Nandor CLEARLY went to the Penny Pornos. And not inside Gail. Guillermo died a bit inside when Nandor pulled out the engagement ring. Was NOT expecting Gail to be a Werewolf on top of that. I absolutely cackled at the kickball game. So great.

So...is Gail a Vampire AND a werewolf now? Or did killing her cure her of being a werewolf?

Yeah, loved Laszlo and Colin's plot. I LOVE the idea of an energy vampire on a roadtrip. So much dull small talk, a mixtape with 25 "Hey There Delilahs", plus trail mix that's only for sticking in the crevices. Colin totally destroyed those artifacts on purpose just to be a nuisance, right?

I love that the Vampiric Council's website hasn't really been updated since the 90s.

I loved that the kickball scene had the music from Twilight's baseball scene.

It was interesting seeing that Colin can't really get hurt.  It seems like his mother is still alive too.  I definitely want to see where he came from.

I was grossed out when Nandor said he had sex with Gail when he was in bat form and she was in werewolf form. The picture they showed of the bat didn't help!

I wonder if Nandor will get into trouble for turning a werewolf into a vampire? That’s got to circle back and cause trouble somehow. Maybe Nadja will be forced to discipline him? I’m sure the other vampires will not want a hybrid running around out there.

I loved that they paused a beat when Lazlo said his car was taken away because he was transporting miners across state lines. They wanted us to think it was minors.

I was cracking up at all the Bob Seger references, especially after Nadja rolled her eyes last week at the thought of more Bob Seger music. Nandor Pooh Bear-ing it with a Bob Seger t-shirt on was hilarious. I love that they played Night Moves at the end with the werewolves chasing them in the jalopy.

Good episode. Nice twist with Gail being a werewolf. I was expecting Colin Robinson to drone on and on about Underworld and a werewolf/vampire cross in that movie. He was too busy doing research on energy vampires and wrecking shit getting Lazlo's car out.

I'm not regretting not watching any of the Twilight movies to get the kickball scene. Also, anyone think of Lana from Archer seeing Nadja insist she didn't hate Gail? And then she killed her. Accidentally, of course. "Death by Kickball"? Nice concept.

This episode should have been called Full Moon. Seriously, I didn't think we'd get to see so much of Nandor, and I'm still laughing about it.

Are they retconning Colin Robinson's back story? I thought they said in a previous episode that the other three met him because he came with the house, and I thought they'd been living there since at least the 1800s (didn't Laszlo mention going out west some time in the 1860s during the Jackie Daytona episode?). But I could be misremembering.

The Guide is every admin who has to deal with idiotic bosses. "Now I have to call the insurance company!"

Laslo recognizing something is not right with a pornographic book because it was never released in hardback. Apparently the Vampiric Council was using the jalopy quite recently or it wouldn't have an automatic garage door. And how was Gail able to go bat just minutes after being turned when Jenna needed several days to transition from human into a vampire, and Nadja still had to show her the ropes?

Can you kill a werewolf with a ball?  Don't you need a silver bullet?

I'm not up on vampire things so can someone please give me a lesson because I find two things confusing.  I thought that when someone was bitten by a vampire they automatically turned into a vampire. But there are always bloodless bodies strewn all over who obviously haven't turned into vampires.  Does the biting vampire have to intend to turn someone into a vampire prior to the biting?  Also why did Nandor bite his own wrist after he bit Gail? Is that part of the ritual of turning someone into a vampire?

I watch with closed captioning (husband snores) and I thought it was a typo until they showed the picture so it was even funnier to me.

Different vampire stories have their own rules, but generally a bite does not turn someone into a vampire. Usually it can happen if the vampire drains the human of blood (or in this case die in some other manner) and then give them some of their vampire blood to revive them.

There are so many different vampire rules, it is hard to keep up with them! I think having the person to be turned drink the vampire’s blood goes back to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Ann Rice certainly popularized it.

That's a good point. Maybe werewolves turn instantly? I don't know that the show really cares much about continuity, though.

When Nandor decided to turn Gail I just knew they had to cut to Guillermo looking totally pissed off. He's been waiting for this for years and then Nandor turns Gail in an instant without a thought about it.

Did you notice the Vampiric Council website has a "donate now" button? LOL. Do they want money or blood donations? The fact that they have a website at all is hilarious.

And yes, the big red button thing was hysterical too. I'm loving Kristen Schaal in this. I thought the episode started out fairly weak but it kept building and building and ended up being really good. All the stuff with the werewolves, like chasing cars and needing to take HeartGuard had me in stitches.

I have seen having to drink some of the vampire's blood, but I also remember just being bit but not totally drained can turn you.

Werewolves seem to always be a bite.

The real twist in this episode, which was hilarious, was Nandor saying "Ow!" after he bit himself. That was great.

Also Colin's joke about being on fire.

Nandor sure is flitty in his romances.  Just last episode he was in love with Meg, now he's moved on to Gail.

Gail has been on again and off again for like 40 years. He gets over her and then she comes back to break  his heart all over again. So he might "fall in love" in between those times.

I love how in the show, like in the movie, the vampires barely notice human aging. So often the whole point of vampires is that they're young and beautiful forever, but Nandor doesn't see a big difference between young Gail and the Gail whose daughter didn't get her promotion etc. Which makes sense because clearly Gail never loses her essential Gail-ness.

I love that Lazlo accidentally discovered his car/the secret room because he knew that the particular porno book was never released in hardback.  That is something Lazlo would totally know off the top of his head!  Enjoyed the scenes with him and Colin Robinson, and how many times Colin kept getting injured but shaking it off.  I do wonder what will come out of him researching about energy vampires.

We meet Nandor's "on again, off again" flame in the form of Gail the werewolf (or "were-woman" according to Nandor), who ends up being turned into a vampire at the end.  So, would that make her a were-vampire?  Have so many questions about how that will play out!

Always enjoy the petty feud between the vamps and the werewolves.  But at least they can bond over some Twilight-style kickball!

The Guide is probably going to have a major meltdown at some point, if she has to keep putting out the fires the gang causes.  Not an easy job she has!

I liked the Lazlo/Colin combination.

I never saw Twilight or read any of the books. They really play a softball game in it? This really was ripe for a great parody! I'm still laughing that Nadja kicked the ball and it veered straight to Gail's head!

I think the Guide is starting to use it. Maybe she will unleash Sire to deal with them?

Somebody has to do a screen grab of the Vampiric Council website. There are actually 2: the first one we see has the classic:

HOME | NEWS | SCHEDULE | STORE

I want desperately to know what's for sale at the store. And what the schedule is. Also, at the bottom it says "best viewed with Netscape Navigator version 3.0 or higher." {sigh} I miss Netscape. It also has a "Sign our Guestbook!" in rainbow colors down at the bottom.

The second one the Guide is showing at the end is different, it looks like a donation site. It's harder to make out but there's a progress ribbon showing around $1500 of their target goal. I guess she's trying to raise money to repair/replace the antiquities that Laszlo and Colin broke.

I had another look at it and saw that the visitor count was 53, and the contact person's name was Jeremy (have we met him?) The email address was in the same weird script that is in the Council Library (it looks like cuneiform), and the text said something like emails should not be considered as taking the place of ether. I loved the whole color scheme and also want to see what's in the store. I didn't see a URL, but I really hope the show makes an actual website for us to look through.

I am genuinely impressed that Colin Robinson and Lazlo actually did manage to get that car rebuilt and running again. Everyone getting into the car and driving away with werewolves chasing after them while Bob Seger plays us off was one of this shows best endings.

Another great episode, it started out a bit slow but it kept building and building and it just got funnier and funnier. Loved the return of the werewolves and the Twilight style kickball game, complete with the music that the movie used. I had to watch that stupid softball scene about fifty times in college as my roommate was a big fan, so that really cracked me up. I also liked Colin and Lazlo had a plot together, which even they noted is rare. And that Lazlo can of course figure out that something is wrong with a porno if its not in hardback.

Did not see Gail being a werewolf coming. Poor Guillermo looked like his soul was dying when Nandor pulled that thing out

Gail's bat form was really big and strange looking.  Not as strange as Jenna's, but nothing like the regular bats that the others turn into.  It was also greyish, like her werewoman form.  That points toward a hybrid.  I'm not crazy about 'werewoman' for some reason; 'werewolf' was already neutral.

My limited familiarity with Twilight is only from other things referencing Twilight, but I did appreciate the silliness of the kickball game.  Slightly off topic werewolf book recommendation - Sharp Teeth by Toby Barlow.

I have never seen Twilight, but I thought the game was funny. All the dog references, the shapeshifting, etc-- it's inherently amusing, even without the Twilight connection.

I've never heard female werewolves called anything other than werewolves, so I thought it strange that this show felt the need to use "werewoman," but they do so much else right that I'm just trying to let it go.

Yeah, it makes even less sense because the "were" part means "man" (thank you Professor Snape), so now they're calling Gail a man-woman, lol, which actually somehow fits with their general level of incompetence. If they needed a new word, something like shewolf would probably work better.

I'm really curious to see what the ramifications are for Gail being both a werewolf and a vampire. Now that I think about it, it might even be a clue to Colin Robinson's origins- perhaps energy vampires are some weird hybrid creature that's considered unnatural or taboo, which could explain why there are no books about them in the library.

Regarding Gail turning into a bat so quickly, the same thing happened last season when Nandor's familiar from the 1970s showed up asking to be turned into a vampire. At the end of the episode we see him get dropped off at a gas station, and then he turns into a bat and flies away.

I don't think that's really a thing - I think it's just another dumb thing that Nandor thinks. Gail herself did not say "werewoman." She said that guy turned her into a werewolf. None of the other werewolves used that term either. The vampires just think a bunch of dumb stuff, like how they have no idea how long humans live or what a Superb Owl party really is.

Everything Nadja does is gold. Any woman who has been the only female friend in a group of friends can totally relate. Dudes get all weird when another girl comes around; always expecting catfights or something.

I really hope Nadja finds a group of female vampires to hang out with. Nadja doll is excellent company (of course), but I really think Nadja could use some interaction with smart women. Maybe she and the Guide will get sick of the dudes' shit and start running the council. I think that would be really fun to watch.

Also, I think that's probably why I love the kitchen scene in Brain Scramblies. We don't get to see Nadja interacting with alot of women and that scene was such a unique interaction for her.

I'm enjoying Lazlo a lot more this season, since he's doing stuff apart from Nadja. It's given his character more goofiness. I didn't realize before how he was basically a foil for her previously. I also think she's gotten more interesting, because it's not all about their relationship.

Yeah, Guillermo and the corpse was a bit unexpected.  It might just been a one-off sight gag, but it's canon now.

Definitely cool getting to know both Laszlo and Nadja a little better by not having them joined at the hip.  Laszlo and Colin Robinson was different and worked pretty well.  Laszlo did mention that he must be getting softer in his old age (or something that) because he's always found Colin Robinson boring as fuck, but they had a fun little subplot with the car.

The corpse had its own little mini-arc, which was funny and bizarre.  First it was in Nandor's coffin, then Nadja accidentally sat on it on the couch (I think) and Guillermo said he'd take care of that.  I thought that that was the callback, then we got the unexpected shot of Guillermo and the corpse cuddled up.  Ew!
