Because they focused on just a few couples, there was actually a lot deeper look into their (non)relationships.

Geoffrey and Varya:  She didn't want to give a firm answer right now, so he got scary aggressive looking and made her ride with him to the airport while he made verbal potshots at her.  He was done begging her and gaslighting her and just kept repeating "I gotta go" when he thought it was useless to keep trying to get her to change her mind.  But then - when SHE wavered - his attitude was "Nope.  I'm leaving now.  You hurt my feelings, so I'm gonna run away to make you feel bad."  IMO, the alternative behavior was he would have stayed, gotten rid of the camera crew, taken her to a hotel, and beaten the living daylights out of her.  And made it her fault.  She's lucky.

David and Lana:  Maybe the private investigator was being paid by TLC, so his real reports went to them and then the PI told David what TLC said to tell him.  Maybe the PI did find Lana (which is why he knew she was a scammer, which appears to be quite the cottage industry in Ukraine).  Maybe it took a few weeks for TLC and Lana's agent to haggle a price for her actual appearance.  Maybe they agreed on a price, at which point she agreed to meet David if he came back to Ukraine to meet on the agreed-upon Friday.  Maybe on Thursday, Lana and her agent balked and wanted more money.  Maybe TLC figured the "Lana stood him up" scenario had been done too many times, so they haggled a new price.  Maybe we all spend too much time wondering about this.  But - for sure - she is NEVER coming to the US to be with David.

Ash and Avery:  If Avery doesn't get on that plane and block Ash from all her SM communication platforms before the plane takes off, she's a fool.  She knows him to be an incompetent gaslighting liar whose only true goal in life is to get to the US.  She seems to have displayed some common sense and objectivity.  She can do better.  Like staying single would be better.

Rose and Ed:  I was so proud of her.  It did seem a little strange that someone who had just had her first plane ride a few days earlier seemed confident enough with air travel that she was going to go to the airport to see if she could change her ticket.  There's usually a fee with that; I hope TLC helped her.  Ed's behavior towards her had gotten to the level of emotional cruelty.

One thing I've learned this season.  I'm going to be careful to not form early opinions of any of the cast members in future seasons.  TLC really yanked us around this year.  Except for Yolanda.  She's been an idiot from Day One, and there's NO WAY she can dig herself out of that hole.

And WTF?  Stephanie cannot tell her mother who has taken care of her all her life, because her mom may disown her???  Based on Stephanie glowing opinion of her mother, she wouldn't be that type of mom to accept her daughter for who she is.  But I don't believe Stephanie is Gay or Bi or even sexual at all.  She is a cold piece of work.

And her meltdown when Erika told her of a past gf that hid her relationship with Erika, shows how self centered Stephanie really is.  Run Erika she is not worth it.

THIS. Highlight of the season to me because he’s so disgusting. He still has no clue how each thing out of his mouth was more vile than the last and yet he believes she needs to calm down. Bonus for whatever "chat site" David is on is that a bunch of other delusional losers will see this and think that, they too, are really talking to a Lana for $4.99 a minute.  This one easy opportunity could be great for this business.  Whenever a family member says "but that's a scam" they can point to David meeting Lana for like a few hours.

I was very surprised by that, too.

Props to Rose for hightailing it out of there after speaking her mind to Ed. I feel like Ed has gone through life using his medical condition to make excuses as to why women aren't interested in him. No Ed, it's not what you look like. The simple truth is that you are a vile man who wants a living blow up doll to satisfy your needs. Rose actually has her own culture, a brain, feelings, dignity, and needs of her own. What a blow Ed was dealt when his fantasy came crashing down around him. Good on you, Rose, some things are just not worth it. 

Lana may be "real" but she's a scammer nontheless. No one, and I mean no one, thinks they are "dating" anyone through a pay to chat site. There are roles people play on those sites -- dominant, submissive, bad girl, girl next door, slut, weekend fling, girlfriend. Lana has been playing the "girlfriend" role for 7 years for this idiot. The more they chat, the more $ is made. It's that simple. 

Stephanie is so awful and selfish. Erika deserves better. As some of us mentioned in the live chat, it's as if these 90 Day'rs think that their "love" interests never even had any sort of life before they met. Everyone's got a past, get over it. 

Geoffrey and Ash probably toss over the Monopoly board if they aren't winning. Actually, they are constantly losing at the "Game of Life" anyway. There's a seething rage in both of them that is unsettling. 

I'd like to give a shout out to the real winners of the show -- Taj's dog, the hotel clerk, the translator, and the PI. The PI couldn't give any more fucks about David's situation if he tried. The hotel clerk is like "oh, here comes another one!" Also shout outs to past folks like Ash's florist and the restaurant person in Kiev. These side players really are the best and I love when the producers break the wall and talk to them.

Stephanie said she would find another way to whatever city the airport was in (Adelaide?). What was Erika supposed to do, say that she'll come back and give Stephanie a ride after getting all weird and screamy and pottery throwing? Stephanie's a big girl, she offered before Erika said anything. That's completely different from just ditching someone and taking off without a word, which is what it seemed like Ash was doing. And even in that case, as rude as it would be, Avery is also a big girl and I'm pretty sure she could have navigated the Uber app or called a taxi. It's not like either of them are being abandoned on the side of a mountain hundreds of miles from civilization.

That whole scene had "Look what you made me do" all over it.  Geoffrey, you have known each other ten days, you have a criminal past (plus more icky stuff) that you did not disclose plus those awful nipple tattoos.  She said she was not ready and you sulked like a four year old who had his toy truck taken away.  Then took potshots at her in the van.  That is you reaction to rejection?  Yikes.

Ed - so you treat her like the poor relation and are stunned SHE pumped the brakes AND called you out?  Loving it that these men are learning, why yes, we ladies have standards.

Ash is still the most troubling (and that is saying A LOT and yes, it is debatable.)  But his reaction to Avery was stunning.  Calling her heartless, cold, etc - then he gets pissed when she wants her own room because now he can't brainwash her with awesome sex.  Hey Ash - allow me to let you in on a little secret:  When you verbally berate and diminish a woman, they ain't exactly in the mood for the boom boom.

Very similar.  But Stephanie was at the AirBNB, not on the side of some road in the dark.  Stephanie is quite capable of calling for a taxi or a shuttle.  I suppose Avery could have done the same, if she could have figured out who to call (find a number) and find cross streets to tell them where to pick her up.  But it seems more dangerous at night in the dark on your own, than safely inside of wherever you are staying.   Hopefully this was just drama for TV, because for both couples it was really rude and inconsiderate.

I think Taj deserves a mention - what a cutie!  While I was watching that scene in the wine bar, all I could think was:  "Avery, please....do NOT come between a mom and her son.  You will lose."  I am glad she dialed back the moving Taj to America talk.  Cause he ain't leaving Australia for good, unless he is 18 and moves on his own.

Uber is Uber, I use it in Paris and I don't speak much French so I am sure Stephanie could have managed an Uber to the airport.

Stephanie told her to get out, broke up with her, and broke up with some random pottery in the room that she's gonna have to pay for when she checks out - I don't think Erika is under any obligation to give her a lift to the airport, especially if Stephanie immediately offers to find her own way there. That was an attempt at manipulation from Stephanie: she puts on a bit of a whine and says "I guess I'll find my own way to the airport." Erika didn't fall for her little passive aggressive manipulation game and good on her. 

I don't see people saying that Ed should have taken Rose to the airport to change her ticket - Rose was a big girl, got herself a ride in the hotel shuttle, and found her own way to the airport. Why should Erika have to shuttle Sad Sack Stephanie and Her Illness around? Stephanie was pretty clear about telling her to get the fuck out. Erika just took her at her word.

Yeah, if David thought he came out looking good in that transaction with Sergei, he is dead wrong.  Sergei looks like someone who could have David "taken care of" if he wanted. 

David looked like a moron, "you, sir, are fired ". Did he think that sounded cool?  It sounded like something from a 1920s movie, like the first talkie. 

And then be couldn't even get up from the chair smoothly.  He looked like a giant dork.

Stephanie would have used any time with Erika or associated family members to make drama so she could be the center of attention.  Erikas parents live like hours away, right?  Why would they drive an hour to take princess perpetual victim Stephanie to the airport? 

She is nearly 30 years old and the number of things that she cannot manage makes me think she will live with her mom right up until the day they push her off to a husband.  She cannot manage medication by herself and she can't manage airport transportation by herself. 

She is in a hotel, in a country where everyone speaks English.  At nearly 30 she is useless and helpless.  

Ash was going to leave Avery at that dock, no doubt in my mind, but she hadn't just thrown a plate after her s/o expressed a secret fear to her that was so painful she hadn't brought it up before and Stephanie proceeded to make it all about how wronged she had been. 

So, not only are those apples and oranges, but if ash had left her there I would expect Avery, an adult woman, to figure out a way back to the hotel and then to the airport.  I wouldn't have said that ash had to send his brother.

I think it's because Sian doesn't want to upset ash and because she seems to still have feelings so she tiptoes around the truth for now and hopes it's enough to send Avery packing without upsetting ash.

She could barely play the role she was given to play and glanced directly into the camera during the hug!

David wants her to be "Lana" so I don't think he is going to ask very specific questions about their "conversations"

Bonus for whatever "chat site" David is on is that a bunch of other delusional losers will see this and think that, they too, are really talking to a Lana for $4.99 a minute.  This one easy opportunity could be great for this business.  Whenever a family member says "but that's a scam" they can point to David meeting Lana for like a few hours. 

Yeah the person on the other end can be anyone or even a bot.  The company contracts models for the pics.  David told "Lana" he was coming back to Ukraine, TLC got wind of this and notified "Lana" on the chat site with a cash offer, "Lana" notified the company, the company contacted the model playing "Lana" and voila.

She is in a hotel, in a country where everyone speaks English.  At nearly 30 she is useless and helpless.  

Ash was going to leave Avery at that dock, no doubt in my mind, but she hadn't just thrown a plate after her s/o expressed a secret fear to her that was so painful she hadn't brought it up before and Stephanie proceeded to make it all about how wronged she had been. 

So, not only are those apples and oranges, but if ash had left her there I would expect Avery, an adult woman, to figure out a way back to the hotel and then to the airport.  I wouldn't have said that ash had to send his brother.  

To me it's not about her being able to figure out a ride. It's just good will. No promises they will say goodbye still as a couple.

I think it's because Sian doesn't want to upset ash and because she seems to still have feelings so she tiptoes around the truth for now and hopes it's enough to send Avery packing without upsetting ash.

Stephanie/Erika:  This week just proved my theory:  Erika came out to her family a long, long time ago.  

I think Stephanie's look of horror when Erika confessed the 10 year relationship in which she was the "secret' was Stephanies realization that the idiot just blew that coming out to her parents storyline. I mean, you can only be upset at being the secret if you aren't also hiding the secret.

But hey, this gave Stephanie the chance to end it, like she's been waiting to do the first time she saw Erika.

Geoffrey/Varya:   Did they share the same Nice n' Easy bottle of dye this trip?  Both of them look like their hair doesn't get dyed by a hairdresser.  Good decision, Varya on the marriage thing. 

Avery/Ash:  The rest of this is just perfunctory for Avery waiting for the contract to be over.  I think she absolutely HATES Ash.  HATES him.   How did someone who seems so rational, like Sian, end up marrying Ash? Also, Avery is pretty but she needs to stop with the eyeliner on her lower lids.

Rose/Ed:  Good for her.  But a true punishment for Ed would be to live the rest of his life having to hear her God awful monotone voice.

Dave/Ukrainian:   I didn't believe this storyline from the beginning.  Didn't believe he spent the kind of money he did w/o ever meeting.  I believe it's more likely their relationship just started and they either scammed to get on the show or TLC lied about the story.

Kudos to TLC and David for stringing us along this pitiful season....

NO one thunk early on  that “Lana” was an actual person who would be paraded out for us to ooh and ahh over....

Get “Lana” on the RV....ratings gold!

Wonder how Geoffrey would have treated Varya if there was no camera crew and field producers accompanying them....he gives off a vibe of wanting everything done his way...his control...his ideal gf, wife, mate.

He doesn’t want Varya to come to the US on his dime and then seek her career aspirations if it isn’t in Knoxville.

Varya  is one of the more likable cast members of 90D and hope her TLC connections can get her a professional boost.

It's totally legitimate and understandable for a single mom to want a relationship. The right man could help to ease a lot of the burden. (But pursuing something internationally seems more problematic and expensive.)
