Ashley cut off Natalie with a quickness. I have to say that I'm super surprised and impressed. From what she said to the other bridesmaids, it seems that Natalie maybe has a past of being a drama queen and making things all about her.

I think women are generally far too quick to cut off their female friends for a man. Did Ashley say she and Natalie had been besties since KINDERGARTEN?? And she's trown out w/ the trash a week after Jay lands on US soil?

Mama Debbie's hair looked way better on the Live after show.  Not great, but much improved.  (Weirdly, so did Angela....looks like she was introduced to the concept of brush + mirror.)

OMG I thought the improvement was HUGE! On the live show show she looked like a normal cute, older woman. On the series she looks ghastly and almost like a mentally ill homeless woman.

Leida sobbing about how she will have to scrub and clean like one of her maids back home.

I can totally empathize w/ Leida on this. I will clean up my own mess but absolutely cannot clean up other people's messes. When I moved into apartments, they needed to be spotlessly clean before I would sign the lease. When I bought existing houses, I paid for them to be cleaned thoroughly from top to bottom, had all carpets pulled out and replaced, vents cleaned, etc.. It would make me physically ill to have to clean up a mess some other adult made.

Yes, I love me some Larissa!!!

Why does Larissa add an 'e' sound to her words?  Is it a Portuguese thing?

Remember the other Brazilian Karin-EE? Never in my life had I heard that name (Karen, Karine, Corine) pronounced with the EE sound at the end.

They think because they are beautiful and have a guy pussy whipped buying them titis and shoes that they have all the control. Nope!  Those are the worst guys.  They are womanizers, cocky, charming a’holes!  They have no loyalty and like a lot of female attention.

Exactly! Men like that do those things bc they regard the women as pets, not as equals.

But I must be the only one here who doesn't think Fernanda is particularly beautiful....

She's an aging single mom from Indonesia who can't make a comfortable living there. She was on a website looking for an American husband and immediately agreed to marry him two days after meeting him. She's not being choosy here and isn't in a position to make demands.

I didn't grow up wealthy but my cousins did. And they were always involved in clubs and groups and societies etc., where they could interact w/ other rich families. Surely, Leida's parents could marry her off to some wealthy-ish Indonesian guy. Maybe a little older, maybe a widower w/ kids, maybe not good looking. But someone. She is really scrapin the bottom of the barrel w/ Eric and it seems rather unnecessary.

Respectfully, that was a twin bed.  Both of my kids have full beds, and they're more square (like a small queen.) When you lay on one, another person can lay next to you easily.

Leida should have been happy to have a bed Eric couldn't fit in with her.

It was totally a twin (single) bed.  I wondered if the producers were having us look at the daughter's room, leading us to believe Eric slept in a twin bed.  Given that he's a pretty big guy, I bet he has at least a full-size bed in the other bedroom.  Can't see him sleeping, even alone, in a single bed.  Too bad for Leida.

Medical school in Indonesia, according to Wikipedia (https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/omarosa-manigault-donald-trump-uses-a-tanning-bed-every-day/)  grants *bachelor* degrees in medicine, as well as doctorates.  You go directly to medical school from high school.  Again, wikipedia:

There were tons of Indonesian students pursuing medical and other professional degrees at my (huge, research) university when I was in grad school. I think it is typical that they train abroad. If her grades weren't good, marrying a foreigner might have been her only way to enter a respected med school in the west.

Every episode, every scene, Asuelo is groveling or crying or apologizing.  It's hard to watch.   His high-talker voice only makes it worse.   "Kalani said she don't like brown men just white men ..." yet there he is, bowing and scraping at Kalani's side, prostrating himself before her father and sister, rolling over, exposing his belly and whimpering, "please love me."  Where is your dignity, Asuelo?   Pathetic.

I agree totally. He is truly GROSS bc of this. I think this is partly why Low and Kolini have zero respect for him. He's just a whiny, crying, groveling, begging, kow-towing little simp. YUCK!

My thoughts on this season. If you need an extra five or ten grand to fund your foreign romance don't go in this nutty show. Don't go on ANY show where you can't have some control over the content. Drive an Uber, deliver pizza, get a part-time retail gig . The best outcome from being in this show is that you get some followers on Instagram and make a few bucks posing with some questionable diet pills. The worst result is damage to your character, damage to your livelihood, family discord, etc with no legal recourse for damages. It's just not worth it.I

Leida needs to get her son of that dump of a house and that creepy old man. Period. The family knows that she has poor.judgement which is why they all traipsed along after her for the Dollar Store of tours of America

  • Love 8

Shallow note: Kolini appears to be all lower teeth and no upper ones. Kalani has all upper teeth and no lower ones. It's like if you put the two together, you'd have one attractive person with one horribly unattractive one. Kalani is trying wayyy hard to be a Kardashian, methinks. Asuelu seems genuine with his constant tears & he isn't always referencing America; though I'm sure it sweetened the pot for him. The father was right "you have to work hard in America. That's what it takes to make it over here." Damn f'n skippy! And "the land of milk & honey. They don't tell you the milk's expensive & the honey isn't sweet." YES. I like his realness and it's what I'd expect of a father. As for whom he prefers his daughters to date and marry-that's their own business. Maybe he knows something we don't know. In any event, you late b/c he's Oliver's father and they need to accept it.

Olga is adorable. The hospital was tragic. I guess it's the best L&D hospital socialized medicine can provide. Steven pissed me off by agitating the situation and I wanted him to calm down and just respect what Olga wanted and have regard for her nerves at the time.

Eric's been up too many late nights playing Halo. The apartment was sub standard for anyone and of course Leida should leave . But I guess there aren't any "host family" setups to take her AND a son for her Medical studies in the U.S. If dad is a world renowned surgeon then I would think he could pull some connections in the states. I don't see any romantic attraction in this case or even friendship attraction. And yes- Eric- put Alessandro down! He doesn't want to be held by you! Eric's daughter looked cuter on the after show but the host seemed like she was roasting her a little bit so I felt for her. But Eric isn't the "cool laid back dad." Not.even.a.little.

"Fernana" & Jon: Clubs are meet markets. Engaged and married people should find another hobby to bond. JMO. If you like dancing, take some dance classes together. It was awkward as I thought they were meeting friends at the club as a group. Just the two of them going to a club?- it didn't really play. Just weird. Go home, 'Nana. Save yourself for a nice man when you're mature enough to marry. Jon, enjoy the 15 min fame and then live alone forever, bar hopping and clubbing to your heart's content until both eyes go wonky.

Colt's mom was sweet and seemed so normal on after show and she explained how he stepped up to live with her after his dad passed. The joint account is for household expenses and they also have personal accounts. However, I liked Larissa explaining how she's not just a sexed up Latina. Colt wants to be in bed all day and she's like "nope!"

Angela's overall look improved a-la a Sally Jessy Raphael special in the 90s. I enjoyed it. Her and Michael still together? Ugh. I guess the $$  is good for now. They'll pretend all the way down the aisle I'm sure.

I feel terrible for Olga. She has very limited options and no support.

IKR?  And when he got close to whisper to her that it would be "very bad" or something if His Son were born without him present, it sounded like a threat--"you'd better hold that kid in until I can be there."  It was ugly. What was she supposed to do?  Stick a cork in it?

I haven't had a chance to watch the last hour yet so I'm looking forward to seeing this version of Angela. If she and Michael are still together I'd wager it's only because she enjoys his groveling charm and holding the promise of 'Murica over his head.

In agreement! He's really lucky he even knows he has a son on the way and was able to get within 5,000 miles of them. Quit the Capt Save-a-How act, Steven. You can't do anything for Olga and that baby now that she couldn't do herself.

I guess I must be the only one who thought Debbie's new hair color was awful -- looked like shitwater brown -- and the cut even worse.  It was at least an *attempt* to look better, but I didn't see that as an improvement at all and thought now she looks more like a man.

I think Leida is too emotional, too unstable that any rich suitor would be immediately turned off.  I'm sure there are much cuter, sweeter, and balanced women in Indonesia that a wealthy man could find.

I agree!  I thought Debbie's hair looked awful.  The cut was terrible.  It's what they make little boys look like before they have opinions.

And I'm joining in on the "Fernanda isn't that attractive" club.  I don't get it.  She's cute....a 7.  I think she's being judged so highly because she's shown next to Kalani, who is just not attractive, and Kollini (who has the weirdest sides-pinched-in nose), etc.

Then again, I think Jon is a 7 at best too.  They are both 7's, thinking they're 10's.

Jon's female friend who was on the after show, the blonde who just won district judge (?) needs to tone down her suuuuuthern acccccent.

I think it would be better described as post-communism/developing economy medicine than socialized medicine. Finland, for example, has universal healthcare coverage for its people and has very high quality facilities. Russia doesn’t have the same system  by any stretch of the imagination.

Debbie looked more manly than Colt both before *and* after the haircut/color.

Steven is self-absorbed and far from perfect although I still give him points for trying! Without him, Olga would have been entirely alone.

I don't think it will work out between the two of them, but I do think that Steven will want to stay in the kid's life. I saw him as trying so hard to do everything absolutely perfectly right and if it made him a little obnoxious it was because he just didn't know what he was doing, which, he admitted.

I really hope that Olga and the baby make it here to the United States! I could absolutely see her living with Steven's grandparents. They seem like very kind people with a lot of love to give, and as I've said before, Olga would soak that up like a sponge and with so much gratitude! I could see her working and helping out with bills while they watched the baby. (Gauging from the other baby toys they had, they probably do some of that already.) It might take Steven a little while to get it together, but eventually, he would be a very consistent presence in his child's life, the way his dad was with him before he passed. He can honor his dad by being there for his kid every day, even if it doesn't work out with their mom.

Olga just needs family to care about her. And, I could see her and the baby staying with Steven's grandparents and being a blessing to them. She would care for them as they aged. Truly.

Okay, I'm getting a little Normal Rockwell... but Thanksgiving is next week. They could have a Norman Rockwell family with just enough Christopher Titus to keep it interesting.

I was team Debbie pretty much until I caught her sneer in the car when she and Larissa were telling Coltie about the aborted couch-buying expedition.  She and her son are treating Larissa like shit.  She's told she can buy anything she wants as long as Debbie's there--I would assume to make sure she doesn't spend too much money, which is reasonable because Larissa probably doesn't have a good idea of what things cost here.  But it was a lie.  She was not allowed to buy the couch because cats and because Coltie might not like it.  I really hated this.  So let her buy the fucking couch and see what the cats do.  Jackson Galaxy will tell them to put double-sided tape on the couch and put a scratching post close to it.  You never learn anything if you are not allowed to make mistakes, and this seems like a no-brainer mistake to make.  So what if Coltie doesn't like it--that wasn't part of the original deal.  And again--how better to learn what Coltie likes than to fuck it up?  Cheese louise, *all* the couches in that store were crappy--make Larissa happy for $1200?  Seems like a bargain to me.  Plus, I hate it when men, who presumably exercise power in the jobs they go to every day, cannot relinquish power at home to allow their wives the freedom to decorate as they choose.   As long as Larissa isn't going to a job, imo their home is her domain, but Coltie isn't having any of it, and Debbie is going to back him up all the way.  The only limit he should put on her household spending is monetary, not aesthetic.  She will never be happy if she is forced to accept his and Debbie's rule in *everything*.

Taken from google..."Personal Income Tax Rate in Finland averaged 52.96 percent from 1995 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 62.20 percent in 1995 and a record low of 49.00 percent in 2010"

Yikes!

Ok...most of Finland's taxes go to daycare and education . However , that bodes even worse for their increasingly failing healthcare system. It's basically a lottery to be seen at the clinic without an appointment. To see a g.p. on the spot you will pay handsomely out of pocket.

Off topic anyway. Steven just had some over inflated expectations of the l&d. Since it was all about him anyway, I guess it wasn't up to *his* vision as the FATHER as to what it should be like.

She has the loveliest way of putting herself together sometimes. She seems a little forlorn because Coltie still looks at her as some kind of blowup doll come to life who needs to be fed and cajoled. He's not really getting in touch with her as a person. If he were, he wouldn't have let his friends talk to her like she was something to be scraped off the bottom of their shoes.

So far we've heard a lot about Coltie's unhealthy dynamic, but very little about what she left behind in Brazil. Let's just say I'm intrigued.

I don't disagree w/ anything you're saying. But I think in Colt's defense, the way he and Larissa are playing this is that they are using the 90 days as a test drive. They are not engaged yet. He said they are watching and waiting to see how it goes and then they will marry ~if~ they feel there is compatibility. I think it's kind of shitty for him to hedge his bets like that while Larissa gives up everything in Brazil (job, home, possessions, etc.) but he said that's the way it is and she agreed. (or at least I think she agreed.)

It would be plausible for a vet, although others get it too.  But it was pure speculation, like when folks on here diagnose Colt as on the spectrum unchallenged.

Certainly not unchallenged, but yes there are a lot of armchair diagnoses.  I was curious as to whether he actually said he had post traumatic stress syndrome or not since I didn't recall him saying that.  Eric was an avionics technician, so the odds he saw combat are slim... not that he couldn't have PTSD.

Adding on to the above, usually when someone blusters about doing something dangerous - like Eric saying he wanted to go fight ISIS - they're pussies who know there's no way they'd actually get off their ass and do such a thing. So I also highly doubt Eric saw any combat action, unless you consider maneuvering through the garbage mines in his apartment as a combat zone...

What i realized I dont like about Jon and Fernanda is the extreme pompousness of both of them and I think this is what makes them very compatible to each other. In other words, both are way too full of themselves, esp her. Fernanda: "I'm a great dancer." "My friends are more fun." "I'm so bored not being able to work." I'm curious, what kind of job would she like to have ? She should probably consider going to college or technical school to learn some kind of a trade. Jobs (that pay above min wage) dont come easy to born Americans, let alone 19 year old brand new green card holders. Hopefully he will put her in real estate and teach her the trade.

Thank you! I dislike Eric. He is also NOT that nice to Leida (could not blame him) but he doesnt seem to show real affection to her, just mostly annoyance. I think he is marrying her because he thinks she will be a status symbol, and because he seems to be going through a midlife crisis.

Too bad Steven didn’t consultban immigration lawyer before going yo Russia.  They would have probably told him to get Olga to the US before the birth and have the baby here.  Chances are,  once she’s here, she wouldn’t have to leave because the baby would be a US citizen.

Erica catfished Leida.  No doubt.  And for some reason seems to get off on it. He really doesn’t like woman.   If I was Leida and saw that hovel and bed, I’d tell Eric that I’ll be staying with my parents until he gets the place clean and a much bigger bed.

Coltee needs to send Larissa home.   He is already married to his mother.  Last time I checked bigamy is against the law.

Fernanda acts like a typical 19 year old girl.  Yes, in my day, a 19 year old girl would never act the way she did.  But with the introduction of reality, trash TV, such as the morally superior Jersey Shore, girls these days think it’s acceptable to act like classless drunk idiots.  My girls are 13 years apart.  The oldest would never think of starting a fight in a club.   The others would. They live for drama.  It’s just nuts.

The blonde sure cut her friend really quick.  It’s obvious she wants all her friends to tell her she’s doing the right thing by marrying a 20 year old f*ck boy, because deep down she knows she’s making a mistake.  At least her kids aren’t on TV.  I’ll give her that.

Showing up late, six pages in. I'm getting later with every episode.

Coltee/HorseTeeth: I have to FF through her TH's because the more she speaks, the more ee's she adds to words, and it's like nails on chalkboard for me. And Coltee's face with upturned eyebrows makes me think he's getting an enema anytime he's talking. He looks pained. As for couch shopping, I am currently down to three pets (cats/dogs) and I couldn't deal with anything but leather furniture. My cats never clawed it and it's the only way I could deal with the hair. But we know they can't afford that because they can't even fix the A/C in the car. His cousins need to get lost. She needs to realize the Hippy 60's are over and he looks like he needs anger management classes. He was beyond rude the way he questioned Larissa and she did handle that quite nicely. But NO ONE needs to hear about Colt's sexual needs. *La la la!!!* (fingers in my ears)

Indonesian Brat/G.I. Comb Over: These two. Have they EVER shown any affection towards one another? Even hold hands or a hug? Then again, she doesn't even show affection for her child even when he's having a meltdown. Eric's hair gets worse with every episode, we finally got to see it from the back and it looks like he drunkenly went at it with a pair of clippers. There were CHUNKS missing...that was not normal balding pattern. Even my 22 year old son, who doesn't make a whole lot above minimum wage, can afford a decent apartment with decent (or should I say, "proper") furniture, and has a queen size bed and a real couch and love seat. Totally beyond loser status, this one is. And who invites your ex wife to be there to greet your new fiance and her family as soon as they arrive? The blow up couch did me in. I had no idea something like that even existed. A twin bed and a blow up love seat. I'm done.

Sophia Vergara/Ricky's Younger Brother: I have trouble figuring him out. He hangs out with WASPY Southerners, but he's seems very much trying to shed his Latin roots. His last name is Rivera. He's fluent in Spanish. And did you hear his voice when he yelled "FERNANDA!!!" in the club parking lot? Very Hispanic sounding when he's upset/angry. And yes, Dude, your mouth was saying "No" but your hands on the blonde's hips were saying otherwise. Total TLC plant. And I'm sorry, if my Husband is not drinking, then I'm not drinking. It would just have been courteous of him to opt out or at least stop at one drink since she was obviously disappointed she couldn't indulge. Bet he would eat ice cream in front of her if she were on a diet. Why was he in such a rush to get to the club?

Steve/Olga: I recently watched a documentary about Russia and also noted that the hospital/medical systems look like something from 60 years ago. Very sad. However, as for her walking to the OR, they put me in a wheelchair for my scheduled c-section, but I could have easily walked. I am also of the camp that he was let into the room due to his camera crew entourage. Sounds like this baby has a pretty considerable sized noggin. I feel sorry for these two  young kids going through this birth with no family there to support them. I can't snark on them.

Gigolo Jay/Ashley "Simpson": Their story is so boring leading up to their wedding, that the only thing TLC could come up with was the sugar/broken glass scene. I do give her credit with the surprise party, because he seems like the type would appreciate something like that. Her former BFF was way off by dragging Jay outside during the party to interrogate him. Interesting how easily Ashley threw her out of the wedding. Obviously nothing is going to get in between her and permanent big D. I had to snort at the bridesmaid with the interesting hairdo/bun on her head.

LIVE chat with Michelle Bunyon: Even Mr. Snarkish keeps commenting on what an amazon she is. I googled, and she's 6'1". At least they gave her a decent sized chair, but the whole turning awkwardly to face the screen is stupid. Mrs. Bith Phtew had her top teeth in! The hair was an improvement but could've been even better. I give her props for all the positive sentiments she gave regarding the other cast members. And, I'm sorry, but what show am I watching? WHY are we seeing and hearing from Grangela and Mykull when they are FROM ANOTHER SHOW?? Evidently she has decided to at least listen to the social media snark regarding her looks and the hair and clothing were SO much better. She did appear heavily medicated, or under the finger of TLC's producers to try and keep her temper under control. Although I had to laugh at the amount of censoring that was involved still, and the fact that she went back to her old cackling self in the end because she HAD to bring up the "BJ". Something appears off in their relationship, she seemed to be watching her words when Michelle kept asking her what their status is. Personally I think they are history and are only doing this to get more TLC $. And as for Jonathan's judge friend, I kept wanting to pin her hair out of her eye. Distracted me from anything she was saying.

Re: Colt & Larissa- Those couches were overpriced and not super luxurious. They were not even Bob's discount furniture level attractive and Bob's isn't bad. We just upgraded our couches to contemporary white ones and tossed our Brown colored Bob's in the basement as a rec room. But when I saw those couches, i told Mr. KDawg that they're not worth more than around $850 IMO. And as for the looks and style of said couches, I said if Larissa is happy with that, she's not high maintenance at all. She's kind of redeeming herself little by little for me . But honestly I think where she lost Debbie is when she criticized the slot machine and wanted to get rid of it before Colt said  the grandfather got it for them. Debbie looked like something in her changed at that instant.

It was the deceased father who bought her the slot machine.

About that blow-up loveseat--is that a child's toy?  I know there is blow-up furniture for children, and that thing is so small and close to the ground that it's hard for me to believe it's made for adult use.  Does Eric's youngest daughter spend any time there?  Could it be hers?

Also--in the third of the photos of Eric's love nest, you can see stuffed animals on the left side of that round table.  Did someone buy toys for Alessandro?  Or are those his daughter's, too?

Eric does not look healthy to me.  Maybe Father Leida could check him out--his pasty complexion and clumpy hair loss should be symptoms of *something*--and I agree with those who think alcohol may play a part in his life.  When he was sitting on the B o'W listening to his fiancee crying, sitting there with an angry look and his lips pressed together so hard they disappeared into one line, I thought "there's a man who wants a drink."  According to some posters here, it's possible he is receiving some benefits from his service, and if he's earning the average $55,000 salary for his job, he ought not to be totally impoverished, not to the point where he is unable to afford to offer food to his guests.  He is able to afford various secondary living spaces, but not a box of crackers and a stick of cheese?  I'm not looking down on him for being poor (if he is poor) but because of his unwelcoming attitude and lack of warmth toward everyone, including his gf, his children, and little Alessandro.  Hell, a can of peanuts is only a couple of bucks.  Or make some popcorn!

I’d like to know where her kids are. And why they aren’t with Mom.

I think its pretty harsh to assume that Ashley's kids don't live with her or that she's a terrible mother. Maybe she's a good enough mother to not want her kids displayed on reality TV. Maybe she had them stay with her mother or a friend for Jay's first couple of days in the US. I don't for the life of me think that that's a bad or wrong thing for Ashley to do.

Stephen and Olga are so young and so naive.  Maybe I missed it, but has there been any confirmation he is the baby’s father?  I don’t know that he’d think to get proof...he seems so enamored with “his baby”.

They had a torrid summer romance, Steven said they got her positive pregnancy test right before she left to go back home to Russia. Why the assumption that Olga is either "loose" or conniving? They seem to really care for one another.

Agreed. And it was painful to watch Asuelu apologize to Kalani and her sister, both of whom were so mean! If apologies are in order, why doesn't Kalani apologize for not using any birth control, for deciding to have a baby, for making huge life decisions that forced someone she barely knew to either leave everything he ever knew OR to never know his son!

I'm not saying she needs to apologize either, but he was put in a very difficult situation. And he graciously stepped up the plate.  The LA beaches don't begin to compare to what Kalani had back home, but he smiled and talked about how great it all would be. He embraced the crowds, the trash, and the lack of waves. All of it. And what did he get in return? She chewed him out and made him apologize.

Kalani, he was a still a virtual stranger. HE OWED YOU NOTHING. The problem is that she has no sense as to how unreasonable she's being. And, instead of putting her in check, her family cosigns her crazy bitchiness. Indeed, they underscore it. They fuel it!

So Asuelu sat between Kalani and her angry sister, and he basically had bitch in stereo. But he put up with it. And it was infuriating to watch!

Her family acts like Kalani is the Catch of the County. Uh, she's not.

Does anyone else think that Kalani's biological clock was ticking and that she may have wanted to get pregnant? May have. It's just a theory!

I hope Asuelu gets away from them and can start his own life, away from the viper brood, but still close to his son. He can get a job and support himself, perhaps working for a hotel?  or, working on a farm? While Utah is landlocked, perhaps he can learn to love the mountains? Without question, he will find a good woman to love and be a stepmother to Oliver. Hopefully, he will lead a sweet life in the States. Hopefully.

I hope the same. Kalani and her family are nuts. When her sister was whinging about "my baby" I almost fell off my chair. Honey. He's not your baby. If you want a baby they're usually easy to make. Get one of your own.

I still can't believe Olga walked to the OR to just....flop down on the table for a C-Sections.

I feel terrible for Asuelu. All he does is try to be cheerful and play with the baby while the ambiguously incestuous Sisters from Hell and Father Kalani berate him and talk shit about his apparent inadequacies til he cries and desperately promises to live up to their standards. And lol at Kalani/Kolini claiming a racist edit when 1) everyone in the family says only white men are good enough for the daughters and 2) Asuelu said tonight Kalani told him she would never pursue a relationship with him since he's not white.

Kalani's attempts at damage control are lame. She's looking in the mirror and doesn't like what she sees, so she's trying to make excuses for her horrible family to Asuelu's detriment. I just can't wait to meet the heretofore unknown brother. I bet he's a treat.

Eric's apartment looks like the lair of a couple of teenage boys. Can you IMAGINE how it smells? Dirty socks, stale beer, and regret.

And "I work hard for my body and want to look sexy." or whatever. Girl, bye. Looking sexy at 19 is no big feat!

But wasn't Jonathan paying her college tuition in Mexico? It think she does want a legit career.

Yeah, why is he in that homogenously White Southern town? Is that where he attended college and just wound up staying? I can't imagine that he wants to shed his Latino heritage if he's bringing home a Mexican woman to marry. But it seems like an awful place for them to be.  They have to cross state lines to find a nightclub either of them would want to patronize....

I think Jonathan (and who knows who else) worked just as hard for it! lol

At 46, with two kids, I admit, I work really hard for mine! But at 19 I think it's genes and youth for many.

I was saddened by the harsh tone Eric was taking w/ Allessandro when he was having his little cranky crying fit. He very sternly told him "Just calm down!" And something else equally harsh before that. Did Eric really think taking that tone w/ a little kid would endear the kid to him? Or impress the family?

So no one else heard Leida tell Eric her parents think he looks older than 40???

And I still don't understand why Leida and her family flew into JFK....on two separate days. Why didn't they all fly into Wisconsin, using a connecting flight if there was no direct flight? And all on the same day. And did the brother and sister actually need to come? Weren't the parents capable of assessing the situation and helping w/ Allessandro?

It's not his job skills that I question, it's his lack of self respect.   Perhaps it ingrained in the Samoans that tourists are their superiors, I don't know.  But the way Asuelo goes around like a whipped dog, making promises to whomever demands it ("you better not hurt my daughter," "you better not cheat on my sister," "tell me right now that you love my sister") is so humiliating to watch.   Captain Lou, your precious daughter spread her legs for him.   Kolonic, your innocent, deflowered sister was apparently too careless to use birth control.   It could be just as easily be argued that Kalani fucked up Asuelo's life but of course Yosemite Samwa and daughter aren't going to look at it that way.

Respectfully disagree.  I see a guy who comes from a VERY different culture, where family, respect and harmony are valued.  He's now a stranger in a strange land and is deferring to his "hosts".

I do agree with you that Kalani has fucked up Asuelu's life though.  Kalani has put him in an impossible situation:  stay in Samoa and not be a father to your son, or come to the US and lose your identity.  Sadly, I see an unhappy future for that young man if he stays in the U.S.  I think he will stay to be a father to his son, but he will have menial jobs forever and will become the family's whipping boy.

You can take the boy out of Samoa, but you can't take the Samoa out of the boy.

It was the one thing in the house that they had that had any kind of decorative (it is Vegas! ) type connotation, similar to a juke box IMO. Before I would run my mouth about everything I don’t like, I might ask a few questions just in case something did have some sentiment behind it. Once Larissa criticized the gift from her late husband, Debbie might have feared that she would insist it go.  I can understand her being defensive.

She is bringing a man they have never met into their home. A man she barely knows. We saw how that worked for Molly.

I for sure question her judgment as a mother. Even if she only has her kids part time, it’s a foolish decision on her part.

Idk, 19 is so young, shes still a teenager. Im notnsure she knows what mother nature has in store for the future, especially when she will have kids ? I ate anything at that age and was a stick. To be 19 and very overweight is pretty tragic in my humble opinion, unless there is some health issues going on.OTOH, when I was 19, I would never have considered dating someone in their 30s. She may seem mature but I think that jon will kind of have to "raise" her for the next couple years. There is definitely a world of difference between a 19 year old woman and a 22 year old woman IMO.

@Pepper Mostly: *slow clap*. Kolini's "fatherly" attachment to Oliver is rather creepy. And I am glad to find another person that uses "whinging" on a regular basis. I'm tired of explaining that word to people! As for Eric's apartment fragrance, throw in some 80's manly cologne like "Jovan Musk Oil for Men", burnt coffee, microwaved pizza rolls, and some horribly scented Glade air freshener.

Molly came in for endless disparagement and opprobrium for exposing her children to this shitshow. If Ashley doesn't want to do the same I think that's a point in her favor. We all clutch our pearls when the mothers on 90DF throw their kids into the mix. (I do too, not letting myself off the hook here). It seems pretty clear that she isn't expecting Jay to be a "father figure". So there's no story there for TLC's purposes. And if she cares enough about her kids' privacy and safety to not let them or pictures of them be shown, well I say kudos to her.

And oh yeah, I was thinking burnt coffee, except you know he doesn't brew drip coffee. He either makes instant or goes out to Dunkin Donuts every day.
