Well I liked this one the best so far despite the fact I don't like this  permanent Carrie and Aiden pairing.

...and I don't like that we didn't get to see Carrie meet Aiden's boys. I'd have been more interested in that than her conversation with their mother.

So 14 year old Wyatt runs roughshod over Dad? That'll be fun, Carrie. 😄

Anthony and Guissepi continue to creep me out. 63 and 27? No, just no.

On the other hand Che and the kitty rescuer person looked  appropriate together, unlike   Che and Miranda. Maybe they'll click.

Charlotte did a whole lot less maniacal shrieking than usual. She spoke quite normally at times.

It's great  Charlotte is getting back to what she used to love to do, but that Lili is in need of some guidance. I can't even remember the boy she was going to have her first condom requiring experience with a couple of  episodes ago, was it Blake? and now she's already moved on with Brady?😮Slow down, girl!

The clothes!🤩😻 😍

Carrie even managed to say something nice about her departed husband when the guy at Herbert Wexley's party asked her if her divorce was as bad as his.🌹

I hope Seema  finds love with the director guy she sold the apartment to and took to dinner with Carrie and Aiden, despite  the fact that she doesn't see him as husband material because he has actresses coming at him left and right.👫

LTW is expecting...

Carrie's buying the big apartment seen in the preview  above just when Lisette the jewelry designer  in  her old building is losing her apartment...

How lucky for her!

The clothes were the best part of the episode.

Is Carrie really going to keep the kitten?  I doubt it.

Once again Che is a good character away from Miranda. I like them at the vet’s office, and their flirting with the kitten girl.

All the kids on this show are insufferable. Every last one of them.

Is Steve buried in the backyard or something? He just vanished after their big fight.

I did like SJP's delivery of 'Where did that come from?' when she saw the kitten.

Don't recall having seen those portraits of Elizabeth Taylor or Richard Burton before but they were adorable.

I guess Carrie's panic about Big being a 'mistake' is already forgotten.

What on earth was Charlotte's getup at the meet & greet?

Really grossed out at the Anthony/Giuseppe thing.

Still not interested in the Wexleys.

I want that green outfit Carrie wore to meet Aiden’s ex-wife, except I didn’t think the necklaces really worked with it.  Speaking of Aiden’s wife … she seemed perfect for him … so, what happened with them?  Are we ever gonna find out?  Did someone cheat?  Did the wife leave because she felt he never loved her as much as he loved Carrie?

I wonder if the shoe is gonna drop next week and Carrie will end up backing out of the new apartment and staying where she is?  Will Aiden want to get married again and dump her when she says no?  Or will she move into the new place with Aiden and sublet her place to the chick downstairs (who had one story line and disappeared for the rest of the season).

Anyone else think there are too many characters in this reboot?  It used to be just the main 4 girls and friends that came in and out.  Now, each “friend” has a story arc, which IMO dilutes the interaction between the main girls.  I mean … does anyone really care about the Columbia law professor divorcing her husband, having great sex and now finding out her ex has knocked up his new woman?  I don’t!  And, what about Che?  I like the actor, but why is they still in this?  They’re not with Miranda anymore and aren’t doing a podcast with Carrie either.  They can go now.  The Wexlers can stay.  Love both of them and especially her clothes!

Why does it seem like nothing much has happened this season that I care about, except for Carrie getting back together with Aiden?  And how about Aiden in those “tighty whities”?  ☺️

I dislike all of the kids in this show. I also dislike the parenting styles of Charlotte and Miranda.

I wonder how much $$ Carrie has. The fact that Charlotte and Miranda were surprised she wasn't keeping her old apartment in addition to buying the 4 bedroom/3 bathroom place... wow. I know she's a somewhat successful writer and Big was loaded. It still boggles my mind 😅

She really, really didn't want a kid. He really, really did. He was very honest about that. I guess she just wanted him to not get what he wanted and be ok with that?

There is way too much going on in this show right now, and not a lot of it is interesting. There are way too many characters and with almost very one of them getting their own subplot, it feels like we can hardly dig into any of them in any depth. We just from one subplot to the next so quickly I cant really get all that invested in the Wexley's busy schedule and pregnancy, Seema and her new love interest, Carrie committing to Aiden, etc. Its a lot less horribly cringe than a lot of episodes, but I was mostly just waiting for something more interesting to happen.

Che is certainly a lot more likable as Carrie's friend than as Miranda's midlife crisis, but I am really not sure why they are even here anymore. When one of the women ends a relationship, that person usually just disappears unless its someone like Aiden, and Che is certainly no Aiden.

Brady and Lilly having sex is just icky to me. I know that sixteen and nineteen are not that far in age but there are a lot of developmental differences between sixteen and nineteen, not even getting into the fact that this show spends way too much time making me think about teenagers who I last remember as cute little kids having sex. Doesn't Lilly have a boyfriend? Miranda really would be an awful mother in law, I cant even imagine how insufferable she would be for the poor girl Brady ends up with. Also, where the hell did Steve go?

I know that what happens between consenting adults shouldn't be my business, but the Anthony/Giuseppe age difference is so big its pretty uncomfortable. Granted, Giuseppe seems way more mature than Anthony, but still.

I wish that we had seen Carrie meeting Aiden's sons and see her in his element. Of course the one son we meet is annoying, why is every kid on this show such a pill? Do the writers just hate kids and teens and want all of us to join them in their hatred?

A new character I do hope sticks around? That adorable kitten.

I still don’t get these people, and the writing is bad.

Carrie/Aiden:  why is Aiden too stupid to understand the rules about how they’re not supposed to be in Che’s apartment?  Why is he being written like a dumb hick?  Anyway, so it at first seemed that with being kicked out they had finally wised up to the fact that if he wasn’t going to come into her apartment, it wasn’t going to work.  (Che even said this directly.  Even Che, whose own relationship with Miranda made no sense and was a train wreck, can see it.). But, noooooo, the writers’ solution is for Carrie to buy a 4 bedroom apartment that costs millions of dollars, (from the dead husband she apparently never loved), in a neighborhood she doesn’t like, so she can have room for hypothetical future stepsons who she’s met once, who will be going to college soon, and who don’t even like her now?  Moving too fast.  Way too fast.  Again, no adult would behave like this.  Why can’t they have an honest conversation about what happened before?  It’s an apartment, not the Amityville Horror.  Something along the lines of “I know a lot of bad stuff happened here, but we built this apartment together, this is a new time, we can make it our own.” ?  Why can’t Carrie have the balls to say “look, if you can’t come into my apartment, we can’t be together,” and they break up?    Then you can have them eventually get back together after Aiden makes a similar speech to the one he made at the end of the episode, about how they are going to have problems, but they’re not the same people, and life is short, and he really wants to be with her.  As it was written, it looked like he was kind of like “you’re on your own with this apartment, babe, don’t do it for me.”  She IS doing it for him.  What is he doing?  Is she an idiot?  Was what happened before so bad, and so entirely her fault, that she’s got to literally keep in paying for it, forever?  That’s not how relationships work.  Carrie is obviously going to sublet to Lissette, so they still have the apartment when it doesn’t work out.  Just like they did with having her sublet from Che.  She will always have that apartment.  She has shown no signs about being ready to leave it, despite the voice over at the end.  It’s all about Aiden.  She was always like this with men.  The ex-wife was right to be concerned that she would stupidly write about the sons.  Although I don’t buy that she would want to have a sit-down about it, or that it would go so well.

Wexleys- surprised by the pregnancy.  Why are they introducing a baby into this show about post-menopausal women and their lives now?  How much younger than Charlotte is Lisa supposed to be?  Why is Lisa’s plot (until the pregnancy) identical to Charlotte? (Husband can’t deal with wife’s work schedule, expects wife to cater to him and kids, wife tired of it).  Is that why they had to introduce the new baby, to distinguish them?

Harry/party plot:  total cringe.  MPK frustrates me so with his whole attitude toward anyone of a different ethnic background from him.  He should stick to what he knows.   is “Jew” the only think MPK thinks when he sees Harry?  Why does the “funny” conflict have to be over Kosher catering?  They literally couldn’t think of anything else Harry, a person, might have trouble with, being suddenly thrust in the role of event planner when Charlotte started working?  Maybe literally ANY other problem with the menu, or the timing?  Why the caricatured old Jewish couple obsessed with pork?  Does he have no other friends?  Why does an event he hosts at his house have to be strictly Kosher? (Is the Goldenblatt family Kosher?  I was not aware of that.  If Harry is, he should know of a good caterer who doesn’t make mistakes).  Is this an event for the Orthodox community?  The Jewish community?  If it’s just a meet-and-greet he’s hosting to introduce Wexley to all the people he knows, (which I believe it is) then the whole thing is ridiculous and would never happen.  You either hire a Kosher caterer if it’s for a Kosher group, or, if you’re a person who happens to be Jewish and it’s a meet and greet for all of your friends and acquaintances, (as evidenced by the presence of Miranda, Carrie, Anthony, etc.) you cater it and people either eat what you serve, or they eat before they get there if they really are super observant.  (You might consider just not serving pork or shellfish if you want to be considerate, more than one faith doesn’t permit that and people are allergic).    People who keep Kosher can totally cope with attending parties which are not.  You don’t hire a kosher caterer because you’ve invited some Jewish people.  Nobody is going to obsess about how the fake pork tastes too good not to be real, or complain to other guests.  Nobody is going to serve mock-pork dumplings anyway.  This is offensive and stereotypical, especially that whining old couple.  (They’re straight out of Mrs. Maisel’s in-laws territory.) What were their names?  Stan and Marsha?  Something typical like that?  Please.

Charlotte- Victor Garber doesn’t seem into her, and Harry being this jealous is totally out of character for his nebbishy self as written (see above).  Garber just seems like a horn dog who is into anything that moves and has several failed marriages to show for it.  If they try to put Charlotte with him, that’s a big fail.  Charlotte is not that stupid.  Or is she…

Which brings me to…Lily/Brady- could see that one a mile away when Miranda asked them to meet.  They’re NOT actually cousins, and it sounds like they hardly ever see each other, especially if the last time was on a ski trip a couple of years ago. OF COURSE they slept together.  There is no doubt.  Charlotte and Miranda would have to be stupid to believe they didn’t.  Why are these characters being written as so stupid?  She was leaving his room without pants, FFS.  If I got a text that my teenage daughter was “sleeping over” at a boy’s house, I’d go pick her up.  No matter how well I knew the mother, or how long the kids had grown up together.  I wouldn’t even leave them alone in a house together.  Again, are these people stupid?  Why?  Also, is Miranda wearing men’s suits and ties now because she’s into women?  Did she always dress like that?

Nya- glad she’s having sex.  Tinder would not be for me, I couldn’t have sex with someone who just walked in my door like a pizza delivery.  (Isn’t that every old porno plot?)

Seema- so the guy IS Indian, because of course, this is MPK.  (Again, not that he can’t be Indian, but it still smacks of MPK’s weirdness about different ethnicities and his tendency to see people only on that basis).  The actress is funny, she saved this plot.  The movie the guy directed seems like a takeoff on one that was really big this year, forgot the name.  How very topical.  Indian=Bollywood in the mind of MPK.  Why can’t he write people just as people?  Why is everything with the non-WASP characters ABOUT their ethnicity?

Haven't seen yet but oh no. The tighty whities are back? After I just was happy to see last week that Aidan was wearing black boxer briefs? Why? Those are deal breakers, even if you're as attractive as JC. For me, anyway.

Was Brady not at Lilly's piano recital thing the night Big died? I can't remember.

Lilly's sort of boyfriend who she slept with dumped her.

A kitten!!?

What did Aidan think?  They would keep paying Che to stay at their place?  Rent more hotel rooms?  Aidan can't get over what happened in that apartment but apparently got over what Carrie did to him in that apartment?  Makes no sense.

It’s all about Aiden.  She was always like this with men.

It always puzzled me when I read articles that said Carrie was a feminist icon or some shit.  Her life always revolved around whatever man she was involved with.

Nya- glad she’s having sex.

And Miranda didn't want to hear it.  Just like I'm sure Carrie didn't want to hear Miranda having sex with Che in her kitchen.

I get Seema wanting to find her happily ever after but would it kill this show to have one, just one, woman be happy being single?

22 minutes ago, Rebecca berkowit said:

That never stopped MPK before.

I get Aidan's kid not liking Carrie.  If his mother knows Carrie hurt his dad it's possible him and brother's know it too.   If this show gets another season and Carrie and Aidan are still together I will be shocked if we ever see his kids. I will be shocked if we ever even hear about them.

So this new house Carrie wants to buy is Aidan moving to NYC?  Or is he going to continue to come every other week? Because if he moves does that mean his kids, or at the least the ones still at home, will come up every other week?

I agree that the writing is bad.

I see no issues in serving mock food. I mean people do it all the time with vegetarians and the whole beyond beef stuff.  MPK probably thought that the old couple was funny and was playing for laughs. It fell flat.

Miranda wore suits with ties back in the day.

The parenting skills on this show suck.

Overall this episode felt more like SATC than any episode to date.  The meeting between Aiden's ex and Carrie felt real. Aiden continues to be written as a stupid character with his refusal to even go into the apartment. Dude it was 30 years ago... LET IT GO.  Either you're with the girl or your not.

Well, as Charlotte said, she had A LOT of sex her mother didn't know about.  So did I.  I'm about Charlotte's age and I've never discussed my sex life with my mother; not when I was a teenager, and not now.   😳

What is different is more teens seem to be more open about it, probably because their parents are more open about it.  And guidance about sex and birth control, etc.  starts long before 16 when your teen is already sexually active.

Neither Brady nor Lily are first timers.

Brady is giving off some serious Screech vibes. The show has not given us any reason why Lily would be into him.

I can’t remember if I ever liked Miranda because I find her intolerable on this series. She’s a 50+ woman with a law degree and presumably some savings. Why is she still crashing at Nya’s place listening in on her sex life?! It’s so pathetic. I got the feeling that she was only half-joking about moving in with Carrie.

I’m guessing LTW is starting menopause. That “pregnant or menopause” storyline has been done to death.

MPK is really re-writing and re-visioning SATC with AJLT. I guess he can make the argument that Carrie is in a different place now (no longer the NY, selfish lady and someone who has already settled into adulthood and the things that mattered then don't matter now), but I still don't like this happy ending for Carrie and Aidan, even if I had like Aidan as a character.

No, I don’t think it’s weird but I don’t think she’s exactly okay with it either.  I do think she understands teenagers have sex and there is literally nothing she can do about it.

Seems to me Charlotte feels comfortable that she’s talked to Lily about being responsible before she had sex and Lily is comfortable talking to her mother about it.  Maybe too comfortable, haha.

I'm not ready to watch Carrie and Aiden crash and burn for a third time. I want so badly to believe that they're both older, more mature, have experienced the things they wanted in life (Aiden married and raising children; Carrie married, wealthy, and raising 0 children), and they're both now in a place where they can be happy together with all those hang-ups that made them incompatible in their 30s (including Big) now gone or fulfilled. I want so badly to believe that Aiden can keep his house in VA near his sons and  they can share the commuting duties to see each other on the weekends. I want this for them, because MPK & Co just haaaaaaad to go there with bringing Aiden back, and I don't want to watch them break up againnnnnn! But I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing them crash and burn in no time because this writing and plotting is hot garbage.

Wyatt is more than a typical 14 year old. The way he was angry at his dad for not texting immediately and he was tracking the plane? Are they implying he's on the spectrum? (Dear god no. The show is not capable of handling that well.) Or he's got abandonment issues from his parents' divorce?

And gee show, could you drop any more anvils that Carrie will keep her old apartment, and rent to the younger woman downstairs?

This.  Brady was born in 2001, if I recall correctly, and Lily’s adoption announcement was in series finale in 2004.  She would have been close to 1 at the time.  They’re probably 2 years apart at most and both in their 20s.  I guess they deaged them to have more teen angst type plot lines (which they could have done with Rose alone).

I don't remember that.  I could be wrong, but I remember her being very ambivalent about being pregnant and having children.  I thought that was why her ex suggested a surrogate (so she could skip the pregnant part), while not addressing at all the fact that she really didn't want a child.

I found out recently that a bunch (3) of my great grandmas had their last kid at 47/48, so I could see that happening, especially as LTW’s previous kid is a lot younger than Rock. It’s unusual and I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t exactly work out, though. A story about making decisions as an older mother (I mean, there are a bunch of tests you would do, it might not have the answers you hoped for) would be fair, if a bit depressing, in a show like this. Although if she’s supposed to be over 50, that would be crazy.

So, not everyone who is Jewish keeps kosher, and some people cheat on kosher at parties because they can argue that it’s not really their fault. I feel like that stupid storyline could have been way funnier and less stereotypical.

Anthony and Giuseppe are also so stereotypical. I suppose someone (apart from Lily) had to be dating someone inappropriate in age. They are trying to balance it by making Giuseppe more knowledgeable about Anthony’s supposed Italian culture, but… non, grazie.

And yes, Brady should be older than Lily and they should be 20-something. Making them younger was always crazy and this just lampshades it. If they were both 20+, this could have been cute.

Miranda is still a gigantic snob and should be pleased her kid is at least working hard at something. She’s terrified that their kid will be just like Steve *gasp*. I could see her being pleased that he might marry Lily and inherit half of Charlotte and Harry’s money, though.

Carrie is just way too rich. She can just buy a giant house with its own park in case she has step kids before selling her other place? She’s a billionaire.

And even the great Isabel Allende apparently asked her living step kids if she could write about them before writing her memoirs (the answer was mostly ‘no’, if I remember correctly) and every now and then she really shares just about everything of her life, except about themso I feel like Carrie probably should have known how that was done before anyone had to intervene.

The cool answer would’ve been ‘no, of course not, not until they are adults and only ever with their express permission’. Job done. They made Carrie look stupid and unprofessional here.

But I like Aiden’s ex way more than I like Carrie now and felt bad for her that Carrie might be mindlessly aiming for her kids to move away to Manhattan, to live in luxury, without even asking her. They are her kids as much as Aiden’s and having a great whole family relationship should be Carrie’s goal. Not just buying everyone’s love.

Nya did at least one round of IVF, maybe 2, and her husband was pushing for more. She was reluctant because she said it was so hard on her body and thought the two of them were perfect as they were and didn’t need children to be happy. She wanted kids enough to at least try IVF, which is no small commitment, and if they went that route she must have had no success getting pregnant with assistance.

I think this is what they will do. They are both older, have their own money and aren't going to have children together so why get married and move in together? I know older couples that have gotten together and kept their separate lives, too. Makes sense to me.l

Agree but Aiden should have had this conversation with Carrie. Where is his concern that Carrie would write about his kids? There was no reason for the ex to meet up with Carrie. I also don't think it was any of the ex's business about how Carrie hurt Aiden in the past. Move on, lady.

Carrie's new place was weird. The exterior looked like it was in Bay Ridge while the interior looked like it belonged on Park Ave. Did they say what area of the city this place was located?

Yeah. I mean, no offense, but I don't want baby storylines on this show.

They're supposed to be covering women who are in menopause/postmenopause.

I had a feeling he was going to get that younger singer pregnant. I'm actually curious as to how long he was involved with her before Nya discovered her. No doubt there was overlap.

I thought it was inappropriate for Kathy to tell Carrie not to hurt Aiden, and to tell her not to write about her kids. Carrie and Aiden are none of her business.

Her kids are her business. And I am glad she spoke up to protect her kids. Carrie is such a narcissist, it would never occur to her to leave them out of future writings.

Aiden is someone Kathy still cares about, which is nice. She would also be aware of how much Carrie hurt him previously. Carrie may be technically aware of some of this, but she's the sort of peabrain who last episode was ready to write off her entire marriage to Big as a big mistake just because she was having better orgasms with Aiden now. Gross.

She was right to insist her kids not be written about, at least the minor ones.  Isn't the oldest over 18?

And in the full length poster, while Brady & Lily are looking at each other, Lisa has a full wine glass in front of her.  If that's supposed to be holding "clues" to the storyline, Lisa's got a false positive on that pregnancy test.

They referred to a ski trip when Brady was 14 and Lily was 12, so there's only 2 years between them.  And the age of consent in New York is supposedly 17.

It’s an apartment, not the Amityville Horror.

Half-joking? I don't think she was joking at all.

Wasn't that room lined with sound proof cushioning? Wasn't it Andre's sound studio? She could put that back so she can sleep.

And gee show, could you drop any more anvils that Carrie will keep her old apartment, and rent to the younger woman downstairs?

Oh, for sure. As soon as I realized Lisette would need a new place to live, the bell went off.

Respectfully disagree--her kids are her business. And knowing how much the kids of famous children's writers hated being written about--Christopher Robin Milne and the child who inspired Peter Pan--this makes sense. Imagine being the kid written about by a well-known sex columnist. Wyatt would be teased mercilessly.

Carrie's new place was weird. The exterior looked like it was in Bay Ridge while the interior looked like it belonged on Park Ave. Did they say what area of the city this place was located?

Gramercy Park. Carrie mentioned the key to the park--Gramercy Park is a private park and only residents of GP Square have keys to it. (Although occasionally they will open it up to the public.)

The interior shot made it look as though the set was an actual GP apartment.

Other thoughts:

Miranda couldn't hide her contempt for the work Brady is doing at Scout. Taking of a year (a gap year) before college is a perfectly common practice in many parts of the world. And there's nothing wrong with restaurant work.

I loved Miranda's green suit. And Charlotte looked gorgeous at the meet-and-greet.

Loved the conversation between Cathy and Carrie.

Can you imagine if you told someone a story like this? An avowed single childless  woman of 29 or older moves to NYC to live the single life, on freelance writer money.

Dates a rich divorced never marrying again mogul guy on and off for ten years... he marries (and divorces)someone else who's younger, then decides 10 year girlfriend is really the one and marries her

Dies young and leaves her a multi-millionaire, maybe a billionaire.

Then she hooks up with another well off man.

all without ever having bore them children 😂

With Aidan's ex-wife entering the picture essentially telling Carrie to never hurt Aidan again, MPK is essentially making Carrie-Aidan the endgame.

At least Kathy didn't make THE face.

He's been on interviews, on  podcasts and quoted in articles saying he didn't bring Aiden back to fail 🙄

I just hope they're not so obvious and so lacking in creativity as to leave off s2 on a will they or won't they "cliffhanger" .🙄
