Popular Post Orcinus orca December 30, 2023 Popular Post Share December 30, 2023 (edited) Since the forums crapped out again, I kept track of some thoughts while watching. These people have the ugliest furniture ever. Sorry to leather lovers but the endless sea of brown leather was ugh. Was Meri making up one of the rooms at the B&B? Those dolls lined up were creepy. Meri appears to have lost weight and is looking a lot healthier. Shedding that curly topped tumor has helped. Kootie says he didn’t break “the covenant” but didn’t that involve having Meri as a wife? Short memory, dude, you have repeatedly said (on camera) that you don’t consider yourself married to her and haven’t for years. Do you even know the definition of covenant or was it on your Word of the Day calendar? The production staff must hate Kootie. Lots of shots of him slouched on the couch, looking angry/bored and checking his watch. It was hilarious when Kootie dumped on Jeff, the one person on earth who supports Kootie and Sobbyn. Obviously, he never even read the comment. Came across, as usual, as a total raving moronic lunatic. And then tried to justify his tantrum with his “poor me” speech. Good job alienating his single fan. I certainly hope the women have lawyered up and have gotten that property issue settled. Kootie’s math is absurd. The whole “Meri has one child” thing means nothing, it’s just punitive. The minute Kootie declares something is a lie automatically makes me believe it’s the truth. Glad that Janelle is calling Sparkle Pony Princess on her superior attitude about Janelle’s choices. I will give props to Jenn for calling out Sobbyn’s selfishness. Loved the reactions when Sobbyn did her dramatic wailing exit to “take a walk”. Best line: Christine essentially saying Kootie is digging is own grave with his mouth and needs to STFU. I was pretend puking right along with Christine. Meri and Jenn cracking up at the pond scene was great. PS, where were the “six pack abs”? “I hope she finds peace because I have”. Says all there is to say about that disgusting piece of shit. That was downright cruel. Jenn and Meri chortling and Sobbyn fake blubbering at the same time was beautiful. At the end Kootie moans that his blood pressure was high and he felt sick. What, no fetal position on the floor? And after all that was said and done, he still firmly believes he is the injured party. Eat shit and die, you idiot. If I hear the “either knife in the kidney” or “sitting on the porch with my sister wives” one more time, I will shoot the TV. Popular Post mythoughtis December 30, 2023 Popular Post Share December 30, 2023 (edited) I would have loved to comment on this episode live/ but I couldn’t get to the forum last night. Robyn again looked extremely uncomfortable and obviously did not want to participate. She apologized to Kody a couple of times for comments that were shown in clips She did however call Kody on the carpet for his ‘act and performance’ quips. Kody continues to consider himself blameless. For the first time ever, Jen was a delight. She was spot on with her comments about Robyn’s behavior in the clips. She added what we all already knew- Robyn didn't spend time with Meri except for filming. I no longer negatively view Meri for her attempt to have an emotional connection online. It sounds like Kody had ghosted her in addition to the legal divorce, and that he considered the marriage over. It’s been made painfully obvious that is what happened as soon as the legal divorce happened. I liked Janelle’s comments about Christine- but I must point out that the TH in the clips are meant to be ‘their thoughts when the original clip was filmed’. When Janelle first said she wanted to ‘stay separated’, she WAS undecided about her future with/without Kody. Christine was going with that vibe. I don’t think Christine currently thinks Janelle is undecided about her future. Edited December 30, 2023 by mythoughtis 26 3 Link to comment

I've been saying this for years now, but Kootie makes up his own rules as he goes along for everyone else to follow except him. When he breaks one of his own rules he either tries to hide it or just changes the rules to suit himself and no one else. At least dictators don't claim to be following any rules and admit that they're the ones that set them for everyone else, not follow them. But not this bastard. The truly heinous thing about what he did to Meri is tell her that they were still in some kind of "covenant/spiritual marriage" and "sealed", or whatever pseudo-religious mumbo jumbo claptrap he sold on her when he had zero intentions of following through on that himself. But of course he expected HER to follow through on it. He's a double-standard creating misogynist prick. I saw through that and this is the BIG reason I never blamed Meri for looking for love online. 16 11 2 1 Link to comment
Popular Post Gramto6 December 30, 2023 Popular Post Share December 30, 2023 (edited) I too missed being able to comment live, I hope the bugs here have finally been squashed for good!! I find this series of episodes much more enjoyable that the past few years of the regular show! We are seeing more honesty from the OG's and seeing more truths (which we already suspected) about the Kooter and Crybrows. I love seeing the OG's outright laugh at Kootie!! And love their comments on CB's "dramatics"! I'm beginning to think he had snowed CB just as he did the OG3 and she is beginning to see through it. I also believe she entered this family thinking she could take over and be the Queen and everyone would bow to her wants and needs. She didn't enter "innocent" into the family, she had her own motives. Kootie fed into her plan and for a while it looked like it might work, but the deceit has a way of coming out and things exploded beyond Kooties' or Crybrows' wildest imaginations. Their selfishness and overblown egos totally blew up this family. I'd kind of like more Talk Back episodes with everyone being totally honest. Of course Kootie doesn't know what that word means so we'd just have to take him at face value... They could probably eek out a full season of just that. The only thing I'd hate is to put more $$ in the Kootie/Crybrows pot. Hopefully everyone else has their own contracts by now. They probably don't want to get anywhere near this, but I'd like to hear something about how the adult kids felt through all this. I know it would be hard because Kootie is their Dad, so I understand why they might not want to get involved. Edited December 30, 2023 by Gramto6 17 4 1 3 Link to comment

Popular Post Shelbie December 30, 2023 Popular Post Share December 30, 2023 Robyn must have been contractually bound to do this show because , to me, she wanted to be anywhere in the world but on that couch. If she’s not the queen of Kody country she has no idea of her place in the world. 23 4 Link to comment
Popular Post Meow Mix December 30, 2023 Popular Post Share December 30, 2023 I was dubious when Jenn showed up to comment with Meri, but I really liked their interaction. They seemed to be genuinely enjoying themselves laughing at Kody and Robyn's dramatics. I also liked that Jenn seems to be trying to help Meri finally connect the dots around Kody and Robyn's constant lies to her. I even saw a lightbulb moment with Meri when they were watching the clip of Kody reminding Robyn of the covenant he made with her not to string her along if he was over her. Jenn pointed out as we all have that Robyn knew then (way before the catfish) that Kody has put Meri aside, but was still stringing her along. Kody is still trying to tie everything back to the catfish when in reality he broke the covenant probably before Robyn came along. He certainly broke it when he melted down the wedding ring and then later legally divorced Meri. I really hope Meri is finally deconstructing the delusion that Kody wanted to repair their marriage. He never did. Good for Janelle for pointing out again that she didn't need Christine to instruct her on how to leave Kody. Janelle has made some terrible choices about money, but I think she handled the rest of it well. And she was far kinder to Kody than he deserved. She didn't string him along with false hope, she just said she was done and wanted to stay separated. The only reason she considers herself married to him is because she can't sort out the religious aspect for herself. But, she is clearly done. I liked that Christine and Janelle really dissected that scene at the picnic table including laughing at Robyn's fake crying. Janelle hit the nail on the head when she said that Kody kept changing the narrative to try to get control over the situation with Meri and Meri was just not having it. I was disgusted when he said that she wasn't allowed to bring up anything he had said on camera. You said it, you own it, buddy. Also, Christine was absolutely right that Robyn was being selfish when she clearly knew that there was nothing in it for Meri to stick around yet kept insisting she do just that. And one more thing - Kitty!!!! The best cameo on the whole show. 23 5 4 Link to comment

Also I really wish they would have played the clip of Kody missing Gabe's birthday when Robyn was talking about what a great dad he was when they all had covid and how he took care of them all. Love Jen - she so was all of us and could see through Robyn's horrible treatment of Meri. I am glad she was part of the show. Watching them watch clips is so much better than the show was this last season. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The only thing that would make it better is if the last part was said by Ron Howard Arrested Development narrator style. I too noticed no questions for Robyn. I don't know whether that was a stipulation of her participating or just that they couldn't find any with "nice" or soft ball questions for her. LOL Meri's a-ha moment was really illuminating. She really is quite naive. Also interesting how again Meri confirmed that Robyn would always flake on her when they did try to make plans to get together. I kinda went UGH when Jenn first showed up, but she made me regret that because she was a huge value add to Meri segment. So nice to see her laughing and giggling throughout the segment. Isn't it funny how all the wives who leave Kody lose weight, seem happier and look better than they have in ages? 10+ years of rejection can really take a toll on one's self esteem. I hope she is healing so she can move on and find romantic love. They will never build on CP. I keep noticing that Kody keeps trying to get one of the non-Robyn wives to start to build. My guess is so that they are the ones forced to pony up to put down the utilities on the property, which is a huge financial undertaking. I really enjoyed this episode and will likely re-watch. General Days December 31, 2023 Share December 31, 2023 (edited) 1 hour ago, Twopper said: I am too lazy to figure out which episode thread this belongs with so I will ask it here: at what point did Robyn make Kody make the solemn vow not to string her along if things got bad with their relationship? @Twopper, I brought this over from the Robyn thread, because they reviewed that "My sacred covenant to you" scene in the Talk Back Part 2, and I wanted to mention some of the "talk back" about it, that we got from Janelle, Jenn, and Meri. To answer your question, we can't really know, but from how Kody phrased it to Robyn, it sounds like Kody had to promise that to Robyn, before she would even agree to marry him, so it would have happened sometime during their courtship/engagement. I found it interesting that, in Talk Back Part 2, Janelle said she didn't think Kody was telling "the whole thing." After Janelle finished her thoughts, they cut right to Jenn (who was with Meri) who also felt like something was missing. Jenn said, "I feel like something else had to have happened. Like — was [Kody] already complaining to [Robyn], pre-marriage, about his relationship with like you, or Janelle, or Christine? And that was like -- and Robyn's like, 'Well, if this happens with us', like --." When she said that, Meri's face registered palpable shock and recognition. Jenn continued (speculating as though she were Robyn) "'Promise me you won't just'--" Meri interrupted. "Oh my gosh. Are you serious? I never --" In a quiet voice, Jenn said, "Maybe I'm overthinking?" In my opinion, Jenn was not overthinking, and for whatever reason, Meri needed to hear Jenn say that, to get another piece of whatever puzzle she's trying to assemble out of the ashes of her marriage to Kody. Here's a tidbit we know from either the early years of the show, or perhaps the book: Although Meri supposedly spotted Robyn first and encouraged Kody to pursue her, after Kody and Robyn started courting, Meri had enough trouble adjusting to it, that they went to therapy (at least Kody, Meri, and Robyn — I'm not sure about the other wives), even before Kody and Robyn married. Part of me wonders if Meri didn't object to the possibility of a marriage after all, and if Kody didn't bully her into therapy to make her change her mind, but that's just speculation. In the Version of the Show that Lives Only in My Head Here's what I think could have happened. 1. Meri had whatever trouble adjusting to the Kody/Robyn relationship, and they got some therapy to get past it. 2. Kody melted down the wedding ring Meri gave him, to prove (to himself? to Robyn? to Meri? to all the wives?) that Meri no longer had any claim on him. 3. Kody told Robyn what he did, and that he didn't even love Meri or didn't love Meri any more (and maybe he threw in bits about having never been in love with Christine, and how he and Janelle were more like guy friends), thinking it would prove to Robyn how true his love for her was. 4. Robyn (who was coming out of a failed marriage herself) was not as impressed by Kody's fickle heart as he thought she would be, so she said something like, "How can I marry you, when you fell out of love with/never loved [Meri, Christine, Janelle -- take your pick]? I don't want to be stuck in a loveless marriage. I just left one." 5. Kody swore up and down he would always love her, but if the impossible happened, and he didn't, he wouldn't keep stringing her along. Popular Post Granny58 December 31, 2023 Popular Post Share December 31, 2023 This was a great episode. I don't have much to add to these already insightful comments. But my 2 cents. Meri is rockin' it! She is looking great and her personality is shining. GOOD FOR HER!!!! Next, I'm really glad to see that THEY see what WE see. Sure, maybe they didn't all along, but they see it all clearly now. The shock on Meri's face, though, when it dawned on her that Kody was already over her before her married Sobbyn....I'm sure that was hard but it was necessary. Finally, I think this show has been good for Christine. She has become the person she would have been if she had lived a normal life and not a sheltered plyg. She was raised to be a doormat and would have continued to be one had this show not come along and given her experiences, exposure and outsider opinions. She's certainly a lot snarkier than when we met her, but that's okay. Basically, she's now like everybody I know. I am REALLY thrilled for the OG3 and will definitely tune in for more if available. 33 1 3 Link to comment
Popular Post Granny58 December 31, 2023 Popular Post Share December 31, 2023 Ooops, I just remembered another thought. The business about Kody's sacred covenant with Robyn, that if he loses his love for her he'll leave her, won't keep her in a loveless marriage. That's NOT what I want from MY sacred covenant with my husband. I want him to stay through the loveless times as well as the love times because, as Janelle pointed out, there's that in every marriage. If commitment is only for the good times, well, you don't need commitment for that. 13 15 1 5 Link to comment

I do not see panic in Robyn. I understand panic attacks manifest in different people in different ways. Heck, they manifest in me in different ways, but that's not what I see there. I see a drama queen who is not a good actress, doing her best to summon tears. 14 4 1 10 2 7 Link to comment
Popular Post Absolom January 1 Popular Post Share January 1 My mother had panic attacks and I see nothing with Robyn that I ever saw with my mother. Robyn seems more put on or possibly histrionic. 17 8 3 Link to comment

To be "fair," I'm sure she's upset. Whether or not they wear the garments, or follow every AUB rule to the letter, I do think Robyn more or less holds an AUB-flavored Mormon view of the world and the afterlife. To put it plainly, I think she fears Hell, because she gave her cookie to that Jessop boy with the big blue eyes (like Aurora's) before they were married. Kody was the priesthood holder who was willing to redeem her diesel-fuel smelling ass. So, Robyn wants Meri, Janelle, and Christine to hang on, so that she can be the favored wife for all eternity with Goldilocks, King of the Kidney Planet, and she can be his eternal queen. 7 23 Link to comment

I do NOT see panic in her either. I see manipulation. 6 15 1 Link to comment

Popular Post mythoughtis January 1 Popular Post Share January 1 Robyn’s not having panic attacks. She’s not panicking or anxious about watching clips. She just doesn’t want to watch them and wants to reinforce her narrative that she’s being unfairly blamed for breaking apart the family 23 9 1 2 Link to comment

I believe what he actually said was "You can fall in line or get the the hell out and they did." Nice guy a real gentleman. 11 2 2 1 Link to comment
