I agree that's the problem. I love Sami, but the soap could get along without her. But there is nothing going on that I want to watch. So it's not so much that they lost Sami as it is that they aren't filling the screentime with anything I like.

 

I found out that Melissa Archer is joining the show, so I've decided to hang in until she shows up. I've always really liked her, and maybe she'll have a storyline I want to watch. The odds of that are low, I realize, seeing as how all these other actors I like are stuck in awful storylines (or no storyline in MBE's case) but who knows.

Brady really is an incredibly stupid person. I'd advocate the old whack on the head-get a new personality trope, but John got hit good and it didn't improve him one little bit.

This character is supposed to be young, pretty and in love.  WTF is so wrong that she is constantly so miserable.  She rarely, if ever, smiles or changes her facial expressions.

RoboJohn was very different.  He wasn't a know it all and he didn't care about anyone, so he wasn't telling them how to live.  He only liked Claire, who was an adorable toddler.  It drove Marlena crazy, which really made the plot for me.  He walked around saying what we all were thinking, which was fun.

I don't know what's worse, her concave eyebrows or Grimace.  So glad when JJ told her to leave but then he had to go and apologize. She cuts him out of her life completely until she needs to see him  right now! and she was late, in order to criticize him, his family and what he's been up to that day. 

 

I watched today and yesterday and I'm completely on board for an Ann and Rory show. Particularly when Ann poked Mar over her lack of humour and quoted some Shakespeare about getting lines and wrinkles.  I've found some moments of Kristen funny but the tantrums are really, really old. Twice in one day. When is her last day? 

 

 

I did enjoy the scenes between Kayla and Eve today.  It was really about watching Mary Beth Evans and Kassie dePavia work with each other.  These are two pros who know how to take lackluster material and make it shine.  Even though KdP is a recast, she and MBE made me believe these are two people who have known each other for a long, long time.

MBE really elevated that enjoyable scene.  Well stated as usual, boes. I can't explain why she isn't dating Aiden too.  Hope's stories always seem completely separate from everyone else other than when she butts in.  It would be interesting.  And where the hell is Joey, shouldn't he have been running around the Dimansion with Sami's kids and Theo?  At least they included Theo in the last kids' scene.

She's not obligated to know that bit of information because it doesn't concern at all in the slightest. If she wanted to know so badly then she should have went to Kayla. It's not even JJ's business to tell. Only way JJ would be obligated to tell her is if JJ was to bring Lima Bean around Jack, and since he's dead, that's just not gonna happen. 

 

Say it again JJ, tell Lima Bean she's the one that needed to stop. She feels that JJ owes her explanations but when he asks her for information she goes all, "does it matter." Yes it does bitch, if he has to answer to you, then you do the same for him. Selfish cow. I think Lima Bean is Jenn's daughter and JJ isn't her son because Lima Bean is just like her while JJ seems like he's adopted or something and not related to them by blood. JJ shouldn't have to apologize, she's the one coming into Dingy's house and acting like a raving lunatic.

 

I don't blame Chad for not giving BOllie a good recommendation. He's proven to be a shitty employee and don't know why Sonny gave him a raise? Giving away free drinks, kissing AbiFail during work hours,  inviting AbiFail behind the bar, among other things. So Chad was in the right.

 

Now the writers are ready to write Theresa as an idiot. She once again says that she needs to take the conversation to another place. Where do they go? To another public place. Oy vey. I do have to agree with Theresa that I hate when a baby is called, "It" a child is not an It or a thing.

 

Here we go again with Miss Rapey and her neverending psycho fits. Please exit stage left at anytime now. Someone please murder her and she calls on the man who murdered Mike Delfino on Desperate Housewives. 

 

Good thing Sonny & Sneasel's wedding will be the last one you do RoboMar because nobody else would want someone to marry them with a stone cold, botoxed face.

Can't think of even one reason why we needed to see Abifail and her boyfriend today. Their scenes contributed nothing worthwhile to today's episode. And I love how Abifail's purse holder has done nothing but act like an ass towards Chad and then lists him/TBD as a reference. I hope Chad fires his stupid violent ass and then files assault charges. I'm tired of these rodents walking around Salem hitting people unprovoked and getting away with it.

 

Can someone explain to me like I'm Will, Abifail, and Dumbass Brady why JJ is apologizing to Paige? She had the nerve to bring up Kayla's rape to JJ like that has anything to do with him. It doesn't so STFU you psycho. He should have thrown her crazy ass out and slammed the door in her face. He needs to just remain single and celibate for a good long while. Developing a porn addiction would be better than dealing with that freak Paige. And btw, since the son is apparently responsible for the sins of the father does that also mean the daughter is responsible for the sins of the mother? If JJ is going to grow up to be a rapist then that must mean Paige is on her way to becoming a street walking hooker like her mother.

Paige was on my last nerve today.  What business is it of hers what happened between Jack and Kayla?   JJ does not owe her an explanation.  It's just not her business.  And honestly, it's not really JJ's either.   He wasn't even born when this crap went down and Jack more than redeemed himself and loved his kids.  And I loved how Paige chose not to tell JJ she eavesdropped on the conversation between  Kayla and Eve.  Keep secrets much?  She needs to just stay with her friend in the dorm and forget how to get home.  UGH.

 

Felt very bad for Eve today, even though I saw that coming a mile away.  KDP rocker her scenes.  Kudos.

I can't believe the stupid bitch fixed her mouth to throw his fathers rape of Kayla which occurred decades ago and before he was even born in his face. How is that even relevant to Lima Bean or her concern? Such garbage. Since day one she's questioned him and his intentions and nit picked his actions, its pretty pathetic. BoOllie has always been an insubordinate and nasty piece shit. The only job he's qualified for is an eyebrow boutique where they do threading and waxes. They need to stop the casual violence of people physically assaulting someone unprovoked. Just once if like to see Abby or BoOllie try that shit and get knocked flat on their ass. In the real world a stupid cocky asshole like them would be missing teeth.

Anne has used that "IQ of a salad bar" line before that's one of her go to zingers. She said it about JarJar Binks a few months ago.

 Just to let you guys know tomorrow on http://www.thebacklot.com/  they're going to reveal the TWO (supposedly hot) story lines that Sonny's going to be involved in this month while Will's away (please God let it be an affair). Who knows? Maybe the higher-ups decided to finally give Freddie something juicy to work with and give him a chance to show that he's awesome without Sneasel around. Sonny was even dressing better in today's' episode.

 

Today show proved my point: Freddie has chemistry with everybody with the exception of Guy. The scene he had with Deidre was excellent, and I'm pretty sure that was the first one he's ever had with her all alone.

Kristin's face when she heard Teresa say she was having Brady's baby was beyond scary!

I wasn't sure what was going to happen or who was going to appear after Kristen made that phone call. Yes, the henchman showed up but I was half expecting the mad scientist from Gilligan's Island (the one who did the castaways' body switching) to come in, ready to pull a baby switcharoo with Theresa. 

 

This was the first time I felt sympathy for Eve. I think having Eric there (mmmmm Eric) helped.

OMG, so true.  It wasn't her business at all.  Man I can't stand her.

I can and will continue to, then.  No, it wasn't her business and she handled finding out about it very badly.  But if I'd heard that reveal, I wouldn't know what to do with it, either.

Huh?  Wha..?  What the hell was that conversation between Paige and JJ even about??  He leaves her 345 text messages and calls, none of which she even checks until after she overhears her mom and Kayla talking about Jack being the rapist.  Then at the Pub she feels bad about him, seems to understand why he couldn't talk about it, and we GET HERE, FROM THERE - all because of a completely innocuous picture of JJ STANDING NEXT to two girls.  Just standing there - not touching, not groping, not kissing, nada, notthin, notathing.  Then Paige shows up at Daniel's place, proceeds to ream JJ out about having a couple of beers like she's Maggie, tells him she can't trust him (funny how she's the one doing the evesdropping but HE'S the one that can't be trusted), blurts out in anger that he tell her about his dad - proceeds to have the gall to GET MAD about something that is SO NOT HER BUSINESS, and then dumps him.  JJ ends up standing there without a clue as to what he did this time.  And that's what pisses me off.  They've got Paige emotionally manipulating JJ now, making sure that nothing he does is good enough, nothing he says is trustworthy enough, and no areas of his life are not up for her inspection.  Right now Paige is being utterly insufferable.  

 

And the sad thing is, JJ's sister and mother act like this all the time, so the poor guy is used to it.

 

I don't care if Theresa boings Jawn over the head on a daily basis, I love the character.  In fact, I'd love her even more if she DID do it on a daily basis.  What I don't like is saddling her with bonehead Brady.  Anne, as usual, was a twisted delight.  And I see Kristen has put in her call to the Dimera Stable of Unstable Mad Scientists!  This newest one looks like a reject from the Hair Club for Men.

 

I completely agree that Ollie should be fired ASAP, and I hope that's exactly what Chad does tomorrow.  He's way too quick with those fists, and obviously dumb as dirt.  That's proven by him going after his boss and going after Jar Jar.  And that Jar Jar, gotta love how consistent she is with only thinking of herself.  She actually has the gall to tell Sonny that how dare Will take Ari away because SHE will miss her goddaughter - and then she remembers that Sonny might miss the little tyke as well.  

When Abby and Ollie are cavorting around Salem, they both remind me of rabid teletubbies on the loose.  I find them both rather strange in every way, including physically.

 

I very much enjoyed the KdP scenes, both at the doctors office and with Eric.  And I fully confess that my KdP fandom probably has a lot to do with how much I enjoy her.  I thought Eric was a bit rude for the nicest and dullest guy in Salem to just get up and walk off when she was so sad.  They'd make a terrible couple IMO anyway.  And probably just as well, since with Paige spending the night at the dorm with Previously Unheard Of Friend, Eve Just A Bit Drunk And A Lot Sad, and JJ All Confused About Love, we have something about to happen that can't be taken back.  OH GOD MY EYES!!

 

Funny how they had Mar talking about repressed memories today.  I can think of several Days memories I'd LOVE to repress right about now.

I have a really bad feeling that they are indeed going to have JJ sleep with Eve & I am so not down with that - I'd rather have Eve hook up with Eric.

 

I did feel for Eve (I do think it's my love for KDP that doesn't make me hate Eve) - I just want her to stop messing with JJ.

 

Ugh Paige makes me crazy - I want to like her & I want her to actually use her brain - why would she believe ANYTHING that Bev says or shows her?    Bev's done nothing but undermine Paige & JJ since they got together.    And what happened with Kayla & Jack is none of her business - JJ doesn't have any obligations to tell her anything about it (especially since it happened before he was born) - Kayla is the only one who has the right to be upset about it & she forgave Jack a long time ago - I really do wish that Jack was around for this - it would make the story so much better if he was alive (can't they figure out a way to bring him back from the dead??   They've done it with Stefano multiple times)

 

I like that Chad gave Ben a bad recommendation - why wouldn't he?     Ben's already slugged him twice in TBD - why should Chad help him at all?

 

I liked the scenes with Sonny & Marlena - I enjoy Sonny so much more when Will's not around

No one in Salem really goes to work, or even seems competent at their job when they do bother to show up, but Ben really is the worst, isn't he? Even Sonny needs to admit that Ben needs to go after punching Chad. Again. 

Ben not having a place to live is so dumb, especially when there's a never ending supply of rooms above the Brady Pub. In a town where you can get a medical degree in months, it shouldn't be that hard to find a damned apartment.

 

When she's not around John, I like Marlena. I loved her and Anne sparring in the park. 

 

I must really hate Eve, because I couldn't muster any sympathy for her about the surgery, even when Eric (whose inattentiveness and judgmental attitude continue to prove that he had no business ever being a priest in the first place) up and walked away from her mid-cry.

On a happier note, every scene with Ann Milbauer is a delight.  Whoever is writing her lines are doing a great job, and she's great with the delivery.  More Ann and less 95% of the rest of the cast...oh and more Victor too!

I watched Monday and Tuesday episodes back to back and WTF did I just watch?!?

 

I am feeling just a tsunami of dislike and disdain for so many characters right now. Salem needs to clean house somehow and get rid of some of these extraneous, useless, basic bland characters.  A serial killer on the loose would be nice but I would settle for a nice cleansing fire in a pinch. 

 

My come and slash 'em serial killer list:

 

#1 with a bullet Abby - you're so vain that you probably think this post is about you. I don't even want to waste words on this chick because others here have said it all again and again and more eloquently than I could. The worst of the worst.

 

Paige - The height of tedium. If you pointed a gun to my head I couldn't make any logical sense of her thought process. How she got from 'oh, snap JJ's dad raped Kayla' + JJ photographed in Duggar style side hugs with two random chicks = we're broken up for good is a complete mystery. This must be the new math. Are we sure this girl got into Stanford University? Maybe I misheard and they said Stamford Uni or Sanford and Son (she could become a "coordinator") or something. She is an amalgamation of the worst characters on the show right now. The IQ of Brady combined with the entitlement and judgment of a Horton. Seriously, Paige sounded just like Jen in her last conversation with Dingy - How dare you keep anything from me! How dare you keep the confidence of a 3rd party and not tell me even though it is none of my damn business! Oh and BTW, we're broken up for good because of your 'lies.' Never mind that there weren't any lies. Seems like the act of failing to grant 100% access to every nook and cranny of their lives is somehow tantamount to venial sin. These chicks just have the misery gene. How can someone so damn young be so damn joyless & morose all the damn time.  JJ is better off without Lima Bean. 

 

Grimace - why is she even listening or giving credence to anything that comes out of Appalachian meth man's mouth? Just dumb.

 

Bollie - I hope Chad fires his ass. I wish someone, anyone, would file assault charges on some of these slap/punch happy fools like him and Abby. 

 

Characters that need to get gone or be wholly revamped Jen, Dingy Dan, the majority of the teen set with the exception of JJ and maybe Rory.

Theresa - I want to root for her but I just can't because that would mean her 'winning' Brady.  JL is a decent enough actor, especially when compared to the likes of Grimace, but good gracious, is this storyline unpalatable to me. They have made her so pathetic. I've got no issue with her being a golddigger. I just wish they would explain away why the daughter of rich parents acts like she has been living in Section 8 housing and off ramen noodles for her whole life. I wouldn't even be that hard. It could just be throwaway lines that her parents cut her off because of her antics and she wants to get back to the lap of luxury she once enjoyed. See. Was that so hard? I cringe everytime Theresa doubles down on her lies. I get it. She has to keep the lie alive, but frankly at this point I don't want to hear it and wish she would move on, which doesn't seem too apparent.

 

Side note, I had to LOL! about all Theresa and Anne scene changes. First they are in the pub and Theresa tells Ann she has something to tell her put can't do it in such a public place like the pub. You would think they would head off to one of their apartments, Ann's office or something. Nope. To the park. Scene of college keggers, murder, muggings (Nicole had her purse stolen there) picnics, jogging, fun time with the kids, hookers. You name it, it goes on there. Interrupted by Marlena & Eric, Theresa needs a more private place so where do they go? Deeper into the park. Theresa reveals pregnancy, hears a noise and wants to move the super secret conversation. Where? Back to where she didn't want to tell Ann her big earth shattering secret to begin with - The Pub!!! My head hurts.

 

Kristen - oh vey! CRazy strikes again. Thank goodness Oscar the Grouch wasn't in that garbage can. She could have really hurt him. This lame joke was brought to you by the letter W as in What the phuck!! Why. just Why? I didn't see the point or value in Theresa being preggers and Kristen absconding with the fetus. So, basically, this story is gonna stall and go nowhere until Kristen comes back sporting either a bump or having an actual baby in tow?? Half the fun of these stolen baby stories are the near misses. You know the fetus thief always being on the cusp of getting caught and having to navigate through tiny landmine fields day in and day out in order to bring their plan to fruition. We'll get none of that because Kristen will be gone, which will leave us with what exactly? Theresa thinking she is nuts? Brady thinking she lied again to hook him? Theresa mourning what could have been? None of that sounds appetizing on what could have been a compelling, if been there done that, front slow burner story. 

 

Ann - I like her but even I wanted to stuff rocks in her mouth during the confrontation with Marlena and I am no Marlena fan. There was a yippy dog quality about it that got on my nerves. Plus I wanted to hear what Theresa had to say.

 

Brady - Just as stupid as John guessed he would be. So not only was he open to getting back with Kristen because she told him the truth about Theresa but if she had slept with anyone else but Daniel he would have been open to rekindling what they had with the woman that raped Eric. Bye Felicia! 

 

Side note - I hate Brady's facial hair. Why must everything be so overly manicured and groomed with him. It looks like something stenciled his facial hair in with a fine pointed sharpie pen.

Perfection but perhaps problematic:

 

MBE - I wish they would write her. Kayle and not Jen should be a lead on this show but I think because Steve isn't on and in limbo they don't want to because they can't or won't give her a love interest. 

 

Nicole - Her character is in shambles but the actress is pretty flawless acting wise. Wish they would get her shit together and make her a viable lead.

 

Kate - nothing further needs to be said.

LOL over Eric walking off on Eve when she was obviously distressed and in need of kind words. It was a nice reminder of what a shitty priest he was. Becoming a man of God should involve having a compassionate heart and the ability to see when someone clearly needs help. Obviously Eric needs a LOT of work in those areas.

 

I'm not a big fan of Eve right now, but KDP was killing it in those scenes. What a refreshing change to have someone who can actually act on Days. Same goes for Clyde and Chad - think what you will of the characters, the actors are terrific at their job.

 

And can I just say how WONDERFUL it is to finally be free of the Sami and EJ Show? It was so much fun yesterday having the show move from story to story and using several different characters in the same day. Yes, some of the stories are dumb and some of the actors are beyond horrible (Jordan and Ben - please somebody recast these two), but it was so nice to see some different people on screen. And a lot of the new folks are really good. Even though I wanted to strangle Paige and Ben, I really had fun watching the show.

 

More Anne please. Kristen can go at any effing time - enough already with the crazy. Jennifer and Will need to stay gone indefinitely. Neither are missed. Ben, dude, you are so fired and you totally deserve it even though you will say it's because of Abigail. Or should I say, Abigail will say it's because of Abigail.

I may have missed it, but did Paige even consider how difficult it would be for JJ to discuss Jack/Kayla?  Her "why didn't you tell me" reaction to JJ as opposed to a "holy shit, this must be hard for you to deal with" one has me completely over her.
Now, even if JJ hooks up with Eve (which, gross!), I will be firmly Team JJ. I mean, I'll shake my head and mutter "why?" every time he comes on screen from that point on, but I'll still be in his corner.

It's to bad they ruined the potential that characters like Theresa, Eve, and JJ had.

 

I don't think getting rid of characters or actors/actresses will solve the problem.  Corday and the writers are the real problem, and even if they get new writers, Corday is not going away.

I may have missed it, but did Paige even consider how difficult it would be for JJ to discuss Jack/Kayla?  Her "why didn't you tell me" reaction to JJ as opposed to a "holy shit, this must be hard for you to deal with" one has me completely over her.

Now, even if JJ hooks up with Eve (which, gross!), I will be firmly Team JJ. I mean, I'll shake my head and mutter "why?" every time he comes on screen from that point on, but I'll still be in his corner.

I really like JJ and the actor who plays him. I feel like the kid is doing the best he can with the hand he was dealt and he's a pretty nice guy without being a saint. Paige needs to go on to Stanford and see if she can find the Perfect Man there. And good luck to her. Last time I checked, Perfect Men were hard to come by.

Actually it's not all that bad - just your typical soap opera angst with a little porn movie thrown in (JJ at Eve's door and they are checking each other out! Boom-chick-a-wow-wow!) While the writing could use some fixing, I think they are on the right track with the castings (not counting Jordan and Ben). I'm so thrilled to be past the Sami/EJ and Dan/Jennifer stuff, it all seems great to me.

At this point, I have no idea why JJ and Paige even want to be together. Early on I liked them because they had that sweet high school/early college sweethearts vibe that was charming. Plus, Paige seemed smart and level-headed and actually showed it. But now, I don't understand why they're in love (allegedly) or trying to be together at all. And this seems to be an issue with the show runners because they start off fine and then they veer into the angsty turmoil area way too quickly with not enough build up to really root for the pairing. Seriously, these show runners are astoundingly good at wrecking pairings.

 

I admit that I FF a lot these days. Although Kristen creeping out of the bushes after overhearing Theresa might be one of the funniest things of the day. Her stance was like a gorilla. It was hilarious.

 

Eve getting the bad news about her voice... KDP played the shit out of that. It's just too bad they haven't given her more of an emotional connection to her so called singing career before this. Even if we had gotten a day or two of her explaining to someone what it meant to her instead of having her go on and on to people who seemed to not give two shits about it and couldn't wait to get away from her. Let this woman emote! She's really good at it! And, dude, Eric... way to be a thoughtless jerk. "Yeah anyway... byeeee!"

 

You know Eve was distraught... she left a glass of wine behind in her misery!

 

And now there's JJ. And I just don't see much good happening here... even if they do sleep together (which I don't have an issue with) I get the feeling it will get REALLY ugly right after.

I really like Ali Sweeney, but I'm unexpectedly loving the demise of the Sami and E.J. show.  The other characters somehow appear more interesting, which they desperately need.

I don't know why they haven't looked into having her committed - her facial expressions alone are enough to put her in 72-hour lockdown. ED came back as Kristen and decided to ramp up the crazy to 11.  But I agree she's pretty hilarious and the tantrum with the garbage can was a nice bonus. Lucky her that there wasn't anything wet and nasty in that can.

Speaking of AbiFail, look at her keep looking at Chad & Grimace talk like a true stalker. Chad you can't joke with AbiFail, Grimace, & Eyelash Rafe in the room, they're stiffs. Watch AbiFail all of a sudden find Chad alluring and sexy and she'll want him back because another woman is attached to him. Not into BOllie because an ex isn't in town pining after him. 

 

BOllie looks like a cartoon character, he's tooooooo metro. Everything is too shaved and plucked. Glad Chad is pushing his buttons mentioning he deflowered Jar Jar Binks, in front of BOllie. F.Y.I. Chad, don't brag about that too much, because it's nothing to brag about openly in front of people.

Good grief, I did not want to watch JJ and Eve do it.  Ick.

 

When Rory has the most common sense of anyone in Salem...  I don't even know what to say about that.

 

I'm still chuckling about the conversation between Anne, Teresa and Marlena.  Marlena: "blah blah something"  Anne: "We'll just see about that!"  Teresa:  "I can speak for myself!  We'll...just see about that!"  Come on, writers! 

I forgot about Ben.  God.  Why Chad didn't fire him and have him charged with assault right there on the spot is beyond me.  That loser needs to go.  And take Abby with him.

*small voice* I actually enjoyed the JJ/Eve scenes. I think it's the most actual characterization we've seen for either character, and especially Eve, in a long time. And, honestly, I think CM has more chemistry with KDP than he does with TO. 

Does this make me a bad person? Probably, but I don't care. I would actually love a well-constructed (haha, yeah I know) storyline for JJ and Eve a la Joey and Dorian on OLTL back in the day. Imo there's more actual story potential there than in continuing to try to make JJ/Paige happen, as evidenced by the last however many months of their boring, contrived relationship . I realize the show is actually going to try to keep JJ/Paige happening, but where there's life there's hope.

 

Also, in FF, Kristen's creepy doctor looks disturbingly like Brady.
