Trying to grab Oscars has been the chief reason DOR's been making movies for the last few years. When I saw a video of him drunk at an Oscars after party a couple years ago, when he went home empty-handed for American Hustle, he was whining on and on about it, saying how at least Alfred Hitchcock never won an Oscar either (oh please, get over yourself). I can't stand the guy now. Seriously, that's like the only thing he wants in life.

Seth Rogen is one of those names that gives my brain an automatic "Pass!" signal on a film, regardless of who else is in it.  It's not even that I actively dislike him, but his voice and laugh annoy me immensely, and it's just easier to not deal with it.  I've never regretted the choice.

I'm a fan of non-Transformer Michael Bay movies, but really dread the idea he is taking on a politically charge real life story. So the evil guy isn't one of the Libyans that stormed the compound (who have no lines), but an American official?

I wonder if he is going to name drop "Hilary/Obama doesn't give a shit about you!"

The 33 looks terrifying and intense, but great.

Spotlight, starring Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber and Stanley Tucci. Very excited to see this one, it will also be showing at festivals like Toronto and Venice along with other Oscar hopefuls.

Ditto.  I've never forgiven him for what he did in "The Green Hornet"!!

I guess it's inevitable that Aidan Gillen is typecast as a villain.  He has a weasel face.

He also doesn't seem to even be trying to do an American accent.

He played a villain all the way back in Shanghai Knights as "Lord Rathbone".

At the time I thought he looked like a lost Baldwin brother raised in England. He did play an American CIA agent who gets killed by Bane in the opening scene of The Dark Knight Rises.

I don't care how good the acting is, nothing could induce me to pay $15 to see a movie about priests and child molestation.   If this were the old days when you could casually see a movie for $3-5, then sure I might give it a whirl.  But those days are long gone.

Bittersweet seeing Michael Keaton.   I'm glad his career's been given a second chance but I sorely miss the manic funny young guy from Night Shift and Mr. Mom

I kind of feel the same way whenever I see John Travolta now, and comparing him to his prime in Grease and Saturday Night Fever.

However, it's a better alternative than whenever you watch Heath Ledger movies and realize you're never going to see him being older than 28.

I'm in for 33 and Spotlight.  As much as I enjoy a good summer action flick, it's the Oscar worthy ones that I love, so we're approaching my favorite time of year.

Normally, I'd be in for this movie, too, but if it's anything like what you suggest (and I think it's leaning that way), then I won't spend two cents on it.

While Keaton was great in his early comedic roles, I'm glad that Clean & Sober, Birdman & Spotlight prove that he's capable of much more.

She has an Oscar, and is the highest paid actress in Hollywood, so you may not like her, but she draws people to the seats.

I'm not entirely sure she does draw people to the seats.  A lot of her films have not been particularly successful.

Having an Oscar means nothing in regards to a person's talent.

Absolutely. After all, Halle Berry has one, and I think she's a terrible actress.

Do you mean this ironically?  I may not agree with everyone who wins but I wouldn't say that the Oscars mean nothing in regard to talent.

No, I mean it. Bad performances and bad actors have and will continue to win Oscars, along with good ones. It's totally scattered. Maybe the lifetime achievement award means more, since they are taking in the person's entire body of work in that case.

Besides that there are makeup Oscars. When someone gets an Oscar for an 'okay' performance when you know the academy is thinking " We really should have given them the Oscar for X role so many years ago."
