Anyone know how long Justin will be on? I know he's still on GH. Since Days films about 5 years in advance (OK, only about 5+ months, but it seems like suuuch a loong time), I can't think Justin will be around very long. Darn. Wish Wally Kurth could clone himself.

He's not on contract at either show, so technically he can appear on both I believe.

I wish the show  would rebuild the Kiriakis family with Justin and Adrienne. This would be the perfect time to bring back Alex and the twins. Sonny needs his family around him and he needs them more than ever. Especially with his impending breakup with Sneasel. Alex is Angelica Devereaux's biological son. He should be a force to be reckon with. He should come back to help Victor avenge Sonny. He could also have a rivalry with  Brady with Victor in the middle. The show has such a rich history and they refuse to use it to tell good stories. Daytime shows are good  when they tell stories that are multigenerational and character driven..I also want Victor to reunite with Kate and dump Naggie. I prefer Victor to be a grey character and I thought he was at his best with Kate..They got each other and were perfect as a  dark power couple.

I don't think that Alex would have any problems with JJ and Abigail, since Adrienne their aunt raised him as their cousin. Does anybody know if Angelica is even alive? if she is, maybe she can come back and cause trouble if Alex is in town and try to usurp Adrienne's role as his mother...She was also her rival back in the day for Justin....Does anybody know when Sonny will wake up and when Sparkle and Sneasel find out about each other...I just hope that they don't drag this out....

Why have all of the Days mansion's shrunk? I thought when AS & JES left it would have freed up the budget but the week after they left all the sets shrunk. I just thought it was odd. They did build a nice lodge for Aidan but that will only be for another week or two. Maybe, the they refurb it for Hope. She is a major character without a home. Also, I didn't know Kayla was a surgeon?! When did this happen? Has she always be one? I thought she was hospital administrator or worked in a free clinic or something.

Allegedly, the smaller sets are easier to construct and more flexible to change. In theory, with the smaller sets, there will be additional new sets that can be introduced, on the cheap.

 

When Kayla originally appeared, she looked just like Catherine Mary Stewart and was a nurse. She remained a (surgical?) nurse during her transformation into Marybeth Evans throughout her entire initial run on DOOL.  When she came back a few years ago, she was a doctor, who became Chief Of Staff.  I recall she had some surgical scenes during her current run, pre-COS.

Is anyone else worried that thesurgery rubbing cocaine in the wound is going to cause Sonny to become addicted to cocaine?  

 

This line of thinking is what 23 years of watching General Hospital has created.  

 

ETA: i love how Sonny had major surgery and his hair is still perfect.

Melanie was unnecessarily rude to Theresa. And gag, she and Brady are in love already? Insta-romance yet again.

Lucas needs to stop being so obvious about Adrienne.

Again with Eve badmouthing JJ. LOL at Lima Bean wanting to move out. Just leave already and take your Mama with you.

Glad JJ got to visit Sonny. Not enough scenes of him with WilSon. Nice tie in with JJ telling Will he cheated, though I don't think Will will have time to confess.

I wonder if Sonny's missing wedding ring will be significant? He'll probably tell Will he doesn't need it back anyway.

I wonder if Sonny heard some of the stuff that Will said and that's why the machines went crazy? It's probably because of what Derrick said though. Did not expect him to open his eyes this soon. My money is on him being sedated again until everything goes to hell. Valentine's Day is going to be very interesting for WilSon this year.

What kind of hospital is Salem University? Anyone can just walk into a patient's room. Why wouldn't Sparkle think about who else would be in that room? I thought he was glad Sonny is keeping him a secret from his own husband?

I'm surprised Adrienne knew Sonny proposed marriage to Paul. Another plot-point since that never came out at the WilSon wedding. I suspected that Paul wouldn't know who she is.

Adrienne started off well keeping Sparkle away from Sonny's room, but I can totally see her booking a seat on the Sparkle Paul Train.

Of course she would be super-grateful about the blood, but it really is up to Sonny if he wants Sparkle to know about his condition. Adrienne taking Paul's number and agreeing to call him was an indication to me that she is softening towards Sparkle.

Paul has shown that he is selfless and Adrienne could even see that Sparkle still loves Sonny. It won't matter that he wouldn't give up his career back in the day when it comes out that Will cheated.

My personal feeling is that Adrienne's defense of Will and Sonny's relationship is based on the fact that they are married and not because she likes Will. I don't see her advocating for Will (since she cheated and reunited with her own husband) if Sonny chooses to reunite with Paul.

Surprise, surprise, someone stops Sparkles from going in the hospital room. Writers are so transparent and lame, that they come up with something else. From my couple of months of watching Days I guess this is the writer's M.O. on writing:

 

1. Pimping Dingy, Toothy, & Jar Jar

2. Sexual Assault

3. Affairs

4. A character just standing at the door

5. Assassinating Nicole

 

Hope is just forgetting everything isn't she, her passport and now her charger, girl needs to get it together. So convenient that Bree lives out in the middle of nowhere and something just doesn't make sense. She came over there as her last chance to find proof. OK, umm this whole time Aiden has been living in Salem, why hasn't she gone to the house to find this proof before? It can't be because she didn't want to break in because that's what her intention was when she saw Aiden leaving. Since Aiden changed the locks, what's the point in her still having that key? She knew damn well she couldn't get in the house that way. 

 

Sneasel, what a joke. JJ says he cheated on Lima Bean and all Sneasel can do is look down like he's getting ready for a bowel movement. He better get ready to shit because when Sonny wakes up that shit he squats out is gonna hit the fan or medical equipment, whatever is in that room. What I tell ya, Sneasel's breath is hurting Sonny. See how Sonny woke up looking crazed, that damn breath of Sneasel's. 

 

Lima Bean, get some damn dignity!! She's so nauseating to watch and so obsessed, girl sit down, I can see her being in an abusive relationship with a guy. Lima Bean just stop, she acts like every woman in Salem is suppose to be in awe over her relationship with JJ and how much he actually "loved" her. I would like to know right now, while they were dating what woman did they hang out with on a daily basis that would be able to see that JJ is soooo in "love" with her. If she's going by that logic then this stupid bitch might want to do process of elimination. Only women that were part of this relationship is Bev, Bitchy Beth, Suddenly Southern, Daphne, Judgy, Theresa, & Jar Jar. Now let's eliminate Judgy & Jar Jar since JJ is related to them and hopefully he's not into incest, Bev is eliminated as proof she was away on a cruise, Theresa has been eliminated after Lima Bean confronted her, Bitchy Beth is no longer in Salem, so that leaves Daphne and Suddenly Southern. I'm surprised she hasn't confronted Daphne yet, just because she's your friend doesn't mean anything.

 

Speaking of dignity, I need my girl Theresa to start picking up some, cause Suddenly Southern is right, Electro-shock Therapy is so beneath her and so unattractive. Of course, we have to have a Jonas save the day once again as Toothy will crack the case and Theresa will have to be forever in her debt. SMDH. 

 

I would like to give actors a suggestion. When you're holding coffee cups, don't hold them in a way where we can tell it's empty and nothing is in there, especially when you sit them down on a table. Empty cups make a specific sound indicating there's nothing in them.

Will is going to get it from Sonny. He will not know what hit him...Just like Sami was dumbfounded when he wrote that scathing article about her. Sonny was not happy to see him and that is why he was so agitated and  the machines were going crazy. Will has no idea what is coming for him. However, I feel sorry for him in a way, Sonny is going to leave him and Arianna. I dont see him forgiving him for this...Sparkle will use this to get back together with him. Will's  fear of being alone and lost without Sonny will be come true.. Now he will have to earn Sonny's trust and love again. Based on Sonny's personality, this will be a tall order....I don't think Sonny is the type of man that forgives this type of betrayal....

It's too bad that Nick  is dead, he would have been enjoying the turmoil in their marriage. He always hated their bond...

This could be really, really, really good or really, really, really bad. I'm going with bad.

I'll take it-especially if it comes with a cast cull. I'm sure every writer has them, but TomSell were really obvious with their pets.

They seemed to only love writing for characters they created like Rafe and the Hernandi so here's hoping the new writers get rid of some of their newbie creations like Clyde and the Poplar Bluff gang.

My guess is that Dena was hired back because it's the fiftieth and they need someone who is familiar with the old Days. TomSell are busy making Days unrecognisable.

If it does that's really bad writing because Sonny lost a lot of blood before they got him to the hospital, so it's pretty likely that any coke in his blood bled out of his system. Also the Salem police had to inform the hospital about the coke they found on the crime scene so they probably have him on some detox meds in his drip just in case. Also remember the drugs were just a way to cover up the true motive for attacking Sonny.

 

Personally I think Sonny was freaking out in the end mostly because he saw Sneasel and his first instinct was to try to kill him.

 

And yeah Sonny did look great lying there on the bed. But I'm thinking that's because most of us here have a major crush on Sonny (at least I'm proud to say I do. Freddie's just about the only reason I keep watching this show. Well that and the occasional shot of shirtless JJ. Since they seem to be finaly letting Casey have his chest hair, Is it too much to hope that this year they'll finally fulfill my dearest shallow wish: to finally, finally see a shirtless natural Freddie?)

It's really just going to be the same eight writers cycling in and out until soaps are extinct, huh.

 

That's... horrible news. Dena Higley is the worst. What she did to OLTL was awful. I have no faith in that woman's ability to write a story.

 

Josh Griffiths? He's passable but... I don't know... none of this bodes particularly well.

 

On the upside, with the way this show is we won't see their work until... what, next year?

Will makes Melanie seem like an adult. What an odd fellow...

 

Paige's affection for JJ is a little weird, but I'm making up my own interpretation that she's looking for a way to assert her own identity against her mother, and perhaps clinging to JJ is a way of doing that.

 

Teresa's eyes always look on point. She never has a bad eye day.

I saw some of Griffith's work with the Sharon bipolar story which was done nicely and SC knocked it out of the park with her acting but then he did the paternity storyline and then it flopped so I'm not going to have high hopes and I'm going to set my expectations so low that my expectations are as low as the pits of hell.

As for today's show, why was Will glaring at JJ?  Why does Melanie look like she walked off the set of a porno about a crimping iron?  When did Hope become fracking stupid?  

 

I really hope Jackson unleashes on Will tomorrow.  And I NEED Victor to start referring to Will as "your slut husband" as soon as he finds out.

I think FS did a good job with that last scene today.  And I continue to find Christopher Sean to be a good actor.  I realized re-watching Paul's scene with Adrienne from today that unfortunately GW's acting is a big reason why I'm totally Team Paul.  I hate to rag on GW; he seems like a decent person and seems to love acting, but I realized that since he took over the role, his lack of believability in his feelings for Sonny has really turned the character for me.  He just brings no authenticity.  He's sitting there at the beside "Oh Sonny, blah blah blah, Valentine's Day, blah blah blah" and I'm finding Paul's concern for Sonny and asking Adrienne to call him and let him know he's okay to be a million times more believable. It's too bad, really.

If GW loves acting then he sure as hell needs to show that he loves acting, if only they got a better, good actor to play Will like Billy Miller, but I know BM wouldn't waste his time on Days unless he was hard up for work which doesn't seem to be the case. Even David Tom but I know those actors are a little too old for the part of Will but I can easily overlook that for someone that can really portray the character. I think anyone would be a step up from GW.

The first thing I thought of when Jackson was stabbed in the back was the fact they wouldn't need to put bandage on his naked torso.  My bad. I prefer Casey Moss except the scenes with Southern make me turn away. 

 

I remember Dena being just awful a while back but can someone give me a brief background on what a TomSell is? 

 

I watched last week all at once.  I'm glad I did to see the Jackson story play out like a movie.  But damned if there weren't excessive scenes of Nicole begging Dingy.  I'll say it again, for a real life couple there is NOTHING THERE.  In fact, I found myself actually preferring the Toothy Brady sex (sitting on his lap wasn't a bad thing imho)  when they kept cutting to more whining NIcole.  I don't know how she stands being used this way as an actress.

 

And I guess Fr Eeyore has picked up some pointers about throwing shade and angrily questioning women.  We know Shrewena is up to something but the jerk is all prebubescent about allowing a girl into his room, made it clear he wasn't interested, then sprung the ski lodge trip on her and was angry she didn't behave exactly as he wanted.  Very hard to watch. I agree with whomever said Shrewena doesn't look interested at all.  But he's such a jerk I hope she uses him.  And the "problem" with switching the elephants is way past stupid. 

 

How the hell did Hope's passport get wedged in the wall.  Did I miss something?

 

LOL to whomever noted that Naggie not only went home to change clothes, she got a whole new 'do.

Dena is horrible and I dont know why they are bringing her back.. Erika Slezak who played Viki on one life to live complained that she was a hack and was instrumental in getting her fired from the show. Erika Slezak is a team player and  she always plays what is written for her. However, she was disgusted with her writing.  This why soaps are dying. They keep recycling the same bad writers. Why don't they rehire the writers of the 80's and the early 90's who wrote beautiful character-driven stories....Writers who brought us Bo/Hope, Bo/Carly Patch/Kayla, Justin/Adrienne, Jack/Jennifer, the cruise of Deception e.t.c...

I do agree with you guy that Guy Wilson is the weakest link in the triangle. However, I still like him...I do think that the show will make Paul/Sonny the end game. The show is clearly giving Paul the edge over Will. Paul gave Sonny his blood to save his life and they made Will unlikable. I would not be surprise if the show turns Will/Sonny into  EJ/Sami part 2, with both characters doing despicable things to one another. Sonny glared at Will when he awoke. This does not bode well for Will. Paul/Sonny as a duo would crush Will like a bug, Will is too passive and weak to take either one by himself. Plus, Sonny knows how to keep Will in line...Sonny has always had the upper hand in their relationship and Will knows it. I think that is why he wanted to go out to LA and make it out there.. I hope that the show make Will become his own man away from Sonny. He needs to stand on his own with Ari. They can also bring a new guy just for him. A  handsome Brazilian businessman  that Will met briefly out in LA, who comes to work for Kate. I know that would drive Sonny crazy with jealousy. Sonny has never had any competition for Will. We have always wondered what Sonny sees in Will, it is obvious why Will loves Sonny. I think Sonny wanted Will because Will would be easy to control and keep in line. Whereas With Sparkle, he had no control and therefore suffered heartache. Will was a safe choice for him. Will looked up to him and admired him. He guided him out of the closet. Look at how He got an apartment and moved Will in , along with his daughter and baby mama. Then quickly married him. I think Will was overwhelmed by it all and Paul was the vehicle for him to explore his sexuality.

From what I understand, many writers from cancelled shows and other tv shows aren't interested in writing for soaps. I think they know that it's dying genre, so that may be a sole reason as to why they keep recycling writers.

Yes! Higley's back! Nicole will actually get screentime and a storyline now. It's not McPherson and Thomas but I'll take it. Anything to get more Nicole and less of the Abby/Melanie/Jennifer triangle of death.

Sonny is probably having a panic attack from remembering that he was stabbed. It feels like a fake-out precisely because it happened when he was looking at Will. I think the memory of what happened before the stabbing will come back soon, but not now, almost as if it has been blocked by trauma.

The end-game is nowhere near from being decided, especially now with the change of writers. Contracts are up for renewal soon, so who knows who will stay and who will go. The network might not get rid of the gay characters because of publicity, but there is still a question mark. They could also decide to recast the character of Will.

That blood donation was just a plot point to get Sparkle to the hospital with the added benefit of making him look better than Will.

I've already read that Paul has already given Sonny the best Valentine's Day gift, which is the gift of life and that his love will be flowing through Sonny's heart and veins for all eternity!

I have always said I will fully support Will becoming more independent and that is what I hope to see. He can date too if he wants, but that's not a priority.

I think Sonny is the leader in the relationship while Will is the follower, but I think most relationships have that dynamic and it changes day to day.

I have also speculated that Sonny likes to call the shots with Will because he was in Will's position with Paul, but it could just be that Sonny likes to take care of Will. It's not a bad thing for Sonny to enjoy being needed and it's also not a bad thing for Will to enjoy being taken care off if that's what works for them.

It has only recently become a problem because Sonny has needed extra support that Will was unable or unwilling to provide, so there has to be a balance.

Sonny can go ahead and sign up for Life With Sparkle 2.0 if he wants. I want to see if Sonny can go back to letting Paul call the shots again.

Seriously Eve - stop trashing JJ - it's getting really annoying (besides you were a willing participant & chose both times to sleep with him)

 

And how convenient is it that crazy lady showed up at the cabin to tell Hope yet again how horrible Aiden is & that he's a murderer - why didn't she look for this evidence when Aiden was gone?      This could be a good story if it was actually told right & made sense

 

I'm glad that Justin is coming back - I like Adrienne & Lucas but am not sure I want them together - they just don't seem to fit

 

Here's to hoping that Sonny remembers everything but instead of telling Will he knows - he decides to torture him a bit before outing him in front of everyone (there's got to be a sex tape lying around somewhere right??)

I like Paul. Sure, he couldn't take a hint when Sonny flashed the wedding ring and flat out said "Not interested", but who doesn't do that  on this show? And there's still time for the writers pull off a poorly done fake out where Paul's known who Will is all along, but barring that, I'll continue to like him. I don't even mind that he chose his career over Sonny because he seems to genuinely regret that decision (and it happened off screen). Even before he found out he couldn't play baseball again, he seemed to be starting to understand that he was wrong. I don't want to over think things and wonder about the "what if" he could still play scenario, because these are fictional characters and I have to draw the line somewhere! So for now, Paul's okay in my book.

 

I can't see Sonny going all Kiriakis on Will, whether he goes off immediately or slowly plots. It doesn't make for very good Soap, but one of the things that makes Sonny such an appealing character is that he is level headed and mostly honest. I hope he just lays it all out there and lets Will know just how deeply he's been hurt. While it would do Sonny some good to be single for awhile, it would do Will even more good. That boy has *got* to learn how to stand on his own, without his parents or Sonny or his grandmother to bail him out. I'm not sure if GW has it in him, but Will being a single dad could be a good way to make him finally grow up.

I can't see Sonny going all Kiriakis on Will, whether he goes off immediately or slowly plots. It doesn't make for very good Soap, but one of the things that makes Sonny such an appealing character is that he is level headed and mostly honest. I hope he just lays it all out there and lets Will know just how deeply he's been hurt. While it would do Sonny some good to be single for awhile, it would do Will even more good. Amen. One of the things I would also like to see is Will being mature enough to let Sonny go. No games, no using Ari as leverage to get him to stay.

The next time Sparkle harasses Sonny about getting back together I hope Sonny points out that the only reason he came out was because his career is over. If Dan had been able to fix his arm he would still be expecting Sonny to go back in the closet for him.

I was really disappointed that they took the career out of the equation because that could have been a real pressure-point for a future Sonny and Paul relationship.

Also, what's with Sparkle's faux-excuse that he's only coming out because Will slept with him? Will already said he wouldn't out him. Sparkle might have done it because it was time, but I feel like he also did it for Sonny.

I just can't figure out whether to believe that Sparkle really had planned to turn tail and leave Salem. He's been so pushy over the last few weeks that it was difficult for me to buy what he said to Adrienne about wanting Sonny to be happy. Maybe that last conversation with Sonny really hit home and then finding out who Will is changes his mind?

I hope Will does not  play any games with Sonny. I do think that he will fight for him. I could see Kate and Lucas playing dirty on his behalf. Sparkle will be telling Sonny how awful Will is and that he deserves better..He may even let him believe that it was an ongoing affair between them, as opposed to a one night stand. I do think that he will get back together with Paul..Paul is too pushy for my taste...I do think that he will be the one to play the games with Sonny and Will, because he has the edge over Will due to the fact that he saved his life. Plus, Adrienne will be on his side because she dislikes Will. Sonny will be very angry with Will. Eventually, Sonny will want Will back and then the war will really begin, especially if Will is with somebody else....There is speculation on other boards that Will will paired up with another guy...
