Ocean Chick November 17, 2016 Share November 17, 2016 From the spoilers and Q&A that I've read, the story isn't going anywhere - just spinning its wheels. Since it airs during the Thanksgiving week, I guess that's okay. People who are traveling or otherwise enjoying their friends and family and miss this episode won't miss anything important. 1 Link to comment

Not just this episode are we spinning wheels. We won't be getting anywhere until the end of the season. We will be living with Negan, and having several bottle episodes, until then. Then, even at the end of the season, it will continue to spin its wheels since we will no doubt have a cliff hanger. So, we might as well buckle ourselves in for what is to be a long slog. 3 Link to comment

SnarkyTart November 27, 2016 Share November 27, 2016 From The Spoiling Dead Fans Army, detailed spoilers for this week's episode 7.6 "Swear" Spoiler Q&A Episode 7.6 "Swear" (Part 1) Q. How do Tara & Heath get separated? A. Heath and Tara come to a bridge while coming to an end to their 2-week scavenging run with dumpsters blocking the ends of the bridge. They find what appears to be an old camp with dump trucks and sand piles and spent gun shells. A huge sand pile avalanches while extracting something that looks of value, which releases a bunch of walkers that are buried under it. As Heath and Tara fight them to a point..., they decide to run for it as the mass becomes too many to fight. Heath runs ahead and Tara gets blindsided by a walker which separates them. There are too many and as she sees Heath getting surrounded she is pushed over the edge of the bridge! Q. We are supposed to meet the characters "Jennie" (Sydney Park) and "Naomi" (Deborah May) this episode. What are their real character names and what group are they with and what can you tell us about them? A. Jennie is actually Cyndie, and Naomi is actually Natania. There's also a little girl Rachel (Mimi Kirkland- so cute) who truly is becoming a lethal walker assassin. (Seen in the sneak peek.) They find Tara washed up on the beach. Tara is not taken home with them, but is left out there. Tara ends up following them home without being noticed. Since they live next to the ocean, it's no surprise their community we will likely come to know as Oceanside. It will turn out that they had a run-in with the Saviors that killed all the men and older boys when they decided to fight back. So it’s all adult women and children now. They ran off and hid from the Saviors in the woods. Natania is their leader. The entire community is nestled in the woods near the ocean and covered heavily in brush and natural foliage, to where it is virtually unnoticeable from outsiders. Q. What happens to Heath? A. Tara makes it back to the abandoned campground to where she and Heath were separated. She sees the back of a walker’s head in the distance with dreadlocks in the last place she saw Heath….oh, no….Tara fights and claws her way through the walkers because she just has to know. Upon reaching the dread-dead, it turns around and is found to not be Heath. Relief, but also concern. She went to where the camper truck they came in was parked. It’s gone. No Heath. Q. Will Tara make it to ASZ this episode and does she find out about Denise? A. Yes. It is implied that Rosita tells Tara about Denise and Tara is seen crying. Q. Do we see any of the Alexandrians this episode? A. Barely. Only Eugene who greets Tara at the gate and Rosita who talks with Tara back at home getting her up to speed on the situation. Rosita wants weaponry/ammo, but Tara resorts to saying they didn’t find anything. It's another Negan-free episode, so...yay? Other than that, it sounds like a snoozer. 2 Link to comment

SnarkyTart November 29, 2016 Share November 29, 2016 From The Spoiling Dead Fans Army, a detailed synopsis of the upcoming episode: 7.7 "Sing Me a Song” Part 1 Spoiler Thanks as always to our source! Q&A Episode 7.7 "Sing Me a Song” Part 1 1. Why is Michonne out on the road by herself? ... She seems to have a plan. She is making it a point to be killing walkers with her katana and piling them up on the road. 2. Do Carl & Jesus make it to the Sanctuary in the back of the truck? Yes, but Jesus doesn’t. Jesus suggests they both hop out of the back of the van to get a better look at the Sanctuary as they get closer. Carl pretends to be hesitant and gets Jesus to jump out first. After Jesus jumps, Carl waves goodbye and continues on in the truck. Then he finds a box of weapons. 3. Who else in Team Family makes an appearance? Rosita and Eugene are off on a mission. Remember she said “make me a bullet” and she’s holding him to it. They run into Spencer & Gabriel on their way out to get supplies. Rosita and Spencer have some harsh words with each other and they go their separate ways. Spencer & Gabriel have even more harsh words with each other and Gabriel ends up getting out of the car and walking back to ASZ. Spencer is losing friends fast. Rick & Aaron are out scavenging. 4. How does Negan react to Carl’s visit? Negan is intrigued by his new visitor. Instead of disposing him, he offers Carl a grand tour of the Sanctuary. A lot of their interactions follow the comics. Carl comes face to face with Negan’s harem. Negan also makes Carl take off his bandage, then has Carl sing to him while he practices swinging Lucille. 5. Does Carl try to rescue Daryl? No, but Daryl does receive a note from an unknown friend. A folded piece of paper is slid under his door. He finds a motorcycle key in it with a matchstick taped to it and one word: ‘Go.’ 6. Does Negan find Judith in this episode? Yes. After Negan personally delivers Carl back home, Negan makes Carl take him on an awkward tour of his house. Negan finds Judith in her crib and picks her up. They are all on the front porch sipping lemonade and Judith is sitting on Negan’s lap when Rosita, Eugene and Spencer roll back into the ASZ. Bonus: * We will see the "ironing scene" from the comics * Carl takes out a bunch of Saviors when he first arrives to the Sanctuary (just like the comics) I'll probably sit this one out. I have no interest in seeing Negan force Carl to take off his bandage and sing to him while Negan practices swinging his bat. And I certainly have no interest in seeing Rick et al forced to allow Negan to sit on their porch and hold Judith in his lap. Really, I have no interest in Negan at all. Oh, and a man, cuter than Spencer, gets a hot iron to the face, and Michonne goes walkabout. Who's watching Judith? Seems like Negan is on babysitting duty now. Here's the post with the additional Q&A: Spoiler Q&A Episode 7.7 "Sing Me a Song" Part 2 A big thanks to our source for some great details. 1. What are Rick and Aaron up to in this episode? ... They find a sign on a gate that says "Keep going. Only thing here 4 you is trouble." Since Negan is coming back soon, they have no choice but to check it out. It seems the guy who wrote the note is dead, but he was smart. He has a houseboat full of supplies and ammo in the middle of the lake, but he protected it by surrounding the boat with walkers. Basically, Rick and Aaron have a crapload of work to do to get their payday. 2. Who is the lady Michonne meets and what happens during their encounter? The lady is one of the Saviors and Michonne purposely lured her out. Michonne tells her to take her to Negan, or she'll kill her. 3. Can you describe the iron scene? How graphic is it? The actual ironing itself, yes, it's graphic, but it's over pretty quickly. The scene leading up to it is the worst part. Daryl is there. Carl is there. And Negan forces Dwight to help. Of course, there's the classic Negan speech too. 4. Does Carl cry while singing? Yes, but Carl also cries when Negan forces him to remove his bandage and makes fun of how he looks. (Carl cries but he cries like a man, dammit!) 5. What happens when Carl first arrives at the Sanctuary? It happens pretty much like the comics. Carl is able to take out 2 of Negan's men before being overpowered by Dwight. But Negan doesn't kill Carl, and instead is thoroughly impressed and takes him on a tour of The Sanctuary. First stop is Negan's harem where Daryl and Dwight bring in a big plate of food for Negan. Negan makes sure that the Saviors eat vegetables that night, but he's the one who gets the big meat and cheese plate. He forces Carl to carry it around and treats him like a servant just like Daryl. Bonus: Negan really really likes Judith! He sits on the porch and rocks her to sleep. Gawd, it sounds like a truly horrid torture porn episode. This is so not why I originally became such a huge fan of the show. Nope, not watching this one. Edited December 1, 2016 by SnarkyTart grammar clarity 4 Link to comment

When has that been? The writers have been borrowing page for page since the beginning. They've taken many liberties too, but they've taken A LOT verbatim from the comics, especially when capturing the villains. Almost all the big villains we've seen on the show have been pretty much spot on from the comics. Negan is just not translating well to screen at all I think mainly because he has CDB by the balls and there's no reprieve in sight. At least with the Governor they won and lost some battles before finally winning the war against him. Here they are going to be on their knees for a while and still may never get the proper justice for Glenn and Abraham's deaths. From what I know, Negan is still alive and well in the comics and did not pay the ultimate price for the brutality and sadistic behavior he inflicted on CDB. He's obviously a favorite of Kirkman's so I'll be shocked if he lets Gimple kill him on the show but I guess we'll see. Edited December 5, 2016 by Enero 1 Link to comment
indeed December 5, 2016 Share December 5, 2016 (edited) Quote When has that been? The writers have been borrowing page for page since the beginning. Not in my opinion. The first few seasons they used the comic as more of a framework with bits and pieces lifted or modified. I remember a lot more complaints about the show not following along so closely back then. Since Gimple, it seems to be trying for more of a faithful retelling of the comic while still injecting original content. Edited December 5, 2016 by indeed One too many quote boxes. Link to comment

SnarkyTart December 6, 2016 Share December 6, 2016 Part 1 of detailed spoilers from The Spoiling Dead Fans Army. Episode 7.8 "Hearts Still Beating" Spoiler 1. We saw Negan at the dinner table in Rick’s house in the preview. What’s going on there? Spaghetti day at the Grimes’ house! Negan and Carl made spaghetti and biscuits together. (Hershel would be so proud!) 2. What's going on with Carol and Morgan? Morgan stops back at Carol's house with some food. While Carol tries to rush him out, Richard shows up with more supplies for her. He wants to discuss the Savior situation with Carol and Morgan. 3. Does Daryl escape? How? Yes. He slips out the cell with his mystery note. He follows a trail of matchsticks that leads to the exit. He has to evade some Saviors, and he sneaks inside Dwight's apartment to change clothes. He runs into Fat Joey outside and ends up killing him. Daryl spots Jesus hot-wiring a motorcycle. They both leave on bikes out the back gate Joey was guarding. 4. What happens with Rick and Aaron in the woods? They finally get to the houseboat after some tense and scary moments just getting there through the maze of floating walkers. They find some items and get them back to the truck. Although we don’t see who it is other than their boots, someone starts to follow them. 5. Does Michonne ever get home? Yes. She lets Isabelle go once she finds where the Sanctuary is. She returns home that evening to find Rick in the basement cell that Morgan built. She explains why she didn’t go with them. They need to fight Negan. To her surprise, Rick agrees. 6. Does Rosita use her bullet Eugene made her? Yes, but she hits Lucille instead. For punishment, Negan has Arat kill someone. So Arat shoots Olivia in the face. After Eugene admits he was the bullet maker, Negan takes Eugene back with him when the Saviors leave. It sounds like an action-packed episode. While it's not so Negan-centric, there's still a better than even chance we're going to get some more Negan monologues, and at least a little torture porn. I might watch this one only because it catches up with Carol, Morgan and Michonne, and it finally advances Daryl's storyline. 2 Link to comment

Look for more male disembowelment in this week's episode. Here's part 2 of the detailed spoilers from The Spoiling Dead Fans Army: Spoiler Q&A Episode 7.8 "Hearts Still Beating" Part 2: What's going on at the Hilltop? Maggie and Gregory have some words with each other. He seems jealous that people at Hilltop are talking about Maggie and Sasha and how great they are. Sasha lies to Maggie about Jesus' whereabouts. Enid knows the truth and questions Sasha about her lie. Does Rick see Negan holding Judith? No, he does not return in time for that. He does find out that Carl went to the Sanctuary however. What happens with Rick and Aaron after they return to ASZ? A couple Saviors go through their haul, and then beat the holy crap out of Aaron while Rick is forced to watch. Does Spencer get the guts to ask Negan about getting rid of Rick as the leader? He does, and Negan initially disagrees that he has guts, until he slices Spencer’s abdomen open, finding them. This all happens during a game of pool with several onlookers. Does Rick witness Negan gutting Spencer? No. He is helping Aaron to his house when they hear the shot from Rosita's gun ring out. By the time Rick gets to the pool table Spencer and Olivia are both dead. How does the episode end? Rick and the ASZ gang go to Hilltop to talk with Maggie, and Rick admits Maggie was right from the start. Surprise! Daryl is there! Rick and Daryl hug it out and Daryl presents Rick with his Python that he retrieved from Dead Joey. Very sweet reunions all around. Rick finally has his fight back and the group is ready to push forward against Negan. Then later on a shadowy figure hangs out at night peering at Father Gabriel standing watch at ASZ through binoculars. It shows their boots, the same ones that followed Rick and Aaron from the pond area. The figure starts off walking toward ASZ and disappears into the dark. 1 Link to comment

The Mighty Peanut December 9, 2016 Share December 9, 2016 (edited) Eugene might be ok with the saviors. They want something from him. There isn't really a need to make him work under torturous conditions. He's not Daryl. He's not even Dwight. He is coming pre-broken. His self-protection/cowardice might actually suit him because he'd kneel right away and establish himself as a non-threat. Negan has said in so many words (literally so many words...all the words, ever...again and again and again) he doesn't want to lose people who are useful; he just kills their friends to make a point. Eugene believes him. The question is whether he fully reverts to the coward he was pre-CDB and becomes indoctrinated, or hatches a secret plan and/or controls the flow of arms under Negan's nose.
