Yes, needy stupidity covers it.

Which is the reason I hate the catfishing episodes.  I can't get into calling people out on such a sad thing.  It's sort of like making fun of the handicapped.

And self-aware enough to mention that his patients fear that he's overcharging them to compensate for the amount he's into with the con game.  Inconceivable.  Something is wrong with him.

So, what is Phool's latest theme?  Bringing on badly behaved children and then hanging it all on the mother?  Today's show . . . the father was sitting right the F there, but Mom has to answer for all the snotty-assed sons do wrong?  Did I miss the part where the father said he's not involved in any of the decision making in that house?  Why should she be called to task for all the stupid decisions and mixed messages, while her husband gets to sit there unchallenged?  Isn't Phool all about same-gender role models in the household?  According to that belief, the one who should have been put on the spot for his bad parenting was Dear Old Dad.

I've noticed that as well. For some weird reason Dr Phil only sees fit to go in hard on the moms in these situations. Maybe because in many cases it's the mom that writes the show so he figures she'll more willing to listen to him pontificate? I've seen some older  shows where Phil went after the dad and things got testy on stage. Maybe Dr Phil feels he doesn't want to fight with guys so much anymore...

Just finished the episode with the 'bad boy' sons.  These are the episodes where Phil is at his best, imho.  Teenage years are so awful.  And if they're not, those become the adults who have midlife crises.  imho.

I actually liked that Phil offered the 21 year old,  Mr. Know It All Jerk, no help at all. It was a subtle rejection, yet an acknowledgement that the oldest son is out on his own, and old enough that he could say No.  and he would have, of course.

These shows are what I like about Dr. Phil the most.  I hope this family works out.

Yeah, there wasn't much point in offering the older boy help. The parent had washed their hands of him and he was done with them. It would have been a wasted effort to give him anything.

I see that whatever has afflicted Phil has also afflicted Robin. During her (surprise!) shilling of her crap at the end of the show, she could hardly read the cue cards or speak with her huge teeth. Yuck.

I have been deleting when Robin is about to come on.  I haven't seen her in a long time.  Wow. Did she have her teeth redone to make them even longer?  She looks freaky.  I know she always did and maybe it is because I have not seen her in a long time.  Wow

Today was worse than usual with her. It almost seemed like she was on Zanax for something-it was just more weird than she normally acts. She was trying to be so upbeat and happy but had trouble reading the TelePrompTer and getting her words out. This has gotten so damn ridiculous with these people. How desperate are they, really?

Saw today's show with the parents of the girl with the abusive DJ boyfriend. At the end he offered to get them separate life coaches. I think the life coach might help her. She seemed immature but I think eventually she'll grow up and move on.

Also, Phil was being disingenuous when he said, "You're the only person I've heard use the word 'love' and 'Pornography' in the same sentence." I saw on old show where he had a married couple that did an adult website together. It's come up before with couples. Now he's made it clear that he doesn't approve, but it's not some strange concept he's never heard of before.

That was just for impact, she needed anything he could muster to shock her into seeing the severity of her situation.

The yelling all around today gave me a headache. Phil would try to stop it sometimes and then other times, he'd let them go on and on. I don't think mom and dad are the best parents but I think this woman is nuts. Her brother got so upset talking about her and didn't want to say it, but I think he really did think she needed to go back into the mental hospital. If you've been admitted to a mental hospital 8 times and are still acting like this, wouldn't you get a clue? No wonder her kids have a restraining order against her. I would also. Tomorrow should be interesting or just more yelling.

Either today's guest was a rough 40 or I'm in deep denial about how old I look. She looked like a very angry Sally Struthers.

I tuned in late.  She was calling her mother "Vicky" or whatever and carrying on about children, and I honestly thought her mother was her ex-husband's new wife, or her sister.  Wow.  A rough 40 for sure.  Her mom looks younger than she does and so does her dad.

I don't even know where to start with today's show!   Blaming all your problems on your past doesn't ever make things better.  Did anyone notice that weird thing she kept doing with her tongue?

Part 2 should be very interesting.  Dating a man who murdered her best friend?

I noticed the tongue thing.   I first noticed it when she was listening to her brother, but then she was doing it later,

This whole thing could have been a one-parter.  About forty-five minutes of today's consisted of unconstructive yelling.  What s the point?

Ugh. We tried watching this episode last night. I started getting a headache in the first seven minutes and turned it off. I am getting to the point where I just don't care to watch any episodes of Dr Phil. The saddest part about that is I'll be less able to engage in all this wonderful, snarky discussion about it!

Well I am so looking forward to catching up next week but ONLY for the episodes with Robin trying to talk with her new veneers!. Lol. She annoys me but I just can't quit her! Yet. She's like the JFK Jr. plane crash...tragic but still fascinating to watch. (And yes, I am afraid to fly but only the take off and landing).

After the second part today of the crazy blond woman when she agrees to go to treatment, Shill promotes Robin's face crap. When will he stop doing this?! I know they have to have read some of these sites to understand that people don't like this. Or maybe they just don't care because they can suck enough vulnerable people into buying their stuff. On another more serious note, he seems like an ancient man when he walks off and grabs plastic woman's hand. The poor man can barely walk now. Time to let it go, Phillip. Retire and enjoy whatever time you have left in this life.

I noticed the tongue thing too.  I think it is bad dental work.  If you look at her picture when she was 14, she didn't have the 'horse teeth' she has now.  I have seen this before with bad veneers or other dental work.

It is getting kind of sad at this point. Her face creams must not be selling very well. Seems like he is pimping them every other episode.

I can see that.  She also reminded me of Jenilee Harrison (Cindy on Three's Company, Jamie Ewing Barnes on Dallas).  Not unattractive at all - until she opens her mouth - but definitely a hard 40!

I like to snark on $hill as much as the next commenter here, but I've got to say I thought he handled this one pretty well (other than making a 2-parter out of it).  I hope the parents get some help too.  They seem like well-intentioned people who have been way out of their league for a long time in terms of dealing with someone as damaged as AngrySallyStruthers.  They take the bait way too easily and allow interactions to turn into shouting matches, much like the first 1.5 hours of this two-parter.  AngrySallyStruthers only started to become responsive once $hill shut the parents up.

I sure hope someone will finally help this lady.  I thought I was going to be snarky about her but she knows she needs help and is ready to get it (unlike bush head bobble boy from a few days ago).

Hi Parrot! Fancy meeting you here!

I am just catching the last 20 minutes or so of this. I agree with you, she definitely needs help, and I'm glad she's willing to get it. It seems like there's really something off about her. Just how she speaks and holds herself. I get a strong crazy rage vibe.

ETA: Is she wearing a tiara??

Regarding the ex-firefighter Taylor:  I think that must be somewhat common that men who are attracted to transsexuals had some sort of traumatic childhood experience because I knew a guy who said the same thing: that he had been sexually abused by his older brother as a child and he thought that had something to do with his attraction to transsexuals.   How can I say it in a polite way, but he was turned on by penises but not men so the person had to look like a woman. He hated that part of himself.  I would think women and transgenders alike would run like hell from him because he was an abusive alcoholic and had ended up in jail before.

Taylor seems to be doing really well and has gone on with his life.

Just wow. I cannot even imagine the traumatic childhoods some of the adults have been through and how it's affected their adult lives. My heart just breaks for all of them. No wonder we all are so over protective of our children and grandchildren! Better to be a helicopter parent/grandparent than to have our babies subjected to this kind of child torture. It make me SICK to think of what has happened to so many sweet, innocent children.

From the previews, I thought this guy was going to be a real himbo, but I actually ended up feeling sorry for him. I didn't believe his story about how he met his accuser. I believe she was a prostitute that he met through that madam who looked like Donatella Versace. I noticed ANTM contestant, Isis King was on his arm during his trial so I googled to see if they're still together. Don't judge me! Apparently, the accuser also auditioned for ANTM but says she was rejected for being transgender. I wonder if he was trying to piss off his ex by bringing Isis who is also transgender.

Come here anyway MrSmith! I do. I very rarely watch Phil anymore but you can go years without watching and nothing changes with his show. But the wit and snark of our beloved (I'm starting to sound like Iylana Fix My Life! Lol) PT posters is the main attraction. That and Mrs. Phil's ever changing face and teeth!

Yeah, I rewatched the blond nut job who thought she could sing and wanted to be a "star" singing Christian music. She was majorly affected because her brother was a Pittsburg Pirates player. Huh? I thought she was nuts the first time she was on the show and in retrospect, I'm now sure she was. Thank goodness, her daughter was given to her dad and step-mother.

Atrocious Singer Danielle is in that category of people that are so wicked and diabolical, that they feel compelled to wrap themselves very tight in Christianity to conceal their true nature. She had an uncanny ability to maintain an even affect through her constant stream of lies. She can get malevolent and obnoxious  without raising her voice. Calling poison control because of Powerade? That has got to be a first. She is willfully sabotaging the child's father's life in a cold, calculated manner, always very conscious to do it under the cloak of being a doting, concerned mother. She is very aware of what she is doing, and she probably misleads a lot of people, regularly. If she appeared to lack self-awareness, it's only because how firm her belief was that she was fooling everyone. Dr Phil offered them no help.

Dr. Phil offered no help, because you can't fix evil.  That bitch was evil and vindictive.  She actually doesn't give two shits about the child; her only concern is ruining Brandon's life.  I can totally see that bitch harming herself (with a gun, knife, poison, etc,) and then blaming it on Brandon.  Nothing would make her happier than to see him go to prison.  If I were him, I would either:

a. Make sure I had someone (who could be a witness) with me 24/7/365 OR

b. Get full custody of the child and then have the military transfer me to another country.

I honestly don't know how Brandon and his wife maintained their self-control.  I personally wanted to strangle the bitch with my bare hands.

That women shouldn't even be on our planet let alone have visitation with her daughter! She strikes me as the type of person who would kill her daughter to get back at her ex. I noticed at the end Dr. Phil shook hands with all the guests on stage except little miss batshit crazy.

He leaned over to her and said, "I hope you listened."

Honestly, the father should take her to court to remove her parental rights.  All he has to do is show a video of these shows, and emphasize that the woman sees herself as a world-travel-worthy contemporary Christian singer.  Then replay the part where she "sings."  Proof positive that she is delusional, and should not be allowed near ANY children.

Yes, I agree, some people are not worth helping or are beyond help.

But on a show that purports to be about helping people, and whose host is constantly bragging about his crack investigative team (who NOTHING gets by) and his own finely tuned Bullshit-O-Meter (don't you DARE think you fool me!) - how do these people get on?  Are we to believe that Phool makes a decision about whether or not these people deserve help as the conversation rolls out on camera?  I don't.  So then what is the point?  What's the point of the show then, to parade out cases that don't deserve the Good Doctor's Host's help?  To gape at their hopelessness?  To admire Phool's resolve in withholding his services?  (Because the resources are PRECIOUS, we've been reminded).  These aren't random callers, FFS.  They're screened.  So cut me a break.

I finally saw the whole thing with crazy tiara lady. Again I always find it interesting when Phil tries to use his clichés on people who have emotional/mental issues cuz what he says never registers with them until he drops the act and engages with them on a more personal level. She wasn't hearing all his "Well I'm a good ol' Texas boy," "It's not an essay question," "you're not going to filibuster" stuff but when he finally tried to talk to her as a person on the 2nd part, he was able to get through to her. I was kinda thinking why didn't he start the show like this, the woman obviously had a nervous breakdown ( she was literally committed to an institution!)...why talk to her as if she's another lazy and or cheating spouse?
