyn are showing some true colors. And I don't like those true colors. Talking about making sure they post their announcement on Instagram at the same time and then sitting there with a friend counting the likes and reading the comments. *facepalm* No one else mentioned this but at the reveal party before they pulled the string to the piñata, they were nearly lecturing the guests about not posting or saying anything to anyone until C&T shared info and then to only share the photos that C&T shared. The last thing I remember was Caitlyn yelling to say "no comment "to the magazines that would surely be calling. Thanks for the Butch "sighting" though. Also, Tyler, shut the heck up about regarding weight gain. For that reason alone, I'm glad the kid is a girl and not a boy. And dude, your reaction to the gender reveal has been caught on camera. Your kid will most likely see that at some point in her life. Talk about damage.

I don't have much to say about Maci. Watching the scene at the restaurant with Bentley, Ryan and Ryan's parents was uncomfortable. I felt bad for Bentley. It seemed like Ryan's dad was ready to blow but his mom managed to keep him composed until the cameras left. What happened to Ryan's truck? He stormed off in a nice red corvette. It isn't a huge deal to miss the first day of kindergarten. I'm surprised none of the parents did some fun photos thanks to all the new trends via Pinterest. Maci's boyfriend had some decent serious and not so serious advice for her in dealing with Ryan.

My last thought and I'm not sure if this is the right spot for it because it is about the after show. If I need to delete/move it, just let me know and I will. But seriously?! Gary condoms? Do those actually exist? WHY? I laughed when Caitlyn mentioned how breaking the fourth wall made filming easier. My thought was "Yep, because now you have something to actually show...you and Tyler being obsessed with your fame on the Internet." Also, the tease for the next episode? Amber's tease was maybe Dr. Drew will appear? Seriously? Boo! But then Caitlyn and Tyler dealing with Brandon and Theresa, that will be interesting.

I just wanted to reply to the bolded that this didn't strike me as odd in the slightest. I am not famous and still told my guests the same thing at our gender reveals. We wanted to be the first ones to be able to announce our children's gender on social media so the friends and family that weren't able to attend could see it from us first. So for that, I don't fault them but the counting likes on Instagram and Googling themselves is getting really out of control.

We wanted to be the first ones to be able to announce our children's gender on social media so the friends and family that weren't able to attend could see it from us first. So for that, I don't fault them but the counting likes on Instagram and Googling themselves is getting really out of control.

And I get that but combined with all their previous comments and the last episode of Tyler mentioned how he had hoped they could do a nice spread to announce the pregnancy, it didn't sit well with me. I probably wouldn't have been bothered if they phrased it differently, such as similar to verbiage of what you said of wanting those who couldn't attend to hear it from you specifically.

I think C&T were trying to differentiate between approved pictures and paparazzi pictures. If they post something, it's okay for their family and friends to repost it, but if it's a picture taken without their permission, they don't want people reposting. They want control over what gets posted about them, which I think is fair.

I think Gary and Amber will get back together eventually.

I think they're doomed to live the rest of their lives like Chelsea and Adam, in a perpetual cycle of being together and breaking up (which is just like they've always been). I'll be surprised if Gary doesn't cheat on Kristina with Amber.

I think it's more Ryan's attitude than anything else that's bothering Maci and his parents, as well as Bentley. It may in part be due to his not liking the cameras, but more likely is that he just sucks. Maci needs to get over it, though. If she stepped back a bit, Ryan might miraculously step up.

Gary is an asshole and he looks like he could keel over and have a heart attack with all of that weight he's carrying. Why he thinks he's a catch is beyond me and Kristina probably has very low self-esteem to put up with that shit. I hope she kicks his ass to the curb after seeing his behavior on national TV. His friend cracked me up, too, with the comment about a random old dude in the parking lot and also if he wants to make Amber laugh, he can just tell a joke.

Tyler. What a pig. I do agree with him, however, on the weight thing. Twenty pounds in the first trimester when you're already chubby doesn't make for the healthiest of pregnancies. If he weren't such a fucking asshole otherwise, we wouldn't resent his commenting on Catelyn's weight. Does she ever exercise? It seems all we've seen her do for the past six years is sit around on her ass, like Amber, and beg Tyler to marry her. Great to hear from Butch and to see how Nick has grown up so nicely.

Speaking of Amber again, that producer chick seems to be close to her and always around, feigning like she actually cares. Why doesn't she tell that girl to get up from that sofa and go do something. Go to school. Get a job. An NA meeting  Anything!

I dont know why Tyler was pretending to be upset the baby is a girl.  Have we ever seen Tyler do sterotypical guy stuff?  Fix cars or play ball or watch sports or play video games?

Suck it up Tyler.  You can always take her to get makeovers and pick out prom dresses.  Something you've already shown an affinity for.

He stated that he wanted a boy because his father screwed up with him so badly that he really wanted to be a good father to a son. I mean, I kind of get that - but what does gender have to do with it? Doesn't Tyler have a sister as well? How about just being a better parent than your dad, period - no matter if you have a boy or a girl?

These kind of relationships just baffle me. I have one ex that I am friendly with, but I have never done the back-and-forth thing in my life. I don't get it. Once I'm done, I'm done. Maybe it's different because they have a kid together?

I wanted to jump through the screen and punch Tyler's skinny ass in the face when he was giving Cate shit about her weight.  Hey asshole, SHE'S PREGNANT.  Some people's bodies react differently to pregnancy than others.  I had easily gained 20 lbs by 4 or 5 months with my son and topped the scales at 70 gained by the time I had him (10 of that was him.  He was a BIG boy.) I lost it all within 4 months, so shove it, Tyler.

Amber actually had me proud of her during the scene where she was telling her cousin (who squicks me out.  That chick looks trashy as hell and I totally believe Amber's mom that she only shows up for the cameras) that it's better for LEAH to stay with Gary.  That was really mature.  But then she had to go and ruin it by acting like a pouty child over Kristina being at the school dropping off her OWN kid.  Also, Gary is nasty.  It's clear he just enjoys playing head games with Amber.  So he's grotesquely obese, mentally abusive and conceited as hell.  Who is attracted to this man??

I totally cried when Maci was driving home after dropping off Bentley at school.  That'll be me in a couple of years and I know I'll be the exact same way.  I did roll my eyes when she was saying he was going to be messed up by Ryan not showing up to school.  Dramatic, much?  I have no recollection whatsoever of my first day of kindergarten, much less remember who was there and who wasn't.  I think he'll get over it.  I enjoyed Maci's boyfriend's "not serious" advice to drink a beer and get over it.  That'd be my "serious" advice to her. Ryan IS an ass, tho.  His father's anger at the restaurant scene made that pretty clear.

Not everyone reacts to pregnancy the same.  With both my kids, I gained 10 pounds as soon as the line on the stick turned pink, it was ridiculous.  I also had really bad morning sickness and the only things I could keep down were pretty unhealthy (I think with my daughter I subsisted on nothing but french fries for two weeks.  It was literally the only thing I could keep down.) And have you tried exercising when you're puking every hour?  Enough with the armchair doctoring about her weight, it's obnoxious, whether it's from Tyler or random people on the internet.

I was annoyed as hell the first time I got invited to a Kindergarten graduation that included a gift registry and expected gift amount

I hope you are no longer friends with those people, because that is RIDICULOUS.

For awhile she got pretty small, which is why I knew immediately that their scene of finding out she was pregnant was re-created for the cameras because she only got big again after she was pregnant.

It is definitely the kids.  You keep going back because you want to become a family for the kid. Well then there's an oops and then there's another kid.... 6 years later you finally have enough.  We went through this with my brother and my nephews' mom.  I think she was looking for easy money (she was a drug addict and loved to pawn his stuff, not to mention have a free place to stay) and he was just trying to do what was 'best' for the kids.  I don't know how many times he said to me "they need their mom" uhhhh no, they do not if she's going to be addicted to drugs and ruin their lives with her actions.  I think he felt responsible for her.  Finally he sent her packing back to her parents for them to deal with.  And they weren't married, close, but he called it off the week before.

Did anyone watch the aftershow? I only saw the last few seconds and the host thanked Farrah for appearing, but she wasn't on stage with the others and they showed her flouncing around backstage, apparently. Now I'm curious what that was about.

Tyler explaining the prison commerce ecosystem. Filing away that a Batman themed Happy Birthday card costs 5 bags of chips.

Gary and his "We are just having Family Dinner" was such bullshit. That was meant to be and probably felt so exclusionary to Amber in combo with Leah being a little kid and not having the words to explain "I'm eating at the moment" instead of "I don't want to talk to you". They also having Amber staring off into the distance wistfully what seems like entirely too much this season.

I haven't followed this show from the beginning, but wasn't Amber at some point diagnosed with a serious mood disorder (like bipoloar or something)? If yes, I really blame Gary for all his flirting and mind games. She said she was glad they were friends now and he implied there could be more knowing that there wouldn't be anything more and it would set her off. His current girlfriend seems like a nice person and I hope she runs for the hills.

C&T, I had the most hope for these two out of everyone to be happy and productive adults. That didn't happen and I'm over it.

I find Maci annoying. She loves Bentley and makes him the center of her world, but is so focused on what's wrong that she is the one creating harmful issues for Bentley. He has two parents who tell them they love him and supportive grandparents so he is a very lucky kid. I'm not saying Ryan is a good dad, because he clearly isn't, but many happy and well adjusted kids come from all types of family situations so Maci needs to stop harping on the fact that Ryan doesn't meet her definition of fatherhood, especially in front of Bentley and Ryan's family.

Am I the only one a little bit scared about Farrah's return? I'm worried there won't be enough bleach for my mind afterwards.

People are entitled to their opinions and I was merely expressing mine. In addition, it was in response to comments others had made about Tyler riding Catelyn about her weight, but more important, I don't really care a fig one way or another how many pounds she gains. That said, all she seems to do is sit around and eat or pout, and has been that way since we first "met" her at age 16 which is not a healthy way to be at her age. If she's not careful, she'll wind up like Gary and it won't be pretty.

In fact, if she showed some interest in something other than getting Tyler to marry her and getting knocked up, he might be more interested in marrying her, but who knows?

Agreed. I gained so much weight in my first trimesters because I was so sick and had to stuff my face with crap in order to not puke. I felt disgusting, but I was at the mercy of my body. No way I could exercise (and I was a girl who had faithfully been working out daily since I was 18).  I gained 35-45 lbs with each pregnancy, but most of that was in the first trimester. Not to mention, if Cate is finding out the gender, she's not likely IN the first trimester anyhow. Either way, he can shut it. It's quite possible she's just being a pig, but if that's the case I'm sure she knows it and shaming her isn't going to help any.

Farrah had been watching from backstage. She made a comment about Catelynn (?) being in denial or something equally snotty. She then had her own segment where the other girls watched backstage. Their comments were basically that Farrah wasn't making any sense. (It was a little hard to follow Farrah's answers)

Then the girls went back onstage and Farrah was asked if she wanted to watch and see what they had to say about her segment. Farrah said, "Honestly, I don't have time to care. No time to care." Farrah barely moved her jaw to form those words and hit the "t"s very hard. She was clearly pissed off.

I don't think anything was said by any of the 4 that was particularly offensive. On the show, anyway. But there was definite tension in the air between the 3 and Farrah.
