Skyfall March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 Let's start this off by listing our favorite guests thus far. Link to comment
maystone March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 I could watch Yvette Nicole Brown every week. And Phil Brooks, too. That's if you're asking for non-cast guests. 2 Link to comment
Kristen March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 I do enjoy when they have TWD cast members on. They give great insight to their characters. Or when they have Greg Nicotero, but Yvette Nicole Brown is an absolute treat. 1 Link to comment
Tarable March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 Yvette Nicole Brown is my fave. I also liked CM Punk and Aisha Tyler. 2 Link to comment
maystone March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 I felt kind of bad for Melissa McBride when she was on two weeks ago. I think she wanted to go in depth on her character's story in The Grove, really dig into it. But it's a fan talk show, so Chris had to keep moving it along. She seemed to loosen up more toward the end, especially when Yvette put her hand on Melissa's arm in Carol/Daryl shipper moment. Heh. Link to comment

Milaxx March 28, 2014 Share March 28, 2014 And what about least favorite (Marilyn Manson doesn't count!)? MM owes the title as the worse, but honorable mentions go to J.B. Smoove and Julie Bowen. They both earned the SFTU awards. 3 Link to comment
Dejajeva March 28, 2014 Share March 28, 2014 Does anyone know why that hobbit guy didn't show a few weeks ago? Link to comment
Milaxx March 28, 2014 Share March 28, 2014 Does anyone know why that hobbit guy didn't show a few weeks ago? I heard that he he didn't get a chance to watch the DVDs of the show and wasn't caught up enough to participate in a conversation so he canceled. Fortunately I think Soniqua & Lauren held their own. lawless March 30, 2014 Share March 30, 2014 Love it when Yvette Nicole Brown is on -- she treats the Talking Dead appearance like it's an important event, re-watches episodes to prepare, brings notes, and is delightful and polite. The perfect guest. I also liked Chris Jericho, because though I have no idea who he is, he also takes it seriously and comes to the show dressed up fancy and prepared to discuss the show substantively, and is willing to side with gray-haired, dowdy, middle-aged Carol over Rick. Hah! I didn't agree with him, but I found his stance very amusing coming from a giant man who I think is a professional wrestler. I also loved it when Aisha Taylor was on, and she worked well with Michael Rooker, to my surprise, but he was probably extra nice to her because she's gorgeous. Nathan Fillion was charming, though a little dull. MM was truly the worst, and Julie Bowen was HORRIBLE . . . but I think she was actually on Talking Bad rather than Talking Dead. I made the same mistake until someone pointed that out to me -- but yeeesh, that was so awful it bears mention anyway. And she was paired with Vince Gilligan no less, poor man. 2 Link to comment
Milaxx March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 Talking Dead was good this week. Just Andrew and Scott. That was all that was needed. I had my doubts when Scott said he was going to give every character air time this season. It may have been an uneven season but overall I think it was successful. As a viewer I have much more of a sense of who these characters are. I'm also glad TD realized they can't have actors from the show on only when their character dies. Next season we finally get Chandler RIgg. I wonder how much of a growth spurt he'll have over the summer. 1 Link to comment
lawless March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 Heh, at the rate he's going, possibly one like Bjorn on Vikings. If the show picks up where they left off, they better start filming soon. Link to comment
asha March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 I should not have watched The Talking Dead with Andrew Lincoln, because now I like Rick a lot more than is reasonable. 3 Link to comment
catrox14 March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 Oh Andrew Lincoln:) I love how posh he really seems to be and my brain still trips when he's speaking with his normal accent. He's pretty great. I loved the bit with the gal on Skype with the nod to him in Love Actually. 5 Link to comment
bunnywithanaxe March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 Aisha Taylor could come on every week as far as I am concerned. The geek is strong in her. 3 Link to comment
GreyBunny March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 That damn bird... Andy Lincoln was a delightful guest, I hope he'll be on again next season. 2 Link to comment
CletusMusashi March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 He won me over with "William Shatner." Do zombies like ham? 2 Link to comment
SimoneS March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 (edited) Andy Lincoln was an entertaining guest. I enjoyed the stories that he shared and his insight into Rick. I had seen him in so many British shows/movies that it was odd the first time I saw him accent-less on TWD. Good to hear his real voice. He and Steven Yeun are such a good looks guys when groomed and cleaned up. Favorite celebrity guests: Yvette Nicole Brown, Aisha Tyler, CM Punk, and Scott Porter Edited March 31, 2014 by SimoneS 1 Link to comment
Izzyboy March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 I was really happy with Andrew Lincoln as a guest. He's a really charming guy and you could tell he got just how much it meant to Chris Hardwick and us fans that he was in attendance. 4 Link to comment
Samx March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 Andy was a great guest. I enjoyed how Andy described Rick as "looking a state" the morning after the marauder showdown. Also enjoyed him calling Norman "Normski." It's the little things. I think Chris Hardwick was geeking out over Andy a little bit and it was fun to watch. 4 Link to comment
Wilowy March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 I too love how Chris is such an unabashed geek for the show peeps. He's already hilarious, and to see him be all "OMG LOOK WHO'S HERE!" is adorable. I still don't watch TWD any more since they killed Hershel (inexcusable), but I'll catch TD sometimes just to see what's up, and mainly because of Chris. Link to comment
Rapunzel March 31, 2014 Share March 31, 2014 (edited) This episode of Talking Dead was pretty good. Andrew Lincoln is very articulate and brings a nice amount of humor. I hope he is on next season as well - would be great to see him on with Yvette Nicole Brown and/or Norman Reedus. I should not have watched The Talking Dead with Andrew Lincoln, because now I like Rick a lot more than is reasonable. I have always loved Andrew Lincoln (and think he's gorgeous) long before The Walking Dead so I have never been able to dislike Rick as a character even when some of the things he's done really annoyed me. I have no problem not liking the version from the Graphic Novels at times, however. Scott Gimple was much better this time around than he was on his appearance earlier this season. He seemed so awkward and nervous last time that I was hoping he would never be on again but thankfully he was considerably better this time. He's still not as great as some of the other crew members that have been on, but at least he's not one of the worst ever and I wouldn't mind if he were on again next season. With the season over he wouldn't have to worry about that and could relax more. 1 Link to comment
LCanterbury April 1, 2014 Share April 1, 2014 I watched for the first time ever this episode, purely because Andrew Lincoln was on (my thoughts about him are far from pure though) and I enjoyed it. I liked hearing the behind the scenes tidbits and insights. Scott Gimple, despite presenting as the most boring man alive, was pretty interesting and had a great dry sense of humour that complemented AL's well. Does Chris Hardwick always talk so quickly? He could be a Gilmore at that pace. 2 Link to comment
KarateKate April 1, 2014 Share April 1, 2014 Does Chris Hardwick always talk so quickly? He could be a Gilmore at that pace. Maybe that's the je ne sais quoi I like about him. 1 Link to comment
Omar G. April 1, 2014 Share April 1, 2014 He gets a lot of flack for being on so many shows, but I really, really love Hardwick. I think he's fantastic as a host. He keeps things moving along, he's smart and quick and funny and kind. I've also seen him do stand-up and he's hysterically funny at that, too. So now we must be jealous and hate him. 10 Link to comment
matilda76 April 1, 2014 Share April 1, 2014 I had no idea who CM Punk was before he appeared on TD, but I appreciated him. I also love Aisha Tyler. Really enjoyed Andrew Lincoln for the season finale. I was a little apprehensive that he'd be really serious, so I was happy that he was joking around as well as giving good discussion. That's why I wasn't too hot about Melissa McBride a few weeks back. Granted, the episode with Lizzie and Mika was traumatizing, but on a show like TD you have to have some levity. She was way too serious and barely cracked a smile whenever the other guests joked around. Link to comment
Lyndy April 1, 2014 Share April 1, 2014 Love Chris Hardwick! His enthusiasm is refreshing even though sometimes I need to take a break from his podcast because too much positivity at once causes a short in my brain. Also, I sincerely love the woman who performed a Love Actually tribute to Andrew Lincoln via Skype. Slow clap, girl. Well done. 3 Link to comment

Pete Martell April 1, 2014 Share April 1, 2014 (edited) Most of the joking in her episode was about "Caryl" vs "Bethyl." I think she, like I, may have felt that was disrespectful to a story about mental illness and two children being murdered. The Love Actually woman tells her story. http://www.viewerdiscretionadvised.net/2014/03/omg-i-was-on-talking-dead.html The bonus clip, where Andrew reveals that he's the one who remembered that Rick should recognize Tara, and he sort of puts down his attempt at a Southern accent, much to their horror. (and Chris sort of flirts with him a little bit...) Scott Gimple's actually funny here. In a droll way. Edited April 1, 2014 by Pete Martell 4 Link to comment

bunnywithanaxe April 2, 2014 Share April 2, 2014 That damn bird... Andy Lincoln was a delightful guest, I hope he'll be on again next season. I kinda felt bad for him, though. He was clearly manifesting a lot of post-bitey trauma. Every time someone cracked a joke about it, he flinched a little. And am I the only one who was aghast at the raw chicken thing, for food handling reasons? I just can't think of any way that becomes a workable idea, health-code wise. Salmonella! There, I said it! Samx April 2, 2014 Share April 2, 2014 (edited) I don't see how this could be done safely. I wouldn't be surprised if someone ended up getting in trouble because of Lincoln's revelation! It's definitely not safe and, quite frankly, is stupid but Andy voluntarily chose the raw chicken. Assuming the risk, etc. I'm sure they had him sign a shit ton of waivers though. I think they might be worried about getting in trouble if it was an underage actor like Chandler Riggs. Chandler will be on Talking Dead next season - I wonder if that was a result of the Twitter outrage from fans when AMC told him he couldn't be a guest this year. Will be interesting to see his take on things as long as they have a really great comedian on at the same time. Edited April 2, 2014 by Samx 1 Link to comment
Pete Martell April 3, 2014 Share April 3, 2014 It depends on the comedian. A really great one would be nice, but I'm afraid they would get one who would ask him if he's going to hook up with Beth. I have a feeling they were afraid that them not having on this season would cause some sort of controversy because of the subject matter of the finale (which they seemed to avoid talking about as often as possible), so they needed to make sure people knew he would be on at some point. maystone April 3, 2014 Share April 3, 2014 Pete Martell, thank you for posting the bonus scene from the Talking Dead finale. I didn't want it to end - those three are hysterical together! Seriously, someone needs to give them their own show. During the famous-Coen-brothers-movie bit I laughed so loudly that I scared my cat. Scott Gimple's explanation of what was happening in the candle room just scotched my previous theory, but now I'm going to be obsessing over where they got all those damn candles. And whose job is it to keep them lit? And replaced when they burn down? Candles don't light themselves, people! 2 Link to comment
Iguana July 4, 2014 Share July 4, 2014 FYI, there is going to be a special edition of Talking Dead on this Sunday, July 6, 2014. It is supposed to be a preview of Season 5, and Scott Gimple and Aisha Taylor will be guests. I'm in! 3 Link to comment
walnutqueen July 4, 2014 Share July 4, 2014 Iguana - not only am I in - I intend to watch the entire marathon that precedes it, because I am a weak and lonely loser. :-) 3 Link to comment
Iguana July 4, 2014 Share July 4, 2014 Nah, you're not a loser, just an addict. Wait...what's worse? Well, I can state definitively that you are not lonely, because I'll be watching the most of the marathon too. 2 Link to comment
Wilowy July 4, 2014 Share July 4, 2014 @walnutqueen and @Iguana, a marathon of TD? Or is it TWD? Because if it's a marathon of TD, party at my houuuuuse!! 1 Link to comment
walnutqueen July 4, 2014 Share July 4, 2014 Iguana - I live alone and am addicted to much more than the innocuous Walking Dead (but that's another story). :-) Willowy - you and I wish it were the Talking Dead marathon - which will never happen. :-( 2 Link to comment
walnutqueen July 4, 2014 Share July 4, 2014 BOOO. Suck it up and throw the fucking party anyways, Willowy (just close your eyes & pretend it's Deadwood or the BAU). :-) 1 Link to comment
