Yes!  And does anyone else remember that Salem actually has a system of canals (or at least one)?  Back when Bo and Hope had a whole house, complete with kitchen and backyard, their house was on the canal and the Fancy Face was docked in their own backyard.  I think we even saw it occasionally - after Bo had it docked at the pier for years, that is.  Now can you imagine if someone had a boat as their set?  WAY beyond their budget... ::sigh::

ETA:  I remember when we actually saw them sail a real boat on real water in the great outdoors, too!

EJ should not be giving Chad time of day for his perjurying testimony.  Chad better be arrested for it. Since they wasted all these court and trial on innocent person.

Kind of a boring ep to come back to after the hiatus.

Kristen's outfit and Kayla's dress were amazing.

I continue to find Xander in love irritating. I liked him and Gwen together at first and I liked the idea of him with Sarah but PT playing schmoppy boyfriend doesn't work for me at all.

EJ continues to look hot. Him and Belle are totally gonna fuck at some point. Belle does nothing for me but I'm willing to see where it goes lol.

EJ looks really good.

Abs was at least smart enough to drug Kristen for a while.

I also liked Kristen's outfit and Kayla's wasn't too bad. If Kristen is buying her prisoners clothes, good for her! Unless she took Patch's and Kayla's bags from the convent.... did she return the patch? That wasn't clear.

Chad doesn't know about DiMera Island? I did buy that EJ hasn't been in touch with Kristen much.

Gwen, it isn't that hard to smash the phone. Take out the card inside. Problem solved.

Xander, you don't play schmoopy well. Too bad you traded in Sarah's ring for another one to give to the new love of your life. Surely Maggie can sense that something is rotten in Salem.

Phew!!  For a moment there I was afraid we wouldn't get to hear Gwen's  daily recital of how deeply sorry she is for herself.  I can't imagine how hard it must be for her knowing how much everyone hates her for all the terrible things she's done.  She's going to be even sadder when they find out the even shittier stuff she's done recently.

Poor poor Gwen.  

If Abigail wasn't going to tie Kristen up, couldn't she at least have locked her in that armoire?  

When Clyde turned in his cot and saw EJ, he looked like he'd taken his teeth out for the night. For a second I thought EJ was sharing his cell with Granny Clampett.

I'm usually against all the slapping on this show (especially since it's usually only because someone was insulted) but in this case I'm willing to make an exception.  Gwen supposedly was SO INCREDIBLY devastated when she lost her own child, but is more than willing to make sure Maggie never sees her own daughter again - and this after Maggie just lost a daughter (yes, we ALL hated Summer, but presumably Maggie had some feelings for her.)   And Maggie is supposed to live the rest of her life receiving only vague texts?  And today, when it was obvious how much Maggie was hurting over Sarah's last visit (SR really hit the right notes on that one - portraying hurt about "Sarah's" behavior while voicing suspicion that something was seriously wrong) Gwen's only reaction was to be mildly p.o.'d that Maggie was making her feel a little guilty.

Abigail said she gave Kristin enough drugs to sedate a horse, yet she only made it as far as Sarah's room before a woozy but armed Kristin caught up with her. Either Kristin is stronger than she looks or Abs might want to recheck her calculations. Clearly math and chemistry aren't her strong points.

So Philece Sampler died in July of 2021. I was trying to figure out if it was a coincidence that Sarah thinks she is Renée DuMonde or it was sort of a tribute to the actress. Days taping schedule is done so far in advance but I guess 7 months isn’t out of the realm of possibility. Does anyone have the 411 on Days current taping schedule?

Ugh, the baby voice is back. I was grateful that LG didn't use the baby voice when she was playing Gwen & Ava as "Sarah" and had hoped she wouldn't use it as the real Sarah either, but my hopes were dashed by today's episode. I get that Sarah's mind is  warped right now but she was acting like a 12 year old girl at some points today - and the baby voice made it worse. 

So Sarah thinking she's Renee DuMonde doesn't seem like it's Kristen's doing since she seemed just as confused as Kayla & Steve regarding Sarah's odd behavior. I thought maybe Kristen had brainwashed Sarah into believing she's Renee for some stupid reason but that doesn't seem to be the case (so far anyway). I don't remember Sarah & Renee having any connection back in the day, so I'm going to guess a drugged-up Sarah found Renee's diary on the island, read it, and that's how she came to believe she's Renee. This is Ron we're talking about, so it doesn't have to make sense. 

Oh hi, Jack!! I love ya but if you can't see through you're deceitful daughter's odd behavior regarding your other daughter's disappearance, I'd rather you'd stay off screen. And of course he's already hugging Gwen and congratulating her on her engagement. It pisses me off that is what Jack Deveraux's appearances have been reduced to.

How can Jack and Xander be so dumb as to not see that Gwen is clearly lying? It’s written all over her face at all times. Do they somehow not see her lol?

I’m over Clyde and really feel like they need to stop bringing him back. Him trying to act like EJ kidnapping his wife is worse than what he’s done is laughable. But the actors are both attractive so at least I’ll get something out of the scenes.

I thought DiMera island was somewhere in the Mediterranean. Off the Amalfi coast of Italy, maybe.  Somewhere in the middle of the Pacific. Not Key West. Hmmm. No hurricane has taken it out.

I did like Abs and Kristen figuring out what happened to Sarah and that the Dr. Rolf drug that she wanted to use on Gwen somehow ended up in Sarah. She only had one dose so the mind warping should have been more minimal.

Not sure I would want Clyde sleeping above me. He did have a thoughtsicle when he hoped that EJ would not remember what really happened.

Chad, you should feel guilty about perjury. At least Tony knows about the island.

Jack, you are an idiot. Both you and Xander should have known that Gwen was lying through her teeth about Abs. Congratulate her on what hopefully will be her undoing.

Sarah selectively knows some Salemites. Why does she think she is Renee DuMonde? Does she speak French? It's not the best amnesia story. Couldn't she just have seen the light about Xandy and said nope.

LG can't even pull off playing one character. Why this show insists on having her play several is mind boggling.  As Sarah, she basically just plays herself, extremely obnoxious and over the top. She was awful as Kristen in a Sarah mask. This Renee stuff is already off to a terrible start. It's no different than how she plays Sarah except she's extra childish and annoying with that baby voice. Nothing she did was reminiscent of Renee.

Kristen and Abby scenes were terrible. Are we sure Zombie Abby didn't drug herself as well? She looked and sounded so bored.

What the heck is Kristen wearing? That woman has the strangest body shape and the clothes they put her in make her look worse. She's all bony with no curves except those implants.

IIRC, they only showed her putting in one pill.  I thought the same thing - enough for a horse?  Really?  She had no clue.

I don't think she's supposed to be acting like Renee since she doesn't even really know Renee. Someone mentioned maybe she read Renee's diary while on the island and because the drugs have messed with her brain she's convinced herself she is Renee, which I think is pretty good spec.

That being said though, I can not stand LG's acting and it really is somehow even worse now than it was back before she left. It's so embarrassing and unwatchable.

I think I had just started watching Days when Renee's story was taking place, and I was just learning all the characters.  One of the very first scenes I remember was Anna arriving at Roman and Marlena's house with little Carrie. So going by Anna's comments today, that would have been around the same time.    

Will have to see how it plays out, but so far I like the use of Days history in the current storyline.

I’ve been a member of this board basically for Y&R and Bold but was raised on DOOL. Both are in a bad place currently so I’m back since Monday. That being said, did ANYONE find a little comfort today hearing Neil Curtis and Mickey and Maggie being at least mentioned during “Renee’s” rant? We had Tony, Anna, and the few other OG’s left on today but….🤷🏻‍♂️  I’ve been trying to find my way back to Salem but the current cast/plot is very trying.

While she was off for a while due to illness, Susanne Rogers is still playing Maggie, and she is still on, I'd say infrequently at the moment, but had been at the forefront pre-pandemic.

They should've kept him married to Chanel longer not that I wanted them as a couple or anything but it could've been entertaining them being a MOC for a while helping each other with their schemes etc. I thought Paulina busting in on them was rather hilarious and it looked like PT broke out of character a few times.

LG was much less pre-teen today so that was nice. Whoever called Sarah reading Renee's diary and convincing herself she was her gets a cookie lol.

I like the TR actor so much. It's so irritating that they bring on good actors to play obviously short term characters.

I did have to laugh a little when "Renee" was mentioning different things such as Jake Kositchek being the Salem Strangler and Steve was asking "what" and Kayla said "I'll explain later."  As long as Steve has been in Salem (not counting the years he was "dead") it shows how much happened before he came to town.

Anna was everything today.  Nobody else was bad but only Anna really lifted any of the scenes for me.

Nice to see Eli back, Steve and Kayla had some funny moments, but a little of Sarah thinking she's Renee is going to go a long way.

After the exposition of the Renee/ Anna/Tony/Kristen storyline, there's no way Show can continue to pretend Kristen isn't on the shady side of 60.

I'm not feeling TR's evil side yet, and I'm not interested in Lani's overwrought declaration of eternal Daddyhood to Abe, either.  And Paulina can't carry a dramatic moment if her life depended on it.

They couldn't hash out the Renee storyline on the kayak because there probably isn't one. So they are stuck with a room with two paddles. Hope there is stretch in Kayla's dress in terms of actually fitting inside a kayak. A canoe is a better choice.

Anna was the highlight of the show. Going on about her life story and trying to come up with a 'treatment'. Uh, Mr. Coates is unlikely to fund a movie about her.

I did enjoy the mentioning of all the old Salemites who are no longer around. I too would enjoy Sarah calling Roman Chris Kositchek.

Abe doesn't really need to protect Paulina from her ex unless he chooses to do something to her. Who knows if he is still the abusive person he was 30 years ago. People can and do change.

It features Leann Hunley's big, glorious 80s hair, a Marlena and Chris spotting, Julie getting screamed at, Thaao Penghlis' hairy chest, and I think Tony's mother?  Was Daphne Tony's mother?  Philece Sampler was really good, too.  

This current Cartoon-Y Version of Anna annoys the hell out of me.  I hope she was actually an interesting character back in the 80s.  

Kristin actually amused me today when she explained how Sarah's obsession with Renee briefly made her life a little easier.  And I think Marci Miller and Stacy H have had good scene chemistry since Abigail arrived on The Island.

It was interesting to me that Eli didn't seem willing to give TR a chance to demonstrate that he's a changed man, especially considering that Paulina hasn't exactly been an upstanding citizen since her arrival in Salem, USA.

! Even though I wasn’t watching when Renee was around, I’ve watched the clip, and wouldn’t she act/ sound more like her with the Rolf serum (thanks Abigail, lol) . She’s still baby voice Sarah.
Abigail, no angel, but I agree with other posts..how very stupid that she didn’t tie/lock up Kristen. How about shove her in a suitcase?? It’s a sad day when I’m rooting for Kristen more than the others!

My memories are vague from that time, but I do remember the Salem Ripper, and a vague memory of Eugene staying with Marlena to protect her.

I wonder if Ron's plan with bringing "Renee" into the storyline would have eventually brought Philece Sampler onscreen for a cameo or short stint, if she hadn't passed away last year.

I, too, have vague memories of that time frame and remember Renee. I only saw it periodically back then, but I did start watching before she was killed off.  I remember seeing her later on Another World and thinking that Days should bring back her character.
