In five years, Josie will be 10 and likely all of the remaining children will be educated exclusively online via that computer program. Of course, that assumes that JB and M haven't taken all of the Devil Boxes (aka computers) out of the home after Josh's porn confession.

So it'll just be Wisdom Booklets. That'll be a good basis for living in the 21st century. Or the 12th.

The house was built in 2005. I think the dump across the street opened later than that, so it's possible that the original homeowners just got screwed. Or dumped on, in this case.

Good to know. Sorry they got dumped on. But I was questioning their sanity before. Now I'm just sorry for their bad luck. I can see why they got out of it quickly.

Re:the pictures of the new house....you guys crack me up..great captions..If you ask me, the front of that house looks exactly like Jill's wedding planner's house,(Vanessa was her name?) I wouldn't be surprised if it was her house they purchased.  What a waste of such  nice house on that family..like you said; a $2,000 stove for boiling water for Kraft Mac and Cheese... That looks like a lot of square footage for Jana to clean if you ask me. Poor CinderJana; more babies and dust rags for her. Anna can't possibly have the time to clean that house; she has to chase after 4 kids....and counting , PLUS keep tabs on Josh. What a life they have created for her.

The home would cost at least twice that much in my area. $350k aint bad, considering. That said, it's just an unremarkable McMansion.

I presume you don't live next to a dump, however!

No, but I would for a house that cheap!

I think the dump was there long before Jim Bob bought the TTH land. That's how they got it so cheap.

Boy, I sure wouldn't. Unlike Jinger, I aspire to something more than being within 15 minutes of a Walmart. When it come to real estate, I only really care about three things: location location location.

I feel for whoever built the house, but whoever bought it in 2008 (and now the Duggars) for nearly 400k next to a dump is crazy.

2008 is also the year that the housing market got so hothothot that it took its own big dump. I'm surprised RE has recovered enough in BFArkansas for such a price rebound.

Tax records put the value of the land at $40,000, and the house at $400,000. Is that a normal ratio?

I dunno.

But, to my mind, a $40,000. property is not a whole lot of money and, to me, it might not be in a neighborhood that would justify the building of a $350,000. house.

God, it must stink in their area. I can't imagine living next to a landfill, especially during the hot, humid summer months to say nothing about the toxins. No wonder half the Duggar offspring have that slack-jawed Deliverance look.

Now I'm going to keep thinking about the jingle on The Simpsons for Cletus, only it will be "Duggars the slack-jawed yokels."

That bath has jets, maybe Anna will enjoy it.

Hopefully it also has a handheld shower with massage settings.  That would give her more enjoyment than Josh ever could.

As far as the discussion of the Duggars living near the dump, are we sure none of the kids has a tail?  That would be yet another reason for the extreme modest dress.

  • Love 6

Not much heavy industry in the area, a good proportion of the landfill is probably just their own disposable plates, cups, cutlery, etc

That's probably why Waste Management located there. They analyzed the county and figured they'd save on gas by locating near the Duggar place.

  • Love 5

It's so poetic that they would not be mindful of the environment at all when they live right across from an active landfill.

A few days a week I work at a clinic in rural Indiana.  About 5-10 miles away from that office is a huge distillery.  I think they used to make Seagram's products there but now it's some other whiskey or bourbon.  I can smell it from my office/parking lot.  What do the Duggar's smell?  I can only imagine how bad the odors both inside and outside of their home are.

I didn't see this here, but now it becomes clear how Boob got the money to buy this place. Records show that Jill's McMansion sold the day before the purchase of the Pool House. So now we can cross that out as a potential "movin' on up" spot for Jessa. I can't believe that they'd stash Anna and four small kids in a place with an un-fenced pool, but then again, these people have absolutely no filter when it comes to safety.

arcountydata.com has the Jill McMansion, aka the kitten house, as currently owned by the JimChelle trust. Maps.live.com (in bird's eye view) shows that the gilded pool house does have a pool fence. Not a single tree on the acreage though.

There isn't a fence between the house and the pool. The children can walk out two different doors and into the pool.

The FJ thread noted sales activity on the property on 9/22. We can't link the info here, so go to the Joshly Madison thread there and check it out. :)

Hmm. We should probably wait and see what the county records say in a month or so. That property is the last in Benton county to be in the name of JimChelle's trust, it may just be a belated transfer to Duggar Properties LLC. Edited by Kokapetl

I just checked out the bribery house on FJ, and it's nice considering it's across the street from rotting garbage. That pool would give me fits though. It's awfully close to the two back doors. I also wouldn't want to deal with my in-laws coming over every day to use the pool in the summer months. That will get old fast.

Damn you guys I went to FJ and got sucked in by all the Jill R. threads. Now I will have nightmares about her creepy husband.

Ah, but I bet you have a zillion new hair, makeup, & fashion tips! In fact, I bet you're going through your closet right now and arranging things by outfit, down to the accessories. Purpose to run to Walmart tonight to get a crapload of hairspray and mascara!

Oh, yuck. No trees? I literally could not purchase a home without trees on the property. Taller-than-the-house trees.

Article about a book on the origins and purposes of Duggar-type homeschooling and so on, and how it departs from older Protestant ideas about schooling and so on:

https://homeschoolersanonymous.wordpress.com/2015/09/29/building-gods-kingdom-a-book-review/

'What I would argue is the consistent and reoccurring theme of Building God’s Kingdom is that both liberals and conservatives have misinterpreted and thus misunderstood the overwhelming influence CR has had on 21st century American Christian conservatism. “Both the alarmists and their critics misunderstand the influence of the Reconstructionists,” she writes. “Their influence is subtle, implicit, and hidden.”[vii] This is often intentionally so, Ingersoll argues: “Reconstructionists often argue in favor of bringing about these changes in ways that won’t be recognized by the rest of us for what they are. They call it ‘being wise as serpents.’”[viii]

'Reconstructionists have been wildly successful in their efforts. “Little slivers of Rushdoony’s work seem to be everywhere,”[ix] Ingersoll says. She highlights how CR ideas, which run counter to so much of the ideological foundations of other conservative and fundamentalist Christians, have infiltrated those conservative and fundamentalist cultures so thoroughly that the foundations of the CR ideas have replaced those other subcultures’ foundations, even when the ideas themselves are either rejected or unknown. That infiltration is deliberate and intentional by means of the CR pioneering of the Christian schooling and Christian homeschooling movements: “Reconstructionist ideas made their way into evangelical and fundamentalist churches through study guides and Christian school (and later homeschool) curriculum, giving rise to an integrated worldview and a distinct subculture.”[x]

'Most of Ingersoll’s book is dedicated to the task of tracing Reconstructionist ideas and how they fed into those movements. The depth and breadth of that influence surprised even me, who grew up in the Christian homeschooling movement. Ingersoll shows how Rushdoony and his many influential followers shaped the very contours of the Christian schooling and Christian homeschooling movements;'

I think this is pretty accurate. I don't think we collectively are nearly alarmed enough at the insidious penetration of CR priorities into mainstream culture and (even worse) government.

I've said many times to people "when did the Christians take over the republican party?" and I always get a blank look. Its like no one has even noticed. Wake up people.

Wondering if the new house is for Boob and Mechelle?

And thanks for the PMs of the house. Pretty nice for a country house.

First off I live in the Windy City (Chicago) hairspray is always in my house. I also coupon so I got said hairspray (Vidal Sasson) for free!! Jill and Boob ain't got nothing on me!

Funny because I was thinking that Michelle would probably like that house now that her kids are all grown and all...

I'm thinking the same thing. I say they are going to turn the TTH into some kind of boarding house under the guise of it being church related of course so Boob can get a tax writeoff of some sort.

Perhaps this house will be their new "home church" meeting place for their little congregation of sheeple. The pool is for baptisms -- obviously.

How much would they have to pay you to be baptized in a Duggar pool? You know they'll never take the time to properly clean it and the kids will be peeing in it regularly. Be sure to bring your own chlorine tabs:)
