That mistake really made me laugh hard. If Frankie saw that, he'd flip his shit.

Otherwise, I don't know any of the other contestants. Can I say that they're C and D list celebrities?

Yeah, they mostly are but unless Christopher Biggins has to drop out early for some reason he'll probably win it hands down. He's beloved over there by older viewers and I think he'll win over younger viewers. I predict "Broadway actor Freddie Grande" will be voted out very early.

I don't believe BB will air mid-September, there's no place to air it. All the prime time shows will be back, that's what makes BB a summer show. They've got the available timeslots they don't have in the fall.

It only aired out of the summer that other time because of the writers strike.

Yeah, this Adam Cook guy who is supposedly casting is giving me some weird vibes. I'm trying to look him up, to see if he's legit.

I'm going to lean toward no, this is fake and a hoax. It's too soon to cast, it's also too close to the supposed 'deadline' for when they'd air BB19, and Adam Cook's posters for BB19 look so, so, so bad and Photoshopped. Plus, I'm looking at his followers to see if anyone verified is following him, as that's usually an excellent indication that this person is also legit. Adam from season 13 is following him....I got bored halfway through scrolling, but nobody else from Big Brother is following him. He may be a casting director, but he's certainly not one for Big Brother. Not officially, anyway.

Pretty much. Channel 5 was bought a couple of years ago by a parent company that also owns MTV UK, and the BBUK producers have clearly been pressured to cast people from its shitty shows. CBB's always relied a little on D-listers (aside from usual reality TV mainstays like Stephen Baldwin and LaToya Jackson, popular targets include tabloid columnists, soap stars, and members of those Spice Girls knockoffs the UK kept churning out in the late 90s), but it's been getting out of control the last couple of years. That said, this cast is bizarrely lacking in starpower, and I would not be surprised if there were more people who hadn't been announced yet, especially with an uneven gender divide and with the BBUK house this season having a smaller second house next door.

In other news, Jamie from BB1 just made a billion dollars.

There is a world of difference between the popularity polls of BB Network and Joker's Updates. For example, Paulie is in the top 5 on BB Network and nearly at the bottom for Jokers. Any theories as to why?

Jokers more accurately reflects my feelings.

So, I guess it's officially confirmed: BB19 to air in Fall on CBS All Access.

Hollywood Reporter makes an excellent point about how BB19 could fail miserably because of it premiering so soon after BB18 ends. This season is already looking to be a flop, so I don't think BB19 is going to make things better, especially if this season ends on a low note. Even if it's only 10 weeks, I don't think anyone wants to watch a new season so soon after this one. It is 'viewer fatigue', as they put it. I truly think BB19 will be one of the lowest rated seasons, especially since it won't be on TV (and I don't think anyone other than Americans could watch the episodes now). As a Canadian, I'm not going out of my way to find a way to watch the show other than finding a stream. I don't know how CBS All Access works but I don't think this is a good move because international audience will find it harder to watch.

Plus, this is supposed to be mindless summer entertainment. The fall is busy for television, and I don't think many people are going to go out of their way to not only find three additional hours a week to watch the episodes, but I certainly doubt that people will have the time that more viewers now have during the summer to watch the live feeds. So yeah, my prediction is that it'll be a big flop and they'll never do this again.

The thing I hate most about this is that I know I'll still watch it lol.

ETA: The only thing that could potentially be good is that maybe with it being online/less time they might get a more diverse cast of people other than 20 year old idiots they found at a club.

My TV journalist friend says it's known as BB 18 2.0 in the biz!

I really wish it was a celebrity version or at least one with recognizable reality TV stars from Survivor and The Amazing Race.

I skipped S9 because winter is not time for this mindless show. Same thing with the upcoming fall. It's a summer guilty pleasure...period. How many idiots can one take in one year?

Allison Grodner will be producing (boo!) and Julie will be the host (yay!). I believe I read somewhere else that it won't be Kass that's casting though, but I might be making that up.

Well, seeing as this guy named Adam Cooke or something started the 'rumours' of BB19 and claimed he was the new casting director, I think it's safe to say that it's not Kass and it's that guy.

I feel like TPTB BB Gods are giving me a second chance.  I've not dedicated my self to the show this summer and I've been feeling guilty for paying attention to real life.  Now I have can ignore my Autumn obligations!

So, Derrick is on Rob Cesternino's podcast. I am one of the rare ones who like Derrick and I can admit I'm probably getting misted by him, but I kind of think that he's right on a lot of points, but also wrong on others. I figure it's ok to post here without spoilers.

Basically some bullet points without spoilers (but you have to be caught up on tonight's episode!!!!!)

  • He didn't defend Paulie's actions, as he chose to stay out of all of that. He said that he wouldn't say most of the things Paulie has; he said that he would have never played Paulie's current game and he did talk to Paulie for an hour on the phone, but Paulie took nothing that Derrick coached him on to the game. He basically boiled Paulie down to 'stupid'.
  • Derrick also hates Paulie's haircut.
  • He wants a woman to win; particularly, he has nothing but good things to say about Natalie, heavily implying that he wants her to win. He even said that Natalie might have over-exaggerated the whole Paulie situation (specifying that he does think that Paulie was in the wrong) but that's an excellent game move. He also thinks that Natalie's playing her cards right and also implied her to be a mastermind. I think Derrick's rooting for Natalie, which makes ME happy.
  • He doesn't like James' game at all and chalks him to be there for America and Natalie only.
  • He doesn't think Michelle will win; it doesn't sound like he likes her much. Rob and another guy Taran disagree.
  • He thinks Nicole's a great girl but not playing a good game. He thinks that she's been playing passively to stay in the majority but she can turn around from this if they keep her. He thinks that they should get Nicole next.
  • He thinks Paul will skate to the end, but he also could go in the next couple of weeks.
  • Derrick thinks Paul/Victor are going to be big targets in the next week or two.

I wondered how someone was supposed to watch the show who wasn't in the US.  I was in Europe for 10 days and my cbs.com didn't work to view episodes (even including my all access pass) on my ipad.

As for BB19 or 18v2.0 or 18.5, I wouldn't really care that much to watch the show just on All Access.  I enjoy watching with my kids and it would be a lot more difficult for us to crowd around a computer or ipad screen to watch.  As others have said, we can keep up with BB in the summer because of fewer obligations, including other TV shows (just few other short summer shows).  But in the fall, the kids have school/homework/sports, and there's usually several additional TV shows on our list.

If you do decide to watch, all you need (assuming you already have CBS All Access and wireless internet) is a $40 Fire stick or Roku to watch it on your tv.   That's how my daughter and I watch.

I really hate CBS All Access, though, due to the commercials.  I'd rather pay more and not have them, like the upgraded Hulu option.

I'd just buy the CBS shows I want on Amazon Prime but CBS does this charming thing where they don't release the Survivor finale to Amazon for streaming until like 4 days after it airs vs. the one day usual delay, which is bullshit.

I posted that above Wed. 8/31.  The next morning I got on CBS All Access on the PC and noticed that as of 9/1 it's now an option!  Commercial free for like $10/month.  Yay.  It's still a clunky channel but at least I won't have to sit through the same few pharma commercials over and over and over.

I am out. I am not paying to watch this silly show. Hell, I barely watched during the season this year

Same here.  The only way I will watch it is if someone posts the episodes on YouTube.  Which is actually the way I watch BBCan and Australian Survivor.

This has got to be the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen.

Wow, what a boring party.Half empty and of the ones that are there, they look to be poseurs trying to look important. No wonder Paul and Victor didn't want to be within 100 feet of that place. Great proof that Paulie and Z are exactly the way we expected. I certainly wouldn't want her teaching my kids - she comes across as a dumb preening fool, I almost feel as if she deserves that misogynistic cretin.

Curious if Cory and Nicole are there, though and if her win had any effect on what he planned to do at the wrap party. Or if that was just talk in the first place, so nobody would take the showmance seriously.

Zakiyah looked WAAAY more into Paulie, that Paulie is into her.

Having said that, Zakiyah looked awesome, but who was her friend in the leather jacket and skin-tight leopardskin-print bodysuit (who appeared to be named  'Everett').  Because Everett looked smoking hot in that outfit.

Not sure if you're joking/being sarcastic, but that was Amber from BB16.

I didn't watch any video/snaps from BB17's events, but BB16 was 25x more live than this. There were a lot more alum, fans, and some actual celebrities (in addition to Ariana). Paulie attended those as well and I'm sure he is a little miffed that the turnup isnt quite as turnt as he expected! Zakiyah looks and acts like a dumb bimbo.

No surprise that Paul/Vic weren't there. This was a loser event. Also funny that those two are slated for B&B and none of the others are so far.

I didn't recognize Amber at all -- but it didn't sound like the camera guy in the video called her Amber, that's why I was confused.
But she did look really hot in that outfit.  :)

Oh.my.God.  That was awful.  Nice to see Paulie being a douche per usual.  These people are locked up for 99 days and this is what constitutes a party?

Z - What the hell is that?  Between her and Paulie they seem like an alien couple.

Nicole - What the hell was she wearing?

Michelle - same old same old

Paul - throwing up gang signs, really?  How very 10 years ago of you.

Frank - what an asshole.

Interesting choices they have for most and least favorite houseguests. I don't hate a lot of their answers. Are these people potentially all fans? Or at least somewhat familiar with the show. I guess we'll find out later if Jason or Jozea was added.

The sisters are interesting.  It seems like Alex is a fan of the show and Morgan was cast just for being her sister and she watched one season in preparation.

Are you a fan of Big Brother? Did you apply to be on the show?

Yeah, yeah, I'm a fan of Big Brother. I applied and got called out here for an interview. I did a couple of Skype interviews. One thing led to another and here I am.

Who has been your favorite winner over the years?

Recently Victor [Arroyo]. I don't  know if he won or anything, but I liked the way he played. His resiliency, how he kept fighting. And Hayden Moss, I liked him for season 12.

Who is your least favorite winner?

Who's the guy who won it the year before this past year?

That doesn't sound like someone who is a fan of the show.  He couldn't name any winner besides the person who he thought might win this season?  That's weird. Oh wait he said Hayden. I still think it's a weird answer.

I'm in the central time zone so I don't really mind a live eviction at 10 pm... but HOH comp at 11?? Dear lord BB, some people have to work on Thursdays lol

So I don't really understand why everything is running so late on Wednesday unless they're worried about prime time shows.

Well, here comes another season of Big Brother. Perceptions of these new houseguests based just on their bios (haven't watched their video interviews)?

Shane seems very generic. Scott looks like Steve 2.0, but he actually named names of houseguests that most people couldn't name, so it's good to confirm that he's for sure a superfan. Justin's generic as well, but since he's playing for America, screw that guy. Whitney sounds annoying, especially since she wants to be in a showmance. Neely is, of course, cast as the sassy black chick, although I did laugh at her calling Ian a big whiny baby. Danielle seems like she's going to be a talker, but hey, a young mother! At least this season is only a few weeks instead of the full three months, so being away from her child is understandable. She might be one of my favourites so far (but hey, it'll most likely change).

Michael AKA Cornbread? Cornbread? What kind of nickname is that? I see he's the "old guy" in the season. I think he's trying to be Donny, but this guy seems like a tool with his bragging about his 3,000 friends on Facebook and his Redneck Youtube channel. Monte seems to have only watched season 12, and he seems like a total idiot and possibly a Frat Boy 2.0. He says that he's totally smart and he could be, but his "fun facts" do not make it seem that way. Kryssie seems like a total mean girl who's very self absorbed. The biggest thing she says that will be difficult about living in the house is about her walking away from her band when they were already going through some troubles. She also has at least seen season 11, so there's that. Shelby....looks a little like Shelli from season 17. She also has clearly seen just season 12 as she loves Hayden because he was hot and she hates Monet/Britney. Alex seems more interesting than the other HGs, at least. Maybe a little weird with her connection with people on different "layers". And she hates James! She might be my favourite thus far. And Morgan, who has only seen season 16 and has Frankie and Nicole as her favourites and is clearly going to annoy the hell out of me. Anyone who lists Frankie as a favourite is on my immediate dislike list. But unfortunately, she's probably going to make it far.

So, twelve houseguests plus Jason? So, thirteen houseguests in all. How many weeks is this going on? I guess it's going on a lot longer.

Basically, the boys all suck and two of the girls are semi interesting. So basically, I'm rooting for nobody except maybe Alex. I don't know.

So, the people who can vote for the winner at the end, I hope you choose wisely and don't choose the fame whores.
