I hear ya to a degree. There were times LVP drove me crazy because she was so bad dealing with confrontations, but I still thought the way the others treated her was OTT.

The best of the night goes to the editors/producers for correcting Crystal's insistence Sutton is 20 years older than her to 12 years. LOL. 

The fact that we're stuck with Erika/Rinna and have no Denise still sucks, but I'm here for Garcelle just holding Rinna to absolute account as a disloyal bitch who will throw a long close friendship in the trash for a single seasons worth of reality tv drama. Get her Garcelle.

I think she lives a very unhealthy lifestyle, up all night and sleeps most of the day...so rude to go to Kyle's room, eat chips, read the paper, and drink a Red Bull, (she knew what it was when she got it), she kept Kyle up half the night.  Also, when Kyle went in to check on Kathy and Kathy was so rude to Kyle!  It must be exhausting to be Kathy's sister, I see why Kyle is like she is, Kathy must be a lot like Big Kathy.

Not everyone knew at the same time.  When it came around to informing Sutton, instead of getting excited she was let in on the joke, she chose to play victim for not being informed sooner. And she blamed Crystal, the person who informed her. 

Sutton may be awkward but her tears were manipulative and they were aimed directly at the person of color who dared to think Sutton capable of being racist, saying something racist or believing something racist.  She even said that "the word racist" was the worst thing ever...worse than COVID.  I thought calling it a "word" instead of referring to the system of racism was so interesting. She's not just a "I don't see color" kind of person; she's arguably something worse.  She's a "being called a racist is worse than racism" kind of person. 

Weaponizing tears to look like the victim is a technique as old as time and she uses it because it works.  Even Kyle was susceptible to it when she said that she felt Crystal was being hard on Sutton.  I disagree.  I think Crystal gave Sutton multiple chances.  She was going to explain why "I see color" was outdated but Kyle and Sutton talked over her before Kyle, finally, told Crystal she'd let her speak.  

The next day, Crystal tried to have a conversation with Sutton about it and Sutton still made it about her.  

Crystal tried to let Sutton in on the prank so she wouldn't be left out and, instead of appreciating the effort, she was mad at her.  

She's trying to make it seem like she's a victim to Crystal's bullying so if Crystal ever tries insinuating that Sutton might unintentionally buy into a racist system again, it'll be dismissed as part of a bullying pattern instead of identifying something that might have a kernel of truth to it. 

All Sutton needed to do is actually listen to Crystal instead of acting defensive.  That's how you show you can be a mature woman about racial issues. 

On a lighter note, it cracks me up that Lisa and Garcelle are usually the two people who are punctual and on time and therefore get stuck together even with the issues between them waiting for the others.   "Look at that beam."  Heh.

I don’t understand Sutton’s assessment that she has to fight to prove she’s not racist, unless she’s showing racist tendencies. I was raised in the heart of the Bible Belt and the racist around there are like Mario after he eats the mushroom, so I know them well. With that said, I don’t feel that all white people have to show me they’re not racist, because I don’t assume all are. I would, however, wonder why you’re trying to prove it and then that would lead me to think more of it. If she can’t be herself and not feel like she looks racist, then that says a lot.

To be clear, I am NOT calling Sutton a racist. But many of us white people, and i am a 51 yo white women, have blind spots  when it comes to race. I really am of a generation that said, “I dont see color” and thought we were enlightened. The thing is, this negates the experience of people of color. It denies the reality of their world. Not seeing race is a privilege they dont have.

    How did i learn? I shut my mouth and opened my ears when my friends who were Black or Asian talked to me about race. I didnt immediately assume they were calling me a racist. I BELIEVED them. Sutton, i am not angry that you said it. I am angry that you didn’t really listen.

I was a bit taken aback to see them filmed in the morning minus makeup or glam squads, kind of a la RHONY.  And EATING breakfast... except I did notice Rinna’s plate was clean and empty.  The food always looks SO delicious and so much is left untouched.  Hopefully the camera crew get to enjoy the leftovers.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m hoping the race thing isn’t going to be the main drama theme for the HW franchises this summer.

I'm on a forum that is primarily black and the comments are very interesting about Asian racism towards black people and it makes me wonder if Garcelle will school Crystal on that? Not saying that's true, just saying that when celebrities and politicians talk about the terrible hate crimes, the comments are very interesting about racism from Asians.

I don't like Crystal at all.  She could've handled the race discussion with Sutton much better than she did instead of making fun of the "see no color" comment.  I'm in Sutton's age range and that was meant as we aren't racists, we believe in equality.  I'm smart enough to know that it's the wrong thing to say now, but I wouldn't jump down someone's throat for that.

Except Krystal did not call Sutton a racist on national television. She was having a conversation with Kyle, Sutton chose to insert herself into it by snapping rudely that this is where she doesn't want to go, she will not speak about race, etc. Krystal kept calmly trying to get her point across while Sutton was all "that's not me.  I don't think about race", which is when Krystal asked her if she's that person, who claims to "not see color". I'll have to rewatch the scene again then!  Admittedly, I was multi-tasking while it was on. Thanks for that.

Doing the rewatch now of this episode and I see that Crystal explained it well and apologized for the way she came at it so right -- seemingly Sutton should've been over that "you're one of those girls" (which is what I reacted to).

I was curious about her too and did a one second google on her.  I never knew that she and Kyle and half sisters (Kim is Kyle's full sister)  and Kathy's dad was of Italian decent.

I'm chalking it up to Covid: everyone , including film crew staying in the woods of Tahoe.   While leaving for dinner they were complementing each other on their appearance and Kyle said something like  she "didn't remember it (looking camera ready) being so hard" and I could totally relate.  Not the camera ready, but doing hair/makeup and putting on clothes that weren't yoga pants and running shoes, lol.   Another side effect of a year of Covid.

There was nothing malicious and no intent to keep it from Sutton, she's just so fragile and insecure that she turned it into an issue about being kept out of it.  As someone else noted, Kyle was also unaware of what was going on but didn't feel the need to turn it into drama.

That's a case where I felt like editing wanted us to hear it. In other words, in other seasons, maybe the editors wouldn't have included it (mostly because who cares - yes, we know you are rich). But obviously they are setting up the Erika plot line by making sure to include those comments.

Kyle sure got her new nose out of joint when Garcelle talked about Paris.   Kyle is such a delicate little flower.  What Garcelle said was nothing, no big deal, Kyle's family wasn't insulted. These Beverly Hills ladies wouldn't last a day with the other franchises.  Oh they're nasty, especially when they gang up on someone, but without their pack, they are pretty wimpy.

It was interesting that Garcelle brought up the Paris Hilton always on her phone thing, and Kathy and Kyle explained the reason why, when I could swear I saw articles addressing that very topic a few months ago. In fact it could very well have been right around the time this was filmed. Did Kyle and Kathy give Paris a heads up that it had been put out there in front of TV cameras, and the family decided to get ahead of it?

I still can't get over Sutton attempting to spin the double-prank into a mean girls exclusion thing, particularly when the queen bee of the show wasn't in on the joke either.

Lisa and Garcelle commented they're always on time because they had to be, as actors. So what's Kyle's or former model Door-it's excuse?

I think the Sutton/Crystal thing is hard to parse because Sutton's white tears/fragility and bullshit around "racist" was her first impression, but Sutton is also just generally anxious/awkward and FRAGILE about almost EVERYTHING. Her souther belle etiquette shit creates tempest in tea pots constantly, it's the only way she can regain her sense of footing is when she's called out rightfully or not, to just say the person is victimizing her by being inconsiderate/impolite/mean.

But the way the episode played out, was that Crystal seemed to be more intolerant of Sutton's pretty obvious anxiety disorder than she was at the racism, but almost certainly they are interpolated in Crystal's mind, not unjustifiably so. I did love when Sutton insisted that she was an adult woman and even Kyle was like well then ACT like one. I can empathize with that particular insecurity, but as an adult you can't constantly make your own insecurities everyone else's problem.

I do feel like the rest of the cast hasn't forgotten that Sutton/Garcelle were aggressively pro Denise (Dorit was passively so) and while they don't want to fux with Garcelle they are more than happy to do so with Sutton, since this is increasingly productions go to for a storyline on all the Real Housewives franchises.

I'm not sure, only because the only two to have a beef with Sutton so far had been Crystal and Door-it (at least before she made a melodrama out of not being let in on the joke immediately. The thing that wasn't even what she was arguing. Dorit was saying she spent so much of her life outside of America she is completely unfamiliar about Southern stereotypes, aka redneck/racist/inbred.....she was actually playing into Sutton's victimhood, and Sutton wasn't hearing it. Well from trailers we know she's gonna get into it with Erika too (as they have before), I think once Erika's divorce blows up next week that will become the main storyline, but had that NOT happened? I can imagine Sutton is a situation being the main storyline was the plan.

I'm beginning to think Kathy is bat shit eccentric, (I would say 'crazy' but only poor people are crazy, rich people are eccentric) but I'm totally here for it.  She put ear drops in her eyes, omg.

Garcelle looks ridiculous in that blue wig, it washes our her color.  She also looks ridiculous in her space cadet outfit with that bun on top of her head, in her talking head.  Whoever is telling her she looks good, really hates her.  I'm starting to find her obnoxious and rude.

Kyles tagline:  “This town is a game of chess, but no one’s taking this queen down.”  Methinks she is giving LVP the bird!

If this is Suttons's season to get hazed, she better buck up.  All the tears and paranoia ain't gonna cut it. 

I already despise Chrystal, just another big mouth know it all.
