You may be my all-time favorite Bachelor couple!! If I ever found a relationship that witty, fun, and playful, I would never let it go. Between the snow angels, the fantasy suite discussion, the throwing snowballs at her window, their (clearly should have been first place) ice dance, and their super amazing cross-country road trip, I was nearly crying at how perfect they are. I, also, was wondering about what visas they managed to get, because I've been in two serious international relationships and it is near impossible to get someone over here. Work visas are like unicorns and very difficult to obtain. Otherwise you can be in the country 90 days on a visa waiver, absolutely no more than that. So thanks for the info on entertainment visas! I was curious. I think it says something that the two final couples who chose NOT to go to the fantasy suite had much more romantic dates than the two who did. I'm so mad that Ashley I & Partner won 1st place just because she lost her virginity on TV. There's no other way! They were clearly bronze. Dean and Lesley just seem like they're trying too hard. I keep getting really annoyed at this misconception that New Zealanders would know nothing about winter sports. They get their fair share of snow in NZ! Especially in the South Island! You'll find mountains and glaciers and ski slopes. It's not a year-round hot country like Australia at all. I'm a fan of Jordan's shaved head! Rebecca from Sweden looks just like Jennifer Morrison. Luke, you absolute fucking prick!! I can't believe I actually bought into his feelings for Stassi! What a first-class asshole. Good on her for totally calling him out in front of the audience. Of course those conversations never happened. And thank you ABC for playing the commercial break footage. The way his eyes went dead as soon as she was trying to have a serious conversation with him... he's the worst kind of human. And I'm tearing up at Clare and Benoit! Aaaahh!! How did the Bachelor pull off this amazing after show? If the Bachelor Pad where Nick took the money for himself was the best ever Wrong Reasons reunion, this is easily the best Right Reasons reunion. I'm so happy for these silly reality TV contestants. Please more of this in the future! I love your entire post, but re: the bolded....YES! I couldn't quite express what I was feeling with them and you hit the nail on the head! 4 Link to comment

I saw this article earlier but couldn't link it from my tablet. I also saw one where Stassi must have been asked if she would do the Bachelorette and she said she would be open to it. Wouldn't that be poetic justice that Luke the famewhore who wanted to be the Bachelor so bad had to watch the woman he treated so terribly become the Bachelorette? I almost want to see that happen just for that reason alone. Edited February 24, 2018 by yorklee2 8 Link to comment

At least ONCE. He is such a jackass, and his interview did nothing to change my opinion about that. I also call BS on his saying he told Stassi anything. If he had told her his time on the show had made him realize he really was "in love with" his ex after all, the editing monkeys would have been all over that and we would have seen that convo for at least one-half hour, plus closeups of Stassi's tears as Luke "broke her heart." GracieK February 24, 2018 Share February 24, 2018 Luke is a sociopath of the worst kind. Not only did he constantly try to convince the audience that there were genuine feelings, but he really preyed on Stassi's vulnerabilities and obvious guardedness.. he kept reassuring her that everything was on her terms but that he was serious about them and how deeply he felt. Ugh I feel gross after watching that reunion. She was emotional and he was just a robot repeating yeah and staring off into the distance, a totally different person. adhoc February 25, 2018 Share February 25, 2018 So, in Luke's interview, he basically implies that Stassi's account of how they left things at the end the show was a lie. Nice. I have a theory of my own about Luke. We knew, courtesy of bloggers such as Reality Steve, that Luke was dating Holly Allen prior to going on the show. From what I've read, it's not like they were ever publicly broken up. (Kind of like Ben Higgins, who was reported to be dating a gal named Lindsey Duke right up until the Bachelor Winter Games started filming.) I personally believe--and this is just my opinion, you may disagree--that Luke told his girlfriend, Holly, he was going on this new Bachelor spin-off for just a couple of weeks, did not plan to hook up with anyone during the short filming period, and it would be great publicity for him and his music career. And I suspect she either didn't want him to go (but he did it anyway) or she begrudgingly agreed as long as he didn't actually pair up with anyone. Then I think he came home after the filming and had to break it to Holly at some point that, okay, he did make a "kind of" connection with one girl on the show, and Holly would see that when it aired, but it was no big deal, he was just faking it for the cameras, playing the game so he didn't get sent home, he never even slept with the Stassi, etc. I imagine Holly was upset to learn that he'd been snogging another woman and let him know it. Fast forward to the WTA segment, which I think was filmed a couple of months after the main filming (long enough for Clare to have a change of heart about Benoit). By then, Luke had soothed Holly's ruffled feathers (again, just my theory), but he also knew that she would be watching the WTA. So he had to be very careful in what he said or did during that taping so that Holly would be appeased. The less he engaged with Stassi, by action or words, the better. I don't believe for a nanosecond that Luke Pell had any "epiphany" during the filming, as he stated in the interview--an epiphany in which he realized that he "still" loved his ex, because I don't believe Holly was his ex. I believe that, like other male contestants in the Bachelor franchise, he went on the show while he had a girlfriend. This new story is just spin to salvage his career. That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it. (Unless someone has information to the contrary. :-) ) 12 Link to comment

His girlfriend may have known before hand and he conned her with the scenario you gave but I think more likely she knew and didn't agree for him to go on but with his track record he was cocky enough to think that she would take him right back when he fed her more lines, "she never meant anything to me" and "I had to pretend for the cameras and make it seem real". And it worked which is why guys like him keep thinking they can get away with that kind of behaviour. Because they never have to face consequences. But I absolutely believe part of his attitude at WTA was due to him trying to keep up the story he had fed her. Either way he's a deceiver and manipulator and she would be smart to run as far away from him as possible. Edited February 25, 2018 by yorklee2 2 Link to comment

saber5055 February 25, 2018 Share February 25, 2018 (edited) I'm with Adhoc's story about Luke and the fake ex, but I'm thinking the girlfriend went along with it so Luke would get more teevee time, more Instagram followers, more music gigs and become more famous than just D List and she'd be along for that ride. Luke is living in Nashville so you know he's pimping his music ... which, interestingly, this franchise has never mentioned once, I wouldn't know if it weren't for you posters telling me. Anyway, girlfriend figures he'll come home this super popular guy and she'll be famous too by association. So, how's that working for you Luke and Holly? ETA: I tried not to watch that soft-porn kissing match, it was so gross, but I do remember Stassi passionately kissing Luke while he pretty much just stood there. nicgwatchingtv February 25, 2018 Share February 25, 2018 (edited) Jojo's season was so terrible that I barely managed to fast forward through the episodes but I clearly remember my perception of Luke taking a nosedive as the season progressed. By the end I couldn't stand him and would not have watched him as the Bachelor (and I'll give pretty much anyone a try). He didn't even do anything in particular that bugged (not that I remember anyway)... he just seemed nasty as hell. Then, of course, after that season there were all those stories of him being a highly manipulative player. And in the meantime, he's also seemed shifty or dull as dirt in every interview and podcast. I really wished they'd left him by the proverbial roadside rather than bringing him back for BWG. But the did. And what a surprise. He was shifty and nasty and manipulative some more and still playing the "ah shucks, that's not what I meant" routine. Its actually pretty hard to reconcile the reality tv *uck-boy that he is with the idea that he's also a West Point athlete. Edited February 25, 2018 by nicgwatchingtv 3 Link to comment
Token February 25, 2018 Share February 25, 2018 I found it hilarious that Lily was complaining about having the sex appeal of a wet sock in her ice dancing outfit. Honey, we've all seen your mom jeans and hideous denim culottes. They don't exactly scream sex appeal, so that ice dancing outfit is nothing! Seeing Courtney on the ice, I saw just how skinny his legs are. Dude needs to eat a sandwich or two because he looks like a slight puff of wind might break him. SO, NOW Ashley decides to shut up about her fucking virginity. You should have shut up a long time ago. I'm not complaining, I'm actually quite enjoying an Ashley who doesn't speak much. Long may it continue! I don't buy it for a second that Clare will get married. She enjoys the drama too much. And I feel bad for Benoit that he needs to chase someone like her. I think Dean and Lesley's kiss was TOO performed. They weren't trying to be goofy together, they were trying to show off for the cameras. They were both pretty arrogant this episode and I like that Rachel gave them a little push back. Dean is super cocky and Lesley thinks she's "winning" this thing. They could both handle being brought down a peg. I disagree. It was a completely ridiculous and embarrassing activity to be judged on, and in my opinion, they responded to it in the only way you can when you're told to do something more appropriate in the first coed party you attend (say, when you're 11 or 12). Rachel had already lost a lot of her appeal to me and this appearance really nailed it. She came across as a total bitch. But when he was asked if he'd be the next bachelor , he said no and that he wasn't ready for it .. even he knew he would not be ready to get engaged so instead he went on the more casual / fun hook up shows . He never told any of these girls that he was ready to settle down . They see how he is and he's told them how he is . If the girls choose to chase after him , that to me shows more about their immaturity than his that being said , he's about as surface level as a person gets Yes, he definitely is the sort of guy you get involved with strictly for his looks and having a good time. The editing on Rachel's Bachelorette definitely did him a favour - he came across as far more mature. No wonder she dropped him. Granted, I don’t usually watch much of Paradise, so I guess there may have been worse, but I found this to be tacky and gross. If three people don’t deem your kisses/chemistry steamy enough, pack your bags. What if you really feel it, but neither of you are great kissers? I thought this show was different and had some promise when it started, but obviously I, once again, overestimated these people. They had something similar on the first Bachelor in Paradise I think - the men had to be kissed by all of the women and guess who was who. I would have wanted to drop out if I had to do that...ewwww so it was even worse than this one. But it does make you wonder about the maturity level of the producers. I vote no. I want ridiculous idiots doing wrong reasons things pretending they’re on a journey. I realized while watching people kiss that I quickly start to find it unattractive. I did think JoJo and Arie had more fun than Rachel did. She seemed to miss how completely over the top stupid this was supposed to be. I agree with y’all that Ashley’s fashion sense is a thing of horror. She actually makes herself look worse. What the crap girl?! Especially since Christian may have heard about the Corinne-Demario controversy (also in water) and with #MeToo especially, been afraid to do anything that approached not getting explicit verbal consent first. And remember he was going to run for public office after his season but ABC said he couldn't. Who thinks that starring in the Bachelor merits holding public office? Ben did! And apparently he wanted to host the Winter Games with Chris Harrison, but they said no. So who thinks being the Bachelor merits stealing Chris Harrison's job from under him? Ben did! I know we all knock Sean Lowe for showing up constantly but he has pretty much stayed in his lane and pursued cheesy opportunities with a sense of humor. Ben, however, seems to treat his Bachelor position as a launch pad to pretty much any opportunity he sets his eyes on. I'm sensing some serious, self-absorbed, special snowflake vibes from him, and I think Lauren did too, and cut and ran. Good reminder. I'm not familiar with Ben at all, not having watched him appear on either show, but I do remember him trying to run for the Republicans. Another person I hope never to see on any Bachelor show. Hey Hannah, Linsey Vonn is from Minnesota!! Well, congratulations Leslie. I was hoping Claire would hold the lead. I like how they had "Future Bond Villain" under Jordan's picture, just before he skied. So Courtney is a Wiggles Wannabe. Ben didn't really want the date card. So Christian Loves Hasselhoff. And Kevin is Canadian Bacon. Kevin listens to Ashley talking about being a virgin while chewing a mouth full of food. Speaking of his mouth, it's kind of weird. He's got a snarly thing going with his lips. I don't know if his teeth are crooked or his jaw is misaligned. And why is their pottery death reminding me of that sex therapy date from Chris's (?) season? Who knows. A critical moment in Clair and Christian's relationship: a date in the Jacuzzi! That Jacuzzi is pretty loud. So Clair likes actions better than words. I don't think this relationship has a future. Clair doesn't want to get to know the guy, she just wants him to kiss her. She measures the strength of a relationship on physical action. Maybe he just respects her and sees her as more than just a pretty collection of body parts. Clair should talk about relationships... Michael sure is invisible. All this talk about Tiffany and Ben being "single", what about the Michael? He picked Tiffany, didn't he? Aw, I teared a little when Ben left and Yuki cried. Wow, people are really dropping like flies. Well maybe Clair will spurn Christian and he'll turn to Yuki. Or maybe Chris Harrison will date her. It reminds me of Phil philiminating someone on The Amazing Race. Aw, I liked Yuki. She was so sweet, I always looked to see where she was. She's kind of like the little baby sister. Michael? Who WAS that? I don't know anything about him, what show he was on, I don't think I ever saw him talk to another housemate, I have Nothing. I completely agree about Kevin. His mouth is so off putting, but then again, so is Ashley. I originally thought she was attractive when I first saw her, but now all I see is tons of makeup, some work done, and a ridiculous parody of a human being. On 22/02/2018 at 9:44 PM, Lamb18 said: Dean and Leslie - that was interesting. Oh come on Rachel, it's just goofy fun. It's not Top Chef or Project Runway or something serious like that. Jojo reaching to watch Kevin and Ashley. Poor Ally, how embarrassing to vomit instead of kiss on national TV. Josiah is a brave man to kiss someone with vomit mouth. Maybe the judges should hold up score cards. Score cards would have been great! And Josiah and Ally should have been kept - even if they had to make it a non-elimination event. Talk about going the extra mile to stay in this - for Josiah having the guts to go ahead and kiss her post vomiting, and Ally for going ahead when it was probably the last thing she wanted to do. I would have wanted to go down and sleep after. On 22/02/2018 at 10:39 PM, fib said: Oh yes. She brought the sass this episode, but it was NOT flattering. I was #teampeter, so I soured on her a lot at the end of her season. I didnt begrudge her anger with Peter, but I hated the way she treated him on the aftershow, when she knew it was always Brian, andshe could see he was still hurt. YMMV. But seeing her dump on Dean confirmed it for me - she is a mean girl. I'm over it, just like I am with pretty much every other lead: Nick, Ben, Kaitlyn, Andi. Yes, it can't be said enough about mean Rachel is...definitely puts the background in her Bachelor blogs. I guess the lawyering is over now....she seems to be involved in the franchise pretty much full time - well, with that and organizing the wedding. Which I predict will be over in a couple of years. On 23/02/2018 at 1:45 AM, backformore said: I don't know - having to "compete" by making out with someone in front of others is pretty weird - especially when it's a new relationship. Just inappropriate to "judge" kissing, and to think that you can judge a relationship by how passionate they are when kissing in front of others. Rachel was a bitch. The Kevin and Ashley pottery date was hilarious to me. they were trying to recreate the scene from the movie "Ghost", even played some music that was not "Unchained Melody", but was supposed to remind us of that song. Ashley I's clothes always look to me like costumes. I don't understand the whole international thing. If you meet someone from another country, with the language/culture differences, plus living on different continents - how does a relationship work? Bibianna looks so much better on this show than she did on the Bachelor. Yes, Rachel is/was a bitch. Not valid criticisms, just mean. Kevin and Ashley don't seem like a real couple to me. If I was a judge, they are the two that I would have sent packing. I liked Luke and Stassi the best. Ashley needs a stylist, badly. And yes, it's amazing how much better Bibianna looks here. 2 Link to comment
nicgwatchingtv February 26, 2018 Share February 26, 2018 (edited) I just don't get the constant selling of Ashley I as a sweet member of the Bachelor family. She might be lovely 90% but god help anyone who likes some guy who either doesn't like her at all or likes her somewhat but less than he likes someone else. She was thoroughly nasty to Whitney, to Claire and to Caila and was gearing up to be pretty nasty to Bibi too. And that's before we get into what a manipulative, calculating shrew she can be when trying to come between some guy and a girl he might be interested in. Also, on a petty note: I always thought she was beautiful but she is not aging well at all and with those giant stretched lips all coated in layers of red she's looking psycho. edited to add: there is not spoiler. I don't know how it got on there and it won't let me delete the box. Spoiler Edited February 26, 2018 by nicgwatchingtv 4 Link to comment

Why couldn't she have told Jordan that they could keep talking long-distance, potentially visit each other, and take it from there? It didn't sound like Jordan was asking for a lifetime commitment that very second. Mark my words, if Ashley and Kevin decide to get married, TPTB will be throwing money at them to televise the wedding. He's such a loser. Stassi dodged a bullet, and she must be so happy now that she stuck to her values and didn't go to the F-Suite with him. I loved her sassy comebacks - "was I alive for that?" I have a bad feeling about Clare and Benoit. I'll be happy if they prove me wrong, but they were completely over the top after only two months of long-distance dating. I predict they'll fizzle out within the next six months. Bibi seems highly unbalanced, and that's a conclusion I reached from watching her twice. There's creative editing, and then there is giving the producers that kind of material in the first place. Definitely don't want to see her again in any medium. Those meltdowns are just NOT entertaining to watch. On 23/02/2018 at 1:26 AM, Llama said: Oh Australia is soooo on my list too. I'd take Jordan!! LOL! Thanks!! i'm still scratching my head at how quickly Bibiana lost it with Jordan. Though she was really working my nerves during their rehearsal. I'm surprised he didn't bring that up when talking to her. I really liked Jordan too, although I do prefer him with hair than not. I did notice that he is starting a bald spot (it's visible from the back) so it was probably pre-emptive hair styling. That accent more than makes up for any hair deficiencies anyway. And yes, I would have expected that Jordan would have been the one to drop her after seeing how horribly she treated him thru the dance practice. Who cares? This isn't really the Olympics. It was almost as if she made the whole thing up so she wouldn't have been embarrassed by their performance on ice. On 23/02/2018 at 9:37 AM, ByTor said: LOL! I have a sneaking suspicion this has nothing to do with race and everything to do with ABC (or whoever it is that owns the show) getting them on the green card fast track. I really thought these two were genuine, but now that I'm hearing about this move to LA, my cynical self says they have "wrong reasons" written all over them. I'm pretty disappointed, I must say. So did I, until I heard the condescending tone she used with Christian...I'm not sure how popular this is, but I didn't think he was so bad. And I didn't get her talking about their "misunderstanding." He said he'd meet her in the Jacuzzi and she said "it's a date." I'm not sure what could have been misunderstood. I don't think it's wrong reasons with Lily and Courtney. When I was last there, it was customary to take a year of saved vacations and go traveling around the world. Maybe they thought this would be a great opportunity to spend the year in the U.S. with their visa, and take part in Bachelor Nation activities. If they had any interest in breaking into the entertainment world back home, this is a chance to get some rare opportunities under their belt. I think they have a good chance of actually remaining a couple when the year is done. I am not so sure about Kevin and Ashley, and I think Dean and Lesley are just here for a good time, not a long time. I also don't think Lesley is being exploited. If you are a little insecure about your body after a double mastectomy, getting together with the best looking guy there (no matter how shallow), is going to do wonders for your self confidence. She can take those memories into the future, when she is ready for an actual partner. On 23/02/2018 at 9:48 AM, Jaclyn88 said: Luke is the worst type of guy ... the " I like you so much ... we have such a strong connection " type that makes you fall for them and when they do what he did to stassi, you just keep replaying in your head all the nice guy stuff they said to you and realize that person is a sociopath . I mean it's funny to even really criticize him because the taping was only 10 days long .. but I guess when you're hanging out with people 24 hours a day for 10 days you can get close and we all saw the things he said to her . My guess as to why he said all those things and stayed with her as a couple was because he knew he'd get kicked off and sent home and couldn't get his full screen time that he wanted . I had to laugh when Clare gave her speech about people who want to come on the show for more instagram followers are terrible because even though I think she did really want to find someone , she's been on the show at least 4 times !! That screams reality fanewhore to me Yes to the max. On 23/02/2018 at 9:51 AM, yorklee2 said: Yeah I'm sure Bibiana thinks everyone feels so sorry for her. Or at least that was her intentions. She came off more a whiner than anything. I don't feel sorry for her. That was such a lame move from Dean. I noticed she seemed kind of let down after expecting a proposal but quickly hid it. He thought he was being so clever and per his usual immature self didn't stop to think how that would make her feel. Especially on national TV. I wonder how long she's going to waste her time with him. Sometime after JoJo's season I saw a video on YouTube I think it was where two women that Luke had dated joined together to make a video about what a player he was. They were warning other ladies to steer clear of him. I guess I'm shallow, because I only thought very good looking or very charming men are players. Luke is neither. He looked the best in his skating outfit, but overall I didn't really think of him as attractive. I also read some of the comments before watching the last two episodes, and I was surprised that he was even worse than I expected. And he did seem believable to me when he was acting as if he really cared about Stassi and was incredibly attracted to her. It's not as if he turned down the Fantasy Suite, she did, so I would be really pissed off if I was his girlfriend back home. I was watching Lesley closely. She looked as if she was totally in on the joke from the get-go, in my opinion. I don't think she was dismayed or surprised by the fake proposal. Probably the key to Dean's place is the best any woman could get in this point of time from him. If that really is his key.... On 23/02/2018 at 9:57 AM, TheFinalRose said: Bibiana did that on Arie's show too.... the sudden temper tantrum and crying for what seems like a slight offense. She got so annoyed so fast with Jordan in the dance practice that I felt sorry for him. Me thinks Jordan dodged a bullet with her and maybe two or three days of pleasant interactions is probably Bibi's limit and then her fuse blows and she flys off the handle. Me too. What is with her "I wanted a guy who would never give up on me" insistence? Makes me wonder if her thing is to test the guy constantly to see what his limit is before she is satisfied. Who would want a guy that would be ok with that? I Please stick together Kevin and Ashley so that there is no possible way Ashley is ever recast on any of these shows. Please. Please. Please. #overherandherlipstick. Oh, and their "win" was a scam. Luke and Stassi had the best ice skating performance. Man, Luke was cold. He was definitely thrown under the bus by the producers. Maybe he'll show up on BIP but what woman would want him after seeing that? Makes me glad now to know that he had his bags packed and his airline boarding pass and then got the call that Nick V was the Bachelor. Luke would have been a disaster. I dunno with those two. They both seem like jokesters and I wouldn't be surprised if they planned the faux engagement together for a good laugh. Lesley didn't have the requisite weak at the knees moment before the ring box opened. Yes! A bit of a golden ticket these days, so good for Courtney and Lilly taking advantage and taking the time to see some of America while getting to know each other better. That's what I think too. So I am hoping I never have to see Luke, Bibiana, Clare or Ashley I again. Totally overwore their welcome. 4 Link to comment

Most of the house had left and she realized all the other couples would stick it out to the end, so she created stuff to get upset about and drag out her exit. She'll definitely be returning to TV. Real4real April 6, 2018 Share April 6, 2018 Where are we discussing the massive crash and burn of TWO of the couples in such short order? Dean and Leslie, and Claire and Benoit. What a shock! Looks like Courtney and Lily are the only couple left standing--the golden roses should have totally gone to them! 5 Link to comment
adhoc April 7, 2018 Share April 7, 2018 In an interview Clare gave after the engagement, as soon as she said "I don't care where we end up, I just can't do snow," I thought they would never get married. Of course, also spending more time together probably revealed other, more fundamental ways they were not compatible. 2 Link to comment
Token April 9, 2018 Share April 9, 2018 I thought it was obvious from the start, on the show, that Clare and Benoit were completely incompatible. It was just odd the way that Benoit acted towards her, almost like a stalker, he was convinced from the start that he was in love with her. I never saw anything even remotely close to love in Clare's actions towards Benoit. I think she was just flattered and slightly confused. 5 Link to comment
Mabinogia April 9, 2018 Share April 9, 2018 I can't help but wonder if Clare succumbed a bit to peer pressure. Look at the responses here. Benoit was beloved by many. Clare was a fool for choosing the other guy over Benoit! How could she! All that kind of stuff. So maybe she thought she was wrong in not choosing him and went all in the other way. She seems the all or nothing type so I don't think just casually dating Benoit a bit would have happened. It was engagement or break up. Eh, they tried. I am far more surprised and suspicious about the relationships that last from these shows than those that break up. There is something suspect to me in a relationship that is built on a few weeks of harem or group dating. It happens, but it is certainly rare, or should be. 1 Link to comment

I think most people go, what, that's it, why is there so much emphasis on it? I think Jane the Virgin did do a terrific job of dealing with this, and certainly being madly in love with your partner will help, but time and experience lead to a much more satisfying experience, I would think. And Ashley didn't have a religious reason for this, she wasn't holding out for her wedding night, and I doubt what she felt for Kevin was really love either.
