My mom's insurance didn't cover a tetanus shot or the chickenpox/shingles vaccine. We had to go to our CVS/Walgreens for those and even those had waiting lists. We'd never experienced that before. I hate healthcare here in the US.

I don't know about tetanus, but the shingles vaccine is very expensive and even my parents' excellent union negotiated insurance wouldn't pay for it. They got it after my uncle got shingles and they saw how bad it is. Had to get on a waiting list at CVS.

Let Asuelu serve as a warning. Use condoms on vacation. And if you still get pregnant by a simpleton and decide to keep the baby, ditch the simpleton.

And definitely at least learn how to use birth control if you do keep the simpleton so you don't have another baby. Kaylani really did so much wrong here.

My friend got very sick from the Shingrix vaccine. Paralyzed, brain fog, numbness, really bad stuff. I’m not rushing to get it before a longitudinal study is done.

Thank you, I really appreciate that.   Very scary prognosis, especially since I'm relatively young.  I never ever ever in a million years saw this coming.  I was bulletproof for decades.  I should have been killed five or six times in sports stuff, climbing stuff, bicycling crashes, and I dodged bullets year after year, so I was shocked when the doc told me my results.

You're young and fit, you'll recover in no time! Even my creaky old man was only out of it for under a week, needing help to get dressed and stuff.

And he couldn’t find anything for the YEAR AND A HALF he was in Brazil!

paul should be damn near fluent in portuguese at this point, which would have certainly aided him in finding work. i'd kill for such a chance at language immersion (but definitely under different circumstances). he's so useless

Asuelu does seem to suffer with a intellectual disability. He can’t help that. I fault TLC and his wife for exploiting it.

Not sure, but def on the low side. I wonder how much schooling is required in Samoa? He can grasp some thing but clueless about other. It seems more than just culture

Dang, she really screwed up her leg good. My husband had a similar injury many years ago. He broke his leg very badly literally just walking in the woods and falling. he had surgery, a metal plate put in, PT, then the metal plate taken out. It was rough but he's much better now and is a chef so works on his feet all the time. Hopefully Tanya will fare the same

Thank you for this!  I’ve been lazy getting mine (Gotta go to Walgreens) and then Covid hit...maybe I’ll keep waiting a little longer.  I mean, I’ve heard shingles is bad but....

You can temp, Tania. You can sit in an office and answer the phone or stuff envelopes or do data entry. Get over yourself.

Exactly what I was going to say. Bar tending generally isn't an older persons game, nothing wrong with it but it is tiring to run around like that at 40 plus.

I had the (2 part) Shingrix vaccine and just had some arm soreness, but it went away fairly quickly. One of my sons got shingles at 35 on vacation in Hawaii.  I hustled to get that vaccine ASAP after witnessing his suffering.
