Being perpetually late can be an anxiety symptom, or it can also be a power trip. If it’s anything like they graduation where Robyn smirked about being late, prob some of both. I have a sibling who does this. If they’re not in control of the situation AKA have to work with everyone’s schedules and can’t set times or rules themselves, whether it’s just something like Sunday dinner or something bigger like family vacation, anxiety goes through the roof, they’re late, and it’s a constant fight.

Dollars to donuts, Kootie's lateness 1) is a power trip;  I bet he hoped they would delay proceedings for him and would give a rousing cheer when His Highness and the Dark Queen finally arrived and 2) shows his family how little they mean in the grand scheme of things.  Chronically late people are, for the most part, just self centered and rude; they are the center of the universe and screw anyone who says they are inconvenienced.  I  have no tolerance for that crap.

Well said @Orcinus orca! Being late is rude and shows little respect toward the one(s) you are supposed to meet. There's virtually no excuse, unless there is an actual (medical) emergency in your family or if you have an accident on the way.

In most instances, it simply has to do with ill preparation. Make sure all is ready the day before, and plan more than enough time for traveling. (Yes, it could mean killing a few hours nearby which is highly preferable over being late)

And yes, it could be Robyn's fault, but it wouldn't surprise me if Kody was in no particular hurry either!

Of course Kody was late.  He no longer has his trained valet (Christine) to prepare a wardrobe of clothes, perfectly pressed to his liking, and carrying it all around for him to choose from at the last minute. He now has to either train Robyn, or pre think and pre plan for such things.

I'm done blaming Robyn, not because I think she's Little Miss Innocent, but because Kody is a grownass man.

If/that he lets Robyn screw up his relationship with his kids, that is on him. I'm not giving him an inch of wiggle room on this. It's well past time for him to man up and remember he is the father of eighteen offspring, not five.

There's no excuse for being late to your daughter's wedding, especially when it's held in your own town -- unless someone else just as close to you (parent, spouse, other child) is dying at that moment.

It seemed to me that an "unlisted" video on youtube was the property of the creator and the decision to share it publicly would be up to them. So I said I would not have posted it.

Goodness, how very difficult it must've been for Kody to not be the center of anyone's attention for the duration of Gwen's wedding and reception, and for no one to notice Robyn as she wandered around, holding back pretend tears, hoping someone would ask her if she was okay.  It must've been torture for those two narcissists.

I find it a little mind blowing that none of Robyn's five kids went to the wedding. Breanna and Aurora actually told Gwen that it wouldn't be a "safe space" for them. WTF did they think was going to happen to them? Robyn really did a number on those kids, creating that wedge between them and the others. And why not bring Ari and Saul? I'm sure they would have wanted to go. Showing up two hours late with none of their kids just made it look obligatory.

This is what I suspect. The Browns used to be AUB, which is a pretty conservative/fundamentalist cult. I don't think AUB beliefs allow for gay marriages or being gay or trans in general.

Kody made plenty of comments during the show which tell me that he is still pretty conservative in his thinking, particularly when it involves women or relationships. So, I don't think he really approves but he knows he cannot voice it because of all the backlash it would cause.

I remember in one of the earlier seasons, they talked about their views on homosexuality, and they came across as open to it. Specifically, I remember Kody saying that with so many kids, the odds were good that some of them would be gay. They (I think Janelle) also mentioned their "gay friends at work." lol But I felt like their, and specifically his, openminded-ness was motivated by jumping onto the same sex marriage movement to get polygamy legalized.

This is what she always wanted.  She has tossed so many low-key passive-aggressive remarks towards her beloved sister-wives over the seasons to make sure they knew that she was HBIC from day one.  And her constant couch-interview tears were another manipulation towards her goal.  It really is the cat's pajamas that she ended up with the angry, moody, cranky, pouty grand prize of Kody Brown.  Well played, Dark Queen!

I'm still confused regarding what he was late to? She said he was two hours late and that the reason he was not in any pictures at the reception (at the bar) was because he was late. Presumably this means that they had the wedding in another location prior to the bar reception. So he made the ceremony but then was late to the reception?

This would also solve the problem of photos being taken.  Kody probably wondered if he would be included and decided to take the low road of just showing up super late to his own daughter's wedding in order to not allow Christine to snub him during picture time.

And you'd think Kody and Robyn would want The Tenders to come along to use as buffers, or to use as a reason for them to all bail early on the reception.

As someone who comes from a family of toxic passive aggressive game players, I would not be in the least surprised if Robyn has been telling her children that all the Browns want nothing to do with them.  If she brings the kids with her, the others might be excited to see them and go against the narrative that she has been building.

She effectively did that when she told them that the other kids and mothers didn't want to have Thanksgiving with them, and again when she intentionally (IMO) misinterpreted what Christine meant when she said that she wasn't interested in working on her relationship with Robyn. Robyn goes running off to the confessional cam claiming that Christine wasn't interested in having a relationship with her or her kids. EVERYONE knew that Christine was talking about the adults (parents), not the kids. So not only did Robyn's kids probably eventually see that, but I don't doubt that Robyn went right home and reported that to them - which would explain why the kids were so awkward, standoffish, and miserable looking at Christine's backyard "going away party." And that's just what we were privy to. Imagine what goes on when the cameras aren't there.

Kody is an awful father and was an awful husband for supporting Robyn in this decisive behavior- I don’t say “allowing” because Robyn is an adult. But Robyn came into a plural family, she chose to have additional children with Kody, her younger two are biological siblings to all the OG Brown kids and her older three were very little when they joined the family. I see no reason why they wouldn’t want to see the extended family at Gwen’s wedding when they LIVE in the same city, unless Robyn/Kody have been stewing since the separations. I don’t expect all the kids to be best buddies, but given general social trends, they would’ve wanted to go and catch up with at least some of the siblings.

I heard it mentioned somewhere that 2 of Robyn's older kids were travelling.  I wonder if they are paying their bio dad a visit as he is reported to be desperately ill with leukemia.

That doesn't explain the absence of the other 3. Robyn apparently offered the explanation that she didn't think the tenders would be allowed in the "bar" venue.

Did she not think that Truely would be there? And does she not have a phone to check?

I didn’t know that about their bio Dad. That’s got to be hard. If they were visiting him that makes sense, but I think people would LEAD with that “they would’ve loved to come but they were visiting an ill relative”(if they wanted to respect their Dad’s privacy).

Where did they think they, and Truely (if she entered their minds) would be? When they arrived 2 hours late it didn’t occur to them to either have Breanna bring Solomon and Ariella, or one of them go back home, maybe 15 minutes away, and bring them? Siblings are not normally counted in a “no children” wedding reception, they are included in the festivities.
