Let's be honest, Carly is nowhere near attractive enough to be TBette.

If a total butter face like Andi can be The Bachelorette, then Carly is definitely pretty enough. I think Carly looks like a younger, prettier Jane Krakowski. And if she were picked, she would rank ahead of Andi, Ashley, Deanna, Desiree, Meredith and Jillian in the looks department.

But that's how I see it.

I never thought Canadian Jillian was homely; like Bugs Meany said, she just looked different. I'd say Dentist Ashley was the most unlikely Bach'ette, looks-wise -- she is the plainest one so far (and one of the successful ones! Go figure!)

I think being on the plain side may actually be a blessing for the Bachelorette. Everyone knows that the real prize isn't getting picked by the Bachelorette anymore, it's getting to be the next Bachelor. Being picked is only a prize if you're madly in love with the lead and the plainer the lead is the less likely it is that the winner is only infatuated with her looks. Everyone "falls for" a drop dead gorgeous lead and they obviously aren't all mentally compatible.

Hmm, does Reggiejax prefer blondes? :-D

I don't know who the next B'ette will be. Usually someone who makes it pretty far before being un-rosed, but this season it's not going to be Ashley I, for damn sure, and I doubt Becca for previously stated reasons, and I don't think Kaitlyn fits the general profile they've gone for.

I really wish they'd expand the pool so it's not a constant recycling of someone else's castoff. Like isn't there some fame-hungry - but not obviously so - up and coming singer or actress or former Miss America-runner up who's now a pediatrician or something who they could talk into it?

No way! Meredith has been one of the most gorgeous B'ettes. She is a natural beauty and didn't rely on makeup and botox like others...*coughemilycough*. And the fact that she looks amazing now is a testament to her naturally good looks. I would say DeAnna, Meredith, Jillian (in an unconventional way) and Des have been the prettiest ones just because they are all natural. Trista and Ali the fugliest. I still have anxiety when remembering Ali's awful extensions and pee colored hair. Ashley is cute and Jen Schefft too. Emily is manufactured to a T and Andi is just bleh.

I still think the B'ette gig is Britt's to lose. Carly needs to worry about fixing those Sharpie eyebrows before anything else.

This prettiest talk reminds me that I thought Juelia, while attractive, was the most "normal" and thus most "plain" b-ette this season when compared to the others. She was just more ... MIDWESTERN looking. And I say that as a Midwestern gal myself. Therefore, she had to be sent home. Chris can find a dozen "wimen" who resemble Juelia in any Iowa saloon. Pretty, nice bone, strong, Nordic, large framed so as to carry lots of kids and milk pails from the barn. At the same time.

I'm not slamming Juelia by any means. It's just that I thought she was just not flashy enough to keep going in this contest.

Don't hate me because I'm Swedish!

Reggiejax, Britt can turn herself blond in an instant if you just say the word.

Though this gentleman prefers blondes, with her complexion, Britt looks better with her hair as is. In any event, I would rather she familiarize herself with the inside of a shower before anything else. ;)

After hearing Carly's tale of not being touched by her last bf and the hit it made to her self-confidence, I'm not sold that she could carry being The B'ette. She has a sense of humor that could be appealing to some guys, but ultimately friend-zone her perhaps. I'm interested to see how they continue to edit her (and not be distracted by geometric eyebrows).

Nothing new in spoiler land?

After last night, its obvious to me that the spoiler that Chris is engaged to Whitney is true.   Good job by him finding the only really, sane, normal, happy person out of the herd.   He must be pleased watching back at her interactions with the others that he didn't see.   And I think there is some decent chemistry for them to work with to make a go in the real world.

No idea what Fleiss/ABC is going to do with the next bachelorette.  Carly/Britt going out at final 5/6 are too early and well the whole no showering by Britt is getting lots of negative reaction online so maybe it will have to be a retread from another season, if Kaitlyn & Becca aren't in the running either.

  • Love 2

I wonder if they would consider Michelle Money or Clare. I am all for Clare having a shot. Hey, if DeAnna, Emily and Andi got the gig, why not her? She's fun, smart and a sweet person and she would take the process seriously. I just don't see anyone from this group truly ready for marriage other than Whitney and since she "won" she won't get the gig.

Yeah he was really beaming at her, and her at him, when he gave her the rose on the group date.

Nikki ended up on "Couples Therapy" because of The Bachelor, and Clare had multiple public breakdowns on "Bachelor in Paradise".  Both of them are overexposed in terms of Reality TV appearances.  I can't see either of them drawing an audience as Nikki would go in being automatically labeled the bitch and Clare would go in being automatically labeled the crazy.

  • Love 1

Reality Steve just posted that he is now in doubt about Britt as the B'ette. He says it won't be Becca, because it's never the number 2 girl. But he's not sure Britt can recover from last night (I didn't watch; I'm just reporting what he said). If they do decide on her, he expects her to get a major boost at the Women Tell All, which films on February 21.

Why did they turn on Britt like that? She was a no-brainer Bachelorette choice, and RS said before the season that she was well liked by the cast and crew. I can't figure it out.

My guess...they seriously underestimated how boring and dull Chris would be and were desperate for ANYTHING they think would create some interest, entertainment in the season. Crazy Ashley is no longer around, Ashley I was slightly less deranged this week so they bring out the not bathing and the crazy black widow. Probably also the reason they called poor Jordan and asked her to embarrass herself and "surprisingly" show up. They have to pull out anything because Chris is just not cutting it on his own.

RS is almost always wrong about the next Bachelor and Bachelorette though. He always swears up and down that it won't be this person and will definitely be this person and he's always wrong. During Desiree's season, he laughed at anyone who believed that Juan Pablo would be the next Bachelor. I think it was during Emily's season that he swore up and down that Roberto (yes, Roberto of Roberto and Ali) would be the next Bachelor. During Sean's season, he swore that it would be Lindsey. So I take his next Bachlorette and Bachelor guesses as just that...guesses.

For all we know, it could be Kaitlyn or Becca or no one from this group of girls.

He says it won't be Becca, because it's never the number 2 girl.

Funny to realize how much they've adapted to the changing times, since Trista, the very first Bachelorette, was #2. (And she initiated the core tenet of this entire franchise: that it's better to "lose" than to "win," because who here knows whatever happened to Amanda? Yoo hoo, Amanda, remember her? ... Exactly.)

I guess...but Kelsey the Sociopath Black Widow is more than enough entertainment for one episode. That's what everyone's talking about today. They could have left out "Britt is fake and doesn't shower" and people would still be abuzz about last night and what will happen next week.

  • Love 1

Can you imagine the terrific awkwardness that may have occurred on a 2-on-1 date with neither B'ette getting a rose? The rose out on a platter in full view. The evening proceeds, probably with Kelsey and Ashley I passively-aggressively digging at each other, until Chris stammers and fesses up that neither one will be getting a rose.

That moment could make some of this bullcrap worth it.

That happened during one of the Bachelorette seasons. Emily, maybe? I can't remember. It was sort of fantastically painful: She's at dinner with two guys, tells one of them, "I'm going to say goodbye to you, let me walk you out," she leaves with him and the guy left at the table is like, "whew, awesome!" and then she comes back and says, "yeah, I'm ditching you too. See ya."

Damn, who was that? Was it really Emily? Getting old is a drag.

[Edited to add: Actually I'm pleased that I'm not hanging on to such detritus in my memory bank.]

I like Clare and think she's beautiful. But I liked Ashley, too, and the guys for the most part just didn't get the "wow" vibe like from an Emily or Trista. It's too bad, but I'm afraid a season with Clare would be "more of the same" and I wish her better than a mansion full of Bentleys ("We're casting for the most dramatic season ever!").

That was Desiree after the floating hot tub date she had with Michael the gay lawyer and Ben and they got into a bitch fit during dinner and she cut them both.

It would be and I hope the spoiler is correct. I think it is because we saw Ashley I sobbing and walking away from him angry, so they made it pretty obvious that she gets sent home.

The way that one carries on, she could be sobbing and angry because Chris told her there wasn't going to be any grape jelly on the breakfast buffet the next morning.

But yeah, my money (and hope) is on both of those whackadoodles getting sent packing.

I think it was written by the poster...unless it's a coincidence that the hotel is in Deadwood, SD and the poster's screen name is deadwoodSD. That being said, come on, deadwoodSD, give us some behind-the-scenes scoop! We'll all promise to post wonderful things about the Martin & Mason Hotel in Deadwood, SD!

Good catch, JenE4! Yes spill the dirt DeadwoodSD!

WELL.....I can't say MUCH!

We hosted Chris Soules for an entire week in our Mason suite. He liked our breakfast burritos for breakfast.

He is a really sweet and genuine guy, he even made his bed most mornings!

He was very kind to all our staff and we really wish him the best of luck in finding love!

The crew was really professional and kind to everyone as well. It looks like a fun job although its a lot of work.

We shut the hotel down for the entire week and the cast and crew had free reign over everything.

I wasn't even allowed upstairs during filming! So even I don't know what happened! (I've been waiting since OCTOBER to find out!!!!)

They filmed the Rose ceremony for the episode in the ballroom on the third floor as well.

They had great weather for filming so it should turn out good. We got 49 inches of snow on Oct 3rd in 2014 so we were really worried they were going to have bad weather but it turned out great.
